Um...are you sure this is your first time with CG? It seems like you really know your stuff. The eyes are absolutely gorgeous and the shadin' is just wonderful. You must be an exellent hand drawer to do this on CG. Man, this makes me want these types of programs even more! -_-; A little side note, the text is just awesome, and that quote is deep. It's very true.

She looks melancholy and your pose is done very well.
However you should be more careful about the choice of colours on your picture. But otherwise this is quite good for a first attempt.

It's just preference, but I find the yellow on the Jolteon's body not very dashing, it should be a brighter shade of yellow and a little bit of orange.

Born and raised as a freebirth, Jenica lived with her First Gen. Eevee parents on Pokemorph Island. She loved them dearly, and they complimented her with equal adoration. Whist walking on the beach at the age of 14, she happened across a Thunderstone, and, being the curious girl that she was, decided to examine it. This physical reaction caused a violent change in her DNA and genetics, as a Change went underway, truning her from Eevee to Jolteon. After ten grueling days of transformation, she realized her final form; a Jolteon-morph. Honing her abilities through playful activities, Jenica unlocked most of her latent electrical power, and harnessed it. Life was good for a time, and she lived like she normally did. That is, until she was 18. She and a few of her friends decided to go snooping around the mainland, mainly because she couldn't believe all the negative things she'd heard about the humans. Unfortunately, surveillance cams picked her and her crew up rather quick, and Team Rocket wasted no time hauling the lot of them off to a camp. That was 2 years ago. She now spends her days in a filthy cage, forced into manual labor, painful torture, and other unspeakable horrors. She's about ready to give up all hope of ever escaping. Her firends' mortalities are still unknown.

Wow...that's a good backstory. I bet you could write a story about her. I love it.

Ah you are a dedicated pokémorpher. The way you spoke of that backstory it sounded like it came from the pokémorph MUCK. I do keep my eye on furry activity .

Anyway, the way you drew her is full of expression, I look forward to see the finished set of characters. I think you just need to clean up the line art a bit more, it'll give a smoother feel without the little white pixels around her frame.

This is soo pretty, especially since it's your first CG. ^^ I like the dark colours you used, it makes it seem sadder.
Did you draw the background? I don't think it really matches the picture because she's just floating there.
