Aaaand the RP begins. The first part of the post is well, an example how dangerous TR is atm :x

-

Her name was Janice Joy. She wasn't an aspiring Pokemon trainer though, even if she had a half grown Growlithe puppy given to her from an Aunt in the police force.

Janice and Growly were normal, every day beings. Janice didn't have a mean bone in her body, and was training to be a pokemon nurse, to replace her mother in Viridian, or maybe travel to Johto or somewhere else far away to work. Janice didn't care.

But her dreams were crushed one night as she was working late. Several people broken into the pokemon center, Janice tried to protect the pokemon. But one half grown teen and a half grown puppy were no match for the burgalurs, and Janice's life was silenced, forever.

-

“Oh god, oh my little baby, oh,” A woman with soft pink hair sobbed out, face burried in her hands as a man, evidently her husband, tried to comfort her, and not break down into tears himself. The Jenny on the scene of this crime also looked forlorn. It was bad enough it was a child that was killed, but from their own family?

And what stung them all the worst, was they knew who had done it. But the chances of catching the real crimanals was slim to none.

~

You've probably have heard it on the news. Another tragedy. But it's been mostly censored, so you don't know what happened to the full extent. Though you know the possible culprits were very evil. Not much else information wise was given out from the media though.

The new day dawning in Pallet Town is bright. The egg you've recived a month ago has either hatched by now, or is in the process of hatching. You already have recived the items you need for your quest. A cellphone, a Pokenavi, and other such devices. Even a Pokedex for information about wild pokemon you encounter!

The future looks bright for you…

ooc: I am really not sure what to start with.

The day was like any other happy day in pallet town, or on the outskirts of it. The grass was tall and the few trees growing strongly. It was a good day for trainers as the weather was just fine. The chirps and cries of wild pokemon came as certian ones went along with their daily lives.

The sweet town of pallet was set away from all the hustle and bustle of most cities and larger towns. Always being the quiet and simple town it was made it very easy for it to be a starting point in pokemon training.

Now being a town there had to be more then one way to travel, but being a trainer there was only one thing one could do at the start of their journey.

Walk.

But the rookie didn't mind walking, he had done it most of his life and since he wasn't born from pallet he had to make the journey by bus and stay there for some time until his age hatched. But it wasn't a cheap thing to start one's journey, plus the best way to gain experince was to battle.

But Nyx wasn't quite prepared to battle. His freshly hatched baby pokemon seemed anything but willing at the moment, as it was still a babe and was smaller then what Nyx would have hoped for. He didn't exactly get the prime of the hatchings. But he knew very well this wasn't a common pokemon, the rock insect was known for its strength in its next stage.

But it would be a long time tell they got there.

The seventeen year old looked down at the small creature, its little eyes looking up at him with the most amazing stare, its world so fresh and new and everything was so large and different. It... no he, didn't know what to make of it.

Nyx wished he could have been given a pokemon of more experince, at least not a baby. But he wasn't complaining, he can make anything work. The tough looking young man turned, slipping his hands into his pocket he began to make his way away from the town. A squeak later and the Anorith was moving its bitty legs as fast as it could after the human.

It was a baby and though they were not one to imprent parents, as they did not need parenting for survival, it had all ready learned that this human was a food source and thus could not stray far.

Nyx shrugged as he walked, looking up he slid a pair of sunglasses out of his pocket and over his eyes, before sliding his hands back into his pockets and walking. It was a few minutes before a tiring squeak was heard and Nyx looked back with an annoyed face, as his starter was slow and took at least a minute to catch up.

The baby creature squeaked again before it scurried quickly and clamped onto the trainer's jean leg, Nyx gave the pokemon a look before sighing.

"At least your not stupid." he commented before turning and starting on his journey once more. He knew he had to get this creature some where presentible before he even dared to battle it. He knew why pallet was always chosen as a starter town, the pokemon around it were not bothered greatly by human devolpment and preditors, they were not very strong and perfect for training pathetic creatures like his new starter.

Nyx grumbled as the baby squeaked again, wanting attention from its food source though it received none. The rookie trainer just continued on his way, passing through grass here and there as the path sometimes wasn't the most steady.

OCC: So sorry this took so long, Ren, and a second apology is needed for the quality of the post, too. I just found myself deleting intros over and over again before I forced myself to write, and then settle on one. I'm sure its just this once though, the next post should see me more involved in the RPG, which should hopefully improve my speed and quality ^^;. Again sorry.

BIC:

A little Houndour, barely a foot in length, had emerged two days ago from a large egg, brown in hue with patches of soft pink dotting the surface, and already, it was facing the harsh reality of the outside world in its own way.

“Keep up, Fern; we should’ve been out of here hours ago!” Mordacai, although elated upon the arrival of his first ever Pokemon companion, and trembling with the anticipation of setting off on his Pokemon Training journey, was already feeling slight reluctance after facing his first challenge in Pokemon Training. Training his Pokemon.

Though he had to admit, training a dog of darkness to walk a few feet without tripping was harder than it needed to be, and Mordacai had always imagined the skill to come naturally to dogs of Fern’s species. Houndours were renowned for their acute sensitivity, and instinctive tendencies, right? That’s what he heard. But it seemed Fern was a little slower than most, at least in her earlier years, and although she knew who her owner was (one thing he was grateful for), she struggled in keeping a steady pace alongside him.

“Uhh, heel!” Mordacai ordered with uncertainty, in a feeble attempt to speed the Houndour a little, or perhaps get her walking for at least ten seconds straight. Her unsteady legs, however, wouldn’t allow such a thing, and it took two more stumbles before she finally plunked herself before her despairing Trainer, watching him with expectant eyes as if he was the one slowing the two of them down.

Mordacai slapped his forehead. He refrained from returning the dog to her Pokeball, but he was growing weary of their lack of progression. The Pallet sunrise was almost over, and Mordacai had aimed to have left he town by noon – a feat he thought would have been achieved with inevitable ease.

