Managed to finish Chapter 5 tonight, here it is. Enjoy

Chapter Five:

“Pewter City Gym, hunh?” Danny said, looking on at the gym standing in front of him.

“Yea, it’s gym leader, Brock, is known for using rock type Pokemon.” Hiromi explained, looking at the gym as well, amazed at the magnificent building in front of them.

“Well, let’s go Aron. With you, and hopefully Exeggcute, we’ll win our first badge.” Danny said to his Aron, opening the large doors made of stone.

Danny, Hiromi, and Aron walked into the gym, seeing one single long, narrow hallway. The three made their way down the hallway, lit only by light bulbs scattered upon the roof. After a few minutes of walking in silence, they finally made their way into what seemed like a large stadium. There were two large podiums stationed at each end of the rectangular stadium, one maroon, and the other a midnight blue. There were seats were set around the stadium, layered in different levels so that anyone in any seat may view the battle. The field inside the stadium itself was covered in colorless gravel, with large boulders randomly scattered around.

“So this is the stadium.” Danny said to himself, staring at the vast stadium before him.

“Quite a sight, isn’t it?” a mysterious voice from behind the three said.

Danny quickly spun around, to see a tall man standing behind him. This man had spiked up coffee colored hair, and his squinted eyes. He wore an ginger and grey colored vest, with a black colored t-shirt underneath. He wore a pair of olive colored pants.

“Who are you?!” Danny said, jumping back, startled at the sight of the man who had snuck up without being heard.

“What, the Pewter City Gym Leader isn’t recognized by challengers?” he sarcastically answered. “Name’s Brock, the gym leader of Pewter City.”

“You’re Brock!?” Danny said, pointing at Brock. “Well my name’s Danny, and I came here to challenge you for your Boulder Badge.”

“Heh, alright,” said Brock, chuckling under his breath. “Give me a minute to get ready. Go stand on one of those podiums over there.” he said, pointing to the red and blue podiums at the stadium.

“Hiromi, what are you going to do while I’m battling?” Danny asked her, before making his way to one of the podiums.

“I’ll probably just watch,” she responded heading over towards the bleachers at the side. “It’s not like I can actually challenge him with just Butterfree anyway.”

“Alright, wish me luck.” Danny said, rushing over and jumping up on the blue colored podium.

A minute later Brock came back and jumped onto the opposing pedestal. With him came an older man, dressed in a black and white stripped judges uniform. He walked over to a smaller dais on the side of the stadium, and began to announce the battle.

“The battle between the Pewter City Gym Leader, Brock, versus challenger, Danny, will now begin.” he announced, waving two flags up into the air, the same colors as the two podiums Danny and Brock were standing on. “The match will be two-on-two. The first contestant to defeat the others two Pokemon is the victor. Begin!”

“Since I’m the Gym Leader I’ll make the first move.” Brock said, heaving a pokeball into the stadium. The pokeball bounced off the stadium floor, revealing the rock type Pokemon Geodude. The Geodude was a rock head with no nose. It had long arms, starting with bulging muscles and rock hands resembling that of a human's. It was hovering off the ground, and cracking its knuckles, ready for a fight.

“Ok, Geodude I see.” Danny said, contemplating what Pokemon to use. “Aron, you’re up first!”

“Aron!” it said, jumping down onto the rock covered arena, staring down the competing Geodude.

“Aron, Mud Slap!” Danny commanded, pointing at the Geodude as he yelled the command.

Aron ran over towards the Geodude, and flung a mixture of water and soil forward.

“Geodude, Defense Curl to weaken the damage from the attack.” Brock calmly ordered, his arms folded across his chest.

Geodude put its arms over top its head, curling up into a ball. The Mud Slap attack made contact with the arched Geodude, not moving it at all. When Geodude removed its arms from over its face, it flung off the mud clinging to its body.

“Aron, lets try Headbutt instead.” Danny commanded, thinking that if Aron hit Geodude enough it wouldn’t be able to defend anymore.

Aron rushed towards Geodude, and before Brock could even open his mouth for an attack, rammed into Geodude, causing him to be sent flying clear across the field. Geodude slammed straight into one of the enormous boulders laying on the field, causing it to shatter.

“Go Danny! Go Aron!” Hiromi cheered from the stands, jumping up and down.

“Aron, finish it off quickly! Metal Claw!” as Danny yelled out the command to attack, Aron’s right foot began to glow a metallic color. His foot continued to glow until his entire foot was consumed in a blaze of a metallic tint.

