Is Porygon2 good Pokemon?

I finally have it. My friends says it is stupitt Pokemon. I don't understand it. Please, tell me it is good Pokemon, and tell me which are best evs for it.

It can learn Recycle, Recover, and has decent defenses and Sp.Atk. Plus, he can learn some good attacks and is cool looking. He isn't stupid. *is biased for Porygon2*

All I know about the EVs is mostly on HP/Def and put some in Sp.Atk.

I'm currently training up a Porygon in LG and I'll be evolving it at lv50+
I have found Porygon to be very useful, so I assume Porygon2 would be just as good, or better.

I like Porygon 2 it's good at special attacking and with a Combo of Recover + Recycle @ Lum Berry you don't need to worry two much about been burnt/parz/psn. Give it icebeam + Thunderbolt and you have a pretty good bolt beamer.

The other option is to go with an attacking set- Sharpen + Tri Attack (Both learnt by Porygon not Porygon2!! You can increase your attack power and use Tri attack , then go with Lum Berry/Recycle + Recover. Sure the attack set limits your options and your screwed against Ghost/Steel/Rock types but for surprise value works well!

Versatile moveset. I have a shiny and I love it, though I'm not entirely sure what went on with his stats when I got him to level 100. I'm under the impression almost all of his EVs sucked (since I maxed out HP it apparently had an HP IV of like...1), but he's still useful.

Good or bad? I always wonder. Anyone have level 100 Porygon2 stats to compare with? I want to see if I'm above or below par, and max stats never mean much to me because I'm unsure of how to interpret them.

Porygon2 is what beat my game for me!! Thats why I was porygon2lover!

Porygon2 completely rocks. Conversion and Conversion 2 are excellent to null your weaknesses (if you survive a fighting attack, you have a chance to convert into the ghost type and recover ), and with Trace, you can nab some good abilities like Levitate.

I use a Porygon2 on my Fire Red team, and I love him

Porygon2 owns. Seriously. One of a few Pokemon that's made to possess Boltbeam. ;D

If you care about natures and EVs, Bold or Modest for the win, with an EV spread in Defence/Special Attack/HP.

So you want a moveset? Most common one is Ice Beam, Thuinderbolt, Recover and Thunder Wave. Others tend to use Recycle, Tri Attack or Conversion.

It's common because plenty of people who battle ingame or competitively with Porygon2 use that moveset, me included as Porygon2 has good special attack. Ice Beam and Thunderbolt (( "Boltbeam" )) will hit any Pokemon except for three (( Magenton, Lanturn and Shedinja )). Thunder Wave is there because of Porygon2's low speed stat (( Sometimes replaced with Agility )) and Recover is so Porygon2 won't die (( Again, this can be replaced with Conversion, which turns Porygon2's type to that of one of it's attacks, which could mean more resistances )).

To be blunt, Porygon2 is extremely user friendly and has a pretty good movepool. If you don't mind not hitting first then I honestly recommend using it... and my own has never lost a link battle yet.

I guess this is a good topic to ask in: Conversion or Conversion2?

Conversion adds resistances and STAB for at least one move.

Conversion2 gives more of a resistance to your opponent and could possibly add STAB if the situation is right.

So which is better?

Yeah, I'm breeding for a Modest Porygon just so I can evolve it in to Porygon2. I figure that it will most likely take the place of my Jynx in my team... because her defenses are absolutely HORRENDOUS. Seriously, she's at lv. 100 and I think her Defense is like 70...