The fields he had been admiring the night before were plainly in sight, just a few miles forward and the two would have been trekking atop a grassy hill, overlooking Pallet with memories flowing through their minds as they bid their final farewell…well, Mordacai would have at least. Fern would most likely be struggling to climb the hill, let alone use it as a pedestal for flashbacking. Not that she had much to flashback on.

Mordacai knelt to face his Pokemon, admiring the sheen of her jet black coat in the soothing sunlight that cast various shadows across the small town. Just as he did this, Fern began to yap incessantly, twirling on the spot and then slumping back to the ground with her tail wagging furiously, as she stared up at him with what little innocence her genetically evil-looking eyes contained.

Mordacai sighed, the little beast was cute, immensely so. His pride swelled as he watched her begin to pant; this little dog was his, and he was going to train it to the best of his ability, and bond with it as they faced every challenge the title of Trainer threw at them. He failed to suppress a chuckle, and he petted the dog on the head lovingly before rising to his feet again.

Sighing as he watched her do the same, Mordacai set his eyes back on the graveled path he was heading down, before whistling for Fern to follow, and continuing at their sluggish pace.

Ooc: I'm afraid my situation is similar to Tale's. I couldn't think of a good way to introduce my character, so the quality of my first post isn't quite what I'd like for it to be.

Bic: The golden sun shone brightly on the serene picture of beauty known as Pallet Town. There wasn't a single cloud to block the magnificent rays of sunlight it cast upon the citizens. The crystal blue sky hung above the town, giving aspiring young trainers something to look up to for confidence and strength. The cries of wild Pokemon filled the fresh air, ringing through the ears of Pallet Town's inhabitants. Such qualities made this the perfect day for young Pokemon Trainers to start their journey through the Kanto Region.

One such trainer was a teenage male by the name of Evan Seraph. The fourteen-year-old stood at the outskirts of Pallet Town, standing silently alongside his first Pokemon; a newly hatched Water-type Pokemon known as Totodile. The two just stayed in that one spot, standing in ankle high grass wafting gently in the breeze. A strong yet emotional look filled Evan’s dark brown eyes, while Totodile was a bit clueless as to why they weren’t continuing their journey. The water Pokemon looked up at his new trainer, a perplexed expression occupying his blue face.

To the average human, it would have been somewhat clear what Evan Seraph was doing; he was taking one last look at his hometown before moving on to bigger and better things just as his friends had predicted he would one day do. Though Totodile, who had only experienced life itself for but a few hours, wasn’t aware of the things one usually goes through upon leaving one’s place of residence. So, she continued to stare at her trainer in a wide-eyes fashion, tilting her little crocodile-like head to the side ever-so-slightly to see him from a different perspective. Finally, Evan realized that his starter was looking up at him, and snapped out of his state of absent-mindedness.

“Oh, sorry, Totodile. I guess I just got a little distracted there. C’mon, my friend, we’ve got a long walk ahead of us.” Evan said kindly, looking down at his Pokemon with a care-free expression on his face.

Totodile gave a swift nod of acknowledgement, and the two were on their way once more; yet again trekking through the grass-covered route just beyond Pallet Town’s outskirts. It wasn’t long, however, before Evan realized that the small blue infant he’d become accustomed to seeing in the corner of his eye was no longer walking beside him. Casually, he stopped in his tracks and looked down towards where Totodile had once been: seeing, as he’d expected, nothing but the flora native to his surrounding area. He looked behind himself, his eyes following the path he had taken from Pallet Town to his current location. As he did so, he caught sight of his starter stumbling down the path awkwardly- her tiny legs incapable of moving fast enough to keep up with Evan. The boy drew in a deep breath, letting it out in the form of a sigh. Simultaneously he placed his hand on his forehead and smiled amusedly.

"You doing alright, buddy?" Evan asked, raising his voice just loud enough for Totodile to hear. “I could always call you back into your Pokeball if you haven’t exactly mastered the art of walking yet.”

“Toto!” Totodile replied, attempting to show her determination by continuing her ‘journey’ to where Evan was standing rather than taking the easy way out.

“Heh…ya gotta love her determination…” Evan said under his breath, chuckling.

Finally, after a minute or two of waiting, Evan was reunited with his starter as she finally caught up to him. Upon reaching her trainer, the Totodile opened up her surprisingly massive jaws and let out a cry of joy. Evan looked down at her with a smile. It was quite amusing, in his opinion at least, to watch her struggle to complete even the smallest task, then go completely ecstatic upon doing so. Still, as happy as Evan was to have received Totodile as a starter, he knew very well that she would still require some training before she would be capable of battling a wild Pokemon, much less that of a more experienced Pokemon Trainer.

<It’s gonna be a long journey… > Evan thought. <…I just hope that Totodile will be okay in her first battle… >

Sorry the first posts were so hard, I thought leaving it open with no set guidline really for the first post would be easier for everyone, not harder. Sorry. Well to help you guys along here is optional plot. If you want to have something to react too, here is something to react too :p remember it's optional.

As Nyx walks along with his newborn Anorith, he hears someone exclaiming loudly: "No Su, bubble! Use bubble!"

Getting closer he can see it's a trainer, a bit younger than himself, with long blond hair, crystal blue eyes and a short white shirt and khaki pants, trying to get a small tadpole like Poliwag to attack a Rattata contentedly gnawing away at a piece of bread the trainer had evidently left out as bait.

"Pooliiie?" The Poliwag asked confusedly, showing it had probably just hatched into the world only hours ago... and was looking a bit on the dry side thanks to the careless trainer.