Aron rushed towards Geodude, who was still dazed from the previous Headbutt. Aron jumped up, gaining momentum for its attack, and declined down towards Geodude. Aron brought down its claw, smashing into Geodude, causing an explosion of dust particles to scatter around the arena. When the dust cleared enough to see what was left of the stadium, Aron was standing in front of a giant pile of rubble.

“Geo-dude..” the rock Pokemon mumbled from under the wreckage. Its arm emerged from the rubble, soon followed by Geodude itself. Geodude seemed severely injured, with an entire chunk of rock from atop its head knocked off.

“Geodude, Mega Punch.” Brock commanded, not phased at all by the momentous attack from the tiny Aron.

Geodude’s hand began to glow with raw white energy, and charged at Aron. As Geodude flew toward Aron, it left behind a trail of energy from the Mega Punch.

“Aron, Iron Defense!” Danny yelled, knowing that if Aron used Iron Defense, Geodude’s Mega Punch wouldn’t do any damage, giving him the chance to defeat it.

Aron’s body began to glow, resembling that of Metal Claw. Geodude’s Mega Punch collided with Aron, but to no avail. Geodude shuddered, as the impact from the Mega Punch caused vibrations all through its body.

“Aron, quickly, finish it off with one more Metal Claw!”

Aron’s claw began to once again metallically glow. Aron lunged forward towards the immobilized Geodude, ramming its foot straight into its body. Geodude was sent flying back clear across the stage, crashing into a granite wall covering the arena.

“Geodude is unable to battle, round one goes to Danny and Aron.” the judge declared, waving a flag in Danny’s direction.

“Hell ya Aron!” Danny cheered, jumping up and down.

“Way to go Aron!” cheered Hiromi, jumping up and down in a similar fashion as Danny.

“I‘ll admit Danny, I’m surprised you managed to defeat Geodude.” Brock said, congratulating Danny. “But you won’t be able to defeat this. Onix, let’s go!” Brock flew his second pokeball into the stadium, this time unleashing a giant, serpentine rock type Pokemon. This Pokemon was composed of nothing but large boulders, and atop its giant head grew a large, smooth horn.

“Th--that’s humongous…” Danny stuttered, staring at the serpent ahead of him. “Aron can’t defeat something that much bigger than him.”

“Aron!” the tiny Pokemon growled, staring into the Onix’s eyes.

Aron, it doesn’t matter how much determination you have, there’s such a huge difference in size between the two of you, not to mention we’ve already used up two of your three Metal Claws in the fight with Geodude. Danny thought to himself, clenching his fists.

“Match Two, Onix versus Aron, begin!” the judge declared, waving up once again his flags.

“Onix, Tackle.” ordered Brock the moment the battle started.

Onix lunged towards Aron’s tiny body, giving a loud roar as it connected with Aron. Aron was sent flying back in a similar fashion as Geodude had done just moments beforehand.

“Aron!” Danny yelled, grasping the bars in front of him on the podium, resisting the urge to jump into the field and rescue Aron.

Aron managed to recover from the attack, rising back onto its feet. When Aron rose back up to its feet, it cringed with pain in its hind legs, unable to stand properly.

Only one chance at beating Onix right now, Danny contemplated, sweat dripping down his brow. I have to finish this off with Metal Claw.

“Aron, Metal Claw!” Danny screamed, knowing that if this Metal Claw didn’t grab him the victory, he would have to rely on Exeggcute.

Aron’s arm quickly exploded in a burst of light again, and he charged for the large stone serpent Pokemon.

“Onix, deflect it away with Iron Tail.” Brock commanded, as Onix gave a subtle growl.

Onix’s tail began to glow, identical to that of Aron’s Metal Claw. Aron continued to dash towards Onix, yelling its name as it ran. Onix gave a single swipe of its massive metallic tail, sending Aron straight back from where it came. Aron crashed into the wall yet again, but this time remained down, unable to get back onto its feet.

“Aron is unable to battle, round two goes to Brock!” the judge stated, waving one of his flags at Brock.

“Danny, give up now.” Brock said, chuckling under his breath. “You can’t defeat Onix, your Aron was useless against it.”

“Aron may not have defeated Onix,” Danny retaliated, returning Aron into his pokeball, at the same time reaching for Exeggcute’s. “But this next Pokemon will win for sure!” Danny flung the ball into the field, unleashing his six newly captured Exeggcute.

