Introduction~
Hello Serebii ^_^ it's been a very long time since I've posted a RMT, and since I've had much fun with a team. This team was built by me and my tutor Alucard after I wanted to use a sun team again. This team uses one of my favourite pokes, Heatran to cause destruction against others teams after it's gained a speed boost from Flame Charge. This team is rather a balanced team, with Ninetales and Donphan providing the defensive backbone for the team. The former providing weather and the latter providing that oh so good spin. Venasaur is one of the best sun abusers imo, and use of Flamecharge Tran further adds offensive fuel. Bandnite gives some much needed priority and a check against opposing sun/tr reuni, while trio is trap other weather starters. Time to go on to the team !

Team Building Process~

ninetales.png

We started off with Ninetales for the weather, (duh!) and decided on a specially defensive set.

I said I wanted to use Heatran, and Alucard suggested a flamecharge Heatran, and I love it ;3.

dugtrio.png

Dugtrio was the obligatory weather trapper, and allows me to keep the sun up.

Next we need a good sun abuser, so Venasaur was chosen. We don't use a growth set surprisingly, rather a sleep powder +3 attacks set.

Dragonite was chosen to help against other sun teams and just to be a nuisance in general. He also gives me that Extremespeed which is just so awesome.

Donphan was the needed spinner in this team, and is a good thing to use against Nite with dat ice shard ;3.

In Depth~

038.png

Deviant (Ninetales) (M) @ Chesto Berry
Trait: Drought
EVs: 252 HP / 120 SDef / 136 Spd
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Fire Blast
- Will-O-Wisp
- Hidden Power [Ice]
-
Rest

I will be honest, Ninetales has to be the most crappiest weather starter ever, but it has to be here for sun nonetheless. Well we decided on a specially defensive set so it could help the switch in to things such as toed and Starmie, the sweeper set was tried at first but it was just too underwhelming. The Speed EVs allow Ninetales to outspeed and OHKO Toxicroak, and rest is thrown in HP and Spec D to maximize bulk. The moves are pretty straightforward.
Chestorest was chosen to increase longetivity. Will-o-Wisp is to punish switch ins, especially tar who try and pursuit me when I switch out. Hp ice was chosen over fighting as fighting did hardly anything against tar, and ice allows me to stop dragons that think they can set up on me. Fireblast was chosen for more power, I always found flamethrower too weak, and Fireblast gave me the oomph needed to dent things more. Nothing really else to say about this. It's normally the first thing I sac if I face a non weather team, and I sac it after opposing weathers are gone.

485.png

Gray (Heatran) (F) @ Air Balloon
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- SolarBeam
- Fire Blast
- Flame Charge

I love this thing so much. It's helped me sweep so many teams before with and I love the fact that it's unexpected. +1 Heatran is very scary in the sun, with Fireblast denting so much. Heatran at +1 outspeeds duggie as well which is awesome, and means that trio cannot stop my sweep, as his sash can be broken by SR. The EV's are standard sweeper ones, and a modest nature is chosen to give power as I lack any sort of boosting item. Timid is not really missed as I do not really out speed anything significant. Balloon is there to allow me safe switch ins to predicted EQs, and it means balloon tran is a ***** to toxic gliscor. ;3 Solarbeam is there to hit things like Rotom and jellicent so they don't stop the Tran! Hp ice allows me to slay dragons, and has helped me a lot. I'm very happy with Tran and I don't think I would change it unless something else fits much much better in the slot. I think he is the MVP in most games, besides Venasaur.

