Yea, Hiromi didnt go for the Boulder Badge because she only has Butterfree. But dont worry, she wont just stand around doing nothing, like some characters in the anime. Most chapters are going to be longer than this, it was just really hard to a whole lot about just Rt 3 as I said. Glad you liked it.

Nice idea, but my avatar is just there because I think Garmeils cool. Plus, there will be no Shinou pokemon in the fic, at least until English names/attacks are revealed.

Finished Chapter 7 late last night, enjoy:

Chapter Seven:

“So, this is Mt. Moon, huh?” Danny asked aloud, obviously knowing the location of where he and Hiromi were.

“Yup.” Hiromi agreed, staring into the dark emptiness of the entrance before them. “Oh, that reminds me!”

Hiromi grabbed her green pokeball out from her bag, and tossed it into the air, revealing her outstanding Butterfree. “Hey there Butterfree, I think its time you get some exercise for those wings of yours.”

“Free-reee,” Butterfree hummed, stretching out its patterned white wings.

“Well, lets get going.” Danny said, tightening the straps on his book bag. “I want to get to Cerulean as soon as possible.”

The three made their way into Mt. Moon. When they got inside, a cold clammy gust of air blew into their faces. The walls on surrounding them were damp with moisture, with stalactites and stalagmites growing out from the ground and ceiling.

“Wow,” Danny exclaimed, astonished at the sight of the large cave. “This might take a while to get through.”

Danny, Hiromi, and her Butterfree walked further into the mountainside cave, which became damper and cooler the further they walked. Danny put his hands up to his mouth cupped together, and blew warm air into them.

“Where do we go now?” Danny asked, when the three came to a fork in the tunnel.

“Umm, I guess left.” Hiromi suggested, having just as much clue as Danny did.

The three took a left at the crossroad, and began to hear a low, rumbling sound.

“Does anyone else hear that noise?” Danny asked, looking around to find the source of the annoying buzz.

“Now that you think about it, I actually do.” Hiromi answered, perking her ears, trying to get a better idea of what the sound was.

“Meh, as long as it doesn’t affect me I don’t care, lets keep going.” Danny suggested, continuing to walk through Mt. Moon.

“Yea, I guess.” Hiromi mumbled to herself, following Danny.

“Toooneeee.” Chimed a mysterious figure, flying right in front of Danny and Hiromi. The figure continued speeding away in the opposite direction of Danny and Hiromi.

“What was that?” Danny asked, violently turning around to see what just sped by him.

“Th-that was a, Lunatone.” Hiromi said, her voice full of fear and dread.

“What's wrong, are you ok?” asked Danny, concerned.

“Yea, it’s just that if you look into Lunatone’s eyes, you’re transfixed with fear.” she said, calming down a little. “At least for just a moment or two.”

“So you could tell that was Lunatone just by getting fearful from a glimpse of its eyes?”

“Yea, but Lunatone aren’t even native to Kanto, only a select region in Hoenn.” Hiromi said, confused that Lunatone was spotted in Mt. Moon.

“So something must be wrong for it to be this far away from home, right?” Danny said, still looking in the direction of flying Lunatone.

“Most likely, they never stray far from Meteor Falls.” Hiromi stated, scratching her head. “I think we should go after it.”

“Yea, let’s go.” Danny said, running off in the route that Lunatone took.

Danny and Hiromi began running off in the direction of Lunatone, with Butterfree hovering above their heads. Danny and Hiromi continued rushing towards the Lunatone, until at last they reached a manmade hole in the ground, with a rope ladder dangling down.

“Crap!” Danny exclaimed, balling his hands into fists, and thrashing them up towards his head. “There’s no way we can find that stupid Lunatone.”

“Calm down Danny.” Hiromi said tranquilly. “Try releasing Exeggcute and having them use Confusion to trace tracks of psychic Pokemon.”

“Hey, good idea.” Danny grabbed Exeggcute’s pokeball from his belt, and tossing it up into the air. “Exeggcute, use Confusion to try and locate any other psychic Pokemon in the cave.”

“Exeggcute!” the six eggs exclaimed, there eyes glowing bright blue. After a moment or two, one of the Exeggcute’s gave a yelp, indicating that they found psychic another psychic Pokemon.

“Good job Exeggcute.” Danny congratulated. “Lead the way.”

“Egg-Exeggcute!” Exeggcute yelled, and began rolling in the direction from which it traced Lunatone.