“Danny, be careful!” Hiromi warned, standing in the bleachers still.

Danny waved up his arm, letting Hiromi he heard her and not to worry. Exeggcute looked around where it was, noticing the large boulders and gravel all over the rock floor. The egg Pokemon noticed the large Onix staring them down, and became furious.

“Exeggcute-egg!” they yelled, not showing any signs of fear of the towering Pokemon before them.

“Good, Exeggcute isn’t worried at all, I guess that means I can calm down as well.” Danny said to himself, wiping the sweat off his forehead.

“Round three, Onix versus Exeggcute, begin!”

“Egg-Exeggcute-cute!” the Exeggcute yelled among themselves, scattering across the field to surround Onix.

“Please, if you think such a trivial tactic will work against me, you’ve lost this fight already.” Brock yelled over to Danny.

“I don’t think it’ll work, but I’m sure this will!” Danny yelled back, smirking. “Exeggcute, I’m not sure if this will work, but use Sleep Powder!”

The Exeggcute began to inhale deeply, then exerting a lime green powder towards Onix. Onix was confused, not sure as to what to do with a Sleep Powder attack coming at it from six different directions, surrounding it.

“Onix, Dig.” Brock ordered in a relaxed tone.

Onix dug a hole into the ground below it, disappearing from sight before the Sleep Powder could put it to sleep.

“Exeggcute, separate into two groups of three,” Danny ordered, thinking out a strategy. “One group use Sleep Powder down the hole where Onix disappeared, and the other wait for Onix to reappear and hit him then with Leech Seed.”

The Exeggcute did as they were told, three of them rolling over towards the hole, exhaling the Sleep Powder into it, while the other group rolled onto a boulder, looking in three directions awaiting Onix to reappear. After a moment of silence, Onix was still underground, with no traces of reappearing anytime soon.

“Did we get it…?” Danny asked, a little skeptical at the thought of actually putting Onix to sleep while in the hole.”

“No,” Brock answered, folding his arms back over his chest. “Onix, attack now!”

Onix reappeared out from the ground, rotating rapidly. In no time at all, a giant sandstorm had engulfed Onix, and was spreading out to the Exeggcute.

“Exeggcute!” Danny howled, worried about his newly acquired Pokemon. “This is our last chance, Sleep Powder, all of you!”

The six scattered Exeggcute shot their Sleep Powder into the direction of the oncoming sandstorm, creating a giant mixture of sand and residue. The sandstorm engulfed the entire field, with Onix and the Exeggcute in the middle. As the sandstorm subsided, the outline of Onix could be seen laying on the ground, with five oval shaped objects scattered around. When the sand finally settled enough to clearly see what had happened, Onix was seen clearly covered in glowing red roots, all connected at one spot on the large beast.

“One…two…three…four….and five.” Danny counted, looking to see if all six Exeggcute were still in tact. “Where’s the sixth?”

“Onix….” Brock muttered to himself, seeing his Pokemon covered in the Exeggcute’s Leech Seed.

“Exeggcute, where are you!?” Danny yelled out into the field, concerned about the missing Pokemon.

A low garbling sound could be heard from somewhere on the field, as the lead Exeggcute managed to climb out of the hole Onix had just dug. Exeggcute had a huge grin across his face, staring at Danny.

“Onix is unable to battle, round three and the battle for the Boulder Badge, goes to Danny!” the judge stated, waving a flag in the direction of Danny.

Danny was trembling with excitement, thrilled he had won his very first badge. “I won!”

“Way to go Danny!” Hiromi congratulated form the sidelines, jumping up and down with joy.

“Congratulations Danny, you won.” Brock confirmed, returning Onix into its pokeball. He hopped off the podium he was standing on, and made his way over towards Danny. “Here, this Boulder Badge is confirmation of your victory here today, wear it proudly.” he said, handing Danny a small grey rock shaped badge.

“Thank you, that was a tough fight Brock.” he said, shaking hands with Brock. “I hope for a rematch some day.”

“Come by anytime you want, I won’t lose though.” Brock responded, laughing.

“Oh yea, Exeggcute, all of you get over here!” Danny called out to his Exeggcute, most of whom were still asleep. “Ok, I can see that’s not going to happen, return instead!” he held up the pokeball, recalling the Exeggcute back to rest inside.

“Hiromi, let’s get going, I want to hurry to the Pokemon Center!” Danny called, rushing out the door not waiting for Hiromi.

