I didn't like my last fanfic much, so i decided to trash it. I actually like this one so far, and plan to keep it up.

Prologue:

“Seems like I can’t fall asleep tonight. Heh, not like it’s that surprising, seeing as I’ve been waiting for this day to come for the past 5 years.”

A teenage boy was laying on top of a queen-sized bed, covered with a faded light blue cover. He laid with his hands laced together covering his eyes, holding back his thick long raven colored hair. He wore nothing but a pair of gym shorts and a pair of socks while laying in his bed. He lifted a hand off of his right eye, to glance over at the digital clock that lay next to his bed on a wooden bed stand.

“…2:37 A.M. I still have about 8 and a half hours to wait. If I don’t get some sleep, I won’t be awake for the ceremony, and I’ll have to wait another year until I can start my own journey.” he set his hand back over top his face, and through his fingers again to cover his eyes. “Damn it, how did you manage to sleep the entire night before you left? That idiot could sleep through anything.”

*******************

*pant* *pant* *pant*

“Eh….five more minutes mom..…” mumbled the boy wearily, grabbing a blanket from next to time and violently rolling to face the wall on the side of his bed, bringing the blanket with him to cover his face.

*pant* *pant* *pant*

Seeing that whatever was in his face wouldn’t be leaving him alone anytime soon, the boy grabbed his blanket and threw it off of him onto the vanilla colored carpet floor, then turning around to see what was bothering him while he was sleeping the sleep that he had waited for all night long. The moment he had turned around, a wet, saliva coated pink tongue licked his face, getting spittle inside of his mouth.

“Ehhh, my god! Get off my bed you flee ridden mutt!” he yelled at a black dog, whose face was covered in fur that was just as black as his own hair. Covering the rest of the dogs body was a grey colored fur, that glistened brightly in the light that was shining threw a window on the wall just next to his own bed. “Mom! Mom! Come get this thing out of my face, I’m trying to sleep!” As he yelled this, the dog continued to lick his face, and the boy kept complaining each time his face and the dogs tongue met.

“Poochyena, get off of Danny’s bed, go wake up Andrew, it’s about time that he wake up as well.” The voice from which this command came form was a middle-aged women drying her hands on a towel, with her hair flying loose. Her hair was the exact same raven color as her sons, with red highlights running through wild. “Look at your clock, you need to get ready,” she said, walking out of the doorway with the little Poochyena following her, turning into the door right next to Danny’s, only to get the same result from Andrew, a scream of terror to wake up to dog spit in your mouth.

“Why, what time is it….?” Danny asked wearily, rubbing his hazel colored eyes to clear any crust that may have accumulated during the night. As he turned to face the clock, he suddenly jumped out of bed and shut the door on his mother. It was 10:00 A.M., meaning he had only an hour and a half until the ceremony that he was apart of.

He began to undress, and grabbed a towel from the back of his white wooden door. He wrapped the towel around his body and ran hurriedly down the hallway, heading towards the bathroom to take a shower. He went to open the door, only to find that someone else was using it.

“Goddamn it, hurry up! I have to take a shower before I leave you know, let alone eat and get dressed!” as he yelled through the door, it opened to reveal an older man, with a rugged looking face covered in a blonde and grey goatee, with hair of the same color combed sleekly back.

“Danny, who do you think you’re talking to? I’m your father, show me some respect or I won’t let you go on your adventure” replayed the older man, with a stern look on his face from getting treated so rudely. He appeared at first glance to be in perfect shape, with fair sized muscles on his arms. Though his appearance seemed in great physical condition, he wasn’t in very good shape. His old age had taken a toll on him, and he had problems with almost every single bone in his body.

"Of course I know who I’m talking to, someone who won’t let his own son take a shower.” Danny replied sarcastically, while rolling his eyes at his father. “Now can you finish whatever you’re doing in the other bathroom?”

Danny’s father sighed at the lack of respect from his own son, but decided that since he had been waiting years to go on his journey, he’d let him off the hook for being sarcastic, since he was probably just anxious for today. When Danny got into the bathroom, he turned on a nice warm shower, until the bathroom mirrors began to fog.

After finishing up his shower, he ran into his room and went to a giant wooden cabinet at the corner of his room, and opened up one of the drawers and grabbed a pair of faded blue jeans. He then proceeded to put on the pants, and then ran towards the closet at the foot of his bed, and a grey shirt off of a hanger dangling from a pole inside the messy closet, which was filled with posters, dirty laundry, and old beaten up toys from when he was a child. He then went down a set of stairs that led into a living room, and walked across the room, which seemed to have an extra feeling of warmth to it today, towards the dining room.

“Nice to see your ready, now hurry up and eat your breakfast, you have an hour left until the ceremony starts.” his mother reminded him, as he proceeded to sit at a wooden chair in his dining room. The slid the chair over the light brown wooden floor, and grabbed a spoon off the table and began eating his breakfast, consisting of just a bowl of cereal and a glass of juice.

As Danny continued to eat, Poochyena came over to him a plopped down right next to him, his pink tongue dripping with saliva. He continued to stare at Danny as he ate with his brilliant bright red eyes. Danny stared back at him, and thought back to just a short while ago when he woke up to spit in his mouth.

“Aww Poochyena, I can’t stay mad at you. Come up here, want some food?” Danny asked, patting his lap invitingly, in which the Poochyena jumped into, and began lapping up some of Danny’s cereal with his still salivating tongue. Danny affectionately scratched behind Poochyena’s left ear. Danny thought that since Poochyena was going to finish his cereal, he would go get his backpack all ready for his travel. Danny got to his room and went back into his closet once again. He grabbed a brand new book bag from under a pile of clothes, with the tag still attached to the handle.

He grabbed items that he thought would be essential for his journey, such as a few extra pairs of clothes, his razr cell phone, and a specially designed belt, with six evenly spaced out containers around it. He threw all of his things into the book bag, except for the belt. He strapped the black colored belt around his waist, and walked out his bedroom door. He stopped in the doorway and turned around to take one last look into his room before he left.

Danny went outside, to see his parents, and brother, standing right next to his fathers silver colored Diamante. The sun shined off of the cars bright paint, glaring into Danny’s eyes, making it difficult to see. Before getting into the car, Danny turned around once more, to face his house that he wouldn’t see for months. The tan colored siding, the brown tiled roof, and the old wooden porch, all of it he would miss. He got into the car and sat down on the leather interior, and pulled on his seatbelt, and when everyone was ready, they left for the ceremony.

Well, Im done chapter 1, let me know how I did

Chapter One:

As Danny and his brother, Andrew, walked into the giant marble floored ballroom, a fresh gust of ice cold wind blasted into their faces. Danny was relieved to be in a nice cool room instead of his dad’s overheated car. As he was examining the room, an old man came up behind him and tapped his shoulder. Danny turned around to see the familiar face of the towns mayor, Mr. Dunbar.

“Well well, Danny, it’s nice to see you here. This year you’re actually participating in the ceremony, correct?” he asked, with a warm and cheerful look upon his reddish face.

“Oh, Mr. Dunbar, nice to see you.” Danny responded, a smile appearing over his face, while extending his arm out to shake hands with Mr. Dunbar. “And you’re right, this year I’m in the ceremony. It’s been five years, but I’m finally ready.”

