Is there a way you can tell the nature of a wild pokemon before catching it?

For example, if there is a wild Skarmory, can you tell what its nature is before you catch it or do you have to capture it to see?

In Emerald, you can use a Pokémon with the Synchronize ability. You'll encounter more Pokémon with the same nature as the Pokémon with Synchronize. It's not perfect, but it'll at least help.

keep in mind that only works in emerald. If you try in the safari zone of any of the r/s/e games, you can also up the percentage of a certain nature if you put certain pokeblocks in the feeders. Those pokeblocks will attract pokemon with natures that like thos pokeblocks.
As for whether you get the specific nature you want, you have to open your menu screen after you've caught it... that's the only way. you can just influence which kinda will appear certain places.

There's no way you can know the nature of the wild pokemon unless you catch it and you check it's stats.

It's impossible to tell what nature of a wild pokemon is before catching it.

Ok, this has been answered. Either just catch the Pokemon, or use a Pokemon with Synchronize in Emerald, and some of the time, the wild Pokemon will have the same nature as the Pokemon with Synchronize.