Tale

"Toge, toge, toge, toge," it was soft and almost sounded like crying, and upon a bit more investigating, would leag to a softly crying egg like pokemon. A small ring like ornament was attached to a headspike, showing it was an owned pokemon, or more than likely a pet. And a baby pet at that. The Togepi was too lost in crying from fear and confusion to see you/Fern.

Scar

The grass rustles. There's a low sound.

ALL OF A SUDDEN A HOPPIP APPEARS.

sorry I didn't know what else to give you other than I got the fact you wanted Totodile to get a bit stronger. The Hoppip only knows splash btw :x

Nyx got a dry look as he came apong the scene. Was this child so pathetic that she could not get her pokemon to obey her? What a sad sight it was, she did not deserve to be training. At least his pokemon knew that he was the food source thus the master.

"Anorith." Nyx said looking down, the bug like pokemon blinked its strange eyes before crawling off his leg. It had learned by now to obey this name. Nyx had gone over the attacks his pokemon would learn from his pokedex and had tested them to see if the pokemon had known them. It isn't easy training a baby to do things.

"Attack the Ratatta, use scratch." Nyx ordered. His pokemon looked about in confusion as to who exactly it should attack. The young man bent down and pointed at the Ratatta. Figuring it out, the bug scurried quickly towards it and leaped out with a strange push and jumped onto the rat, which probably startled the other trainer and her pokemon.

Nyx called over "You know girl, you should have better control over your pokemon." he snapped.

OOC: Yes, I couldn't exactly think of a very good intro, either. So forgive me if this one isn't as good as the previous posts. Oh and I will not be on until Friday, unless I manage to get on tomorrow.

For most people, it was another normal day at Pallet Town. But, for a group of Trainers, it was the beginning of a great journey. The sun shone brightly high above the skies of the small town. Daisies decorated the small patches of grass around the outskirts of Pallet Town. The sky was clear, not a cloud in sight. It was the perfect day to start a journey, for most people.

But for one Trainer, Ruby, it would be a long day, as her new Pokemon was stumblnig over the soft grass. It was an Electrike, otherwise known as the Lightning Pokemon. It had hatched from a blue egg decorated with yellow spots not even a week ago. It had grown to about a foot and a half tall since them, and had rapidly gained to 25 lbs. A day before, the little green Pokemon had given Ruby a small shock when she tried to pet it. Apparently, it wasn't too fond of her.
Suddenly, the Pokemon fell as it had tripped over a rock.

"You okay, Electrike?" Ruby asked it. The Electrike nodded quickly, and hopped back on to its short legs. "Well, if you get tired, just say so..."

The Pokemon only glared up at her, obviously wondering why she would even think that thought. "Lec, lectrike," he said, starting to move ahead of his Trainer.

Sighing, Ruby moved back in front of it. The little dog-like Pokemon may have looked cute at first, but it had a mind of its own, and, apparently, needed time to warm up to new people. Electrike growled at her a little bit, but while it was doing so, fell and tripped over another stone.

"Really, we can--" Ruby started. Electrike merely jumped up again, ignoring his trainer's words. Ruby smiled at her Pokemon, glad that it wasn't one to give up so soon. It was a lot like her, actually. In the midst of her thoughts, she realized that Electrike had gotten far ahead of her. "W-w-wait up!" she cried, dashing forwards to catch up with it.

"Totodile, it looks like it's time to find out what you're made of, buddy." Evan called out to his newly-hatched Pokemon, his brown eyes focused intently on the small Pokemon bouncing up and down perpetually before them.

"Totodile!" Totodile merely responded by yelling out her own name and walking over to her trainer's side; albeit awkwardly, but at the very least she was now able to get herself from Point A to Point B without stumbling or tripping over her own two feet.

The duo stood side-by-side, both ready for the battle at hand. However, while Evan's eyes reflected that he was taking the situation seriously, Totodile still had that same innocent smile she had worn since birth. To her, it seemed, this battle was just a game. Evan wished that he, too, could have that mindset...one that didn't know the meaning of hatred. Totodile was about to fight and, hopefully, defeat this Hoppip, and yet she still showed no signs of disliking it. It wasn't something Evan intended to harp on, just something he'd noticed.

<Oh well... > Evan thought, smirking out of shear anticipation. <I can't say that hatred doesn't have its strengths...There aren't many, but it does keep me on my guard. I guess we couldn't live without some degree of dislike, but whatever. Nevertheless...I have a battle to fight. And I intend to win... > “Totodile, let’s start simple; use Scratch!”

Totodile, instinctively knowing how to use the move Scratch, ran toward her opponent as fast as her newly-developed legs could take her. Though Hoppip attempted to avoid the attack, it too was apparently young, and thusly didn’t have enough speed backing up its movements. Totodile swung her claw back, and then immediately thrust it forward. Totodile was able to get enough momentum that she was actually able to knock Hoppip off the ground and into the air. The lightweight-Pokemon rose into the air, actually getting carried back a few feet by the gentle breeze which had picked up since Evan left Pallet Town.

After a few seconds of this, it finally landed on the ground once more, looking severely weakened by the attack, though it wasn’t ready to give in yet. As soon as its tiny, almost nonexistent feet hit the soil, Hoppip began bouncing up and down in a seemingly perpetual motion. Evan merely raised one eyebrow at Hoppip’s strange reaction to getting attacked. It wasn’t long before he realized what exactly Hoppip was doing.

“Totodile…I think that…this is how Hoppip is attacking us…” He said, scratching the back of his head out of confusion. “It must be using Splash. Oh well, it can’t be helped. Totodile, use Scratch again!” Evan commanded, pointing toward the still rather docile-looking Hoppip.

Totodile nodded swiftly, signifying that the order had been received and understood, and ran toward Hoppip again, doing exactly as she had done the first time around. This time, however, Totodile’s Scratch attack was able to finish off the already-weakened Hoppip; knocking it off the ground and into the air once more. Because of its current state, Hoppip was no longer able to resist the breeze which was carrying it away, and was thusly blown off into the distance, defeated.

