The Kanto region is renowned for many things – lush forests hide themselves between mountains filled with dark caves with human cities settled relatively sparsely among them. From the historical and eerie Lavender Town to the technologically savvy Saffron City, Kanto boasts a wonderful location to both visit and reside, especially due to its close proximity to the neighbouring Johto region. However, most who decide to traverse Kanto do it for another reason entirely – to catch and train the wide variety of pokémon species that inhabit the land.

Though the legal age for starting this type of journey is ten years old, you’re a little beyond that now. Still, the lure of the region has entranced you for one reason or another, and after writing to the region’s pokémon expert – Professor Oak – you are visited by a pidgey with a letter strapped to his leg:

    ‘Dear applicant,

I have received and read your letter, and am pleased to provide some answers to your questions. Yes, it is true that most trainers begin at the minimum age of ten in the Kanto region. That being said, it is far from unheard of for a teenager such as yourself to start off as a beginner. I have full confidence that you will be able to catch up to your peers if you put in the time and dedication.

I would like to invite you to my laboratory to give you your pokémon license, pokédex, and starter pokémon. Along with bulbasaur, charmander, and squirtle, I do have a few other selections from my colleagues in other areas of the world. If you’ve already obtained your first pokémon through other means, then bring him or her along instead! Please find enclosed a map of the Kanto region, as well as directions on getting to Pallet Town.

You should also be aware that I’ve received a number of letters similar to yours, and have sent all applicants these same instructions. It is my hope that you will be able to travel together and work as a team to fill the pokédex – ah, but while you’re at it, take advantage of the travel time. The most popular endeavor chosen by young trainers is the Indigo League. As marked on the map, there are gyms in Pewter City, Cerulean City, Vermillion City, Celadon City, Saffron City, Fuchsia City, Cinnabar Island, and Viridian City. Defeat the leader to earn a badge as proof, and then take on the elite four at the Indigo Plateau once you’ve earned all eight! Or perhaps you’d like to take the coordinator’s route? There are contest halls located in Cerulean City, Vermillion City, Lavender Town, Celadon City, and Saffron City, and each holds one contest per day. This year’s championship is to be held in Viridian City, and you only need three ribbons out of five to attend!

I look forward to meeting you,

    Professor Oak’

The RP: You will start off as a teenager in Pallet Town (though you do not need to be from there originally, you will be there at the start of the RP). After meeting the other RPers and obtaining your starter pokémon, you will travel across the (probably) familiar path of the Kanto region. You have a number of options for paths to pursue, and the below are only a few suggestions:

Pokémon Trainer: Although anybody who raises pokémon is technically classified as a “trainer”, in this RP it will also refer to those who undergo the gym challenge. A pokémon trainer will typically only catch a small number of pokémon, as they concentrate more on priming a team of six for battle rather than catching as many pokémon as they can. Pokémon trainers can test their strength at the eight gyms located around the Kanto region, and then challenge the elite four once all eight gym leaders have been defeated and their respective badges obtained. Gym leaders specialize in one specific type of pokémon, but will often have multiple pokémon on hand and thus can be challenged by multiple trainers in the same day.

Pokémon Coordinator: Similar to a pokémon trainer, a coordinator will usually only keep a small team on hand to be carefully trained. Unlike a pokémon trainer, their focus is showing off a pokémon’s style and creativity with their movesets in pokémon contests. The first half of a contest does just that – pokémon are judged based on how well they can impress the judges and spectators. The second half of a contest is a battle against an opposing coordinator, though style is still the main factor and judges will determine the winner based on how well the trainer can balance style with battle. Contests are held daily, and only three out of five ribbons are needed to attend the annual Grand Festival.

Although the remaining classes may partake in gym battles or contests, they will do so casually (for fun!) and aren’t concerned with making it to the Indigo Plateau or the Grand Festival:

Pokémon Breeder: Breeders generally focus on the conformation and health of their pokémon above winning battles or competitions. Because of this, they can form very close bonds with their own pokémon and find it easy to befriend any pokémon. They are often well-versed on the needs of particular species.

Pokémon Collector: Collectors are concerned with completing the pokédex, which entails traveling the region looking for new species of pokemon. Unlike trainers and coordinators, collectors seek out a very wide variety of pokémon, and although they may not be as strong individually, they will aim to accumulate a large amount of pokémon (particularly rare ones). Collectors are often well-versed on the locations of rare pokémon and are good at spotting them.

