if they had an online pokemon like world of warcraft and you could downlowd
your team off your game to the computer and you could actuley see the wild pokemon before you battle it wouldnt that be cool and you could walk around in huge 3d world and battle other trainers online discuss

they should do that... or at least make a game for the wii like that... because the wii does wifi stuff so you could acess the internet from it that would be cool

I wouldnt like it really. NetBattle is the best Pokemon game on the Internet imo, and a Pokemon MMORPG just would not appeal to me.

There was a thread on this at Smogon, and the contrast between the replies of the two communities astounds me.

It would be awesome :), in a few years or so, but Nintendo would probably never do it, it's usually Microsoft that does this kind of stuff ;)

www.pokemoncrater.com has it. It's okay, but it doesn't give you the right feel that you're actually doing it, since it's so short, the battle style is inaccurate, it's pretty slow and it's generally outlived. I think it would be a good idea to make a much better version like you've said, though the decision of actually training your Pokémon or selecting them like NetBattle is a tough one.

What you've suggested brings to mind a Netbattle/Colloseum hybrid. That would be damn awesome, but highly unlikely. ;;

Anyway, it might be a cool idea, but, if Nintendo used this for a Wii game they'd have to let us play for free, as they've already promised not to charge for any online service. (unlikely, considering the amount of bandwidth an MMORPG takes) So, a Pokemon game for PC? I just don't see it happening.

This would rock, but I'd rather the characters are Pokemon. But both ways, imagine the programming needed for so many Pokemon. If they started creating it now, it'll probally be done 5-6 years later, but hey, that's just my point of view.

I'm with the minority here. I'm happy with things as they are and with Wi-Fi making us able to trade and battle all over the world.
