I've been approached by a friend with a gameshark. He asked me if I wanted to get the tickets that are handed out at Nintendo events. That way I can have my 1 opportunity at Lati@s, Deoxys, Lugia, Ho-oh, and Mew. Nothing more. No awesome stats, nor shiny pokemon. Just a shot at the pokemon that nintendo has hidden from many of us.

What do my fellow forum-goers think? Should I take him up on it so that I, too, can have the opportunity to catch the pokemon so far only available to those who live in the particular regions? Thank you all for your opinion.

EDIT: Also, if I plan to attend tourneys with another friend (he plays the TCG), What affect will that have if I have those pokemon, but I don't battle with them?

If you don't mind cheating than go for it! If not, than just wait for a Nintendo event. [oh yeah, I gotta try out my game shark too]

Unfortunately, Nintendo has said that they are not hosting anymore events for Deoxys, Lati@s, Lugia and Ho-Oh. So, that's your ONLY way to get them unless Nintendo gets off their fat *** and give us WOnder Spots like they promised last year.

We still have no idea about Mew, so I suggest you not cheat for him.

Also, if you own multiple versions, don't use it on your 'Good' Game, if you just warp yourself to the islands, and trade the Pokemon to another game, I think that wipes your 'shark' trail.

Talking of cheat devices is forbidden. However, I recently bought a game shark, and I inquired the same things. I can never go to a Nintendo event, so I think I should. I will warn you, I did the same thing with an Action Replay, and it deleted most of my Gym Badges. I had to restart my game since my Pokemon wouldnt obey and I couldnt use certain HMs. Use it at your own risk.

Nintendo expects you to go out of your way to get certain Pokemon, which isnt fair to use shlums who cant go to one. Using a cheating device is the only way to get some of the elusive ones. Some of us cant find certain Pokemon since we dont know anyone with an exclusive version, and we cant afford it OR a GBA to trade with (I only have 1 GBA, and a DS). Thats also not fair. I cheated for Rubys Pokemon (back in Sapphire). I dont think its fair that they expect you to spend money or have friends with the opposite games. I also cheated for a Shiny Charizard, which I dont use or brag about (I just like looking at him). True Pokemon Trainers, IMO, can use cheats as long as they dont Mod up there Pokemon and brag about it (I only Modded my Charizard because I think it looked cool, not for bragging rights.)

Do whatever YOU want. BUT, if you want to remain a worthy trainer, you probably shouldn't do it. On the other hand you will get pretty cool Pokemon.

NO. I don't think that would be the way. You still can do it at your own risk, but I think you shouln'd. Aren't you fine with IG pokemons?

IMO, it's your decision, not our >>'.

how the hell are you a less worthy trainer? You'd get the same pokemon in a event, is that cheating? No, and because there is no other way, why not? The only con, malcolm_n, is that you may get your data errased, which is really unlikely anyway (I've not cheated personally but my friend got me a kyogre by catching it in LG - its been released now though...)

Exactly. As long as your not altering the game so all your Pokemons Stats are 999 and a Fire Type knows Hydro Pump, your not being less worthy. Like I said before, its not fair that Nintendo expects you to go to events, have friends, or money to buy and get the other pokemon, as well as the other games that have very slight differences. Its also not right that Nintendo screwed everyone but the Japanesse people out of Celebi (Unless your a person like me who believes in a rare glitch). Basically, if you dont live in where there going, you have to spend hard earned money on to get there. The Device is much cheaper, and depending on how you use it, it doesnt make you more or less of a player. Also, I dont feel like quoting the other person, but there are cheats that DO allow Mew and Deoxys to obey you.

personally, i wouldn't, because the last time i used an AR, my game got corrupted, and i only used a couple of item cheats. you could also get a bad egg, which will be your worst nightmare. is it really fun to use 00bers? it's more fun when you battle with pokemon you breeded to perfection and EV trained instead of cheating to get them then just slapping a couple of rare candies on... but it's your choice.