Danny and Hiromi followed the six Exeggcute dash throughout the cave, until at last they came to yet another manmade hole. The Exeggcute stopped at the hole, jumping up and down around it.

“Looks like Lunatone fled down there,” Danny said, looking around, making sure there was nothing else around. “What's that?”

Danny walked over to a large rock sticking out of the ground, similar to that of a stalagmite, though it wasn’t nearly as tall, and more round than the others. Danny examined the rock, and found something extraordinary.

“This is, a Moon Stone!” he exclaimed, dislodging the rock from the ground, and shoving it into his bag. “Ok, lets go!”

Danny and Hiromi made their way down the hole, with their Pokemon following. Butterfree flying down, and Exeggcute using Confusion on itself to levitate down. When Danny and Hiromi made their way down, they heard that horrific rumbling noise yet again.

“Argh, what is that noise?!” Danny screamed, covering his ears.

“It sounds like a drill, but from what?” Hiromi questioned, looking around the vicinity.

“Exeggcute!” the tiny pink Pokemon yelled, rolling again towards where they detected Lunatone.

“Come one, no time to worry about that now, follow Exeggcute!” Danny yelled, following his Exeggcute yet again.

After about five minutes of running, Exeggcute stopped, facing the Lunatone.

“So, that’s a Lunatone?” Danny remarked, staring wildly at the psychic Pokemon. “It looks like a crescent moon.”

The moon like Pokemon was a stone-like beige color, and it had two, large intimidating red eyes. Growing out from the middle of the crescent was a beak-like protuberance, with craters indented all around its moon shaped body.

Facing Lunatone was a rather tall shady looking person, wearing an all black uniform. The mysterious person wore a pair of black leather gloves, stretching all the way up to the elbows, and a pair of similar boots from the knees down. Embedded on the persons shirt was a giant crimson colored letter “R”, and wore an all black hat.

“Hey, who are you?” Danny called out, reaching out from Aron’s pokeball.

“Damn, you again.” said the person, revealing by the tone of voice to be a boy. This person removed their hat from atop their head, revealing a familiar looking face.

“You’re!” Danny exclaimed, recognizing the person before him as the boy with the Nidorino that he defeated outside on Route 3. “You’re with Team Rocket?”

“Hmph, you again.” He scoffed, reaching for a pokeball from his gray colored belt. “Nidorino, Double-Edge.”

“Aron, Iron Defense!” Danny called, releasing his Aron right before him. “Hiromi, take care of Lunatone, will you?”

“Yea, take care of him for me.” Hiromi commented, running around him towards Lunatone.

Nidorino connected with Aron, slightly budging it from its spot.

“Aron, Headbutt!” Danny ordered, the tiny metal clad Pokemon rushing at Nidorino.

“Double Team, then charge the kid with Double-Edge again.” he calmly ordered, his voice void of emotion.

Aron continued to charge Nidorino, who immediately created doppelgangers of itself, surrounding Aron. Aron rammed into one of the Nidorino, only to have it disappear at once. The remaining copies of Nidorino vanished as well, leaving only the original. Nidorino then charged forward towards Danny, ramming its side into Danny’s chest, sending him flying a few feet back. Aron looked on helplessly as its trainer was sent flying.

When Danny finally landed, his book bag flew off, scattering random objects on the floor, including his newly obtained Moon Stone.

“Hoo, you got a Moon Stone I see.” remarked the other trainer, laughing at Danny. “Nidorino, get the Moon Stone now!”

Nidorino gave a low grunt, and charged towards the Moon Stone in front of it, crushing it with its foot. Nidorino began the glow a bright white light, as it began to grow. What once were its hind legs were now sturdy looking feet, with its arms similar. Nidorino was now bipedal, standing on its hind legs. It grew a large slithering tail, along with steel-like hide. When the light subsided, what once was Nidorino was now a massive Nidoking.

“Kiiing!” the monstrous beast roared, pounding its chest with its thick arms.

“Hey kid, lets see you handle Nidoking.” the boy sarcastically said, laughing at the top of his lungs. “Mega Punch that tiny iron piece of crap to oblivion!”

Nidoking’s fist began glowing bright white; similar to that of Geodude’s from the Pewter Gym. He charged towards Aron, his fist cocked back, ready to attack. Aron stood frozen in fear, not knowing what to do against the charging monster in front of him.

