Journey Fic Ahoy!

Well I've decided that I'm going to do a journey fic because they are truly interesting to me.

QUESTIONS​

Two or Three characters?

Evil orginization?

Gyms and Contests?

Title?

WHAT I PLAN TO HAVE​

Two Boys and on girl if three. One boy and one girl if two characters.

New Gym Leaders.

If contests, than there'll be contest leaders.

The Gym's will have unique rules, kind of like Battle Frontier.

No Professor Oak/Elm/Birk starting point. Each of the protaginists have already recieved some pokemon. (from parents or self or gifts)

So please answer questions and provide any possible ideas or sugestions to make this THE BEST JOURNEY FIC!

Two, boy and girl. Three might make you run dry for lines, like I experienced later on in Enigma Shadow.

Evil Organization? Yes, but make them actually be evil. No comic relief like Team Rocket.

Gyms and Contests? Yes.

Title? How about: "Two Trainers, One Journey."

Two Trainers one journey, seems stale.... I want somethings captivating that draws people in...

A boy who wants to go on an adventure when he meets a girl who pulls him into contests with her. He gets interested in it and tries to go for the Grand Festival. i only had a plot and not a title soo yea

The only way this can ever possibly become 'the best journey fic' is if you come up with all the ideas and crap yourself. Any ideas you get from other people, unless used as inspiration or sheer luck and in unintended ways, are, to be honest, crap. They're worthless. You can get a fantastic idea, but if its come from another person, and it wasnt you that came up with the idea, then your story will fail.

I speak from experience when I say that writing from ideas of others never ceases to drain your enthusiasm from the fic. You might say now 'Oh thats not true, I get lots of ideas given to me, and I love all of them too much to get bored' but in the end, it wont work out.

My advice is to forget about getting ideas from others - plan thefic out more (I was once told that if you want to write a journey fic, then its best to plan out the characters' final team before you write), then write with your own ideas.

I disagree with you completely this is a pokemon Journey fic, guess where I got the idea of pokemon?

 

[Tale]

I mean for plots, not for the basis of the story. Sure, the idea of journeying comes from the games, but that is so well known, its become a widely used idea.

I'm talking about sub-plots and other forms of originality put into the fic. Try it, I'm not stopping you, just advising you. If your fic succeeds and you manage to finish it, tell me through PM and I'll gladly take the point back.
