July 1: The Powerpuff Girls Return, Japanese Style

It is now PowerPuff Girls Z and is a Magical Girl anime, complete with transformations, magical weapons, and the granting on powers to regular girls.

I'm actually interested in this series. I know I'll be watching it if I can.

EDIT: Oh, I should have mentioned that July 1 is the Japanese air date. There is no news of it being released anywhere else.

Are you sure that it is the same series redesigned, or is it just an american show with a japanese twist? I mean, was it made in japan for the west, or is it originaly aired in japan?

Well, the last time I knew about it was back when it was announced. It was only brought back to my attention now. So I don't know what's new news. Here are a few videos.

And the original Powerpuff Girls was for American television. The Japanese anime is a spin-off, so they aren't really the same.

Blossom and Bubbles' voices need to switch(that, or they mixed up the lines). Why couldn't they use the voices from the Japanese dub, cause those were nice...

Is it really going to air in the US on July 1st?! If so, I'm so stoked. I never thought this would come out here.

And YES, it is an anime. I think the series is finished in Japan, but I'm not sure. Either way if this is finally coming to America, then alright!

Edit: Sam Register was involved with the Japanese production, so I'm pretty sure the original creators didn't freak out about this. ^_^;

It's the same series redesigned - by the Japanese. But I see where your questioning comes from, considering shows like Teen Titans and the Boondocks (the latter of which I thought was an anime).

This looks like a cool animated remake with the same villains and storyline. I'd say it's much more digestible and not overly cutesy as the original.
edit: I read it more carefully and it isn't exactly the same storyline. For example, the girls aren't related.

No, it's a new series. It's Japan's own take on the Powerpuff Girls. The only relation they'll have with each other is the reuse of characters, which are a bit different from the originals.

Wow. It's gonna be yet ANOTHER Cartoon Network Original Series, just like IGPX. It might as well have a promo that's similar to the IGPX Season 2 promo. "New style of Animation, New powers, New characters, Same old Powerpuff Girls."

I looked around those clips and read that article about it. It does sound interesting and better than the American version. Most likely, it will be shown on Toonami, if its one of those Toonami original productions. Even though, for that IGPX show, since it was produced by Toonami, I didn't think that it was an anime. That clears up that confusion. I might give it a shot if it premieres in the US. The clips were interesting, but I wouldn't want to read and watch at the same time. But that's just me.

I knew that; I was just wondering if it's a new season of the anime. If that makes sense, lol. Let me start over.... I assumed Powerpuff Girls Z began in Japan over a year ago! Are you telling me it's JUST NOW going to premiere?! If that's true, then... wow. o_o;

I can pretty much predict this won't be as hillarious as the original Cartoon Network series. Perhaps the humor didn't work out too well in Japan? (As I know for a fact that the original US series aired in Japan; they even had their own unique Ending Sequence) Who knows...
