JAA: Is Zangoose worth it?

The Great Butler

Hush, keep it down
I'm thinking about raising a Zangoose for my team for Journey Across America. I do need a physical sweeper, and Zangoose seems to fit the bill nicely (great speed is a plus too)

What I want to know is, is it worth it to raise a Zangoose? And if it is, what's a good movepool for one?

goose is a good physical sweeper, best as a sub/endflailer:

zangoose@salac berry
nature: jolly/adamant
ability: immunity
~ Swords Dance
~ Flail
~ Shadow Ball
~ Substitute/Endure

just a disclaimer, end/subflail only works in 1v1, because otherwise you get ganged up on. and I think JAA is an Uber metagame, right? in which case, i dunno if it's wise to be using something like 'goose.

JAA is 2v2. On Topic: In 2v2 it'll be a poor choice as well, it's too fragile. If you need a physical sweeper go pick up a Meta.

True, true, point taken. But I'm not sure about Metagross.....surely there will be many a Groudon there, and I wouldn't doubt seeing a number of Charizards either.

I'd use my Snorlax but it has rather poor stats....I know I could do much better with it.....

you could just use a groudon of your own. better all-around stats than metagross, STAB on EQ, and not itself weak to EQ. also, only two weaks (as long as drought stays on) and Swords Dance is pretty cool on a STAB EQ in double battles. OW!

It was a top of my head example, and Charizard is a weakly who gets owned by alot of stuff. Like Wizard said, use a Groudon of your own or something.

Groudon is best used as posted already.
Groudon@ Leftovers/ Salac/ Liechi
252 Atk, 252 Spd, 4 HP
Sword Dance
EQ
Rock Slide
Overheat/ Fire Blast

No HP Bug because you use your own gamepaks.

I already have a Groudon on my planned team. But I have decided upon an alternative for Zangoose, an overused one but a good one nonetheless.

So I guess this can be closed, then. Thanks for the help.