Traveler: A traveler is really just along for the ride, and emphasizes new experiences over “training” or “work”! Travelers usually have a great sense of direction and prior knowledge of key landmarks on new cities and routes.

For the purposes of this RP you cannot be a Ranger as I think it’s just too different from what everybody else is doing, but other than that feel free to get creative. Legendary hunter? An aspiring gym leader that focuses on one specific type? Pokémon nurse in-training? Go for it!

    Kanto Region Map:

Can't find your bearings without labels? Here's an interactive map. Note that the wild pokémon listed there may not be accurate to the RP.

**The locations will have a wider variety of pokémon than their in-game counterparts. Each location will be posted both here and in the RP thread upon entering so you know what to expect. You can backtrack to old locations by yourself, but you must wait for the group to move onwards. I'm discounting any pokémon available by fishing until the rods are obtained.

Pallet Town: This small, quaint town was actually built fairly recently in comparison to the rest of Kanto. The main place of interest is Professor Oak's Laboratory, which is where new trainers can go to receive their starter pokémon, pokémon license, and pokédex.
    -> Wild Pokémon: None

Route 1: A simple country road that connects Pallet Town to Viridian City. A dirt path at one point marked the way through the entire route, but a lack of upkeep has allowed tall grass to grow over the path in several areas. This route isn’t very long, but it features a bit of an incline, making the journey to Viridian notably more difficult than the road to Pallet. There is a large flock of spearow that nest in a tree not far from the entrance to Viridian; new trainers are advised not to bother them as they can be highly aggressive if disturbed.

Accessible from: Pallet Town, Viridian City

    -> Wild Pokémon:

    VERY COMMON: Pidgey, Rattata
    COMMON: Hoothoot, Spinarak, Bunnelby, Starly
UNCOMMON: Spearow (HORDE), Poochyena, Flabébé (yellow & red flower)
RARE: Purrloin, Nincada, Flabébé (white, orange, & blue flower)
    VERY RARE: Shinx

Viridian City A beautiful locale that is filled with greenery year-round. The gym specializes in ground-type pokémon, but the gym leader is often absent for weeks or even months at a time; unfortunately, you’ve come at such a time, and thus the gym is temporarily closed. Other areas of interest include the local Pokémon Center, Poké Mart, and Pokémon Academy. The Academy provides free classes for newly-registered trainers on basic battle terminology and strategies. When not passed out on the streets, a local elderly man also enjoys teaching young trainers how to catch pokémon. Though he claims to simply require coffee in the mornings to stay awake, local rumours and common sense suggest he's actually a drunkard.

    -> Wild Pokémon: None

Route 22: This path leads to the Pokémon League Front Gate, which in turn leads to Victory Road – the true test for trainers who have collected all eight gym badges. Compared to the pokémon on Victory Road, the wild encounters on Route 22 are laughably weak. Two areas of thick grass and a small pond pose minor barriers in the way of the Pokémon League Front Gate, but newer trainers may enjoy it as a secluded training ground.

Accessible from: Viridian City, Pokémon League Front Gate / Route 23

    -> Wild Pokémon:

    Very Common: Nidoran♂, Nidoran♀
    Common: Rattata, Spearow, Mankey, Ledyba
    Uncommon: Bidoof, Poliwag
    Rare: Seedot, Kricketot
    Very Rare: Dunsparce

Route 2 (Bottom): A winding path that leads to Viridian Forest. The trees become gradually thicker as you approach the forest’s entrance. Diglett’s Cave is inaccessible due to the overgrowth of trees, though Viridian City is planning on cutting a path in the near future. Compared with Route 1, Route 2 is much flatter and has a well-defined path to guide travellers. The grass on this area is sparse, but pokémon still take refuge where they can find it.