“Great job, Totodile. Looks like we won our first Battle.” Evan remarked, smiling down at his Pokemon.

“Toto! Totodile!” Totodile exclaimed, jumping up and down excitedly.

“Yeah…you were awesome, but we’ve still got a long ways to go. We’ll probably run into a LOT more Pokemon on our way to the next town…hopefully ones that can actually attack us.” Evan sighed, recalling how Hoppip virtually had no way of damaging Totodile. “Think you can handle it?”

“Toto-dile!” Totodile nodded, as if to say ‘of course.’

“Yeah I thought so.” Evan said calmly. “C’mon, we’d better get going.”

The Rattata was probably thinking something along the lines of holy fecking mother of moon cheese! as the Anorith pounced upon it to use the scratch attack. It tried to fight back but the rock bugs armor plating was just too strong for such a low level normal type.

The trainer let out a squawk at first a wierd looking walking carpet like thing pouncing a rattata the Poliwag was supposed to attack. Then just about fell over as the Poliwag let out a startled cry and ran into her trainers legs.

"You know girl, you should have better control over your pokemon." the trainer heard from the apparent owner of the Anorith. And this caused the young trainer to twitch.

"I am not a girl you doduo! I'm a guy! Poliwag attack him!"

"Poooliiiiwaa," the poliwag whimpered from behind the guy, which caused him to let out a groan of frustration.

Mordacai’s eyes wandered to the ring upon the baby’s head-spike as he began to pass by, and first began to consider nothing of it, only to walk on and leave the Pokemon. It may have been crying, but it appeared owned, it was none of his business, intervention with the matter could only have led him to trouble…

But that outlook was not shared by his stumbling Houndour, who seemed to divert her tracks behind Mordacai to curiously sniff at the baby, having never seen the Pokemon before in her brief life. Fern spotted the baby almost immediately, and with her ears pricked upwards, she slowly crept towards it with a playful glint in her eye.

Mordacai himself wouldn’t have noticed, if it were not for the sudden yapping that was soon to follow, as Fern began leaping around the weeping Togepi as if urging the baby to play. Mordacai turned instantly and darted over to Fern, who he scooped up in both his arms, and scalded for straying from the path. It was harsh, but it was always advised to be harsh with babies…right?

Nevertheless, he felt as if he was now forcefully sucked in to the situation now that his Pokemon had intervened, so he knelt before the Pokemon, admiring its cutesy appearance, failing to suppress a smile as a consequence, and he whispered for its attention.

“Hey there little guy, where’d you come from?” He didn’t expect an answer, but a reaction was what he aimed for.

Nyx paused a second before looking over at this pokemon who seemed thrilled at the sounds the ratatta was making and was trying to make swiss cheese out of it. "Use a swords dance then scratch again." he ordered.

Anorith leaped back his class snipping as it turned around in a full circle, a soft glow apearing as the attack took affect, leaving the ratatta time to either attack back or retreat.

The rookie trainer looked at the girly boy before blinking and smirking.

"You're a boy?" he asked and a small chuckle came to him, "I could understand why a girl would be having trouble, they tend to be too soft on their pokemon but.." he chuckled, "Thats just amusing." he said before looking back at his pokemon. Nyx was rather amused actually, this was the most... interesting situation he had been in so far on his journey, his pokemon was doing well and he was all ready feeling better about it.

His pokemon would not be a weakling, none of his pokemon to be will. He will see to that and he will teach pathetic trainers that there isn't room for babying, if a pokemon doesn't know how to listen to you, whats the point in having them. Its a companionship, they work for him and he takes care of them, Nyx wasn't a heartless monster, he just wanted the best.

The Togepi whimpered, it wasn't afraid of the Houndour or the human, but it was upset over something else. Whimpering again it used its little arms to rub at its bead like black eyes and cried for a few more seconds before uttering a weak "Togepriii," in responce.

Lady Myuu

The Rattata wasn't sticking around. It fled, seeking to hide in its den and lick its wounds.

The boy had had enough, and well shouted out, "I challenge you to a pokemon battle!!" He evidently didn't see the Rattata loosing to the Anorith. But the Poliwag had, and whimpered from behind her trainer.

ooc: Lady Myuu, you may RP out the battle with the NPC trainer which shouldn't be too hard :p

Scar, you can battle wild pokemon- aslong as you don't try to capture them without permission or run into a newbie trainer like yourself.

Evan and Totodile continued through the gently wafting grass on their way to the next big city, until without warning Evan stopped in his tracks. Totodile, who hadn't expected Evan to cease movement so abruptly, continued walking for a few moments before she noticed that her trainer was no longer beside her. The Water Pokemon came to a halt, turning around to face her trainer. He was currently standing on his guard, his dark brown eyes shifting to get a good look at his surroundings. He didn't at all look worried, just intrigued by something. It wasn't long before Totodile realized what was currently going on, as well; Evan had heard something, and thusly deduced that they were in the presence of another Wild Pokemon. However, it had taken Totodile a little longer to realize this because her sense of hearing had yet to completely develop.

Their assumptions were correct. Mere seconds after the duo had stopped walking, an unknown airborne Pokemon swooped down and struck Totodile with its beak! This caught her off guard, actually managing to knock her off her feet. Quickly she jumped back up, turning around to face her adversary. Evan also put his guard up, knowing very well that this enemy was actually capable of doing damage to them, unlike their first enemy.

“Spear!” The Pokemon’s voice rang through the air in a high pitched tone which sounded angered.

Evan quickly identified the noise as the cry of Spearow. He knew that particular species to be more aggressive than the majority of Pokemon he’d encounter on his way to the next city. Thusly, he’d hoped that Totodile would have a bit more experience by the time they encountered one. However, it couldn’t be helped, and Evan wasn’t one to run away from a fight, nor was Totodile. So they both stood their ground. Evan scanned his surroundings once more, catching sight of his opponent directly above him and Totodile. When he sighted it, however, the Bird Pokemon was already in the process of swooping in for another Peck Attack.

