It's sly on people who have Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green but not Emerald.What I am saying is there is not a place like the Battle Frontier on FR and LG after the Pokemon League.And on Emerald you can get Mew! How flippin sly is that?Post back plz.;151;

You know why? Because the Battle frontier was made AFTER FR/LG. If it's that mush of a bother, get it for Christmas.

Probably thought of it because of FR/LG. If they had, which they probably did, then it wouldn't be sly because without FR/LG there'd be no BF.

You know what's real "sly"? How they punish the people who bought Sapphire or Ruby by coming out with Emerald later. I bought Sapphire, I love it, and I'm not going to go out and spend $30 to get essentially the same game with a few bells and whistles. However if I had a choice between Sapphire and Emerald, I'd take Emerald.

As for FR/LG, they were special enough without all of Emerald's extras.

IMO, Emerald shoulda been out before Fr/Lg. But, like Former Absolkid said, we'd probably not have the goold ol' fronteir. I don't really care, because I get all of the colour/metal/elemental/gem versions of the games the day the come out. Heck, I got XD 4 days before it came out.

I like Emerald the best,I bought ruby first though.
Emerald stole the altering cave from FR/LG :p
I find it 'sly' that the altering cave can have pokemon living there in Emerald but not FR/LG,I mean they introduced the thing!!

Hear,hear! I am 100% of the same opinion,but do you see how much money theyve made from it? I mean some people have bought 3 copies of the same game! I for one just dont see the point in spending another 50 euro on a directors cut of a game I already have. I want it,and I'd prefer it,but I'm just not that stupid.

Note that you can get MEW on Emerald and not FR/LG.That is still sly.

Also, the thing about Mew and the Old Sea Chart is rubbish because Nintendo is just repeating the same mistake again. "WE DON'T WANT ANY MORE EVENTS OR WONDERSPOTS!" the Pokémon game fans cry out. "WE DON'T WANT MORE REMOVED POKÉMON!" they scream. But no, here it is again, just another Pokémon many people including me are not going to be able to get...

Its my opinion when I am saying this but I think they just want you to travel a far distance to go to one of there events so you can get a Pokemon. While the other thing you really have to do is get a Game Shark and get that certain item or Pokemon

Even if I don't own Emerald and I will NEVER buy it, im with Magma Leader Maxie. Mew and Old Sea Chart are rubbish. Why making the US/UK of the game with them in the coding if they won't do an event? What's the point -.-?

If you bought Yellow and Crystal after buying R/B or G/S, then... hehe... let's leave it at that. I don't wanna insult anyone unintentionally...

The fact remains that Emerald is, arguably, the best Pokémon game ever made. Plus, it's the ONLY Special Version worth the purchase, at least in America (Crystal was quite worthwile in Japan...). Lack of "helpful glitches" and no ACTUAL add-on to the original makes both Yellow and Crystal a bigger waste of money, for anyone that bought them...

As for the topic in hand... let's remember we're not all filthy rich people. Plus, the greatness of Pokémon is that you can have only one game, yet you can fully enjoy the core gameplay by trading with other games. You can get all Pokémon by trading with your friends, and it's actually better to do that than to do it solo. I agree that Emerald is much better than FR/LG, or any other Pokémon game for that matter, but it's not silly to not have it. Not everyone has the possibility to get all games. Heck, I don't have such possibility, yet I got pretty much every 3rd Gen game (Except FR, and I'll hopefully get XD soon too...). Why? Because they're all great games on their own way. And even if I didn't buy any previous Special Version, I made the exception with Emerald, because it was worth getting for once...

It's not wrong to have FR/LG and not Emerald. The point stands...

but I think Emerald is differnt enough to be worth it ;)

Why did I buy Emerald? Not because of Mew, but because I have only my sister as a friend, and yet, she doesn't play pokemon often, and in order to make sure that pokemon are ready for the real battles, I wanted a pokemon game that not only makes making a competitve pokemon easier than the other games combined, but also contains a place that tests out your competitive battling ability, and that's why I bought Emerald: It has the Battle Frontier as the place that tests out your competitive battling ability, and more...

But, yeah, I agree that it's "sly". After all, we don't want another pokemon that might become just like another Celebi in terms of availability, only different(Celebi doesn't require a Wonderspot item that many are probably not going to get, given the time remaining until the next-gen Revolution console comes around, while Mew, the pokemon that might become another Celebi in availability terms, does)...

I must say, buying emerald was one of my biggest mistakes. It was all like 'done this. done this. done this.' Even the new parts of emerald seemed old, after playing Ruby so much. And I'm sick of the new pokemon, yes, the hoenn pokemon. The majority are so ugly and BORING. Frankly, I'd be feeling sorry for the suckers that bought emerald than owners of FR/LG (like me). Need Mew? Pah, do you see a Nintendo event anywhere? Not where I am anyway.

i felt the same way so i didnt buy it. My friend bought it and also felt the same thing so he gave me his emerlad for free, so im not complaining