Accessible from: Viridian City, Viridian Forest, Diglett’s Cave (blocked)

    -> Wild Pokémon:

    VERY COMMON: Pidgey, Rattata
    COMMON: Hoothoot, Spinarak, Bunnelby, Starly
UNCOMMON: Caterpie, Weedle, Panpour, Pansear, Pansage
    RARE: Nincada, Ledyba, Timburr
    VERY RARE: Plusle, Minun

Viridian Forest: A deep and spiraling woodland that has been described by many as a natural maze. The path, scarcely visible beneath the tall grass, winds itself among the trees, making it easy for newcomers to get lost. The trees in the area are so dense that very little light gets through, further complicating this forest’s navigation. Bug-type pokémon in particular thrive in the low light and shelter of the tree canopy. The forest is also well known for being one of very few places to find the popular pokémon pikachu, though they can be shy and difficult to spot among the foliage. Trainers are strongly cautioned to avoid the beedrill nest that makes its home in a single tree. This tree is easy to spot as it is the largest in the forest and covered in kakuna. Poison-heals are a recommended essential.

Accessible from: Route 2 (Bottom), Route 2 (Top)

    -> Wild Pokémon:

VERY COMMON: Caterpie, Weedle, Hoothoot, Spinarak
    COMMON: Kricketot, Wurmple, Scatterbug, Venipede
UNCOMMON: Shroomish, Murkrow, Sewaddle, Fletchling, Kakuna, Metapod
    RARE: Pichu, Pikachu
    VERY RARE: Beedrill [Swarm]

    1. No god-modding / no Mary Sues (no perfect/ invincible characters. You cannot dodge every hit or win every battle!)

    2. No powerplaying (“bunnying”) without permission, unless exceptionally minor in order to progress the RP. THIS MEANS NO AUTO-HITTING (do NOT harm another player’s character in your own post. It is up to the RPer themselves to decide 1. IF they are hit by an attack and 2. To what DEGREE the attack affected them)!

I will first gently remind you and then whine at you excessively and publically if you continue to break either of the two above rules. I have the right to ask you to leave the RP if it gets out of hand. Pls don’t do it.

    3. The character limit is ONE human per RPer. The amount of pokemon you can own is essentially limitless (only six can be with you at one time, of course), though you will either start off with one or zero (and be about to obtain your first).

    4. Sign-ups are limited and will close after the RP begins. PLEASE do not sign-up for this RP if you aren’t going to be active as you’re taking the slot away from another person.

    5. ^When I say “active”, I mean keeping up with the group, whatever that ends up being. I’m hoping for two to three posts per week with one at a minimum.

If your trainer catches a rattata and immediately boxes it, you do not have to create a sign-up for it until it is used for the first time. You can briefly list the pokemon your trainer owns but doesn’t use if you'd like to formally keep track. So don’t be scared of catching pokemon for the sake of it! Please keep everything to one post if at all possible, and just edit in each new pokemon caught.

    My character:

    Name: Miella Reeves
    Gender: Female
    Age: 16 (nearly 17)
    Trainer Class: Pokémon Researcher

Appearance: Miella stands at around 5'6" and has very dark hair that reaches just past her shoulders. Her hair has only a bit of volume to it, which gives it a slight natural curl, but she can generally get away with not doing anything to it and having it still look fine. Her eyes are light brown with only the slightest hint of green, though you would not be able to tell unless you looked very closely. She requires prescription glasses and is essentially blind without them. Her glasses are hardly anything out of the ordinary, having black and narrow frames. Her face has a few acne blemishes as is typical for her age, but she doesn't pay them any mind. She has a single piercing in each ear and usually just wears simple studs in them. She has a preference for wearing either black skirts or leggings (generally wearing the latter when walking long distances) with a more colourful, yet conservative, top. Red and blue are typical go-tos. She always carries with her a large brown purse that holds an impressive amount of supplies - she keeps it draped over her left shoulder when walking. It's far heavier than it looks considering it is bogged down with research books and materials, though Miella doesn't seem to struggle with it or even notice.

Personality: She is friendly, but not particularly outgoing. Miella can be a bit awkward around new people, though she is better once she gets to know somebody. Although she spends an inordinate amount of time on her research, she rarely mentions it in conversations and doesn't seem to realize what a huge chunk of her life it consumes. Considering she has her nose in a book or a notepad for much of the day, she can carry with her a studious demeanor, though again she seems oblivious to this fact. She is easily awed by the world around her, considering she has rarely left her hometown of Pallet. This is despite doing a massive amount of research to prepare for her journey and therefore knowing what pokemon are in each route. Miella has a huge fear of the dark. She is highly uncomfortable in areas such as caves and strongly dislikes being outside at night. It's very typical of her to try to persuade her traveling companions to bunk down if they're still traveling late in the day, otherwise she will get nervous and jumpy.