“Totodile, dive to the left!” Evan commanded. “Then follow it up with Scratch!”

Spearow flapped its small yet powerful wings, propelling it downward at a near-perfect forty-five degree angle. Just before it crashed into the ground it pulled up, speeding toward Totodile with its beak pointed outward. Evan’s Pokemon dove to the side and avoided the worst of the damage, although Spearow’s beak still managed to cut a small gash in Totodile’s arm. Crimson blood dripped from the wound, staining the soil below. Totodile cringed in pain, clutching her arm tightly to lessen the pain even the slightest bit. This momentarily stunned Totodile, and she was unable to deliver her own counterstrike. Spearow, meanwhile, was currently turning around in mid-air, hoping to go in for a third attack.

<Hmm…I guess I’ll need to come up with another strategy. > Evan thought as Spearow dove down, flying toward Totodile again. <Wait! I’ve got it! But I’ll have to time it just right… >

Just like last time, Spearow pointed its beak out and prepared to attack Totodile. Evan’s Pokemon just stood there, somewhat nervous. Blood was still falling from her injury one drop at a time, yet she was now able to ignore the somewhat minor pain searing through her arm. Though the situation was identical to the last time Totodile was attacked, this time around Evan had a plan. He waited for just the right moment to give his order.

“Totodile, use Scary Face!” Evan yelled.

Totodile looked somewhat confused, as she had never used Scary Face before. Although, it was one of the attacks she instinctively knew how to use. So, once it had completely registered what Evan had said, Totodile understood what she had to do. The infant Pokemon’s eyes grew wider, and she opened her massive jaws as wide as she could, showing her many sharp teeth. This sudden alteration in Totodile’s facial expression greatly surprised Spearow, slowing down its descent. Not significantly, but it was enough.

“Totodile, dive to the side once more! And this time follow it up with a Water Gun!” Evan ordered.

Totodile’s face returned to the innocent look Evan had become accustomed to, and she quickly leapt to the side, and this time she was fast enough to avoid Spearow’s Peck on account of the Bird Pokemon’s decreased speed. Totodile’s aerial foe whizzed right past her, giving her the opportunity to hit it with a Water Gun as Evan had instructed. Opening her jaws once more, Totodile fired a blast of water from her mouth. This hit Spearow directly, knocking it right out of the sky. Although weakened, it wasn’t finished yet. The bird flapped its wings harder still, however now they were soaking wet from Totodile’s Water Gun. This meant they were now heavier, thus hindering Spearow.

“Now, finish it off with a Scratch attack!” Evan immediately followed up his previous order.

Totodile dashed toward Spearow, who was now unable to move at sufficient speeds. She raised her claw into the air, trying to gain as much force as possible. When she reached Spearow, who was flapping its wings madly in a desperate attempt to head skyward, Totodile swiped the bird with her claw. The bird was knocked down to the ground, hitting the earth with a thud. Totodile then delivered a finishing blow to Spearow, knocking it out cold.

“Great! Your reaction time got much better from your first battle.” Evan commented, giving Totodile a quick thumbs-up. “Alright, let’s see…well, your injury isn’t that bad, but we should still cover it up so it doesn’t get infected or…something. Yeah.”

Evan took off his backpack, unzipping it quickly. After searching through his items and various other supplies, Evan pulled out some white bandages and knelt down to Totodile’s level. He held his Pokemon’s small arm in his hand and wrapped up her injury. He released Totodile’s arm, and the Water Pokemon looked at the bandages for a moment, apparently intrigued by them. She reached over and tried to peel them off, just to see what they were made of. Tilting her head to the side, Totodile raised one eyebrow at the mystery wrapped around her own arm. Evan merely sighed at this sight. However interested he may have been by Totodile’s naivety, he couldn’t allow it to slow the two down. So, it wasn’t long before they were on their way yet again.

Ooc: I hope you don't mind me having Totodile use Scary Face so early on, Yami Ryu. You did state that, as long as a Pokemon doesn't learn an Egg Move suddenly, it's basically okay. And I don't intend to have her use it often, only when neccessary.

ooc: I forgot to mention that I was allowed teh egg move sword dance in exchange for another move. So right now Anorith only knows scratch and sword dance.

This is how I was told the match would probably go, as the poliwag really has no clue how to battle... and Anorith jsut wants to eat.

~*~

Nyx paused a second in a bit of surprise, he watched the girly boy not noticing how his starter was making his way back over to his trainer, clicking his claws as Anorith was full of energy and had a built up momentum from the sword dance.

It wanted to sink its claws into something, it was hungry and ready to do something more then just chase rats. The baby pokemon was going on instict at the moment as it stopped beside his trainer and made an odd chirp noise.

Nyx smirked looking at his starter before looking back at the trainer.

"I accept." he said simply, "Anorith..."

While at this stage in life, Anorith really didn't understand much more then attacking what he was suppose too, he got food. So the pokemon crawled out infront of Nyx and waited for the orders, as he was growing hungry, the baby pokemon had to eat often as possible, it was a growing insectoid.

"Lets go poliw- Hey where did, arg!" The rookie trainer turned around, chased down his fleeing pokemon, grabbed the water pokemon and pushed it back into battle.

"Scratch." Nyx said, "And don't let up." he added.

The anorith was off, chasing after the now retreating water pokemon once more. The anorith wasn't quick, but then again neither was the poliwag. The trainer ordered his pokemon to use a bubble, well after he had to push it back into battle again.

"Wag!" the tagpole squeaked, quite confused as to what itw as suppose to do as it stayed a step ahead of the chasing bug. This lasted a good few minutes, as the poliwag didn't have a clue how to battle and just kept retreating. Anorith was growing more and more annoyed and hungry.