“Aron, get away, get as far away from that thing as possible!” Danny called, fear clearly evident in his voice.

Aron stood where it was, refusing to leave Danny alone. Nidoking flung its fist straight into Aron’s head, sending it flying into a wall.

“Aron!” Danny screamed, clenching his chest, still in pain from the Double-Edge attack.

“Danny, get down!” Hiromi yelled from behind him.

Danny turned around while getting down to the ground at the same time, seeing Hiromi rush forward with Butterfree and Lunatone behind her.

“Both of you, Psychic!” she exclaimed, pointing at Nidoking.

Both Butterfree and Lunatone’s eyes turned bright blue, similar to Exeggcute’s Confusion. From their eyes they both shot a giant burst of blue in the direction of Nidoking. The two Psychic blasts connected with Nidoking, sending him flying back into a wall behind him.

“Hiromi!” Danny yelled, getting back up to his feet. “What happened? And why is Lunatone helping?”

“One at a time. I chased Lunatone, and finally caught up to him. When I did, I discovered Team Rocket using a large drill to drill into the cave floor. And as for Lunatone helping, I managed to capture it, so yea.” Hiromi answered, beaming as she answered him.

“Talk about lucky. You got to hurry and beat him though, that Nidoking took Aron out in one hit.” Danny explained, running over to Aron.

“Hey, what the hell do you think you’re doing?!” yelled the Team Rocket member, looking concerned at his fallen Nidoking. “I wasn’t fighting you, was I?”

“No, but when my friends need help, I’ll help.” Hiromi explained, staring him down. “Lunatone, Psychic on the boy. Butterfree, Stun Spore on Nidoking to keep it down.”

Lunatone’s eyes shined bright blue once more, striking down the Team Rocket trainer. At the same time, Butterfree shot a bright yellow powder at Nidoking, paralyzing it.

“Now talk, what is Team Rocket up to, and who are you?” Hiromi demanded, walking over to the fallen trainer.

“Hmph, I have nothing to hide.” he explained, brushing his red hair out from in front of his eyes. “We’re here excavating for ancient fossils, hence the large drill you saw girl. And as for me, name’s Samael.”

“Fossils, what do you mean?” Hiromi curiously asked, raising her eyebrow.

“Yea, some scientist created a machine that regenerates fossilized Pokemon, so we were going to revive the fossils and-” he stopped, looking up at her. “Why do you care, figure it out for yourself.”

“Danny, are you ok to go?” Hiromi asked Danny, walking over to him.

“Yea just let me heal Aron. Give me a minute.” He grabbed from off the ground a dull brown root, and putting it in Aron’s mouth. “Eat up buddy, it’ll make you feel better.”

Aron slowly chewed the herb, regaining a little of its strength back. Danny recalled Aron back into its pokeball, and got up.

“Ok, so we have two choices.” he said, clapping his hands together, shaking off the powder from the root he just fed Aron. “A, we just leave Mt. Moon, ignoring what he just told us. Or B, attempt to destroy the drill they have, and hope we live.”

“Well, if those are our only choices, then it’s obviously B. We can’t just ignore them, so lets go stop them.” She said, recalling Lunatone and Butterfree.

“Lets go then. Lead the way.”

Hiromi ran off in the direction from which she came from, with Danny following closely behind. In almost no time at all, they were facing a fissure in the ground, from which the buzzing noise came from.

“So the drills down there, right?” Danny asked, looking down the gap.

“Yea, lucky for us though that there’s a stairway carved into the side, so we can walk down. Come on.” Hiromi dashed over to a flight of stairs, engraved in the fissure.

The further down that Danny and Hiromi went, the louder the buzzing got. When at last they reached the bottom of the stairs, before them was a large mechanical drill.

“That’s humongous!” Danny exclaimed, staring at the large, bright orange drill before him.

“Danny, keep it down.” Hiromi hushed, putting her hand overtop his mouth. “If we get caught, we’ll never stop them.”

“Yea, you’re right.” Danny whispered, reaching his hand into his belt and pulling out Aron and Exeggcute’s pokeball. “K, so what's the plan?”

“Here’s what I’m thinking.” Hiromi explained, getting down onto her knees. “I’ll have Butterfree and Lunatone distract them, and when I give you the signal, have Aron and Exeggcute destroy the drill.”