Mr. Dunbar gave out a hearty laugh, grasping Danny’s hand and shaking it. “That’s nice to hear. Looks like you’ll have the house to your own, eh Andrew?” Danny’s younger brother gave out a little chuckle in agreement to what Mr. Dunbar had just said, rubbing the back of his neck with his left hand. “Well I’ll leave you two guys alone now, I have other participants to greet. Why don’t you go find your seats now? I’m sure your parents will be watching from the spectator seats to wish you good luck Danny.” As Mr. Dunbar ended his sentence, he began to walk off in the direction from which Danny and Andrew had just come from, to greet the people who had just walked into the door.

*******************

“Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, I’m delighted to greet you all this afternoon for this spectacular occasion.” Mr. Dunbar was just beginning the introduction of the ceremony. He stood on the middle of a magnificent marble stage, with a great deal of lights shining down on top of him from platforms stationed around the stage, making him shine with all the colors of the rainbow. “This ceremony is held once a year, every year since the birth of this great town. At this ceremony, it is the duty of each villager of the age of fifteen or older to embark on a great travel, to unravel the mysteries of the world, and to discover the mysteries of themselves.

“Today we are celebrating the going of thirty-six teenagers, all of which I personally know are more than ready to take part of their own journey. Though the journey may be long, rough, and at times seem like something is impossible, I know that these children will overcome each and every obstacle that they may come across.” Mr. Dunbar continued talking about the tradition of the town, and all the while the thirty-six teenagers of which he mentioned were grinning ear to ear, glad to be recognized for all of their hard work over the course of their lives.

Danny turned to look at his brother, who was sitting in the metallic folding chair right next to his, only to find him on his portable video game player, playing a game of Mokeypon. “Andrew, what are you doing, put that thing away before we get in trouble.” Danny scolded at his brother, doing all that he could to keep his voice low so not to disturb the others who were trying to pay attention to what Mr. Dunbar was saying. “I swear that if you mess up this once in a life time opportunity for me, I’ll kick your *** everyday until next years ceremony.”

“Calm down, it’s not like me playing a video game is going to hurt anyone.” replied Andrew sarcastically, looking at Danny with a mocking look in his hazel eyes. He resembled Danny in many ways, from the color of their eyes to the color of their hair, though they both got irritated whenever someone commented on how much a like they look. “ Now can you help me? My Melichar keeps losing to Murky’s Yustar. I don’t know what to do.”

Danny looked at Andrew with a glaring look in his eyes, the look that he usually gave people when they got on his nerves, which happened quite often between him and his brother. Andrew got the idea that Danny was being serious for once, and decided to play his game sometime later, when he knew his brother couldn’t complain. While the two brothers were arguing, Mr. Dunbar had finished his speech, and was calling each soon-to-be trainer up to the stage to receive a spherical object, colored two different shades of green. On one side it was colored a bright green, reminiscent to the color of a lime, and the other half was colored a dark shade of green, like that of faded grass during the fall. As he handed the trainer the ball, he had them go and stand in a straight line on one side of the stage. When it got time for Danny to go up to the stage, he heard his parents call out to him from up on the upper level of the seats, and waved out to them to let them know that he had heard them.

“Danny, it looks like your parents are very proud of you,” Mr. Dunbar said to him when he reached the stage, putting his hand on his shoulder, smiling at him. “I’m assuming no-ones ever told you this, so
I’ll let you in on a little secret. The way in which you get Pokemon isn’t like that of other towns. We have our own special ritual, hence the reason behind the green colored pokeball. But that’s all I’m going to tell you, I want the rest to be a surprise.” Mr. Dunbar put the green pokeball in Danny‘s hand, and shook his hand, gesturing him to go and stand with the others.

Danny looked at Mr. Dunbar with a confused look on his face, but thanked Mr. Dunbar for the pokeball and went over to where he had told him. Danny looked at the others, and noticed that he was the nineteenth to be called, meaning he had to stand on the white shining stage for last seventeen people to be called up to the stage.

One by one, Mr. Dunbar called each teenager up to the stage, and greeted them in a similar way in which he had greeted Danny. Every person that was called up to the stage had a different look to them than others of the group. When Mr. Dunbar got to the twenty-sixth person, he called out the name of one of the boys who lived in the same neighborhood as Danny. Danny knew the boy who was being called, though he wasn’t a personal friend of his. He laughed under his breath, knowing that is was too late for him to show up now.

When Mr. Dunbar had finished called up everyone who had shown up, he proceeded to finish the first half of the ceremony. “Now that every young and aspiring trainer has been given their honorary pokeball, I regret to say that this is the time I must send you all home. I would also like to ask these thirty-five trainers to stay here, for though you are done here for today, these trainers have much more to accomplish before starting their journey.”

As Mr. Dunbar finished saying this to the crowd, there were moans heard, probably from not being able to know what was going to be said to the newly appointed trainers. Mr. Dunbar just stood in the same spot on the marble stage, with his soft eyes closed and a smile across his face, watching as the people one by one left the ballroom. When the ballroom was empty, save for the trainers and Mr. Dunbar, he turned to them and began to explain what they still had to do.

“Ah yes,” he said, turning to face the variety of trainers, “As you all know, you all are to start your very own Pokemon journey today. But in order to do that, it would make sense for the town to provide you with your very own starter. Unlike other towns in the neighboring areas, we do not necessarily give every trainer the pick of the usual Charmander, Squirtle, or Bulbasaur. We instead send each trainer out into a secluded valley, with a plethora of wild Pokemon running wild. But don’t worry, we are not sending you out into wild Pokemon territory alone, those special pokeballs I handed to you when you came up are no ordinary pokeballs. They are specially designed to have an increased capture rate signal when in the area that we send you out to.

That being said, each and every one of you has one hour to say good-bye to your parents, go home and finish any last minute packing, or whatever it is you may want to do. At the end of one hour, every person here is to return to this room with your pokeball and whatever you are bringing with you on your journey. I will see you in one hour.” when Mr. Dunbar finished his monologue to the trainers, he waved farewell to them, and walked away toward the giant oak double doors, leaving the trainers to do what ever they wanted to do for the next hour.

*******************

“So I see, that’s why he kept you after,” Danny was talking with his father about the conversation he and the other trainers had recently had with Mr. Dunbar. “So instead of just giving everyone a regular starter, they make you catch your own. Sounds interesting.” continued Danny’s father, scratching his light blonde hair covered head with his hand.

“Yea, I’m actually kind of glad. I mean, if I didn’t want to start off with either of the three starters, I can now pick any Pokemon I may come across in the valley that we’re going to. Heh, I have no idea what kind of Pokemon I may come across though.” Danny then glanced over to the giant clock on top of the building where he had had his ceremony, and noticed that it was 1:07P.M. “Well, I have about ten minutes left before I have to be back inside, so I’m going to go head back inside, I guess this is good-bye for now then, huh?”

“Yea, I guess so. Just make sure you come and visit every once in a while, and don’t forget to call.” Danny’s dad opened his big arms, and embracing his son in a big hug. “I’m going to miss you Danny. Take care.”

“Don’t worry about me dad, I’ll be just fine. Make sure you tell mom and Andrew that I said bye, and I wish they could be here right now.” replied Danny, releasing his father from the hug, and heading towards the oak doors of the building, slinging his book bag he had packed earlier that morning over his shoulder, lifting up his arm one final time to say farewell to his dad.