It finally just stopped, sitting in the middle between the two trainers, teh strange shrimp focused its mind, his claws snipping as he used another swords dance with out getting ordered too from Nyx. But Nyx knew this wasn't a big deal, it was a pathetic battle anyway.

The poliwag was taking its chance to gain its strength back, panting a little it squeaked weakly giving its trainer a look of 'help me.'

Before Anorith sprang forward like it had done to the ratatta and landed closer to the poliwag and bolted as fast as its small legs would go. The water pokemon bolted at once, this time to its trainer and attepted to leap into his arms but the trainer wouldn't allow it.

Anorith leaped once more out of pure hunger and anger onto the water pokmon and began to scratch at it, clipping its claws into the water pokemon's soft skin. The poliwag screeched and tried tobolt but the Anorith was a carnivore of the ocean floor, it knew by instincts how to latch onto its prey.

"Anor!' it cried and the poliwag eeked as the Anorith tried to bite into it, not the attack move 'bite' but more of a 'lets eat you' kind of bite. Nyx blinked surprised to see his pokemon attempting to eat the enemy. Seemed it had forgetten it was in a battle and went into hunting mode.

Of course this wasn't the most evolved pokemon, it was a preastoric creature and had the instincts of one, what was battle but another chance to get a meal?

"WAH! Don't eat him!" the trainer called looking at Nyx with surprise.

"Anorith, off!" Nyx called, when his pokemon didn't obey he looked at the trainer. "Call the match, I win."

A second passed, as the trainer ordered various attacks from his water pokemon, who was still being assulted with scratched and nips that were not of the battling verioty.

After a few more failed tries the rookie relented "FINE!" and was forced to return his pokemon. Nyx pulled out his own pokeball and returned Anorith.
He eyed the pokemon with an annoyed look, he didn't like being disobayed. He would have to train harder... and feed Anorith more often.

Turning Nyx began to walk off, he had won, it was time to move on.

Mordacai sighed and looked around. Perhaps the little thing was lost, perhaps the reason it was crying was because its owner had misplaced it, or it wandered too far from home.

He rubbed his temples, all the while Fern kept sniffing at the Togepi, a little subdued after her punishment.

Mordacai couldn’t see a soul from where he stood, his apprehension completely restricting him from picking the Pokemon up and taking it to the nearest house or person he could find. Even if the located person wasn’t the actual owner, he wouldn’t care, as long as he had a place to dump the thing and lift the responsibility from himself.

He scratched his head, subconsciously flattening it with the palms of his hands afterwards. Then it hit him.

Fern was a dog, right? Dogs had a decent sense of smell, right? He looked at Fern, had still placed on his head as he froze in the realization, which brought with it a sudden excitement to replace the hesitance beforehand.

“Hey, Fern,” he said, the excitement evident in his tone, to which Fern responded by commencing her tail-wagging; apparently conscious of when Mordacai was speaking to her, “You got the Togepi’s scent, right?” He asked, with a hint of uncertainty in his voice. As expected, Fern made no response, completely oblivious to what Mordacai was asking. He sighed.

“Errmm…” He murmered to himself, walking in circles as he searched for something, anything, to cause Fern to understand; now came the ‘training’ part.

He stopped suddenly, and gave a little cry of triumph as an idea struck him. He swung the bag from his back to the floor as Fern watched on in curiosity, unaware of her masters intentions, yet eager to discover them. Mordacai beckoned her over by tapping his legs with his hands, and she obeyed immediately, bounding over to him with anticipation bating each pant exhaled from her maw. Mordcai then pulled the leg of his trousers, and positioned it just in front of her nose, intending for her to get a decent whiff of his scent.

She sniffed it eagerly, and yapped up at her owner with expectance, tail still wagging madly. Mordacai chuckled, and then took his bag, and repeated the action. His objective was to teach Fern the basics of matching the scents of two different objects, a plan he strived to achieve by practicing with his own.

After he was confident that the scents had been registered, he threw his bag a few yards away from there location. At first, Fern instinctively made to chase it, but whirled back to her master’s position, concluding that his actions were far more interesting. Again, Mordacai took his trouser hem to her nose, insuring that she got the scent. He then pointed to the bag, flicking his hand, urging her in the direction. She caught on immediately with her dog-like instincts, and she instantly began trotting up to the bag, barking madly as she reached it, proud of her efforts.

Mordacai didn’t hesitate in rewarding her, and upon walking over, he took a plastic bag filled with little orange Pokemon treats from his backpack pocket, and fed one to her, which she devoured within seconds.

The process repeated a few times, and Mordacai gave her less and less indication each time he did the action, all the while keeping one eye on the Togepi. Before long, after about ten minutes, Mordacai was confident enough that Fern would have been able to repeat the process with the Togepi.

Beckoning her over, he knelt beside the Togepi and indicated the baby Pokemon as Fern approached, thrilled by the new game that Mordacai introduced. She began to sniff, observed by Mordacai as she did so, and she then sniffed the air. Mordacai watched in interest as she began to circle the bewildered Togepi, smelling the ground around her as she did. It didn’t take long, a scent was caught on her third round, and Fern, stumbling a little as she went, began to trot in a certain direction – certain of the scent she caught.

Mordacai’s chest swelled with pride, not only at his own actions, but also for Fern’s – this was his first taste of training out in the real world, and he seemed to be doing ok.

Without further hesitation, Mordacai lifted himself to his feet, and beckoned for the small, egg-like Pokemon to follow suit, in order to pursue Fern.

Hope thats ok. I struggled to fit what would be a long period of training into a suitable post, for fear of unneeded length that I'm sure you'd rather not read through entirely. I can only blame the haste on the powers of Pokemon, I hope thats a good enough excuse >.>.