“Deal, so what's the signal?” Danny asked, sneaking a peek at the Rocket’s running around. They all wore clothes similar to that of Samael’ uniform.

“Ice Beam.” she said, pulling Danny back down. “When Lunatone shoots off an Ice Beam, that’s when you go to the drill and destroy it.”

“Got it. So lets go.” Danny said, running slowly over towards the drill.

Hiromi ran off in the other direction, grasping her two pokeball’s in each hand. When Hiromi got behind a large boulder, she released her Butterfree and Lunatone, while at the same time Danny ran up the flight of stairs.

“Lunatone, Butterfree. Use Rock Throw and Whirlwind on all of those people in the black clothes.” Hiromi ordered, pointing over at the Rockets.

Butterfree violently flapped its toxic coated wings, sending a hurricane in the direction of the Rockets. At the same time, Lunatone used its psychic abilities to dislodge stalactites from atop the ceiling of the cave. Butterfree’s Whirlwind caused the Rockets to be blown away, while Rock Throw threw the stalactites onto the ground, ruining any other minor machinery they were operating.

“Good job you two. Butterfree keep it up, Lunatone use Ice Beam on the ground.”

“Lunaaaaa!” the crescent moon Pokemon exclaimed, as it began to compress a vortex of ice next to its beak.

Lunatone shot the ball of ice out onto the ground in front of it, in the form of a beam. The beam of ice crashed into the ground, and spread out over the floor.

“What the hell is this!?” one of the Rockets yelled, slipping over the ice.

“We’re being ambushed, watch out!” another of them yelled.

“That ******* Samael didn’t do his job!” came another cry.

“Good job Lunatone, you too Butterfree. Now it’s up to Danny and his Pokemon.” Hiromi congratulated, looking up at a slight moving shadow where Danny was.

“Heh, looks like Hiromi did her part, lets not let her down. Aron, Exeggcute.” Danny remarked, releasing his Pokemon in front of him. “Here’s the plan. You two are going to destroy that drill with every ounce of energy you guys have.”

“Aron!” the tiny steel Pokemon yelled, looking at the drill.

“Ok, Exeggcute, use Confusion to hover over to the drill. When there, use any means necessary to break the drill.” Danny explained the plan to his Pokemon, was the Rockets below continued to slip and slide. “Ok, go.”

Exeggcute’s eyes began to glow, as it and Aron began to hover. Exeggcute then transported them over to the drill, which wasn’t to far away from where they were now. When they got there, Aron and Exeggcute looked around and examined the many different levers and buttons.

“Aron, Exeggcute!” Danny called to his Pokemon from the steps. “Don’t get distracted, destroy the control panel right away!”

Aron and Exeggcute obeyed, and proceeded to destroy the controls. Aron used Headbutt, crushing buttons and levers. Exeggcute used Confusion, blowing circuits and wires out from the metallic panel.

“Danny, you done yet?” Hiromi asked, running up the steps towards him.

“Almost,” Danny answered, turning to look at exhausted face. “Aron and Exeggcute are destroying the panels as we speak.”

“Good, hurry up and meet me at the top of the stairs.” Hiromi responded, as she ran past him up the steps.

“Aron, how much longer?” Danny called over to his Pokemon.

“Aro-on!” it replied, jumping onto the edge of the drill.

“Done hunh. Good job. Return you two!” Danny held up his two pokeballs, the bright red light engulfing his two Pokemon.

Danny ran up the stairs, meeting up with Hiromi. The two trainers fled, running far away from Team Rocket as possible. As they continued, screams of terror could be heard from the crevice where the drill was.

“Looks like Team Rocket doesn’t appreciate us interfering with their stupid plans.” Danny laughed, coming to a stop.

“Well it’s not our problem, now is it?” Hiromi commented, laughing as well.

“Hey, looks like Team Rocket was operating near the exit of Mt. Moon.” Danny said, pointing to a bright light coming from over the horizon. “Lets get going.”

“Yea,” Hiromi agreed, regaining her complexion. “The faster we get out of here the better.”

Danny and Hiromi began walking towards the shining light, until they were out of Mt. Moon. When at last they were out of the cave, the bright light blinded them, making it difficult to see.

“Finally, lets head to Cerulean City. I want my Cascade Badge as soon as possible.” Danny said, as he began to walk off towards Cerulean City.

shove 'er in! ;O
That IMO was probably your best chapter. I loved it. Action, oddity, how Nidorino evolved. It seemed to be in the right place at the right time! LOLz It steps on a damn Moon Stone that Danny drops!