*******************

“Ahh, good, all of you have returned. I was afraid that one of you might not make it in time for your very first official capture.” Mr. Dunbar was standing in the middle of the stage, glancing at the ballroom with the thirty-six trainers spread out amongst each other. “Now, I need each of you to take out your special pokeball and follow me”

Mr. Dunbar walked over to the side of the great stage, and walked slowly down the few stairs leading to the floor. He made sure that everyone was ready, and then began to walk towards a small concealed door at the corner of the room. He turned around to the group, and said one last thing before they left.

“Now everyone, before we go out and head towards the valley, are all of you sure you want to go on this journey? Some of you may not live, because the world shows no mercy to anyone, not even the best of the best.” he looked over the crowd, to see most of the faces of the teenagers smiling at the oncoming challenge, seeing as most of them had lived in this town for their entire life, a town that usually had little to none action in it at all. “Now if you will, follow me now.”

Mr. Dunbar opened the door to reveal a long dark hallway. Danny and the others stepped into the hallway, and when everyone was present, Mr. Dunbar flipped a light switch to reveal tiny lights located evenly along the stony walls of the hallway, revealing it to actually be a cold dark tunnel. He asked the last person who entered the hallway to close the door, reminding everyone that this was there last chance to back down. When no-one answered him again, he proceeded down the long, damp tunnel.

Had a lot of free time so I decided to work on Chapter 2

Hope you like

Chapter Two:

Danny and the others in the group traveled down the long tunnel, illuminated only by the light bulbs scattered along the damp walls. Danny checked his phone, seeing that it was 2:02P.M., meaning that they had been in this tunnel for roughly half and hour.

“Mr. Dunbar, just exactly how long is this tunnel?” Danny finally asked, when it seemed that there was no end at all to the tunnel. “We’ve been in here for about thirty minutes.”

Mr. Dunbar stopped where he was, causing a few people to grunt in pain due to colliding with the person in front of them after abruptly stopping in the dark tunnel. “I’m glad you asked that Danny, judging by how long we’ve been in here, I’m going to say only about five more minutes.” Mr. Dunbar turned back around and continued walking, with the rest of the group following.

*******************

“Ok, here we are,” Mr. Dunbar said, turning to the group when they finally reached the end of the long tunnel. “Now does everyone have their pokeball out? If not, get it out before you go any further, for when we enter the valley, any and all Pokemon you see are catch able.”

Mr. Dunbar gave everyone a minute to grab there pokeball, and then opened the old battered steel door on the wall, and a bright light and feeling of warmth engulfed Danny and the rest of the group. Danny stepped into the valley, to see the most beautiful thing he had every seen in his entire life.

The valley was gigantic, and covered in lush green grass. Scattered throughout the valley were giant magnificent trees, with bright green leaves spread out upon the great branches. There was a warm, delightful aroma about, engulfing Danny in its scent.

“Well, it seems that all of you are stupefied with the fact that this valley existed, aren’t you?” Mr. Dunbar asked, giving out a hardy laugh. “Now, there is just one more thing I must tell you. Scattered throughout Kanto there are Pokemon Centers as you all must know. Now in these Centers you will find a few computers, each one with a transporting device. In order to transfer Pokemon back and forth between yourself and me, you must use this computer to contact me, and we will transfer your Pokemon over.”

“Well, what are you all waiting for?” Mr. Dunbar asked everyone, now that he was done explaining how to work the computers, “I told you that you’re here to catch a Pokemon to use as a starter, so go ahead.”

Mr. Dunbar stepped back a little to lean against the steel door from which they had just entered, and sat down. Danny and the others walked out into the valley, taking in more and more of its beauty every step they took. Danny stared at everything he saw, but mostly taking in the variety Pokemon that there was in this valley. He saw many specimen running around, ranging from bug-types hanging out in the trees, to flying-types soaring freely in the sky above.

In the sky he saw Pidgey and Pidgeotto, the pigeon Pokemon. These two species he saw had feathers of two different shades of brown, and black spots surrounding their eyes. He saw Spearow and Fearow as well. The Spearow were small bird like Pokemon, with a wide variety of feathers sprouting from around its head. It had bright red colored wings, and a pure white underbelly. The Fearow were Pokemon, reminiscent of Spearow, though had the appearance of a large bird. They had large wings colored in shades of brown, an orange crest on its head, and a very long and narrow beak.

Along with the Spearow and Pidgey families flying above head, there were also Pokemon from the Johto region. He saw Leyba and Ledian, both of which resembled ladybirds, having a red thorax with black spots, a cream-colored underbelly, six legs and two black antennae. He also noticed Hoppip and Skiploom, the cottonweed Pokemon, who were being carried away by the gentle breeze that was blowing across the valley. He also noticed Yanma, who had the physical appearance of a dragonfly. It had a large green head, sitting on top of a long red thorax, six legs and two pairs of wings. Its head has a pair of segmented eyes and two red spikes on top.

When he took a closer look, he noticed that there was also a few Pokemon from the Hoenn region. He noticed Taillow and Swellow, who resembled a swallow or a swift, with streamlined shape and light body to aid in ease of flight. The top half of its chest is red and the bottom half is white. It also has a long tail to help with balance. He also saw a Swablu flying with the other flying-type Pokemon. The Swablu was a small, blue and fat bird, having a shape similar to a robin, having two noticeable feathers coming from its head, a white beak and most prominently, a large cotton wing coming from each side of its head. The Swablu’s wings were fluffy and light, having the same characteristics of that of a cloud.

He noticed a plethora of Pokemon running around on the ground, to many for him to even notice. From the ones that he recognized he saw Rattata, the small purple rat Pokemon, Pikachu, the mouse Pokemon with yellow fur with brown stripes on its backs, black-tipped ears, and an unusually shaped tail, resembling a lightning bolt. He saw Oddish and Bellsprout running around as well. Both of these Pokemon resembled plants, Oddish looking like an onion plant, having a dark blue body, and bright green leaves, and Bellsprout having a skinny body and legs, resembling roots of a plant. It had two light green leaves sprouting out of its sides as its arms, and a flower bud for its head. He noticed Sentret, the Scout Pokemon, resembling a flying squirrel with rabbit ears, and a large round fluffy tail. He also saw a Marill, the aqua mouse Pokemon. It had a large round blue body, with a white underbelly. It had short stubby arms and legs, with large round ears, and a long skinny black tail with a blue ball at the tip, looking like a buoy.

He saw a Poochyena, and a Zigzagoon restlessly wandering around on the ground. It had bristly fur on its back, two different shades of brown. It had a dark brown face, with a black mask like that of a raccoon, and its body consisting of the same shade of brown as that of the face, and a lighter shade of brown. The two shades of brown covering the Zigzagoon had a pattern of light brown, then dark brown, and repeating all the way down to its bushy tail. He noticed a bright red line running through the grass, and thought that it must be a Kecleon, the Pokemon resembling a chameleon. He couldn’t be sure if it was or wasn’t, but assumed it was since Kecleon could change its coloration to match that of its surrounding, though its zigzagged line never changed.

Flying through the trees he noticed an Aipom, a monkey with grape colored fur, and a large three-digit hand at the end of its tail. On its face there was a maniacal grin and a blank stare, with a large purple fluff of hair sticking out of the top of its head.