051.png

Pain (Dugtrio) (F) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Arena Trap
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Reversal
- Sucker Punch

I gotta love this lil thing here. He allows me to always keep my sun up, but apart from trapping weather starters he doesn't do anything else. He is so weak attack wise that he can't KO Terrakion at full health. But yeah that's enough of that. Trio provides a quite important role in this team, trapping tar and heatran which can be a problem to this team. Sash allows survival against one hit, so its always required for Sr to never be up on my side of the field. Which happens most of the time, but not always lol. The EV's are simple sweeper EV's, and jolly nature is chosen just for the speed boost really. Adamnt means I would have to tie with base 105 pokes, and I wouldn't be able to out speed Terra. Earthquake is obligatory STAB, Stone Edge allows me to hit flying pokes, reversal is good after the sash is used and Sucker punch allows me to get the jump on certain scarf pokes, such as Latios. He does his role well, and hardly lets me down. So I'm pretty happy with him.

003.png

Pure (Venusaur) (M) @ Black Sludge
Trait: Chlorophyll
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Sleep Powder
- Energy Ball
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power [Fire]

This is quite different from the standard Sun saur. The use of timid and no growth will make some people go WTF but let me explain. Timid is used to outrun scarf terra and anything as fast as that. I'm paranoid about scarf terra, so timid was very needed here ;3. Now the coverage was preferred over setting up, and Vena still hits hard despite the lack of a growth boost.
Black Sludge was chosen for more survivability. I can still 2kho a number of things with Sludge Bomb such as Latios or Haxorus. Sleep powder is very much needed, as it allows me stop annoying things such as Latias which can be a pain to this team, but I normally play around it so it is not much of an issue. Hidden power fire is to hit steels, while energy ball is a good STAB to use against rain teams. Sludge Bomb allows me to many things for neutral damage, such as Dragons and is greatly used. This is quite a weird and different Vena set, but It's worked out for me So I'm happy ;3. He helps against rain teams, but a more bulky spread would be better, as I use him as a pivot against rain teams.

149.png

Themaster (Dragonite) (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Fire Punch
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- ExtremeSpeed

Dragonite is another MVP in some games. I can't say the amount of times I've kept this thing in the wings, after my opponent has been weakened I send this beast out and proceed to clean up. The Band allows me to hit hard right off the bat, with Extremespeed hitting so many things hard. The priority is awesome and allows me to clean up.I rely on this thing to hit hard, and it does its job well. Outrage coming from this thing just demolishes, while earthquake allows me to trannie. Firepunch in the sun is for steels, especially skarm who can be such a pain. Multiscale allows Dragonite to take certain hits and retaliate back. It's vital that Sr is away from my field, as multiscale is sorely needed. The EV's are pretty standard, but any alternative spreads would be welcome that would provide bulk. This thing does more than I ever thought it would, and it kicks that little TR Reuni to pieces as well. I wouldn't really change this tbh.

232.png

Ragnarok (Donphan) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs:
252 HP / 84 Atk / 168 Def / 4 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Ice Shard
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake

I love Donphan so much, he is one of the most important pokes on this team. He provides the SR that helps my pokes get certain KO's, but most importantly provides the spin that keeps my pokes safe. Earthquake is a good STAB that does decent damage, and makes sure Donphan is not a sitting duck. Rapid spin, is well just spin really. Ice Shard is one thing that I love about Donphan the most. It allows me to strike back at Dnite and Mence, and despite the lack of attack investment is still hurts dragons. Donphan is my thing against terrakion, and is a good pivot switch against sand teams. Sturdy allows me to survive one hit, which is pretty awesome If I need to revenge nite or need to a last desperate SR. Lefties provide the much needed recovery, as Donphan has no other way to recover itself. Donphan fills the spinner role well, and I prefer it over Hitmontop and Claydol.
The Ev's have been changed to provide some attack on Phan, while still providing good bulk. Credit to set goes to Lizardman.

Closing~

This team has done awesome for me, I'm not gonna say it's the best sun team ever, but It has been the best I have used so far. The team requires some good playing against certain pokes, and I do sack a lot sometimes to get win, but this does not detract from the worth of the team. Any constructive criticism is welcome, and I'm happy to test out all good changes. Just a few shoutouts, first to Alucard
093.png

I don't know much competitively, but 4 weaknesses to water isn't good, even with a sunny day team.