“Yea yea, I’m coming!” she answered, gathering up her things and chasing after Danny.

great battle scene. you showed that more than just fainting happens when a pokemon is beaten badly(in geodude's case) if that is a precursor to what's coming up, then i am psyched

Siriku - Exeggute is 6 different eggs, each with a different personality, so why treat them as 1 pokemon. Glad you liked the 6 seperate thing as well.

lordzangoose - Thanks, glad you liked the battle

Im working on the next chapter right now, Ill update when I finish it.

Siriku - As I said in my previous post, since Exeggcute are 6 Pokemon with different personalities, Im using that to my advantage. And I didnt really think about what would happen if something happens to one, so its possible Exeggutor would be deformed.

Let me know when your fic is up and Ill check it out.

This is a pretty cool story that you got going on. I liked the first few chapters with Danny and the rest of the graduating trainers going out and capturing their starter Pokemon in a secret valley. Its no often you see a Trainer capture a Aron for his/her starter. You usually see it in the other fan fics on trainers teams, but not often as a starter, so that was one of the things I liked about the opening. On top of that, capturing an Exeggcute is also pretty rare and not common on many teams. I liked the way you used Exeggcute in the battle with Brock. But it seems Danny doesnt know some of the basic attacks of a few Pokemon, since he had trouble battling Exeggcute. If it wasnt for Hiromi he would of lost that battle. Seems to me she seems to be the smarter of the two for the time being, but all of that can change I suppose. I cant wait to see Hiromi's second Pokemon and her battle with Brock for her Boulder Badge. The battle with Chad was also pretty good and it seems he will be making a return sooner or later.

Im just wondering what is his home town? And if you are going to add any more characters to the stroy since I have one that you can use if you want.

One by one, Mr. Dunbar called each teenager up to the stage, and greeted them in a similar way in which he had greeted Danny. Every person that was called up to the stage had a different look to them than others of the group. When Mr. Dunbar got to the twenty-sixth person, he called out the name of one of the boys who lived in the same neighborhood as Danny. Danny knew the boy who was being called, though he wasn’t a personal friend of his. He laughed under his breath, knowing that is was too late for him to show up now.

I hope you will reveal this character soon. It seems he may play a role in this story aswell.

Glad you like it Hoenn Warrior. And to answer your question about Danny's hometown, its going to be revealed soon, so youre going to have to wait. And for the mystery missing person, yup, I have plans for him, but he wont be revealed for a little while as well, sorry.

I also am going to use more characters, so go ahead and PM me yours and Ill see if I can fit him/her in.

^gosh darn you

the malformed thing would be pretty cool.... just had a great idea.... if one of the eggs gets destroyed somehow then he would be lacking an emotion, which means that it could either hurt or harm him, or could give him a special power

No need to apologize to me. I can wait patiently for his hometown to be revealed. I just wonder who is this mystery character? And his purpose. It seems Danny isnt that close to him s he could be like his main rival like Gary was to Ash, but that spot may have been taken by Chad? But like I said, Ill wait patiently for you to answer these questions. Somewhat surprised the others didnt pick up on that line though.

And I will PM you my ideas for the characters for your story. I just hope you can fit my character/s in if possible.

Well, got Chapter 6 done, its kind of short though. Enjoy:

Chapter Six:

“Here you go, your Pokemon are back up to fighting level.” the Pewter City Pokemon Center receptionist said, handing Danny back his two pokeballs.

“Thanks.” Danny answered, taking back his pokeballs and waking out of the Pokemon Center. When he got out of the Pokemon Center, he turned to Hiromi. “Where to next?”

Hiromi got out her map, and began to study it. “Well, the closest town from here is Cerulean.” she said, not looking up from the map. “But to get there we would have to make our way through Mt. Moon.”

“Mt. Moon, what direction is that?” asked Danny.

“East, on the other side of Route 3. But according to what someone in the Pokemon Center said, Route 3 is full of trainers going the same way as us.” she said, looked up from the map.

“Good, the more the merrier.” Danny confidently stated, making his way towards Route 3.

Hiromi rolled her eyes before following Danny, as they headed towards the city gates. When Danny and Hiromi made it to their destination, there was a mass of trainers gathered around in a ring, watching what sounded like a fight.

“Hey, what's going on over there?” Danny curiously asked, wandering over towards the gathering of people.