And Lunatone, mebe it's in Mt.Moon because somehow, the cave has something to do wth Lunatone. (Moon=Luna)

This chapter was pretty interesting. I liked that you placed a Lunatone in Mt.Moon, despite the fact that they arent found in Kanto, but the area it self where you had Lunatone was excellent. Hiromi was able to get a good Pokemon for her team, but will it fair well against Misty when she goes for her Gym Badge in Cerulean. Aron got beaten badly against Nidoking, but that is to be expected from such a large Pokemon. I hope Samael makes a return with some new Pokemon and Im hoping Exeggcute uses some new attacks besides Confusion, like Barrage. All in all a good chapter, and poor Danny had to get his Moon Stone stollen from him.

Im not jumping to any conclusions, I just want to see Hiromi come out and battle someone for a change of pace in the story. Cant wait for the next chapter.

Well that's interesting^^^.

Anyways, yeah I wonder how Hiromi will fair with her Lunatone. You know, you should give it a rebellious personality. That will certainly suffice.

Chapter Eight:

“So Danny, you going straight to the Cerulean Gym?” Hiromi asked, as the two travelers walked through the large, aquamarine colored gates of the city.

“Yea, and you?” he asked, looking at Hiromi.

“I’m not sure-” she began to say, stopping where she stood.

“Not sure about what?” Danny interjected, looking perplexed. “You have two Pokemon now, so you can take on the gym.”

“It’s a long story, I’ll tell you after your match.” she answered, walking towards Cerulean again.

Danny stood where he was, looking with confusion at her.

*******************

“So, this is the gym.” Danny said, looking at the giant doors ahead of him.

The Cerulean Gym was a giant building, with a large billboard of a Dewgong, the sea lion Pokemon, set atop the entrance.

“Hello, anyone here!?” Danny called out, as he walked into the gym.

“Hold on, be there in a minute!” came the voice of a female.

Moments later, a girl, no taller than Danny, came out of a hallway on their left, drying herself with a red towel. She looked to be the same age as Danny and Hiromi as well, with bright orange hair.

“Hey, I’m Misty. You here for a Cascade Badge?” she asked, flinging the towel over top her shoulder.

“Uh, yea. You the gym leader?”

“Yea, gym leader of the one and only Cerulean Gym. So if you want a battle, follow me to the pool.”

“Whoa, what?” Danny exclaimed, startled that they were going to a pool instead of an arena. “Shouldn’t we be going to a battle arena instead of a pool?”

“Danny, the Cerulean Gym arena is a pool.” Hiromi said, as she followed Misty.

Danny followed after Misty and Hiromi, as they went through the same hallway Misty had just emerged from. When the got to the end of the hallway, they saw a large pool, at least long thirty feet, and almost half as wide. Scattered in the water were multicolored platforms, all a different size.

“Wow, this is pretty cool.” Danny commented, looking at the large pool before him.

“Thanks, I just finished cleaning it when you came.” Misty said smiling. “Ok, so if you’re ready to begin, stand over there on one side of the pool.”

Danny walked over, standing at one edge of pool, facing Misty at the other side.

“So what are the rules?” Danny called, reaching for one of his pokeballs at the same time.

“Two-on-two, no time limits. You may substitute at any moment, I can’t.” Misty answered, pulling out a pokeball from a rack placed behind her. She tossed the ball into the air, releasing what seemed to be a clutter of coral.

The pink Pokemon had a small face, along with a white underbelly. It had coral outgrowths situated all over the upper half of its body, in addition to a growth shaped like a horn on its head.

“Exeggcute, you’re up!” Danny called, tossing Exeggcute’s pokeball onto one of the many platforms in the water.

“Ok, lets go! Corsola, Bubblebeam!”

Corsola shot out an array of clear bubbles, violently heading for Exeggcute.

“Light Screen Exeggcute!”

The Exeggcute retaliated Corsola’s Bubblebeam with a barrier of bright colored energy. The wall concealed the Exeggcute, penetrating Corsola’s Bubblebeam attack.

“Good job Exeggcute.” Danny cheered, thinking of a new plan. “Leech Seed.”

The lead Exeggcute shot a tiny seed out of its mouth in the direction of Corsola.

“Not good enough, Spike Cannon.” Misty ordered, not fazed at the command of the grass move.

