Well I have been proven wrong.
...Not that I was terribly invested in my "no game characters" hypothesis anyway. I am more than happy to be proven wrong on it. Because I did want to see game characters. Heck, I wanted a full-on Scarlet & Violet adaptation because I thought the story of ScarVi would lend itself excellently to a year-long anime. Which... surely will not happen but hopefully we can at least get Area Zero at some point? Because come on, Area Zero is entirely too cool to not get animated.

It depends. We're getting a gym leader debut here as well, so if someone like Roy decided to pursue gyms as a way of getting stronger, he would be returning to Paldea more often to challenge gyms.

Also, with Area Zero being heavily tied to Liko's own story and family, that's another excuse to visit Paldea more often than other regions.

Yeah, they did. That was a part of the promotional material, that the whole world would be stage for adventure.

Really excited to see how they handle this. If this is a battle episode, I couldn’t have asked for a better staff lineup for it.

Considering Sato himself is handling episode 9, but not this one, 9 is likely to be the big important episode of the two. Possibly the one introducing these characters.

Technically there is no "first" gym leader anymire heh, also Brassius was the first revealed gym leader and usually still one of the first ones you can battle
I battled him first myself
Nemona also appears very early on

He was actually the second. Grusha was the first Gym Leader revealed.

At the recent Japanese video game award, game freak actually won a award for SV's plot.
Nemo being here likely means that the other to Rivals will pop up and we will most likely get an adoption of the area 0 plot since Liko is already tied to it

Well, back in Journeys Bede was straight up excluded from the anime altogether while Hop only made a brief cameo role so that Gou would have someone to banter with during the Master Class Tournament and Gou actually took Hop's role in the Darkest Day arc. Nemona being here doesn't mean that we'll see Arven and Penny too due to the anime's track record of giving game rivals smaller roles or even excluding them entirely.

I’m seeing more people talk about the “no game characters” discussion than people who genuinely believed they wouldn’t show up lol. Regardless, hyped to see them start to incorporate the cast. Lowkey hoping Nemona is a rival for Friede
