Could someone tell me what EVs and IVs are and what they stand for, (if anything)
Thank you

Read the main site Game Mechanics or the topic in RSE FAQ's.

But, this is them in a nutshell:
IV's, or Individual Values, are numbers set at the beginning of when you capture a Pokemon. They range from 0-31 and add that many stat points to the Pokemon's final stats. EV's, Effort Values, are points you get for defeating a Pokemon. 4 EV's give you one stat point. You can only get 255 EV's per stat and 510 in total.

Where's my fanfare?
Unless things changed from what i last recall, IVs stand for "Individual Values", and they represent various randomly generated numbers that your Pokemon have when they are captured, or their egg is created. This includes stats, nature, gender, and other things. The most common usage is for stats though.

EVs are "Effort Values" which are points/values that a Pokemon gain when battling other Pokemon (only in battles where they gain experience), or use vitamines.

That's the very basic idea of EVs and IVs.

Effort Values
Individual Values
Dynamic Values

Edit: Whoops, in response to the post below lol Yeah, its what I get for posting when I wake up. IVs are DVs, but DVs are not IVs. I got it backwards.

No. In 3rd Gen, IV's only give stat points and determine Hidden Power type and strength (which I forgot to add in my last post). In GSC, they did determine the gender and Hidder Power, but in 3rd Gen, there are seperate values. DV's, or Dynamic Values, determine Nature, Gender, Personality Value (for Wurmple's evolution), and other things like that. I think you meant DV's but just got them mixed up.
