Thanks for the pictures. *sigh* I know it's for the plot, but I don't like that Guzma lose in that situation, Sun's Pokémon shouldn't be that strong. With Masquerain is OK, but Golisopod who has a REALLY strong Defense?
Well... some interesting things.
First it's that Olivia was in panic because she didn't want Guzma to win, but Hala didn't mind. He says that the strongest is the one that deserves it. Then when Sun attacks at the end, Moon turns away to prepare her medicine. Hau is confused "Are you THAT sure he's going to win?" and she says "Of course". That shows that Moon trusts Sun really well.
Then when Guzma loses and hits his head, he retreats his Pokémon and says "That was a good fight, Masquerain, Golisopod. Next time, we'll destroy them". That was such a Trainer-like moment for him. After that Olivia insists that Guzma has at least to stay and watch the rest of the festival. But he says "Are you giving me orders, old woman?" (not really old, but oba-san is used with middle-aged, she doesn't take it well lol) and the foreshadowing happens "The only one who can give me orders is THAT person."
Then I think that Gladion says that he will speak with Moon only if she wins, which she thinks "I knew he'd say that..." And then it's just Moon fangirling with her Poison types. Sun thinks she's a real "Poison Woman"
Edit: Oh yeah also, Guzma uses Water Sport with Masquerain so that Litten's Fire attacks aren't that effective. Moon thinks it's surprising that someone like him doesn't just use offensive attacks. And that is actually curious because game-Guzma apart from Swords Dance I don't think he uses that much of a strategy. Between this and that he praises his Pokémon, the manga is trying to give us the picture that he's truly a Trainer.
