Hey, i was just wondreing are Diamond/Pearl STRICTLY for Ds? Its just that i dont have a DS and aren't really planning on getting one. If it is only for DS is it possible to get it on a emulator? Or if not, do you think it would they would be worth buying a DS for these games?

Yes it's only on the DS & I can't tell you if they are worthy or not [buying a DS] because they didn't come out yet.........If you want them then you should get a DS

If I didn't already have a DS, I wouldn't even have to think. I'd be down the shops the day they were released, and I'd get Pokémon Diamond and a DS (Lite).

Do you really want to use an emulator on a DS game? Nah. And if you pay attention, you'll notice that every "generation" series pokemon game was mae for a different Gameboy system. And yes, the DS is a Gameboy, they made that "Not GameBoy" crap up just in case the system failed.

Red, Green & Blue : Gameboy
Gold, Silver & Crystal (especially): Game Boy Color
Ruby, Sapphire & Emerald: Game Boy Advance
Diamond, Pearl & third version: Nintendo DS

Someone hasn't been reading the stickies......
Diamond/Pearl are confirmed to be STRICTLY for the DS.
An emulator won't help you if you plan on playing in tournaments and most emulators will lose players if in fact the game goes competitively wi-fi.
Not worth it for just these games but have you seen the line up of games that are being made..... there are some serious games being made that would be great to play and alot of them are being sold cheaper than some GBA games.
If you absolutely do not want to buy a DS..... there is a slight slight chance that, in liue of nintendo's statements that the GBA would not be retired and would still be used as well as the DS, that they could possibly make a GBA version for the new pokemon but it wouldn't be diamond/pearl and would come later.
I highly doubt this though seeing as the Nintendo Wii console is not too much farther away and it seems that the DS will be able to wirelessly link to it in some way. and this would rule out any chance of a new stadium/colosseum being released for the cube

Is strickly for DS, and IMO, i'm ok with that, the wifi alone is enough to make me run screaming to wal-mart and buy a ds just for this game alone! lol.

as for the emulation, to my knowledge, the current DS emulators on the market today, are horrable, and buggy and all around total crap.

Diamond and Pearl are confirmed to be on the DS only.

Yep. I already have a DS, but if I were you, I'd wait for the DS Lite to be released, then buy one and Pokemon Diamond or Pearl. Whichever one you want.

Yeah, ok!
It's on the DS because every Pokemon gen has been on a new system. This is the way the videogame industry works, a console/handheld lifespan only goes for a certain number of years until we move on to the next console.

Why would Nintendo put D/P on the dying GBA instead of making it a flagship title on the DS? Why would Nintendo put it on GBA when R/S were the official GBA games? Why in the world is this question even being asked?

I'm amazed that on a Pokemon forum of all things, people don't know how the videogame industry works.

Yup only for DS. You should by a DS instead of an emu (Emulator) Because on emu's there's no wifi or touchscreen or mic or any of the really cool DS features.

If they really wanted to make it the flagship game of the DS console, they should have made it a console release title, >.<

Yes, it's strictly for the DS console.

Does anyone know how much a Nintendo DS costs? [/off-topic]

Ugh, I really, really don't want to bother to buy DS, so I'm waiting to see if the games are totally awesome. If they aren't, I'm jsut not going to waste the money to buy one.