Danny and Hiromi pushed there way through the large crowd, to find a competition of two trainers battling with their Pokemon. On one side, there was a Pokemon resembling that of a rhinoceros. It was a lavender color, with needles and horns growing out of the back of its rough hide. It had dark purple spots scattered randomly around its body, with a razor sharp horn sticking up from out of its forehead.

On the other side of the gathering opposing this purple Pokemon was a Pokemon that slightly resembled a ferret, though it had flame shooting out of its head and lower back. It was coated in vanilla colored fur on its underbelly and paws, with a blue streak going down its back, starting at its eyes.

“Quilava, Flamethrower!” a boy from inside the ring of people ordered. The blue and white ferret Pokemon, Quilava, began to inhale deeply, then exerting a radiant stream of flame towards its adversary.

“Nidorino, use Water Pulse!” another boy from inside the ring commanded. The Nidorino large ears perked up, as it opened its mouth, absorbing water particles from the air. In no time at all, Nidorino had accumulated enough particles to be holding a compacted sphere of water in its mouth. The Nidorino shot the Water Pulse straight into the Flamethrower, cutting through it like a knife.

“Amazing, a Nidorino with Water Pulse.” Hiromi commented, watching the battle between the two Pokemon rage on.

The Water Pulse cut through the entire Flamethrower attack, and burst straight into Quilava. Quilava was sent flying back, taking a lot of damage from the water type attack. The flames on its back went out in an instant as Quilava lay limply on the ground beside its trainer.

“Looks like Quilava won’t be getting up anytime soon, I win.” Nidorino’s trainer remarked, combing his hand through his long red hair. He wore an olive green colored jacket, with a solid red line dashing through the middle. His jacket had red cuffs, matching the color of his hair. He wore blue jeans, tucked into his black boots.

“Quilava, return.” The other trainer called, recalling his Quilava back into its pokeball then quickly rushing off towards the direction of Pewter City.

“Is there no-one here who can challenge me and my Nidorino?” The trainer called out, looking around into the crowd.

“I can!” Danny shouted, pushing his way through the crowd until he was standing inside the ring of spectators.

“Hmph, fine. Nidorino, you’re up.” The trainer said, telling his Nidorino to step back into the field.

“Exeggcute lets go!” Danny called, throwing the pokeball into the field.

All six of the Exeggcute materialized onto the field, staring out at the Nidorino. The Exeggcute turned around to look at Danny, and yelled angrily out at him.

“What?” Danny asked, puzzled at Exeggcute’s sudden reaction to him. “It’s a battle, you guys are going to kick that Nidorino’s ***, like you did with Onix.”

“Egg-execute!” The Exeggcute snorted, turning back around to face the Nidorino.

“I’ll make the first move. Nidorino, Fury Attack and hit all six Exeggcute.” The opposing trainer said in an apathetic voice.

Nidorino charged forwards towards Exeggcute, his eyes full of hatred for Exeggcute.

“Exeggcute, separate!” Ordered Danny.

The six Exeggcute separated, just in time to dodge Nidorino’s Fury Attack. Nidorino violently turned around, charging for one of the Exeggcute without an order from its trainer. Nidorino rammed its horn straight into one of the eggs, sending it flying into one of the other Exeggcute.

“Crap, I need to concentrate.” Danny said to himself, thinking of a plan to use against Nidorino. “That’s it! Exeggcute, Hypnosis!”

The remaining Exeggcute’s eyes began to glow a bright yellow, attempting to put the opposing Nidorino to sleep.

“Nidorino, Poison Sting the closest Exeggcute, then move out to the rest.” Nidorino’s trainer called out.

Nidorino charged once again towards one of the Exeggcute, its razor sharp horn atop its head-pointing straight out. Nidorino smashed into one of the Exeggcute, immobilizing a total of three out of the six Pokemon. Nidorino then turned and faced another Exeggcute. Exeggcute’s made eye contact with the Nidorino, putting it to sleep due to the Hypnosis attack.

“Alright Exeggcute, good job!” Danny cheered, as the crowed roared with excitement at the battle.

“Nidorino, wake up!” The trainer yelled to his Pokemon, frustrated that his Pokemon fell for such a common attack.

Exeggcute can’t defeat that Nidorino before it gets up,Danny thought to himself. Since Nidorino’s a poison type, I’ll need something like a ground, or psychic attack. Wait, psychic attack, that’s it!

