• Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future
Sorry for any inconvenience with this and sorry for any lost posts.

Again, stop with saying Raichu is Tierno's. Its not confirmed it is, so stop with that BS.

The arrival of the sixth member. Welp, arrival. That means Goodra or a reserve.

Who else owns a Raichu that is a major character? It isn't Ash's so Tierno is the obvious trainer.

SM Ash = New Ash
What other Raichu would have enough importance to be in the title?

Ash's Pikachu who very secretly evolves because he's tired of being the mascot.

Yeah, it's most likely Tierno. Not that I wouldn't mind a random Raichu, though. Besides, if they focus on the weather Abilities, it would be neat to see a combo of Drizzle/Rain Dance and Thunder (which may fall flat against Mega Sceptile, but it would still be cool to see).

Sure, it's not 100% confirmed. But who else of note would be using a Raichu in this battle? And there was the excuse made once before that "Ash and Tierno had been building up to a League battle" and I'm not sure how? Ash has beaten Tierno multiple times and never been defeated (unless you count that initial Froakie vs. Squirtle touch battle). If anything, Ash's interactions and battles with Tierno have been comparable to what he had with Barry and Bianca, and look what happened to them at the League. I'd have liked Ash and Tierno to have another battle at the League, I admit I was expecting them to get a short 3v3 or something, but I'm not surprised by the strong possibility that he's getting knocked out by Sawyer.

It's Tierno's. Stop being delusional.
To play devil's advocate, how do we explain Blastoise being on the front Pokefan with the other league preliminary Pokemon?

Yeah Tierno stopped being relevant to Ash ages ago tbh. He beat him ONCE in a battle where the only condition for victory was to touch the opponent first. The writers probably couldn't come up with a way to make the dance strategy seem effective anymore.

As long as Ash gets a few more battles besides Shota and Alan I don't care if they're against Tierno/Trevor or Ayaka or random people. Hell, I might even prefer random people. This is the league, where hundreds of powerful trainers gather, it's unrealistic for Ash to only fight people he already knows and overcoming unknown adversaries has its own charm.

Careful? Where's the fun in that?

His team was bland as **** once it was revealed. 3 Water Types (1 Dual Grass type), 1 Electric Type, and 1 Fighting Type

Tbh having known characters fight each other, in order to further hype up the winner (+ some new interactions) is a pretty common technique in tournament stuff. As much as we'd like it the league isn't just about seeing Ash's fights, that's what the badge quest is for.

Like no one complained about Goku not getting to fight Yamcha, Krillin, Tien, Chaozu, Cyborg Tao, Kami AND Piccolo all in one tournament. Shota and Alan are the ones Ash is invested in right now, and those battles are the ones we should get.

False. We could have known this a long while ago but SSS never brought that little part up.
Yeah I was speculating, but it's pretty obvious that's the likeliest explanation.

I agree with this.

People act like it only makes sense or is only fun for Ash to fight people he knows and no one else. I'd love to see another fight against a random trainer
like Katie (Hoenn League) that can hold their own.

Love this anime writing

"Highly experienced Ash struggles tremendously to master ash Greninja form"
"New and upcoming trainer Shota masters mega evolution with his sceptile in practically a few days"

I don't think Mega Evolution is actually supposed to be hard, you just need a strong bond and an item. The reason Corrina's Lucario went insane was because of its "Aura", that's what they said in the episodes at least. I mean there might be some training involved, but I doubt every Mega user goes through the same amount of struggles as Korrina did. Sycamore handled Mega Garchomp perfectly fine the first time it evolved.

I don't remember correctly, but wasn't their problems stemming from the fact they were too comfortable with each other?

Strongly agree. Ash Greninja in the other hand is without any tool and require some special condition and more effords to master it.

Have something to do also with the aura, and aura is pretty much a Lucario-only thing

Honestly Korrina is the only character we've seen have any struggle with a Mega mon, there's been no real reason to believe that will ALWAYS be the case, it certainly isn't in the games