...

Seriously?

Now, onto the rate. First of all, I am disappointed that you didn't bother to put me into the names. ;-; Second of all, if a weather starter plays around Dugtrio, you will be very crippled when you lose the weather war. Try using Starmie over Donphan as your Spinner. Call me an idiot all you like, but a sun-boosted HP Fire really roasts most Ferrothorn while BoltBeam coverage hurts a multitude of rain and sand sweepers. It still has utility in sun, as it tends to make Heatran (a common Sun counter) wary of switching in.

Yessss I'm the ninetails :DDDD and im an awesome one at that lol

will rate after i get over the thrill of being your lead weather man (chew)

Heatran is severely walled by Fire types (and other Heatran) so I'd consider Earth Power. Sure, Solarbeam kills Water types but eh. Don't have to if you don't want to. Also consider Lava Plume and see if it works out. It's basically a Fire type Scald (and we all know how much Scald burns).

Can Venusaur learn Giga Drain? I'm sure it can if Gengar can learn it... Giga Drain is better than Energy Ball 95% of the time. It restores health at the cost of 5 power. It can't lower Special Defense like Energy Ball can but then again I'd rather be healing myself.

giga drain is illegal with chlorophyl

also he wants fire blast > lava plume for immeadiete power. Its a more offensive set than a defensive one

Looks very similar to the sun teams I made with Puretrainer. Don't fret though, since they are really good. It is also probably what I would use for sun offense.

You could try 252HP/80Atk/176Def on Donphan with Impish if you want more power. That is what I usually use.

I usually pair my Outraged Pokemon to a Persim berry but Over this is fine! Just be careful with Rapid Spin blockers... GHOSTS!
I give it a 8.7/10

Thanks everyone for the rates? Lol. Lizard the spread was taken on donphan and I love it ty ;3. Du is awesome as well hehe. And Karp ty for suggestions, but I think starm is out of place in a sun team, and donphan helps with dragonite more. Ty everyone ^_^

I agree with most of the other comments, but no one seems to have mentioned the general ice weakness. If you lost heatran and tales, all of your team is weak to ice. This could mean that if your opponent predicts well and you lose the weather war, your team would be killed fairly easily. Having to switch in ninetales or tran to avoid an ice weakness is risky because alot of the pokes that do know ice moves are water types (and even ground in the case of mamoswine or gastrodon). Either way, even if this team is standard it is still fairly solid.

8/10 :3

That's a pretty nice team. You seem to have gotten a good basis for the team, but I think it could use a few tweaks.

Firstly, if you're using ninetales as a water switch-in, I would definetely take Energy ball over HP Ice.

The heatran set looks good and imaginative.

If you're unhappy with duggy's damage out-put it might be worth considering a CB set seeing as you're not running SR.

I think Venusaur should run growth over sludge bomb as I think you could use something that can muscle through walls.

Dragonite and donphan are fine.

I think overall, your team could use a better counter to weather starters than duggy, especially rain teams. Specstoad could give this team some serious trouble with only dragonite being able to switch in and not even he's safe because of ice beam. I'm not sure what to suggest though, as I don't really play dedicated weather much.

Try 252 HP / 84 Atk / 168 Def / 4 Spd on Donphan. I like to be able to outrun Chansey.

Otherwise you could stick with max defense. I like using either max defense, or some attack EVs + 4 Spe.

As everyone knows laddering sucks. You get haxed by the bad players and the good players beat you up because they have a better team matchup. However with a strong team you can actually get past these obstacles reach somewhere high in the ladder. This is one of those teams.Despite the Latias weakness and the many Sandstorm teams that you usually find in the ladder(which are Sun team's biggest weakness) I actually managed to keep on winning .Truly one of the best teams I've ever played with so great job Maka:3(but fu for making me write a speech)
And here's my peak.