“Exeggcute, I have a plan,” Danny called out to his egg Pokemon. “You need to focus your Hypnosis into a Confusion attack, so that instead of just putting Pokemon to sleep, you can control their movements!”

Exeggcute concentrated hard on the sleeping rhino Pokemon, trying to use the Confusion attack. Exeggcute’s eyes began to change from the bright golden color into a bright aquamarine shade of blue. As the three Exeggcute’s eyes began to glow brighter, Nidorino’s body began to glow as well.

“Nidorino! Get up!” The trainer called, anger present in his voice.

When Nidorino’s body was entirely encased in the blue light, the Exeggcute sent it flying clear across the flied. Nidorino landed into the ground, skidding for another few feet, accumulating dirt and soil around its head.

“Alright Exeggcute, you learned Confusion!” Danny shouted, jumping up and down at Exeggcute’s victory. “Looks like I won. Great match.”

“Hmph, Nidorino return.” He said, recalling his Nidorino back into its pokeball, ignoring Danny. He turned and walked away in the direction of Mt. Moon.

“Alright! Good job Exeggcute!” Danny yelled, running towards his Exeggcute. He pulled out a spray bottle from inside his book bag, and sprayed the three injured Exeggcute. “Anyone else want to battle?”

“I will.” Came a voice from inside the crowd. The boy who stepped forward had long brown straight hair. He wore a black t-shirt underneath a lime green colored vest, along with a pair of dark blue jeans.

“Fine with me.” Danny said confidently. “I’ll be sticking with Exeggcute.”

“Ok, Vulpix lets go!” He said, tossing a red and white pokeball into the field. The Pokemon that appeared on the field was a beautiful crimson colored fox, with six pumpkin colored curly tails. It had a tuff of hair growing out of its small head, the same color as its tails. It had dull brown eyes, with pure white fur covering its stomach.

“Hmm, Vulpix huh? On second thought, Exeggcute return!” Danny called, recalling his six eggs back into their pokeball, and tossing his green shaded ball. “Aron lets go!”

Aron was released from ball, standing face to face with Vulpix. The two small Pokemon stood staring each other down for a minute or two before either made a move.

“Vulpix, Flamethrower!” Its trainer commanded, breaking the silence between the two Pokemon.

Vulpix inhaled air, and then exhaled a stream of bright red and orange flame; similar to that of Quilava’s in one of the previous battles.

“Dig!” Danny commanded, just seconds before the flame scorched Aron.

“Aroo!” The tiny steel Pokemon exclaimed, before diving into the ground beneath it with its claws. Right before the Flamethrower attack made contact with Aron, it disappeared, leaving nothing but a deep hole where it just stood.

“Not bad, but not good enough.” The other trainer said, smiling to himself. “Vulpix, Fire Spin into the hole.”

Vulpix quickly darted over towards the hole Aron had just made, and inhaled as if it were going to use Flamethrower. Instead of a single straight burst of flame shooting out of its mouth when it exhaled, a thin vortex of flame, similar to that of Flamethrower, shot out darting down the hole.

“Aron! Mud Slap!” Danny called out, in hopes Aron could hear him.

After a minute underground, Aron reappeared underneath Vulpix, ramming its ironclad head into the soft stomach of Vulpix.

Thank God, Danny thought to himself. Why is it that every time we use Dig, something happens that forces us to use Mud Slap?

“Vulpix!” The trainer yelled, fearing for his small Pokemon’s health.

“Aron,” Danny called out. “Show us Metal Claw!”

Aron’s fore claw began shining bright in the afternoon sun, as it readied its Metal Claw. When Vulpix finally reached its maximum height after being thrown up into the air and began to descend, Aron jumped up, colliding its claw down onto the jaw of the fox Pokemon. Vulpix was sent flying down toward the ground with greater velocity. When Vulpix finally met with the ground, it bounced up a little, before finally staying down.

“Dammit, Vulpix return.” Its trainer called, holding out its pokeball and facing it in the direction of Vulpix.

“Hey, nice battle.” Danny congratulated as he recalled Aron. He then began walking over towards the other trainer. “You took defeat a lot better than the guy with the Nidorino.”

“Thanks, those were some pretty nice moves you had back there too.” He responded, placing Vulpix’s pokeball into his book bag. “My name’s Anthony, what's yours?”

“Danny, nice to meet you.” Danny said, stretching out his hand.

Anthony grasped Danny’s hand in his, and the two trainers shook hands.