Danny decided that he would take a brake from in taking all there was to this glorious valley, and go see what kind of Pokemon the other trainers were searching for. He saw a girl standing on a tree branch. She grabbed her pokeball from inside the pocket of her jacket, and pressed the small button located in the middle of the outer shell of the bal, enlarging it to be able to capture Pokemon. She heaved the green bal towards a lone Pidgey flying by. The small bird saw the incoming ball, and turned around and began flapping its wings violently, causing a forceful gust of wind to knock back to pokeball. The pokeball flew past the girls head, hitting a small worm like Pokemon on the head. The Pokemon that the pokeball came in contact with was a Caterpie, one of the weaker Pokemon, often the prey for Pidgey, Spearow, and their respective evolved forms. She screamed with terror at the thought of catching a Caterpie as her beginning Pokemon, and jumped down the tree towards her pokeball. By the time she had reached the ball, it had finished shaking, showing that the Pokemon had been successfully captured.

“Dammit, what a worthless Pokemon!” she exclaimed, dropping to her knees while staring at her pokeball.

Danny walked over to her, hoping that he could possibly cheer her up. “Tough luck, eh?” he asked her, giving a slight chuckle at the thought that she caught such a weak Pokemon. “Look on the bright side though, once it evolves into a Butterfree it becomes quite a talented Pokemon.”

“Yea, I guess you’re right,” she replied to him, with an expression of sorrow and frustration on her face. “The problem is that since they’re so weak, it’s going to be a pain in both mine and his ***.” she stood up and dusted all of the accumulated dirt off from her pants, extending her hand out towards Danny. “Name’s Hiromi, yours?”

“Danny,” he responded, grasping Hiromi’s hand in his and shaking it. Hiromi had bright blue eyes, and tame light blonde hair.

“So have you caught your starter yet?” she asked, releasing Danny’s hand from hers.

“No, not yet. I was looking for one when I saw what happened with you and that Pidgey.” he responded, laughing again at the fact that she and unintentionally caught Caterpie instead of Pidgey. “Well, I suppose I should keep looking, it was nice meeting you.” Danny began to leave, but Hiromi stopped him and asked him a question.

“Danny, wait,” she began to ask. “What’s you cell number, it’d be nice to have someone to talk to sometimes over the course of this journey, since most of my friends are going separate ways.”

Danny grabbed a piece of paper and a pen from inside his book bag, and wrote down his phone number, as Hiromi did the same. “Here,” he said, handing her the tiny piece of paper, and accepting the paper from her. “Good luck to you.” Danny said, as he left to go search for his very own Pokemon.

*******************

After about another thirty minutes of searching, Danny got tired at the fact that he didn’t find any Pokemon that struck him as the perfect starter. He decided that it might be time to eat, seeing as he hadn’t eaten anything since breakfast earlier. He sat down under a giant oak tree, and grabbed some food out from a side pocket in his book bag. Just as he began to unwrap a sandwich from a foil wrapper, a mysterious Pokemon jumped at him, grabbing his food from him and ran away.

“What the hell?!” Danny exclaimed, jumping up and flinging his book bag back over top his shoulders. “Get back here you *******, that’s my sandwich!” He began to chase after the Pokemon that had stolen his food, having no idea what species it was. He grabbed his pokeball out from inside his belt, and pressed the button to enlarge it. As he began to catch up with the Pokemon, it abruptly turned and ran into a hole in an old decaying tree. Danny slowed down, and got onto his knees to see what he had been chasing. As he looked into the hole, a giant burst of mud flew into his face, disgusting him more than hurting him. He shoved his hand blindly into the hole, and felt around for the Pokemon, knowing it was somewhere in the small hole. When he finally felt something cold and hard, he clamped his hand shut and grabbed the Pokemon out, revealing an Aron, a tiny Pokemon with a body of steel. It had a small iron clad body, with four tiny legs coming out of its underbelly. It had a head, equal in size to its body, with blue eyes, and a handle coming out from the middle of its back.

“Well, well, well, look at what we have here,” Danny remarked at the Aron, looking it right in the eyes. “You do know that that was my lunch you stole back there?” Danny continued to hold the Aron, while looking to see if his sandwich was still in the hole, preferably in one piece. “You ate my lunch…” he responded, when he didn’t find any remains of it, not even the foil wrapping.

“Aaaaarr-arron” the Aron growled cheerfully, closing its bright blue eyes and smiling at Danny. Aron reminded Danny of the Poochyena that he had left back home, using its cuteness to its advantage as to escape from trouble.

“You remind me of someone I know,” Danny told the Aron, setting it down on the ground. As he let go, the Aron immediately jumped back up to Danny, expecting to be grabbed and held. Danny caught Aron in his arms, with a surprised look on his face. “Wow, hey. What is it Aron, you lonely?”

“Arrrrrrooon!” it mumbled back, nuzzling its head on Danny’s chest.

“Well, I guess that means only one thing,” he said, dropping his pokeball on top of Aron’s head. Aron disappeared in a bright gleam of red light coming out of the pokeball. As the light enveloped Aron, it flew back into the pokeball. The knob in the center of the pokeball turned red, and shook rapidly and violently. After a few seconds though, the ball calmed down, and the knob turned a normal white color, meaning that Aron had been successfully capture.

“Heh, well, looks like I have my starter now.” Danny said, staring at the pokeball, containing the freshly captured Aron. “I guess I should go see Mr. Dunbar one last time, see if he has any words of advice as to where I should start.” Danny began to trek off across the magnificent valley, in search of where Mr. Dunbar was. “I guess I should let Aron out, get to know him a little better.” Danny flung Aron’s ball up into the sky, and the same bright red light that engulfed Aron when capturing him now hit the ground, and Aron materialized from the light.

“Aron!” it barked, looking around to see where it was.

“Hey there Aron,” Danny said, leaning down and petting Aron on the head. “You’re mine now, meaning that we’ll be traveling around with each other. How does that sound to you?”

“Aro-aron!” it responded, jumping up and down in glee to show its excitement.

“Hey, come on then, we’ve got to go talk to someone before we leave.” Danny told his Pokemon, as they began walking towards to entrance.

*******************

Danny and Aron finally made it to the entrance of the valley, and saw Mr. Dunbar still sitting in the same position as he was when they first left.

“Mr. Dunbar!” Danny called out to him, waving his hand so that Mr. Dunbar could see him.

“Ho-ho,” Mr. Dunbar chuckled, glad to see Danny again, “Danny, welcome back. And it looks like you caught yourself an Aron as well. Quite an impressive accomplishment.” he got up and leaned over to pat Aron on its head, to get a cry of joy out of the Pokemon.

“Mr. Dunbar, I have a question for you.” Danny told him, continuing with what he was saying. “I was wondering, where do you think I should go from here?” he asked, curious as to where Mr. Dunbar would tell him to begin his journey.

“Well Danny, the closest town from here is Viridian City, and then from there go north through the Viridian Forest and towards Pewter City, where you can fight your first gym battle.” Mr. Dunbar explained, as Danny listened to his directions. “From Pewter, head through Mt. Moon and then Cerulean. Here, I’ll give you a map to show you.” Mr. Dunbar pulled out a map from inside his pocket, and handed it to Danny. “Good luck on your journey, and be safe,” he said, with a hospitable smile on his face.

