Jigglypuff as Ash's Pokemon

Did you know that the creator of Pokemon limited the main characters first Pokemon down to Pikachu and Jigglypuff and eventually chose Pikachu... Imagine if Ash had Jigglypuff this whole time instead of Pikachu.

Most likely, but instead of pointing such matters out, answer the actual topic question, and leave the mods to choose where this lies.

Anyways, I could never, and I mean never, see the writers schedule a Jigglypuff to be Ash's. That would make him look .. like a girl, imo. Meh, who knows. I would like to see proof before I completely rule this out.

Here's another fun fact. Pokemon's been around for 10 years. If they aged at all in the cartoon Ash and his friends (excluding May and Max) would now be around 20 years old.

I heard that it was Clefairy too. I heard it from Animerica.

They gave the Japanese public the chance to vote on who Ash's first Pokémon was going to be, between Clefairy and Pikachu. I mean, they didn't originally plan for Ash to have all the starters. At least, that's what they said.

We all know who won the vote.

Another fact which my friends told me at first, which I did not believe, he showed me a few websites (including some reliable websites) and it was that Jynx, Electabuzz and Magmar were based off the original designs of the legendry trio. They would have had tunder, fire and icepunch as their special moves (they were still exclusive to them and Hitmonchan in GRBY). In Green, Jynx, Electabuzz and Magmar were all in the caves of their legendry bird.

Jigglypuff with Ash would just be weird. Pikachu was a much better option imo.

I heard Jigglypuff as well, but considering there is one manga where Ash has a loud-mouth Clefairy that makes more sense. Clefairy is all right but I like Jigglypuff better and then Pikachu above the rest as far as being Ash's first Pokemon. It just...fit.

Not only that but Clefairy is rare. Can you imagine Prof. Oak having one to just give to a trainer? ;

I don't think Clefairy would have been that bad of a pokemon for ash. metranome would be a pretty cool and unpredictable attack that defeats team rocket every episode rather than the same old thundershock/bolt. But Pikachu is more of a gender neutral pokemon than Clefairy is made out to be being pink and a fairy and all...

If I had the choice of Ash starting out with a Pikachu, a Jigglypuff, of a Clefairy, I'd choose the Clefairy. But above all three, I wish Ash had started out with a Charmander. That would have been the best choice.

Clefairy is too feminine for Ash. Just imagine all the jokes people would crack with a girly Clefairy on his head all day.

Pikachu was the best choice for his starter, plain and simple.

If they had started out with a female character like Blue from the manga, then Clefairy would have worked. However Ash was a dude, and they wanted a pokemon that seemed like it would fit a 10 year old boy. Plus Clefairy appeals to girls, but Pikachu works for both genders since its a mix of cool and cute

I think Jigglypuff as Ash's Pokemon isn't a good idea. Because it doesn't suit him.

Jigglypuff... being Ash's 1st pokemon? As funny as it would be, Jigglypuff doesn't suit Ash at all. Pikachu was a much better idea.

And also; how would Ash get Jigglypuff as his starter? Prof. Oak wouldn't have a Jigglypuff! (or would he...)

Anyways, I'm happy that Ash has Pikachu. It would be different if Ash had a pink balloon - like pokemon instead of the Pikachu we all love.