History: Miella was born and raised in Pallet Town. She has a little brother who is two years younger than her, but he started off on his journey when he was ten and she rarely sees him nowadays. Miella had the opportunity to begin her pokemon journey at the age of ten, but opted out to focus on school. She did a lot of studying on pokemon and how they adapt to their environments, and developed an almost obsessive interest in it. When she was fifteen, she was hired as an assistant to one of Professor Oak's assistants ("hey, we all start somewhere!"), and was eager to begin a full-time career as a researcher. After hearing that Professor Oak was rounding up a team of teenagers to help him complete the pokedex, Miella gladly volunteered to go along, hoping to further her own research and career by doing so.

    Pokemon On-Hand:

    Nickname: Tetra
    Species: Squirtle
    Gender: Female
Personality: Armed with something of a type A personality, Tetra is competitive and hard-working, but can also be bossy and impulsive. She doesn't get along well with pokemon who are unmotivated, nor those who try to overpower her authority, but she is otherwise quite friendly to like-minded pokemon and enjoys battling.
History: Received as a starter pokemon from Professor Oak.
    Other: N/A

    Nickname: Mercury
    Species: Nidoran
    Gender: Male
Personality: Quiet and stoic, Mercury rarely shows approval or enthusiasm at anything. He listens well in battle and will take commands from other trainers if Miella is not present.
History: Miella captured Mercury accidentally on Route 22 attempting to stop him from attacking Tetra.
    Other: N/A

    Nickname: Pico
    Species: Scatterbug
    Gender: Male
Personality: Pico is friendly and bubbly to everybody regardless of their appearance/ species and regardless of whether they like him or completely hate him. Seems a bit unaware of his own powers and occasionally fires off an attack toward a friend without releasing; this trait tends to send Miella into a frantic state of apologizing and scolding, though Pico barely seems to understand and likes to show off for fun. Despite his naive nature, he is surprisingly focused in battle, though no less bubbly. He dodges attacks better than he lands them.
History: Miella accidentally captured Pico in Viridian Forest after Tetra mistook him for Blue and gave chase through the trees.
    Other: N/A [Vivillon Form TBA]

Guess who's back! Back again! Andre's back! Tell a friend!

    Name: Andre Bellamy
    Age: 18
    Gender: Male
Trainer Class: Movie Star/Rich Boy/Fairy Tale Man (He doesn't have much of a goal besides travelling, and training Fairy types. He may challenge a Gym and/or do a Contest for fun, but he's not aiming to become Champion/Top Coordinator.)

Appearance: Andre is a tall young man, standing at exactly six feet. Although he doesn't like to do so, he excersises a little bit so that he doesn't look like a fat slob, and is physically fit and toned as a result. He doesn't spend too much time in the sun, claiming it is bad for your skin, and so he has a fair complexion. He keeps his blond hair short, and neatly styled at all times. There is never a hair out of place. He has a round boyish face, a small nose, and large baby blue, almond shaped eyes, which he claims are his best feature. His mouth is usually in some kind of smile. Except for his hair and eyebrows, he has no hair on his upper body. He's also pierced his earlobes so he can wear earrings.

Andre is very much into fashion. He likes expensive designer clothing, and he usually dresses more formally than most people his age. Being famous, he has a certain reputation to uphold, so he makes sure to look his best wherever he goes. His fancy wardrobe mostly consists of button down dress shirts, vests, trousers, and dress shoes. He even wears a tie and blazer often. He always keeps his clothes neat and tidy. It is rare to see him in a simple T-shirt and jeans. His wardrobe contains a lot of different colors, but pink is by far his favorite. He will usually have at least one pink thing on him, if not more. His current outfit consists of a frilly pink dress shirt that fits him well. In place of a tie, he wears an elaborate necklace made from rubies. On top of that he wears a burgundy trenchcoat, with a pink rose pinned to the lapel. He also wears a pair of diamond cuff bracelets around both wrists, and a diamond ring on his right ring finger. On the bottom he wears burgundy trousers held up by a black leather belt with a gold buckle. His choice of footwear include a pair of black dress shoes with pink spats on them. He accesorizes this with his signature pink beret on his head, and a pair of diamond stud earrings decorating his ears. He carries around a pink heart shaped messenger bag that has a red ribbon tied into a bow attached to it, and he wears a pair of pink cat's-eye sunglasses, with diamond studded rims.