“Thanks, Mr. Dunbar.” Danny said, taking the map from Mr. Dunbar and putting it in his book bag. “Well, I guess I’ll leave now. Tell my parents I’ll miss them for me, will you?”

“Sure thing Danny.” he said, patting Danny on the shoulder, and petting Aron’s head.

“Come on Aron, we’re leaving,” he called to his Pokemon, and they both went through the tunnel one last time.

After a while, Danny and Aron made it out of the damp tunnel, and were back in the ballroom where the entrance to the tunnel was.

“Ahh, glad to be out of that tunnel,” Danny remarked after both him and Aron made it out. “Well Aron, time to head to Viridian City, you ready?” he asked his Pokemon, getting a bark back as a sign of comprehension, showing Danny that Aron was ready to travel.

Chapter Three's done, and an important character is going to be revealed, enjoy

Chapter Three:

Danny and Aron continued down the long and dusty road, following the map which Mr. Dunbar had given to him back in the valley. The map said that if he continued down this road, he would eventually come into the quaint town of Viridian.

“How you doing Aron?” Danny asked affectionately, looking down at his Aron, who he believed to have lived in the valley its entire life.

“Arr-onn-onn” the tiny Pokemon responded, looking up at Danny with its bright, ice blue colored eyes.

Danny grinned, looking back at the road ahead. They had been traveling just under a day in total, but Danny and Aron seemed to know each other pretty well in that short amount of time. Just then out of nowhere a tiny bolt of electricity came flying at Danny, striking the ground just a few inches from where he was. After the smoke from the impact cleared, all that was left of the ground was a large patch of smoking ash.

“What the hell?!” Danny questioned, spinning around turning red in the face. “Whoever or whatever shot that better show your face!”

Just then, a boy who looked about the same age as Danny jumped out of a nearby tree, landing on top of the singed ground. “What are you going to do?” the mysterious boy asked him nonchalantly, looking Danny right in the eyes. He had dull grey eyes, and fair length the same color as his eyes. He had on a vest the color of dirt, with six pockets evenly spaced out around each half of the vest, similar to that of Danny’s belt. Underneath the vest he wore an lighter brown covered shirt tucked into a pair of brown pants.

“Grr, what’s with the attitude, and where did that electricity come from?” Danny asked, cooling down while his face turning back to its normal color.

“Hmm, Magnemite, show yourself!” he yelled, as a small solid ball of metal with a pair of horseshoe magnets on both sides floated down and levitated next to the mysterious boy. “This is my Magnemite, it was the one that shot the electricity at you. Well technically, I was aiming at that Aron at your side, so it seems Magnemite still needs to practice its aim.”

“Where do you get off using my Aron as your Magnemite’s target practice?” Danny angrily asked, clenching his fist. “If you want target practice, use some trees or whatever.”

“I would, but that wouldn’t have gotten a reaction out of you, now would it?” he asked, his voice deprived of any emotion at all.

“Aron, you ready for your first battle, were kicking this guys ass” Danny said to his Aron, who was eager to get some revenge on the boy and Magnemite as well.

“Battle, huh? You could have at least had the courtesy to ask me if I felt like battling” he said, raising his eyebrow at Danny, and nodding to his Magnemite to fight.

“You should have had the courtesy to let me know you were shooting electricity at me.” Danny said, raising his eyebrow in a similar fashion as that of the other boy to annoy him.

“Touché. On that note, I think I’ll start things off.” he replied, remaining unmoved at Danny’s sarcastic remark. “Magnemite, Supersonic!”

As he yelled the command to his Magnemite, a noise greater than that of the speed of sound smashed into Aron, causing him to wince in pain.

“Aron, come on, you’re better than that!” Danny cheered, hoping that Aron would break free of the horrific noise. “Aron, if you can hear me, use Dig to escape the Supersonic!”

Aron heard the command, and dug his petite claws into the ground, frantically digging a hole large enough to climb into. When the hole was big enough, Aron climbed down into it, escaping the supersonic attack from the opposing Magnemite.

“Hmph, not good enough,” the other boy rudely remarked. “Go, Thunderwave.” Upon hearing the command, Magnemite’s two magnets on the side of its tiny body began to spark with bright blue jolts of electricity. It hovered toward the hole Aron had dug, and shot the sparks down the hole. “Game over,” he mumbled to himself, shoving his hand in his pants pocket. “The moment that Thunderwave connects with that Aron of yours, it’ll be paralyzed all the way down there, with no way to escape.”

“Well then, I guess I’ll just have to make sure that it doesn’t make it to Aron.” Danny said, a grin appearing on his face. “Aron, Mud Slap!” he yelled, recalling the attack that Aron had used on him when they first met. He thought that if the mud and the electricity collided with each other, the mud would nullify the electric type attack, leaving Magnemite open for a quick counter attack.

Everything was calm for about a minute. Neither Danny nor the other boy knew if Magnemite’s Thunderwave had made contact. Danny held his breath, hoping that his and Aron’s very first battle wouldn’t come as a defeat, thinking it might ruin any confidence Aron had for itself.

Just then, a giant mix of dirt and water shot out of the hole that Aron had dug in the ground, smacking straight into Magnemite. Emerging from the hole was Aron, covered in same mud as Magnemite now was.

“Aron, alright!” Danny exclaimed, jumping up and down with glee that his Pokemon had come out of the hole unharmed.

“Hmm, lucky shot,” the boy said, his facial expression and tone not changing at all. He then gave Magnemite another command, saying only, “Thundershock.”

Danny was caught off guard at the fact that the mud covered Magnemite was still able to attack that he didn’t have enough time to call out a counter attack. The mud covering Magnemite’s magnets shot off in all directions, revealing this time bright yellow electricity overflowing out of it. The magnets slightly bent backwards, as the sparks grew larger around the magnets. When Magnemite had accumulated enough electricity, it shot its magnets forwards towards Aron, shooting of a single bolt of electricity. The bolt hit Aron square on the handle growing out of its back, which acted like a lightning rod.

“Arrrooooonnnnn!” it screamed in pain, as the steel and rock Pokemon was being electrocuted. It collapsed onto the ground, and mumbled its name so low that it was almost incomprehensible.

“Aron, get up!” Danny frantically yelled, hoping that Aron was going to be ok.

“It’s over,” the boy said, beginning to walk away. “Aron won’t get up after an attack like th--”

As he was talking, a low grumbling noise interrupted him, and Aron rose to its feet.

“Aro-ron!” it exclaimed, looking ready to fight again.

“What the hell!?” the boy exclaimed, with confusion in his voice. “How is that Pokemon able to fight, it was hit it dead on by my Magnemite’s Thundershock!”

Of course, Danny thought to himself, The mud covering Aron‘s body must have nullified the effect of Thundershock, saving Aron from most of the damage.

“It was the Mud Slap,” Danny explained, a grin appearing over his face. “When Aron jumped out of the hole he was covered in mud, right? So when your Thundershock hit Aron, the mud covering his body protected him!”

“Hmph, so what? You and that Aron still won’t win.” he said, his voice calming down.

“Well see about that. Aron, Tackle!” Danny yelled, punching the air in front of him as he called out the attack.

Aron charged at Magnemite, ramming its hard head straight into Magnemite’s tiny body. Magnemite was sent flying back down onto the ground. Magnemite defectively rose back into the air and began hovering again. Although this time Magnemite didn’t look like it take too much damage, after being hit by a Mud Slap and now a forceful Tackle.