Corsola’s growths on its body began to glow bright white, as it aimed them at Exeggcute. Corsola’s growths then shot a massive barrage of spike shaped projectiles. The spikes cut through the Leech Seed, colliding with Exeggcute.

All six Exeggcute were sent flying back, nearly falling off the platform into the water.

Danny murmured under his breath, thinking of a way to stop Corsola. “Confusion!”

Exeggcute’s eyes began glowing, as Corsola began to glow as well. Exeggcute used the Confusion attack to raise Corsola into the air, dragging the coral Pokemon over to them.

“Good job Exeggcute. When it’s within range, shoot of another Leech Seed.”

Exeggcute continued to pull Corsola nearer, until it was on the same platform as they were, unable to do anything. Exeggcute shot off another Leech Seed, this time making contact with Corsola.

“Release now Exeggcute, send it flying!” ordered Danny.

“Corsola, no!” Misty exclaimed, concerned for her Pokemon.

Corsola was sent flying across the water, skipping over it like a pebble.

“Recover.” Misty ordered, her voice becoming calmer than when Corsola was in trouble.

Corsola began to glow bright lime color, its wounds healing.

Crap, now Corsola is just about at full health again. “Exeggcute, lets try a Barrage attack!”

Exeggcute huddled together, and began to form a cannonball of energy. When Exeggcute accumulated enough energy, it shot of several shots, similar to that of Corsola’s Spike Cannon.

“Corsola, dive into the water, then Icicle Spear!”

Corsola dove into the water, avoiding Exeggcute’s Barrage attack. When Corsola emerged from under the water, its branches began to glisten, as if frozen. It then shot of the Icicle Spear, similar to how it shot of Spike Cannon.

Exeggcute was pelted with the spears of ice, not having anytime to retaliate. When the onslaught was over, Exeggcute lay limp on the platform, unable to battle.

“Man, there goes my advantage.” Danny said aloud, recalling Exeggcute back, and tossing Aron’s pokeball out to the pool.

“Corsola, Icicle Spear once more!” Misty ordered, the moment Aron landed on the platform.

“Iron Defense Aron!” Danny quickly responded.

Aron turned a metallic color, and stiffened up its muscles. Corsola’s Icicle Spear collided with Aron, but to no avail.

“Ok Corsola lets try Ice Beam!” yelled Misty.

“Ice Beam!?” Danny exclaimed, not knowing how to respond. “Aron, just try and withstand it!”

Aron braced itself, putting its tiny steel arms in front of its large head, while Corsola began to collect a ball of ice atop the horn on its head. When the ball of ice was large enough, Corsola shot it out in the form of a multiple streams of ice. The beam collided with Aron, forcing him all the way to the edge of the platform.

“Aron, don’t fall!” Danny yelled, knowing if Aron fell the match would be over.

“Corsola, dash over towards Aron, and hit him with Water Pulse!” Misty commanded, thrusting her fist towards Aron.

Corsola dove back into the water, and disappeared. When Corsola finally emerged behind Aron, it shot the dense sphere of water straightforward. The Water Pulse collided with Aron before it had time to react. Aron was sent flying into the water, unable to battle.

“Aron, no!” Danny shouted, looking on in shock.

“Corsola, save it.”

Corsola dove back down into the water, and sped towards the quickly drowning Aron. When Corsola emerged with Aron in its stubby arms, both Misty and Danny rushed over to it.

“Aron, are you ok?” Danny frantically asked, grasping his Aron in his arms.

“I’m very sorry Danny, I didn’t mean to put Aron in so much damage.” Misty apologizing said.

“Yea, it’s ok.” Danny said, recalling his Pokemon back to its pokeball. “He’ll be ok, not to much damage.”

Danny walked away, heading for the door, when Misty stopped him. “Danny, whenever you want a rematch, come back anytime.”

“Yea, I will. But I refuse to lose next time.” He said, walking out the door, with Hiromi following him.

*******************

“Here’s your Pokemon, they’re all better now.” the receptionist at the Pokemon Center said, handing Danny his two pokeballs.

“Thanks.” Danny responded, putting his pokeballs back into his belt.

“Danny, that was a harsh defeat, are you ok?” Hiromi asked, concerned about how Danny took his first lose.

“I lost, that’s all there is. She was, no is, better than me.” Danny said, walking off out the doors.