Anyway, I was also hesitant to do much about the Togepi, as it appears it is owned, and like an NPC, I'm making way for you to control its actions. Do tell me if I've done something wrong, in any case >.<.

sorry guys, Bad Lads Army, Hex, Waterloo Road has stolen my attention- plus my newest fanfic.

Scar: Since you chose a move- well a move it could have learned up level wise, as it's egg move. You're stuck with Scary Face. Would have perfered to talk it out, clear any confusion or whatever like Myuu did when she poked me about it, but eh. Egg moves were really for moves unobtainable otherwise. Guess your Toto was just an average totodile.

The 'girly trainer' scuffed a foot over the ground in frustration. He had lost his very first pokemon battle against a trainer! And not to mention that, but said trainer had rubbed it in his face, and had almost allowed his Poliwag to be ate.

Steven, the 'girly boy' grumbled under his breath some more before blinking slightly, thinking he heard a sharp bird like cry. Glancing about, he became wary instantly before deciding quickly on one thing.

"Hey boy with the psycho bug!" Steven shouted out, bolting for the trainer that beat him. "You better protect me! I mean if spearow come to peck my eyes out, I will sue you!" He added, scrambling maddly after the seemingly cruel trainer.

When all that hopped out behind him was a Swablu looking very young, with a wide innocent expression on its face as it watched the strange walking thing run, before it disappeared in a few hops into the grass.

Tale

You're doing fine. But I would expect the trainer to be near, looking frantically for her Togepi. She can be anyway you want, and might be a trainer looking to battle, maybe? Or give advice perhaps? Or both? Whichever it's up to you.

Scar
Well since May was going to do something/meet up with you, throwing a side plot or something at you now would hinder not help.

Whitest Kid U'Know.
"Electrike! Stop! I can't run that fast!" Ruby panted. She was several yards behind her Pokemon, which turned out to be an extremely quick runner. She just noticed how hot the sun was now that she was running. "Wait!" She knew it wouldn't work, though, but it somehow made her feel as she could keep going, even though she thought she would faint like a Pokemon sometimes does, right then and there.

Where is he going? Ruby wondered. How is he not getting tired? The soft padding of Electrike's feet could be heard by Ruby, as far from it as she was. She tripped over a rock, as her Pokemon had previously, and fell straight to the ground.
"Oh...ow..." she mumbled to herself. "What a headache." Raising her head to see if Electrike was still running, she saw a Totodile attacking Electrike. It appeared to be using a Scratch, but Ruby had no way of knowing this, as her eyesight was blurry after falling in the dirt. Sitting up, she rubbed her eyes.

After that job was done, Ruby stood up and stomped over to the Totodile's Trainer.
"What do you think you're doing?" she yelled. "That's MY Electrike, not some wild Pokemon! Who do you think you are? A member of Team Rocket? Well, you're apparentely not, but still...You have no right to do this! I should just call Officer Jenny, and you would get a fine! Maybe even go to jail! What do you think about that?"
The Trainer shrugged. "Whatever," he said.
Ruby twitched. "Why--who are you?!"
"Evan," was his reply.
"Well, Evan, you need to go back to Trainer's School. I mean, who would even think of attacking a Trainer's Pokemon? Especially a girl's."

Electrike looked up and nodded. He apparently was proud of Ruby's words.

Hadouken!
"Whatever..." Evan said once more, letting out a deep sigh. "Listen, my friend, do what you want, but I've got better things to do than stick around here with some hormonal girl who has a superiority complex. C'mon, Totodile, let's get outta here. We've still got a lot of training to do, little buddy."

Evan turned around, not paying any mind to the now-furious girl standing before him. The boy then motioned for Totodile to follow him. The crocodile-like Pokemon followed her trainer's orders. Meanwhile, the female trainer's sparkling ruby eyes were locked in a seemingly perpetual glare, and arms were crossed out of shear frustration at the boy's nonchallant complexion. As well, her thin lips were turned downward in an angry scowl. This was apparently the first instance where someone had remained completely unphased as she wreaked her unholy barrage of anger upon them, or at the very least one of the first times. Her starter, the rather diminutive Electrike which Evan had mistaken for a Wild Pokemon, which to Evan looked to be an infant as well, looked up at her in confusion as she gradually grew angrier.

"Listen, I don't know where you get off calling me your friend, but you've got some real nerve to attack a girl's Pokemon!" The girl shouted out.

Evan just shook his head, smirking in a rather confident manner. He chuckled to himself, then casually turned around once more to face the girl. His dark brown eyes looked directly into her own glaring ruby ones without so much as twitching. His confident expression remained unaltered as he gazed into her eyes. As surprising as it was to the girl, he still didn't seem at all intimidated by her rage. He simply stood before her, staring strongly into her eyes without so much as flinching.

"Heh...first off...you amuse me. You really do. Just thought you should know that." Evan said. "Second, I really had no idea your Electrike was already owned by a trainer. But if it's an apology you're looking for, you're not getting one. It's your fault for letting Electrike get away from you...but since we're both new to this, I understand how you could let it happen. So don't worry 'bout it. Third, if you don't want anyone attacking your Pokemon, you're going to have a tough time getting someone to want to battle you."

"What the...?! That's not what I meant, you idiot!" The girl exclaimed.

"Well, you should be more specific, then, I guess." Evan shrugged, once again blowing off her insult without showing any signs of fear. "By the way, I don't think I caught your name."

"Ruby." The girl spat angrily.

Evan nodded once at this, continuing to smirk as he turned around to continue on his journey. He looked Totodile in the eye, as if to say 'time to go.' Totodile smiled in acknowledgement, signifying that the order was recieved and understood. Evan then turned his head slightly upward to look at the now-orangish sun still hanging above him. However, before returning to his long walk toward the next town, the duo paused.

