June 15th: SM30 - Lilie, Take Good Care of Pikachu

Well those usually happened when they just visited the region, and there is usually an interference from either TR or that mechanical raikou. I don't know what could possibly trigger it in this episode.

Togedemaru or Charjabug gave Pikachu too much electricity during playtime. How's that for a reason?

Hmmmm. I do wonder what this title could mean. Lillie taking care of a Pokémon besides Shiron does seem like a rather solid theory. It would probably help her get over her fear. Or maybe start nibbling away at her amnesia.

Sounds possible in theory, but I don't see it happening. Togedamaru has always been hyper around Pikachu while playing and yet has never had to release electricity. And Charjabug just seems to be in that wheel to power electricity for Sophocles.

Oh and I know most people are predicting it to be a Lillie episode, and while that seems the most likely, I really hope this is actually a Mallow episode. She really needs another episode, and episodes 29 already looks like it could focus on Lillie, so I really don't think episode 30 should focus on her again.

You'd have to have insane levels of faith to believe this won't be filler.

Way too soon for Pikachu's exclusive z-move to be shown, maybe hinted, but I have hard time imagine that the pancake episode was really non filler just because Lillie's egg hatch because it was recapped in the following episode.

And even if this is Lillie development, it'll still ultimately boring, I mean maybe it could be touching and heartwarming but still ultimately boring.

And even then (in regards to Lillie) WE JUST got Gladion, maybe Lana should have an episode, perhaps another capture. Is potential Lillie touching Pikachu THAT important right now?

Would've preferred a Rowlet-centric episode with Rowlet in the title. Or you know Ilmia showing up. But of course reality is worse than fiction in situations like this, has always been the case with maybe the exception of the XYZ Team Flare plot.

Like what? Every time she touches a new Pokemon onwards, a piece of her memory from her past comes back? I'd like to see that (though the chances are possibly low IMO).

Considering Lillie wasn't shown being affected by Morelull, that's what makes people think she's important in EP029. Also, we'll probably be getting a preview this coming Sunday since the episode airs on the 8th,

The order of importance for the schoolmates is probably something like Lillie>Kiawe>Mallow>=Lana>=Sophocles. Lana is probably naturally going to get focus as Popplio's Trainer (heck, Oceanic Operetta is a logical extension of her goal) and Sophocles just had an episode so Mallow is the only one who is in need of an episode right now since her last one was more about Bounsweet.

Well going purely off her game character and her development, I think she deserves the glory for being one of the best written characters across all the mains series games.

However I'm less than impressed with anime Lillie, since I don't find her phobia of touching pokemon as interesting as her game counterpart's struggles. Well of course it could all change later, but as things stand, I don't like anime Lillie too much.

Perhaps maybe a Magnemite could fall in love with Pikachu like was the case in Sparks Fly for Magnemite? Pikachu was sick in that episode. XD

I'm starting to lean towards this being a Mallow episode now. Mallow is probably good with making medicine out of herbs and use them in her cooking too and the title does give me the impression that either Ash or Pikachu will be sick. I'd like it if it's like that one Orange Islands episode where Misty had to search for stuff to make a cure for Ash and Tracey.

That's a LOT of assuming for a preview that didn't reveal a lot. I mean are we so sure that Kiawe/Lana/Sophocles/Mallow were ACTUALLY affected? (and it wasn't just a comedic joke like Bounsweet using Sweet Scent in the episode it evolved into) Especially with the severe lack of Lillie in the preview. And Ash wasn't shown like Kiawe/Lana/Sophocles/Mallow and we know he was affected by Morelull, at this point we're only assuming.

If there's an episode of Team Rocket trying to capture a shiny Jangmo-o, and Ash comes in at the last moment and captures the Jangmo-o and he has a very sparse importance in the episode prior to that, doesn't automatically make it an Ash episode, just that Ash didn't something non-filler/important, sort of like Lillie in the Pallosand episode, just because she really helped didn't make it a Lillie episode.

At the moment I'd argue the Pokemon are more likely to help than Lillie. After all we haven't seen the Pokemon being affected

PRETTY sure that's only because Lillie has an important role in the games, and easily had the biggest role in the games after the player character.

Of course the anime would do that since she's actually in the anime series.

Remember though Lillie was NOT in the Dugtrio episode and was the only one absent.

Actually, the SM! figure is XY Ash with Greninja and Pikachu, I've seen it's base form online already.