“Grr….Magnemite, you’re stronger than that, use your own Tackle!” the other boy yelled, his voice again turning fearful.

“Aron, retaliate back with your Headbutt!” commanded Danny.

Aron and Magnemite raced towards each other, each staring the other in the eye. Their attacks connected, Aron smashing his head into Magnemite’s small body, and Magnemite ramming Aron at the same time. The two steel Pokemon were sent flying back, landing near their respective trainers. Both Pokemon weakly muttered their names, wincing in pain.

“Magnemite, I caught you because you’re supposed to be a powerful Pokemon, don’t lose to that Aron.” the boy crudely said to his Magnemite, who was trying its hardest to get airborne once more.

“Aron, I know you can get up, because you have a greater will to win.” Danny cheered onto Aron.

Aron began to rise to its tiny feet, while Magnemite remained on the floor. After what felt like an eternity, Aron finally stood up on all four feet, and exclaimed its name.

“As you said earlier, game over.” Danny remarked to the other boy, saying exactly what he had said earlier in the battle.

“Tsk,” he said, reaching into a pocket in his vest and pulling out a red and white pokeball and pressing the button in the middle of it to enlarge it. “Magnemite, return.” A gleam of red light engulfed Magnemite, then returning back to the pokeball. “We’ll meet again, and when we do, you won’t be so lucky.” He began to turn around, but Danny stopped him.

“What’s your name?” asked Danny.

“It’s common courtesy to give your name first you know.” he scornfully answered. “But since you won, I’ll tell you. My name’s Chad.”

“Chad, huh, I’ll remember that. My name’s Danny.” he replied, walking over to Aron. “So what are you, a trainer, wanderer, what?”

“Trainer, and I have to be going now.” Chad replied, walking off back into the forest of trees.

“What a weird guy, eh Aron?” he asked Aron, who seemed to be fine after that battle. “By the way Aron, that was an awesome fight there. I admit I was worried for a second there after that Thundershock hit you, but you pulled it off.” he praised, as Aron cheered for its first victory.

*******************

“Finally, Viridian City!” Danny exclaimed, glad to finally be out of the long twisting dirt road. He admired the charming city from where he stood, looking at all the shops, buildings, and people there were to see. “Well Aron, I guess we should head for the Pokemon Center, to have your wounds healed.”

“Aron-on-on!” Aron responded, jumping up and down, glad to be off the road as well.

Danny and Aron walked around the town, until they saw a giant white building with a bright red roof. On the roof there was a white symbol, the shape of a pokeball. It had grand, clear blue sliding doors, and windows scattered around evenly on the walls.

As Danny and Aron walked inside the cool building, Danny noticed another trainer sitting on a semi-circular couch in the corner of the room. The trainer that Danny saw was holding a green colored pokeball, similar to that of Aron’s pokeball.

“Hey,” Danny called out to the trainer sitting on the couch. “Are you a beginning trainer? I noticed your green pokeball, and I just got one a few days ago.”

“No, I actually started last year,” he said, pushing the button on the pokeball to shrink it. “So it’s safe to assume you’re a new trainer?”

“Heh, yea. Started just roughly a day ago.” Danny answered, taking a seat next to the trainer.

“Cool, cool. I remember when I first started, it took forever to get to here because of this guy right here.” he said, tossing the tiny pokeball up and down in his hand. “Want to meet him?”

“Sure. Oh, and this here is my starter, Aron.” Danny said, picking up Aron and rubbing its tiny metallic head.

“Aron, that’s a pretty rare find, congrats.” he said, showing a little surprise that a beginner had managed to capture a Pokemon such as Aron. “Anyway, here’s my starter……” he extended the last syllable of what he was saying, expecting Danny to tell him his name to formally introduce his starter Pokemon.

“Oh, sorry. My name’s Danny, nice to meet you.”

“Conner. As I was saying, here’s my starter Danny.” he enlarged his pokeball, and tossed it onto the floor in front of them. From the emerging light materialized a pitch-black hound like Pokemon. The Pokemon had two crooked horns growing from atop its head, right above tiny ears. It had bright red eyes, and a dark brown muzzle and underbelly, and two rings stacked on each other on each foot. It had three bony semicircles growing on its back, along with a bony collar around the neck. The horns, rings, collar and growths on its back were all similar in appearance to that of bone. Its tail was long and thin, with a speared tip.

“Amazing, that’s a Houndoom.” Danny commented, stunned by the presence of such a marvelous beast sitting in front on him.

“Correct, but I got it has a Houndour, and through all its rigorous training, evolved in this Houndoom you see here.” Conner said, scratching Houndoom’s head, as its tongue lapped outside of its mouth. “We’ve been through a lot together, haven’t we mutt?”

“Arrff” Houndoom replied, in a deep voice. Houndoom laid down onto the floor, and sprawled its legs out, stretching.

“So have you made it past all eight gyms, or to the Indigo Plateau?” Danny curiously asked, wanting to hear some of Conner’s travel stories.

“Yea, I have all eight gyms badges, and competed in the Indigo Plateau. I did fairly ok, came in top 16. 12th place to be exact.” Conner said, sounding a little disappointed in his feat.

“Top 16 is awesome!” Danny exclaimed. “I hope that when I make it into the Indigo Plateau I can make it at least that far. So are you planning on entering again this year?”

“No, I plan on heading to the Johto region now, I just came to Viridian because my parents live about a days walk away from here.” he said, glancing at a clock on the wall behind them. “Well, I suppose I should leave now if I want to make it home before nightfall. It was nice meeting you Danny.” he said, extending one hand out to Danny, and the other he used to recall the sprawled out Houndoom.

“Nice meeting you too, Conner.” Danny said, grasping his hand, shaking it. Conner got up, and went over to a reception desk at the other end of the large building, and spoke with the lady behind the counter. After a little conversing between the two, the lady walked back into a door behind her, and came back about a minute later with a tray of five red and white pokeballs. Conner took the pokeballs, and left out the clear blue doors.

“See that Aron, with hard work and determination we too can make it into the Indigo Plateau.” Danny told Aron, who was still sitting in his lap.

Danny got up, setting Aron back onto the ground, and walked over to the same receptionist whom Conner had just talked to.

“Hi, I’d like to leave my Aron here for a little while. It got a little banged up in a battle not to long ago.” Danny explained, picking up Aron and placing him on the table in front of the receptionist.

“I’d be glad to,” she said, grinning and picking up Aron. “May I ask your name, so I can call you when Aron is ready to be picked up.”

“Danny, and I’ll probably just be sitting in the couch over there anyway.”

“Ok Danny, I’ll call you when Aron is ready.” she said, walking into the room where she had retrieved Conner’s Pokemon.

Danny walked over to the couch, and fell down into one of the soft comfortable cushions. Finally, some rest and relaxation for the both of us.

Yea, Chad was the important character that I revealed. As for Conner, I dont have any plans at the moment, but he may make a return. I added Conner because I needed a character to talk to Danny about hard work, etc.

Glad you enjoyed the chapter

Chapter 4, enjoy

Chapter Four:

“Here’s your Aron back Danny,” the receptionist said, handing Aron back into Danny’s arms. “Stay safe on your journey.”

