Crabrawler and Passimian are both probable canditates for Ash's team so he's covered there.

That's presuming that he even catches one of those 2, so while it possible that he could get one of those 2 it's possible that he won't even catch them as so far nothing has even hinted at him catching one of them, sure stuff could popped up later that would suggest that he will get them, but at this point until we get evidence or hints that suggest he will get one of those 2 or something else we can't say he has that area covered, as right now it's still entirely possible that he won't even get a Crabrawler and/or a Passimian in which case that would only leave Jangmo-o left which is probably not going to be showing up this soon.

didn't Kiawe say he got his bracelet and crystal from facing the kahuna on Akala island?

If that was the case shouldn't he have the rock Z-crystal in addition to the fire one?

Maybe Ash gets the grass Z-crystal for winning here despite Hala using fighting types.

It could be that Kiawe did get the rock Z-crystal but he just doesn't use it. Remember although we've only seen him use the fire type Z-crystal that doesn't automatically mean he doesn't have any others that he just doesn't use. Plus it wouldn't make much sense for a Fighting specialist whose uses the Fighting type Z-crystal to be giving out a Grass type Z-crystal. Also I relooked at the part of episode 2 where it mentions it and it only said that he got his Z-ring from the Kahuna but it never said anything about him getting his Z-crystal from facing the Kahuna.

Or Olivia to have possibly given the Fire Z Crystal to Kiawe?

Keep in mind though it never said that Olivia gave the Fire Z Crystal to Kiawe, nor would it make any sense for her to have one so it's entirely possible that he got his Z-crystal from somewhere else. Another thing to note is that Kiawe said that he got his Z-ring from the Kahuna but he never said where he got his Z-crystal, so if she had given him both his Z-ring and Z-crystal it is weird that he only mentioned her giving him his Z-ring instead of saying that she gave him his Z-ring and Z-crystal meaning chances are Olivia did not give Kiawe his Fire Z Crystal and it came from somewhere else.

So since it was never stated that he got his Z-crystal from Olivia I think it's safe to presume that the Kahunas only hand out Z-crystal for the type they specialize in.

Ash losing against Hala because he uses a Z-move at an inappropriate time is kind of what I expect to happen. I do like the idea of Ash and Kiawe talking about Z-moves and Kiawe explaining to Ash how to properly use them. Hopefully, we will also learn more about how Kiawe earned his Z-Crystal and Z-Ring. (Fingers crossed for an Olivia cameo!)

Well I didn't think Ash losing to Hala was 'obvious', but it was certainly a possibility. I mean, I dunno how strong Kahunas are supposed to be compared to gym leaders in the show. ^^; Hala owning a Crabrawler is a relief to me however, even if it's not his ace.

So I just noticed something. I don't know if this has been pointed out or if this means anything or whatever, but I was watching the preview from that school special again, and I noticed that whenever a Z-Move is used, some text shows up on-screen after the trainer does that little dance, right? Hala's All-Out Pummeling had the text... but there was none for Breakneck Blitz. I wonder if that's a subtle indication that something's not right, and that the Z-Move will fail? Of course, it's possible they cut away when the text is shown, so idk. It's just something random I noticed that may or may not mean anything.

Has it been confirmed that Hala owns a Crabrawler in the anime? I didn't see one in the future episodes trailer & the first post doesn't have any images showing that he has one

Crabrawler is listed in the voice cast. That as good as confirms that he has one.

My mistake. I assumed that to be general text related to the program that was airing. I don't know Japanese though.

Bunnelby? I beliveve so. I'm just saying that the shots look similar, with Bunnelby stopping Pikachu's Iron Tail with his ears and Hariyama stopping it with its hands.

Seems to be. It can know the move and it looks similar to how other Pokémon have used it in XYZ.

It took him 10 episodes before he rematched Brawly, and there's still the summary for SM11 hinting that he may lose. So no.
