I beg to differ:

It's funny, I found Fergus to be the most pleasing human model given his body shape in accordance to the proportions of his face.

I think the shape of the irises maintaining the anime look is part of the reason why there's the uncanny valley look to them. Every other time we see 3D models, they have real-life shapes, even if the size of the iris takes over three-fourths of the eyeball. Honestly cannot recall a CGI anime movie with elongated elliptic irises and pupils.

I have been pretty salty about them not adapting Mewtwo's origin story BUT upon re-watching the movie I could not help but notice an interesting detail:

Could the glass chamber to the right of Mewtwo be a subtle reference to Amber?? It looks like special attention was made by the animators to make that particular chamber look distinct and different from the other glass tubes in the laboratory. If you play that scene over closely you will notice the other chambers in the room have the wires and security claws dangling from their ceilings just like Mewtwo's... but not this one.

The chamber looks small enough to fit either a small girl's body or the salvaged consciousness so there is no way that was meant to house a fully-grown Mewtwo. I mean I really could be grasping at straws here but I AM ALREADY SCREAMING INTERNALLY. gfdsagsdgerwt You have no idea how badly I want Amber to exist in this continuity.

Eh, I’m still not sure if I’m interested in seeing this movie, partly because the CGI humans look too uncanny for me, and partly because it’s not 4Kids cast reprising their roles

Finished.....they got rid of Tears of Life and Brother my Brother.....those 2 pieces of music made those scenes really stand out.

And Meowth had such a brilliant line in the original about how we have the same earth, the same sky, maybe if we stared looking at what’s the same instead of what’s different.....well who knows.....they changed it to talk about thinking of the moon at a time like this and that really effected the scene in a negative way.

It pains me that this multimillion company couldn’t just pay for the rights of tears of life and brother my brother to feature, and what infuriates me even more is how they could have brought back Misty’s original voice artist, she has done work for the newer dub when she voiced Maylene it would have been a nice touch to bring her back in the role of Misty

I liked how much they took from the original movie with some minor changes. However, and it's the thing I keep saying about these last movies, I don't like that in these "nostalgic" movies they don't revisit the original 4Kids soundtrack for the dub. This movie probably works for the Japanese audience, but for the Western "dub" audience I have very little connection to this movie (if any at all). Don't get me wrong, I really do like the Japanese soundtrack. But at the Birth of Mewtwo/Tears of Life/Brother song scenes, I just don't feel affected at all.

At least they remixed the original theme song at the beginning of the movie.

Ok, can I just say I'm happy that this movie did not forget about Seadra! Poor thing didnt have any screen time in the original, it was great to see the poor thing hop around and tackle each other. Also, rapidash deserved more screen time. But I'm biased since it's my fave

I saw part of the movie and did anyone notice that Scyther was flying its trainer? This brings up the question about why Scyther cant learn Fly.

Well there's a reason that trainer didn't make it.

I finished watching the movie just now and I have to say that the animation was really impressive especially with the tiny details of fur and water. I did laugh though when the clones started to fly into the sky because the way they were doing it plus the beam of light shining down on them looked like they were being raptured and ascending into Heaven. I was actually expecting harp music to play as they floated into the light.

I think i know why i have a problem with clone Meowth wondering about the full moon and maybe why 4kids changed it in the first place. It's a clone that was just created and also not a hyper intelligent Psychic-type like Mewtwo . How does it have any concept of what a full moon is?

It might have had some of Meowth’s intelligence.

I assumed that the clones had some of the same memories as their real counterparts. At least that was my head canon for the first movie, and since this movie is so similar, I'm going with that belief for now.

I saw the movie, and I have to say, I miss many of the songs of the background: "Brother my Brother", "Don't say you love me", "Catch me if you can" (although this was from Pikachu's short)... etc.

Probably for the same reason how Mewtwo knew things he shouldn't have (although I'm honestly surprised he still remembered things from when he was a kid after he was put in a deep sleep). It's possible the clones are intelligent as they are powerful since Mewtwo wanted the world to be inherited by clones like himself.

Also mind you, in the dub the clone Meowth told his original that they had a lot in common, but they had just met. Outside of looking alike, Meowthtwo shouldn't have known they had things in common like that they both have the same home on earth, breathe the same air, see the same sky.

Shouldn't this movie have a proper review thread in the Episode Discussions section?