“So where you headed to?” Danny asked.

“Pewter City, I need to get my first gym badge.” Anthony responded.

“Oh really, I just came from there. Be careful against Brock, he’s good.” Warned Danny.

“Thanks, I’ll remember that.”

“Danny, we need to get going if we want to make it to Cerulean City by nightfall.” Hiromi interjected, walking over to the two boys.

“Oh yea, I guess you’re right.” Danny agreed, putting Aron’s pokeball back in its slot in his black belt. “Well hopefully we’ll see each other soon, Anthony, good luck.”

Danny and Hiromi then walked off, leaving the crowd of spectators behind them, heading towards Mt. Moon.

No it doesn't, since danny just talked and hiromi wasn't introduced into the conversation, then it must be anthony talking.

the chapter was very good, length as you stated was slightly lacking, no grammar mistakes, as terror stated, the nidorino kid's description was a little bit hurried, I'm going to make a guess that he will make a vengeful return in the story

P.S: I noticed that you changed the avatar to fit a possible future of the story

I didn't like my last fanfic much, so i decided to trash it. I actually like this one so far, and plan to keep it up.

Prologue:

“Seems like I can’t fall asleep tonight. Heh, not like it’s that surprising, seeing as I’ve been waiting for this day to come for the past 5 years.”

Are you serious?

A teenage boy was laying on top of a queen-sized bed, covered with a faded light blue cover. He laid with his hands laced together covering his eyes, holding back his thick long raven colored hair. He wore nothing but a pair of gym shorts and a pair of socks while laying in his bed. He lifted a hand off of his right eye, to glance over at the digital clock that lay next to his bed on a wooden bed stand.

I liked the description. Very good.

“…2:37 A.M. I still have about 8 and a half hours to wait. If I don’t get some sleep, I won’t be awake for the ceremony, and I’ll have to wait another year until I can start my own journey.” he set his hand back over top his face, and through his fingers again to cover his eyes. “Damn it, how did you manage to sleep the entire night before you left? That idiot could sleep through anything.”

Why doesn't he think about this instead of saying it outloud to no one. But if he is, put that out...

*******************

*pant* *pant* *pant*

“Eh….five for minutes mom..…” mumbled the boy wearily, grabbing a blanket from next to time and violently rolling to face the wall on the side of his bed, bringing the blanket with him to cover his face.

*pant* *pant* *pant*

More. Five more minutes mom.

Seeing that whatever was in his face wouldn’t be leaving him alone anytime soon, the boy grabbed his blanket and threw it off of him onto the vanilla colored carpet floor, then turning around to see what was bothering him while he was sleeping the sleep that he had waited for all night long. The moment he had turned around, a wet, saliva coated pink tongue licked his face, getting spittle inside of his mouth.

I would've wacked that **** silly if anything did that to me....

“Ehhh, my god! Get off my bed you flee ridden mutt!” he yelled at a black dog, whose face was covered in fur that was just as black as his own hair. Covering the rest of the dogs body was a grey colored fur, that glistened brightly in the light that was shining threw a window on the wall just next to his own bed. “Mom! Mom! Come get this thing out of my face, I’m trying to sleep!” As he yelled this, the dog continued to lick his face, and the boy kept complaining each time his face and the dogs tongue met.

I always hated Poochyenas.

“Poochyena, get off of Danny’s bed, go wake up Andrew, it’s about time that he wake up as well.” The voice from which this command came form was a middle-aged women drying her hands on a towel, with her hair flying loose. Her hair was the exact same raven color as her sons, with red highlights running through wild. “Look at your clock, you need to get ready,” she said, walking out of the doorway with the little Poochyena following her, turning into the door right next to Danny’s, only to get the same result from Andrew, a scream of terror to wake up to dog spit in your mouth.

Separate this into two paragraphs.

“Why, what time is it….?” Danny asked wearily, rubbing his hazel colored eyes to clear any crust that may have accumulated during the night. As he turned to face the clock, he suddenly jumped out of bed and shut the door on his mother. It was 10:00 A.M., meaning he had only an hour and a half until the ceremony that he was apart of.

I thought he was going to be late...The most clichéd thing ever. I even did that part!! LOLZ!

He began to undress, and grabbed a towel from the back of his white wooden door. He wrapped the towel around his body and ran hurriedly down the hallway, heading towards the bathroom to take a shower. He went to open the door, only to find that someone else was using it.

Ya know, we still don't know what the boy looks like...