He turned north, and headed to a large wooden bridge outside Cerulean, leaving Hiromi in the building behind him. When she finally caught up, she didn’t say anything, now wanting to disturb Danny.

“Where does this bridge lead to?” Danny finally asked, when they reached it.

“The map says that if you take this bridge north, then go east then south again, and you’ll reach the pass the Vermillion City.” Hiromi said, looking down at the map.

“So Vermillion is our next stop.” Danny mumbled to himself, walking towards the bridge.

“You’re,” a familiar voice from further up the bridge said.

Danny looked up, seeing the recognizable face of Chad. “You’re that guy, Chad.” Danny said, recognizing him at once.

“Whose Chad?” Hiromi asked, staring at the boy ahead of them.

“Some guy I met on the way to Viridian.” Danny responded, walking up to Chad.

“What are you doing here, I thought you would have quit a long time ago.” Chad mocked, scoffing at Danny.

“And why would I quit?” Danny asked, getting angry at Chad.

“Well when I first saw you, you were a talent less loser who won by nothing more than a fluke.”

“Fluke? Was it fluke that led to my Aron beating your Magnemite?” Danny asked, mocking Chad back.

“You want to see if it was fluke or not, come on then. Nuzleaf.” He shouted, tossing up a pokeball into the air. When the pokeball landed, a bipedal wood like Pokemon appeared. It had a single large leaf atop its brown head, with a gray mask covering its eyes, with a large pointy nose.

“Nuzleaf, never seen one in person. Exeggcute, you’re up!” Danny called, throwing Exeggcute’s pokeball in front of him.

“Exeggcute huh, not as impressive nor powerful as Nuzleaf.” Chad commented, looking at the scruffy eggs in front of Nuzleaf. “Quick Attack.”

Nuzleaf began to speed towards Exeggcute, its stubby little legs looking like a blur.

“Exeggcute, Reflect into Barrage!” Danny ordered, thinking out a plan to use against Nuzleaf.

“Nuzleaf, veer left. Dodge the barrier.” Chad ordered, unaffected by the defensive move.

“Exeggcute, forget Barrage, turn to form a ring facing outside, and shoot Sleep Powder.” Danny ordered, analyzing the situation in his head.

Nuzleaf skidded to a halt before running into the barrier, and ran to the left of the barrier. As Nuzleaf continued to head for Exeggcute, they exhaled their bright green Sleep Powder in the direction of the incoming Nuzleaf.

“Razor Wind, send Sleep Powder back to the Exeggcute.” Chad said, brushing the hair off of his pale forehead.

The leaf atop Nuzleaf’s head began to shine, while Exeggcute began to exhale the Sleep Powder. Nuzleaf rotated its leaf in a circular motion, building up speed for the Razor Wind attack. Nuzleaf cocked its head forward, and shot forward a razor-sharp gust of wind.

“Exeggcute!” Danny yelled, as the wind cut through Sleep Powder straight into the defenseless Pokemon.

Exeggcute was sent flying back in different directions, lying wilted on the ground. As the Exeggcute began to rise, all six of them began to glow a crimson red.

“What, Nuzleaf, Bullet Seed.” Chad commanded, not knowing what was happening to the Exeggcute.

“Hiromi, what is that?” Danny asked, turning to face Hiromi.

“I think that’s Hidden Power.” She answered, staring in awe at the blood red Exeggcute. “It’s an attack that varies on the user. Looks like Exeggcute’s Hidden Power turned out to be fire, lucky for you.”

“Lucky, yea.” Danny responded, turning back to face the battle. “Exeggcute, Hidden Power now!”

Exeggcute exploded in a flash of light, which flew in the direction of the leader of the pack, as Nuzleaf began to spit out a barrage of tiny seeds. The single immaculate Exeggcute then shot off a colossal beam of scarlet energy in the direction of Nuzleaf, disintegrating the Bullet Seed heading towards it. The Hidden Power attack made contact with Nuzleaf, setting it on fire.

“Crap,” Chad spat under his breath, reaching for Nuzleaf’s pokeball. “Return.”

“Heh, I doubt this victory was another fluke, admit it.” Danny said, recalling Exeggcute.

“Not a fluke?” he asked, looking questioningly at Danny. “Was it not a fluke that Exeggcute learned Hidden Power in the midst of battle, let alone one that had an advantage over Nuzleaf? You’re still talent less, I’m sure most of your victories have been fluke.”