"You know...it's too bad you're always scowling like that..." Evan said simply. "You're pretty cute, you know...but it's sorta unattractive when you're all furious. Just my opinion, though."

And with that, Evan casually lifted his arm above his shoulder to wave good-bye to the girl, his back still turned to her. He then began walking once more, Totodile still by his side.

Nyx continued on his way, ignoring the sounds of the boy attempting to threaten him into protecting him. There was no reason why Nyx should protect him, as it seemed that this boy was a pathetic trainer and deserved getting attacked by wild pokemon.

The trainer looked down at the pokeball in hand as he thought a little more. Deciding his pokemon was hungry and that it had won the battle, he released the little anorith and it instictivly turned right around and looked up at Nyx, snapping its small claws. Moving to the side a little it spotted the girly trainer at once and instently...

The anorith identified this trainer as food.

The shrimp creature took off towards the opponent as fast as its small legs would carry, this caught Nyx by surprise though it was hard to tell by the look on his face. This startled steven who probably took a few steps back as the strange pokemon came at him at full speed, which wasn't very fast.

Nyx reached into his bag quickly and pulled out a small bag, it crackled a little as he opened it, catching the anorith's attention. By now Steven had fled away and was attempting to hide behind Nyx. The rookie trainer dumped the food onto the ground and allowed the anorith to hover over the pallets as he ate.

Then Nyx turned and eyed the boy as he just remembered something, pushing him back (As Steven had attempted to climb him) he held out his hand as if expecting something. "I just recall, I won the match, you owe me money." Nyx replied calmly.

The Togepi wouldn’t budge, but merely gazed up at Mordacai with damp eyes and a trembling lip. Fern barked from behind him, apparently urging him to follow so that she could locate the scent and get her treat. He sighed.

Well if it was all in the name of good-will, surely he would have been allowed to carry the baby? He forcefully swept his worries aside as he thought this, and bent down to pick the Togepi from the ground, to which it responded with an ear-piercing screech.

Mordacai yelled in unison, and leapt from his skin in fear of the sudden noise, terrified at the Togepi’s disapproval of his actions. It was pure instinct that caused him to let go, nothing else, it really wasn’t his fault. But he did so nonetheless. He let go.

With a heart-wrenching thud, the fragile baby hit the grass with a cry of pain and panic – a feeling shared by Mordacai as he hopped on the spot out of sheer dread for the safety of the helpless creature. He’d done it now, he’d messed up completely.

The Togepi began to roll, feebly and helplessly along the grass, bawling all the while, completely oblivious to its location and terrified for its safety. Mordacai dropped to the ground, fumbling for the egg, praying for its wailing to cease so that he could be assured of its wellbeing. But it didn’t, and the creature only shrieked louder when he placed his hands upon its shell to steady it.

The noise resounded for miles around, or at least it felt like it did, and the intensity had caused Mordacai to become completely oblivious to Fern’s incessant yapping from meters behind him. It was only when the Togepi took a deep breath in order to wail some more that the barking was comprehended.

Panic-stricken, Mordacai leapt to his feet and whirled on the spot, grasping Fern’s Pokeball with the intention of returning her and ceasing her noise. But it appeared she was barking for a reason.

“Oh sh-” A fist connected with his face before he could even complete his unruly statement, and he was knocked from his feet instantly, slamming to the ground with a pained yelp.

The pain blinded him, and he writhed about on the ground, clasping his face as he did so, head swirling and spinning with bewilderment and frustration. His only form of comfort at that moment was the moist ground beneath him, the grass upon which he writhed.

Whoever hit him was burly, extremely burly, that much he gathered from the few seconds he glimpsed the man, and his punch was more than enough to cause bleeding. Fern’s barks had turned swiftly to snarls, and a viscous howl resounded through the area as she leapt for the hulking man, fangs bared.

He let out a yell of pain as her claws dug into his skin, followed by a searing burning that could only have been a close-range Ember attack. Instinct took over as Fern jumped from the man’s back, and he dropped to the floor, rolling in order to extinguish the flame that had ignited the back of his navy-blue shirt.

Mordacai now ceased his writhing, and observed from beneath his hands at the chaos that took place. All of it combined with the Togepi’s incessant bawling made the situation hell.

He took the little chance offered, and got to his feet, removing his hands from his face to reveal a rather serious nosebleed, which he ignored for the time being. The man also stopped rolling, and got to his own feet, his bald head glinting in the sunlight that beat down on them. He was immense, overweight and had a head smoother than the Togepi’s shell. He wore an attire of blue, a plain blue t-shirt, which was now charred black at the back, which lacked both decoration and style.

He was enraged. His eyes were wide with fury and the breaths that he heaved unnerved Mordacai no end. By now, Fern had taken her place by his side, snarling protectively yet pathetically in an attempt to intimidate the man.

Mordacai wasted no more time to protect himself from further danger,

“Look, man, I had no idea the Togepi was yours – I was just picking it up to return it to its rightful owner, that’s all. My Houndour here – ” But his explanation seemed to go unheard as the man snatched at a Pokeball from within his baggy blue trousers, his smooth, shiny face wrinkled and disfigured with rage. This was one protective owner – he kind of reminded Mordacai of some kind of guard dog.

Fern’s growls intensified at the sight of the ball, either that or the Togepi had decided to quiet down, and Mordacai knew instantly that a battle was to ensue, whether he liked it or not. His first taste of battle against a man ten times his size.

“Good luck, Fern,” he whispered nervously, as the dog crept forward so that she stood right in front of Mordacai. He couldn’t help but feel a pang of doubt at this battles ultimate outcome.

Without uttering a word, but instead a roar of anger, the man threw the Pokeball to the ground.

OOC: I got meself a battle, Ren. I hope everything here is okay with you. I left the bit at the end so that you could decide which Pokemon is to appear before Mordacai and Fern, as I'm sure I'm not allowed to make that decision >.>.