“Thank you.” Danny replied, putting Aron down onto the ground, walking out of the building. “Aron, you ready? Today we’re going to be going through the Viridian Forest, then making our way to Pewter City.”

“Arr-o-oron!” Aron replied back, grinning up at Danny.

Danny and Aron made their way north, heading towards a rest stop that they saw on the horizon. On their way there, they took in all the sights that were to be seen. They saw Pokemon flying high up in the sky, the sun glaring in their eyes, making the Pokemon unable to recognize. They also saw many trees surrounding them, filled with many different sounds coming from inside of them. When they finally made it to the rest stop, Danny was greeted by a familiar face.

“Danny, hey over here!” came a voice that Danny recognized.

“Hiromi, hey.” Danny greeted, as he saw the teenage girl running over towards him. “What’s up?”

“Not much, I was just about to make my way through the Viridian Forest, when I heard the doors open. I turned around out of curiosity to see who was coming in, and saw you.” she explained, running her delicate hands through her long blonde hair.

“Oh, you’re going through the forest? Me too.” explained Danny, as Aron walked up next to him.

“Cool, you’re--” she paused, staring down at Aron. “Wow, you managed to catch an Aron? Is that your starter?” she asked, stunned at the fact that Danny had captured an Aron.

“Yup, captured him not to long after you caught your Caterpie.” Danny told her, bending down to pet Aron’s head. “By the way, how’s that thing doing?”

Hiromi reached into the crimson red colored bag she wore on her back, pulling out the familiar looking pokeball. She gave it a slight toss into the air, and from inside the ball came a bright green chrysalis Pokemon. The only visible characteristics that made it seem like a Pokemon were two white eyes, staring emptily into space.

“Managed to evolve it into Metapod.” she said, holding the chrysalis in her arms. “But contrary to what I thought, it wasn’t hard at all to evolve. I’ve had it only a day or two, and its evolved already.”

“Cool, one step closer to having a Butterfree I suppose.” Danny said, shocked that her Pokemon had evolved in such a short amount of time.

“Yea, but unfortunately I have no idea how long it’ll take for it to hatch into one.” Hiromi said, looking a little disappointed. “So yea, you’re going through Viridian Forest you said?” she asked, her look of disappointment vanishing.

“Yea.”

“Nice, so how about traveling together?” she asked, beginning to blush.

“Yea, alright. Beats traveling alone through a dark forest.” he agreed.

“Arr-oo-on!” Aron chirped, jumping up and down, seemingly happy to have someone else to travel with.

“Well, shall we go?” Danny asked them, beginning to walk towards the other end of the station. Hiromi and Aron followed behind, and all three of them left the building and entered the Viridian Forest.

“It’s amazing,” Danny said, staring blankly at the lively forest.

The Forest was covered in large trees, all with brilliant dark green and brown leaves. There was glimmers of light shining down through the gaps between leaves, and there was a small trickling stream heard somewhere in the distance. Above head there was an assortment of flying Pokemon. Danny saw Pokemon from the other regions, just like he had back at the valley a few days before. He saw above him Pidgey, Tailow, Spearow, and their respective evolutions, Pidgeotto, Swellow, and Fearow. He also saw the owl Pokemon, Hoothoot, scurrying across the forest floor in the distance.

“Wow, I never thought the Viridian Forest was this marvelous.” Hiromi said, sounding stunned at the appearance of the great forest.

Danny and Hiromi made their way through the forest, stopping to look at the scenery every so often. Finally, Danny stopped where he was and bent down to talk to Aron.

“Hey Aron, how about we do some training?” he curiously asked. “After that battle with Magnemite and Chad a little while ago, I think we should work on your attacks.”

“Arroon!” he replied, running around in circles where he stood, flinging dirt into the air.

“Alright then, lets see.” Danny said, looking around the forest, trying to find a good place to train. “A-ha, use you Headbutt attack on that tree over there.” he said, pointing at a decaying tree standing by the tiny stream that they had heard upon entering the forest.

Aron gave a tiny roared, and charged towards the tree that his owner was pointing at. Aron rammed its miniature head straight into the tree, causing many decomposed leaves to fall onto the ground.

“Aron, one more time!” Danny yelled, thrusting his arm in the direction of the tree that Aron was training on.

Aron once again rammed its head into the tree, causing leaves again to fall to the ground. Although this time, six tiny pink oval shaped egg like Pokemon fell onto the ground as well. Each of these eggs had a distinct expression upon its face, and each one had a crack of some sort, with one or two having yolk exposed.

“Exeggcute!” the six eggs yelled in unison, looking angrily around for the source of their disruption. When they spotted Aron ramming into the tree from which they came from, they inhaled air into their lungs, and released it all in a great cloud of yellow powder.

“Aron, look out!” Hiromi screamed to Aron, who was still practicing Headbutt. “That Pokemon is using its Stun Spore, if you get hit you’ll be paralyzed!”

Aron turned around, just in time to spot the Stun Spore coming right at him. He jumped back, barely dodging the paralyzing attack.

“Aron, be careful!” Danny shouted, rushing over to stand behind Aron, preparing to fight. “We don’t know what kind of attacks this Pokemon has.”

“It’s the grass type Pokemon Exeggcute,” Hiromi interjected, calmly walking over to stand with Danny and Aron. “I’m not to sure, but I’m sure an Exeggcute at that level will probably know only a handful of attacks.”

“Like what?” Danny asked, interested to hear more about Exeggcute, before it got another chance to attack Aron.

“Most Exeggcute know attacks such as Sleep Powder, Poison Powder, and Stun Spore, as you saw.” she explained as if it were common knowledge. “They also have the attacks Leech Seed, Hypnosis, and Uproar, so I’d be careful if I were you.”

“Careful is my middle name,” Danny sarcastically responded, getting ready to fight this Exeggcute. “Alright Aron, since our Headbutt practice got interrupted, Exeggcute is our new target. Just make sure you don’t run into any of its Powder attacks.”

“Arronn-on!” Aron yelled, rushing towards the six eggs with extreme force. Aron made contact with one of the eggs, sending it flying back a little.

“Exeggcute-cute!” they yelled, as they rolled toward the injured egg, regrouping. When the Exeggcute were in one pack again, their eyes began to glow a bright shade of yellow.

“Aron! Don’t look into Exeggcute’s eyes, use Dig!” Danny ordered, knowing that Exeggcute was preparing to use its Hypnosis attack.

Aron began digging a hole in the ground where it was standing, soon disappearing from sight. The Exeggcute released their Hypnosis, knowing that Aron wasn’t going to be affected while it was underground. After they released their Hypnosis, they each separately rolled away, positioning themselves a set distance from each other.

“What are they doing?” Danny asked himself, trying to think of what good separating themselves would be.

As he was thinking, Aron emerged from the ground, smashing into what seemed to be the Exeggcute giving the orders to the other five. As he was sent flying, he yelled to the others, and each of them shot a tiny dull shaded seed towards Aron.

“Aron, Mud Slap all around you!” Danny yelled, hoping that the mud would kill the seeds.

Aron used his Mud Slap attack, while spinning at the same time. This caused a barrage of mud to fly into most of the seeds. Although the Mud Slap had managed to dispose of most of the seeds, one of them managed to still hit Aron. This seed hit Aron square on the head, and as it made contact with him giant roots began to rapidly sprout out, constricting his tiny body. These newly sprouted roots glowed a bright color of red, as Aron fell to the ground.