Danny just stood there, tightening his grip on Exeggcute’s pokeball, not knowing what to say. As he thought about it, his victory against Brock was just lucky that Exeggcute’s Leech Seed immobilized Onix, and in the very first battle, against Chad, he would have lost had Aron’s Mud Slap not deflected Thunder Wave. It was also lucky that that same technique saved Aron from Fire Spin, and that Exeggcute learned Confusion against Samael.

“Next time we meet, either show some talent, or stay out of my way.” Chad said, brushing past Danny.

“Danny…” Hiromi said, watching Danny, not knowing what to say.

“Let’s go, I just remembered, you need to get your Cascade Badge.” he said, turning to walk back to Cerulean.

*******************

“So, you want to challenge me for a Cascade Badge as well?” Misty asked, talking to Hiromi.

“Yea, I missed my chance for the Boulder Badge back in Pewter City.” she explained.

“Ok, same rules as when I battled your friend, two-on-two.” the gym leader said, walking over to the other side of the pool.

“Lunatone, you’re up!” Hiromi yelled, tossing her newly obtained Lunatone’s pokeball into the pool. The moon Pokemon materialized overtop the water, looking around at its surroundings.

“Lunatone, huh. Seadra come out.” Misty said, tossing a pokeball into the water.

The Pokemon that emerged from the ball, Seadra, was what looked like a cobalt seahorse, with a vanilla colored underbelly. Seadra’s nose looked like that of a gun barrel, with its tail curled into a tight ball underneath its body. It had two large fins emerging out from its back, with tips the same color as its underbelly.

“Seadra, Aurora Beam.”

“Lunatone, defend with Shadow Ball.”

Seadra shot out a series of bright lights in the direction of Lunatone, only to have it deflected by a black sphere of unknown matter.

“Not bad,” Misty complemented, smiling. “Hydro Pump Seadra.”

Seadra dove under water, and began to speed to the floating Lunatone. When it emerged from the water, face to face with Lunatone, it shot out a pressurized stream of water, sending Lunatone flying back.

“Lunatone, end it now with Psychic!” Hiromi anxiously yelled.

Lunatone stabilized itself again, its eyes glowing. It then shot out a burst of blue energy at Seadra, making contact. Seadra flew out of the water, and landed on the floor next to the pool.

“Seadra, return.” Misty said, pointing her pokeball in the direction of Seadra. “Corsola.”

The pink and white coral Pokemon appeared on one of the platforms in the water, facing Lunatone.

“Spike Cannon Corsola!” the orange haired gym leader ordered.

“Lunatone, Reflect into Shadow Ball.” Hiromi said, having the upper hand in the match with a psychic type Pokemon.

Corsola shot off its Spike Cannon, the hoard of projectiles heading toward Lunatone. The moment the Spike Cannon reached Lunatone, the barrier shot forward sending it falling back to the ground. Lunatone then shot off another Shadow Ball towards Corsola.

“Corsola, dive and swim towards Lunatone, then Double Edge.”

Corsola dove into the water, just barely missing the Shadow Ball. Corsola emerged from the water, and jumped up to Lunatone. Lunatone in turn charged for Corsola, ramming its head into Corsola’s. Both rock Pokemon were sent flying in opposite directions, landing outside the pool.

“Corsola!”

“Lunatone!”

Both trainers ran over to their respective Pokemon, checking to see if they were ok. When they got to their Pokemon, both trainers recalled their Pokemon, as they were unable to battle.

“Well Hiromi, the Cascade Badge is yours.” Misty said, handing over a cerulean colored badge, the shape of a raindrop to Hiromi.

“Thank you Misty.” Hiromi said, looking down at her very first gym badge.

“Congratulations.” Danny said, walking over to her from the sidelines where he was standing. “Looks like you beat her.”

“Yea.” she said, smiling at him. “So where now, back up the bridge and head to Vermillion?”

“Sounds good, and I can get some training in on the way there.” Danny said, heading towards the exit of the gym.

walk like anEgyptian
good chapter, although it seemed like Hiromi's battle was too easy for her.

Isn't there something called Lover's Peak or whatever in Cerulean, i'm not sure but i think there is.

Danny losing adds an interesting element, HP fire against Chad was awesome

I just noticed that Danny still needs some aerial support *hint, hint*

P.S. i see that Golizard is reading now
