    Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
    Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future
    Sorry for any inconvenience with this and sorry for any lost posts.
  • Hi all. We had a couple of reports of people's signatures getting edited etc. in a bad way. You can rest assured this wasn't done by staff and nobody has compromised any of our databases.

    However, remember to keep your passwords secure. If you use similar passwords to elsewhere which has been accessed, people and even bots may be able to access your account.

    We always recommend using unique passwords, and two-factor authentication if you are able. Make sure you're as secure as possible

Worst to worst, it can be shiny hacked, but you can't really tell the difference, so indeed you are very lucky.

I had a chimchar up on the GTS for a Palkia. I just received a shiny Palkia (holding a master ball) but am unsure if it is hacked or cloned or something. Wondering if someone can clarify if it is real and soft-reseted or not. Thanks in advance

Looks fine to me, but I highly recommend rare candying any low-level Pokemon to at least 20, so we can better calculate the IV's.

Here's the tough part about 3rd gen events:

Wonder Cards weren't used in the 3rd gen until very late. So most were distributed via a link trade. This means that, instead of the Wonder Card randomly generating a Pokemon via Mystery Gift, there is literally a cartridge full of whatever the event Pokemon is.

So given that they all have to be individually made, it's possible to be shiny. There's nothing that prevents a shiny from being on a cart (unlike a Wonder Card, which literally prevents generated Pokemon from being shiny unless ALL generated are shiny).

It also seems like there was a bit more secuirty about the event carts back then, and very few have been leaked. A cart of Aura Mews got out, and none were shiny.

So take that as you will.