“Aron, what’s wrong?!” Danny yelled, concerned about the health of his Pokemon.

“It’s Leech Seed, it won’t disappear until either every last ounce of energy is drained from Aron, Exeggcute is immobilized, or they will the seeds gone.” Hiromi nervously said. She seemed worried that Danny was oblivious to the standard attacks such as Leech Seed, and that Aron was in trouble.

“Meta-pod.” the chrysalis Pokemon in her arms mumbled, beginning to shake.

“Metapod? What’s wrong?” Hiromi asked, now concerned about the wellbeing of her own Pokemon.

Metapod began to glow a bright white, and shook began shaking vigorously. After a few seconds of Metapod shaking like this, there was an explosion of bright white light, Metapod being the source of the explosion. When the explosion settled, the only thing left in Hiromi’s hand was a hollow, empty shell of what used to be Metapod. Flying above Danny and Hiromi’s head though was an attractive butterfly Pokémon with large red eyes, and a dark purple body.

“Meta…pod.” Hiromi said stunned, staring at the butterfly above head. “You evolved into a Butterfree…”

“Freeee….Freee” Butterfree chirped loudly, flying around above Hiromi’s head, exercising its newly acquired wings.

“You lucked out Danny.” Hiromi gloated, her fist clenching with excitement. “Butterfree, we’re helping out Danny’s Aron. Use Whirlwind on the Exeggcute!”

“Freee!” it yelled, as it flapped its wings at a high speed, releasing a strong gust of wind to blow away the Exeggcute. As the Exeggcute were blown away, they could no longer keep the hold on the Leech Seed binding Aron.

“Thanks Hiromi, I’ll take it from here!” Danny said, reaching into a container in his belt, retrieving a red and white pokeball. “Aron, this time when Exeggcute attacks, dodge with Dig again, and stay underground until you hear my command.”

“Aro-on!” Aron replied, ready to fight.

“Alright, this time lets try your Take Down!” Danny shouted, enlarging the pokeball in his hand.

Aron charged towards the Exeggcute, who were all beginning to gather after that Whirlwind attack. As soon as the Exeggcute gathered into a group again, Aron made contact with them, ramming through them, causing them all to fly into separate directions.

“Strike!” Danny exclaimed, rushing over towards Aron, to keep close track on the Exeggcute for the perfect capture moment. “Now quick, before hey get up. Tackle the Exeggcute with the arrogant look on its face!”

Aron looked around at the six Exeggcute, and quickly found the one it was looking for. He charged towards it, smashing into it before it got the chance to stabilize itself. The force from Aron’s Tackle attack caused Exeggcute to go flying into a nearby tree, knocking it out. Danny took this opportunity to throw the pokeball he had in his hand at the Exeggcute laying on the ground. When the pokeball made contact with the lead Exeggcute, the other five scattered Exeggcute also became engulfed in red light, and followed their leader into the pokeball. The pokeball landed on the ground below where the lead Exeggcute was laying just moments ago. The knob in the center of the ball began to glow red, and shook rapidly.

“Come on….work..” Danny mumbled under his breath through clenched teeth.

The pokeball continued to shake, while Danny held his breath. Finally the pokeball calmed down, and ceased its shaking.

“Finally,” Danny sighed, walking over to pick up the pokeball. “Exeggcute, looks like you’re my first capture. Hiromi, thanks for your help back there. You and Butterfree really helped me and Aron out. I owe you one.”

“No, don’t sweat it.” she said blushing. “I was only repaying the debt I owed to you, for helping me get through the Viridian Forest.”

“But still, thank you.” he said, tossing Exeggcute’s pokeball into the air.

The pokeball opened up, and the bright crimson red light shot straight down onto the ground, revealing the six Exeggcute that Danny had just captured.

“Exeggcute-egg-egg!” they yelled, jumping towards Danny’s face, knocking him down onto the ground.

“You stupid eggs!” Danny yelled back at them, staring them all in the eyes. “I am now your trainer, meaning I had better get the respect I deserve.”

“Cuuuute?” the Exeggcute sarcastically said, raising their eyebrows at Danny.

“Damn eggs.” Danny said under his breath, so that no one could hear him. “I have an idea Exeggcute. You like to hurt things?”

“Exe-cute!” they yelled, jumping up and down, showing that it agreed with Danny.

“Well, if you work with me and Aron, I can guarantee that you’ll be able to hurt a lot more things than if you stayed in this forest.” Danny said, smiling at Exeggcute, hoping that his plan would work.

“Exeggcute.” it said, inhaling. It then shot out a Stun Spore at Danny, paralyzing him.

“You….stupid…..egg…” Danny said, falling onto the ground, unable to move, as Exeggcute laughed at him.

“Heh,” Hiromi laughed at Danny, reaching into her bag, pulling out a tiny spray bottle, spraying Danny. “Here, take this Paralyze Heal.”

“Thanks,” Danny said, raising back up to his feet. “Exeggcute, you need to learn difference between friend and foe. Return.” Danny held up Exeggcute’s pokeball, and Exeggcute was sent back into it. “I’ll work on training him later I guess.”

“Aro-on!” Aron said, running in circles due to its victory.

“Well Aron, lets get back to your training. Let’s try and get a Metal Claw attack.”

“Aroo-on-Aron!” Aron yelled, awaiting Danny’s orders.

“Ok, lets see.” Danny said, thinking of a way in order for Aron to learn the Metal Claw attack. “Aha, I got it. Aron, go slash at that tree over there.”

“Aron!” it exclaimed, running over towards the tree and began to cut deep gashes into the bark.

“What good will that do?” Hiromi asked, petting her Butterfree on its soft head.

“It’ll strengthen Aron’s claws, allowing him to use the Metal Claw attack.” Danny explained, watching Aron continually clawing at the tree.

*******************

“Finally, out of the damned Forest!” Danny joyously exclaimed, emerging from the rest stop at the end of the forest. “You ready Aron? We’re going to the Pokemon Center first, then heading to the Pewter Gym, for our first badge.”

“Aron!” it weakly responded, tired from all of the training in the Viridian Forest.

Danny, Aron, Hiromi, and her Butterfree all made their way to the Pokemon Center, which was stationed not to far from the exit of the Viridian Forest.

“It looks the exact same as the center in Viridian City.” Danny commented, looking at the familiar setting of the Pokemon Center.

“That’s because they’re all modeled after one specific center, so not to confuse people.” Hiromi explained, making her way over to the receptionist to hand her Pokemon over for treatment.

Danny followed after her, returning Aron into his green pokeball. “Rest now Aron, for tomorrow we have a big day.” he said to Aron’s pokeball, handing it and Exeggcute’s pokeball over the counter to the receptionist.

great chapter, i wasn't home last night to comment. as siriku said there was one or two spelling mistakes. the capturing of execute(spelling) was interseting and well written. you know that if he you ever make them evolve that you're going to need to use leaf stone. having a group of pokemon in the same battle would be very useful, they can surround their opponent and use a combination of their three different powder attacks and leech seed to knock out their opponents.

P.S. i noticed that you changed the banner to show execute

Yup, Im going to be updating the banner after every capture and evolution, to keep up with my current team. And as for the group of pokemon battling, thats one reason I decided on Exeggute, as you can see from their battle with Aron when they surrounded him.

Glad you liked it ^__^
