We’ve seen time and time again that the anime isn’t afraid of adding on to storylines (think Orange Islands, Battle Frointer, the long gap between Snowpoint and Sunnyshore, Episode N, Declore Islands and Aim to be a Pokemon Master) or throwing in twists (remember Arc 3 didn’t have any Hero Pokemon at all).
Remember we don’t know how to get to Rakua we just need the six heroes. Everything else is new territory. They can add or extend it for however long they want.

What? I assume you're referring to this line,

but aside from having the word "rainbow" in it, the title is completely different. I don't see any connection here.

True...ESPECIALLY since they don't have to work around the games' plot(s) this time.

Even with their stated objectives they can still do other stuff, and do it well. The Academy is proof of that. I kinda wouldn't mind another mini-arc in an old region (except Kanto) with several of its characters popping up...

I ALREADY have a feeling there will be a detour to Kalos because of Legends Z-A. Though on the other hand they aren't altering the story for promotion's sake like they used to, so who can say?

They added alot of Paldea as well as a bit kf Kitakami.... Zygarde and Rayquaza are the legendary mascots kf gen 6 pretty much. We will get that mega rayquaza and stellar terapagos vs 100% Zygarde fight
