• Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future
Sorry for any inconvenience with this and sorry for any lost posts.

How I'd like to see this episode go. Absol takes out Noivern after Noivern swept 2 of Astrid's Pokemon and hit Absol with a Boomburst. Mega Absol loses to Hawlucha and that's the final match of Top 32(5 mins top). Story develpoment(5min). Sawyer vs Tierno Top 16 battle starts, but Ash is not there. Ash comes in in the moment when Sceptile Mega Evolves and knocks out Raichu(10 mins). Last few mins would be Ash congratulating Sawyer and after Sawyer leaves he has a flashback about talking to Keanan.
NEXT EPISODE:
Rushed top 8 for Alain,Sawyer and Ash. Keanan comes to Lumiose City with Goodra. Rushed semi-finals for Alain. Battle between Ash and Sawyer starts. How the battle will go(if Sawyer's 6th is really Slaking)
Talonflame-Slurpuff(Lose)
Talonflame(Back)-Clawitzer
Pikachu-Clawitzer(Back)
Pikachu(Lose)-Aegislash
Talonflame-Aegislash(Lose)
Talonflame(Lose)-Salamence
Noivern-Salamence(Lose)
Noivern(Lose)-Slaking
Goodra-Slaking starts and
NEXT EPISODE:
Goodra-Slaking(Lose)
Goodra(Lose)-Clawitzer
Hawlucha(Lose)-Clawitzer(Lose)-Hawlucha gets hit by super effective attacks, but due to Clawitzer's exhaustion it wins
Greninja-Sceptile(Loses, but it's close call)

Wish list for battle with Alain:
Hawlucha has to be the fall guy here so Pikachu could get 1 or 2 wins
Goodra,Talonflame and Noivern all get one win
Goodra or Noivern facing Charizard before Greninja
OR
I would want this to happen, but it's very unlikely. If Greninja loses to Mega Charizard, Pikachu is the last Pokemon to battle it and this battle could go either way. If Pikachu wasn't used before than the chances would be on Ash's side, but there is still a chance that their bond can create at least an attack powerful enough to defeat Mega Charizard(For Example if Pikachu learns a whole new move from gen 7 or something) but I doubt that will happen because Ash-Greninja is the spotlight of Kalos League.

Just pointing this out, but it's already confirmed that Tierno vs Sawyer is happening in the Quaterfinals(Top 8) given the fact that a summary for this episode specifically says there fighting for a spot in the semi-finals(Top 4).

Can noivern please get some love

Eh, probably not until the 6v6s. Although it does have the possibilty of revenge with Metang/Metagross, which will surely be impressive.

Any last day predictions for the episode's pacing/quality?

Top 32 and Top 16 montage in the beginning while announcer is talking and saying how Ash, Tierno, Sawyer and Alain beeezed through two rounds. And they are waiting in stadium to see the Top 8 match-ups. Then the opening.

After the opening we see the match-ups. Ash vs Astrid takes place first. We see the battle. Pikachu, Noivern, and Hawlucha vs Meowstic, Pyroar, and Mega-Absol.

Then immidiately to Sawyer vs Tierno. Slurpuff, Aegislash, Mega-Sceptile vs Raichu, Ludicolo, and Blastoise,

I could totally see this happening, though I would think for time purposes they would probably just say something along the lines of Ash having swept his Top 32 match when he finishes up his Top 16. Anyway, this definitely sounds like the most likely scenario to me.

I wonder if they'll build up Sawyer to be intimidating in this battle. I get the Feeling Mega Sceptile's gonna be made to look invincible here.

Really hope they don't rush the match like they did with the last episode. I don't want to see the title bout of Raichu vs Mega Sceptile be 30 seconds like with the Mega Charizard fight.

I really can't see them rushing the match like that. That whole fight was meant to be a curbstomp last episode...I can't see this being the same. Though I don't know how much Raichu vs. Mega Sceptile will be a focus outside of showcasing Lightning Rod.

I've been thinking, but what if Raichu vs Sceptile isn't the last battle? What if Tierno is actually up 2-1 at that point but after Lightning Rod activates, Sawyer destroys Raichu and what ever pokemon Tierno had recalled earlier.

This way, it would show just how strong Mega Sceptile is by defeating two straight pokemon while also making a huge point of showcasing its ability.

I could see that happening too...I almost might prefer that. Especially since one has to figure that Mega Sceptile's ability isn't all that well-known.

Oh, and I hope that Hawlucha's win here means good things for his future battles, but we'll see.

I have a feeling that his win against Astrid's mega Absol here might be his biggest achievement at the league. He might get wins against Sawyer's and Alain's teams later, but I doubt he'll top beating a mega. ^^

I don't see Noivern winning any battles at the league. It is totally outclassed in my opinion. Tierno might have some strategies to keep the battle going a bit longer.

I wonder who will star against Astrid then. Has to be Hawlucha or Pikachu. Hoping for Hawlucha to slay mega absol somehow.

By that logic, so is Alain's Metagross (who it nearly beat with ineffective attacks) and Sawyer's Aegislash, which it did defeat. I'd hardly call Noivern "outclassed".

agreed. I think it could potentially be a fall guy in one battle, but by no means outclassed and lose in every battle. Noivern has mostly fought pokemon it is supposed to be weak against when he fought Sawyer and Alain.

Exactly. It's probably too much to hope for no one to be the fall guy in any match, huh? Oh, well, if anyone is, I'd prefer Talonflame. That bird has enough battles under its belt. Share some with the rest.

Talonflame would be my preferred fall guy. Although I think that after beating Mega Absol, Hawlucha will be relegated to such duties. Noivern needs some love. writers!