"Goddamn it, hurry up! I have to take a shower before I leave you know, let alone eat and get dressed!” as he yelled through the door, it opened to reveal an older man, with a rugged looking face covered in a blonde and grey goatee, with hair of the same color combed sleekly back.

I sense a grandfather...

“Danny, who do you think you’re talking to? I’m your father, show me some respect or I won’t let you go on your adventure” replayed the older man, with a stern look on his face from getting treated so rudely. He appeared at first glance to be in perfect shape, with fair sized muscles on his arms. Though his appearance seemed in great physical condition, he wasn’t in very good shape. His old age had taken a toll on him, and he had problems with almost every single bone in his body.

Meh, I was wrong but he could very well be one seeing as he is sickly. If I was his father, he wouldn't have seen the light of day.

"Of course I know who I’m talking to, someone who won’t let his own son take a shower.” Danny replied sarcastically, while rolling his eyes at his father. “Now can you finish whatever you’re doing in the other bathroom?”

He's dead. ZOMFG, I would've shaved his head right now and threw him agianst the wall! LOL

Danny’s father sighed at the lack of respect from his own son, but decided that since he had been waiting years to go on his journey, he’d let him off the hook for being sarcastic, since he was probably just anxious for today. When Danny got into the bathroom, he turned on a nice warm shower, until the bathroom mirrors began to fog.

ASSH*LE!!!

After finishing up his shower, he ran into his room and went to a giant wooden cabinet at the corner of his room, and opened up one of the drawers and grabbed a pair of faded blue jeans. He then proceeded to put on the pants, and then ran towards the closet at the foot of his bed, and a grey shirt off of a hanger dangling from a pole inside the messy closet, which was filled with posters, dirty laundry, and old beaten up toys from when he was a child. He then went down a set of stairs that led into a living room, and walked across the room, which seemed to have an extra feeling of warmth to it today, towards the dining room.

Seperate this into two.

“Nice to see your ready, now hurry up and eat your breakfast, you have an hour left until the ceremony starts.” his mother reminded him, as he proceeded to sit at a wooden chair in his dining room. The slid the chair over the light brown wooden floor, and grabbed a spoon off the table and began eating his breakfast, consisting of just a bowl of cereal and a glass of juice.

Some breakfast that is. Fecking cereal when he's gonna get his starter.

As Danny continued to eat, Poochyena came over to him a plopped down right next to him, his pink tongue dripping with saliva. He continued to stare at Danny as he ate with his brilliant bright red eyes. Danny stared back at him, and thought back to just a short while ago when he woke up to spit in his mouth.

Typical dog...

“Aww Poochyena, I can’t stay mad at you. Come up here, want some food?” Danny asked, patting his lap invitingly, in which the Poochyena jumped into, and began lapping up some of Danny’s cereal with his still salivating tongue. Danny affectionately scratched behind Poochyena’s left ear. Danny thought that since Poochyena was going to finish his cereal, he would go get his backpack all ready for his travel. Danny got to his room and went back into his closet once again. He grabbed a brand new book bag from under a pile of clothes, with the tag still attached to the handle.

I hope Poochyena dies from eating cereal! LOL! I can't believe he treats the pathetic dog better than his damn father.

He grabbed items that he thought would be essential for his journey, such as a few extra pairs of clothes, his razr cell phone, and a specially designed belt, with six evenly spaced out containers around it. He threw all of his things into the book bag, except for the belt. He strapped the black colored belt around his waist, and walked out his bedroom door. He stopped in the doorway and turned around to take one last look into his room before he left.

NC.

Danny went outside, to see his parents, and brother, standing right next to his fathers silver colored Diamante. The sun shined off of the cars bright paint, glaring into Danny’s eyes, making it difficult to see. Before getting into the car, Danny turned around once more, to face his house that he wouldn’t see for months. The tan colored siding, the brown tiled roof, and the old wooden porch, all of it he would miss. He got into the car and sat down on the leather interior, and pulled on his seatbelt, and when everyone was ready, they left for the ceremony.

Nice car....

I liked the battles between Danny and the Anthony. It was pretty cool how Exeggcute learned Confusion in the middle of the battle to win it all. The description in the battles werent bad at all, but I notice that Hiromi didnt go for her Gym Badge at Pewter City. What do you have in mind for her though? All in all a good chapter. All I can say is try and make the chapters a bit longer. And Ill be PM my characters to you.