Andre has developed a taste for diamonds and gemstones. He will occasionally be seen wearing random pieces of jewelry every now and then, regardless of whether it was intended for a man or not. He enjoys experimenting with fashion, and likes trying out many different things, including wearing women's clothing, wigs, and sometimes make-up. He feels women get nicer clothes than men do, and it lets him get away with wearing more jewelry than a man can. He can pass for a convincing woman when he's all made up. He often wears lavender scented perfume.

Personality: First off, Andre has tastes that are usually considered femmine. His favorite color is pink, and a lot of his things are pink and have hearts on them. He likes fashion, and he has a taste for cute things, and he's not really emabrrased by it. He really doesn't understand why boys in this country have an issue with guys liking that kind of thing. He just guesses it's because they're insecure about their masculinity. Andre is very obsessed with beauty and looking good. As a movie star, he feels he has to maintain a certain image, and because people don't want to be friends with an ugly person. He always makes sure he is perfectly groomed before leaving the house, and as such it takes him a while to get ready in the morning. Because he puts so much effort into looking good, he hates getting dirty, as it ruins all the work he put in.

He really values his relationships. He goes to great lengths to make friends and fans everywhere he goes. He often attends parties to meet new people. Someone not wanting to be his friend upsets him, and he will try to make that person his friend whether they want to be or not. For the same reason, he also likes love and romance, and as such he comes across as a flirt. He openly hits on people (he's openly bisexual, so guys as well as girls) he considers to be attractive, though he is usually more polite about it then most guys, because he is genuinely looking for a relationship. He also likes pairing people up who he thinks would make a good couple, regardless of gender and orientation, and jokingly teasing the two involved.

He can be charming and manipulative when he wants to be. He uses his charm, charisma, and the occasional bribe to get what he wants from people. He knows just what to say to win people over, which sometimes helps him get his way in many situations. While he is polite and well-mannered, and typically acts friendly towards others, he treats people like objects to make himself feel better. He can be self-centered, and disregards how other people feel and what they need if it's not benefiting him somehow. It's not something he does consciously, it's just how he is. He was brought up believing that people's affections can be bought, and it's worked out for him so far.

Having become used to being given whatever he wants, Andre has been spoiled by wealth. He has an appreciation for the finer things in life. He wears expensive clothes, drives around in fancy cars, takes exotic vacations, and freely spends money like it grows on trees. He is very generous with his money, since he has so much of it, trading a a few dollars for something better is no problem. He's also found it much easier to woo people with money. He especially enjoys being famous, and being adored by many. He doesn't mind the the craziness that comes with being a cleberty either. Bad publicity is still publicity, as long as people are talking about you, then that's all that matters. Andre has always been accustomed to life on top. His worst fear is losing it all, whether that be ruining his movie career, or losing his hard earned friends.

He speaks with a noticeable Kalosian accent, and uses French words a lot. However, he can speak Englsh just fine.

History: Born in Lumoise City, Kalos, Andre's childhood is not what one would consider normal. His parents are both famous actors, and since his birth he's been in the lap of luxury. Due to his parents being famous actors, and therefore often busy, Andre rarely ever saw them. He was also homeschooled for a while, and was rarely able to leave the house. He felt lonely being in a big empty mansion with only caretakers that were too busy to keep the kid entertained. Andre's parents brought him expensive toys to make it up to him. For a while the shiny new toy would make him feel less lonely, but soon he would get bored of it, and the loneliness came back. He thought something better would solve the problem. When his parents announced a new trip, the young boy cried, and of course, his parents brought him a new, better, more expensive gift once they got back. The same thing happened, it would make him feel good for a while, but soon he'd get bored again. He would continue to ask and receive more and more expensive things throughout his childhood. It was great, and Andre grew accustomed to wealth and having anything he wanted on a whim. It was nice, but it still wasn't enough, the bad feelings still didn't go away.

Andre recieved his first Pokemon from his parents. An adorable Cleffa he named Jolie. He bonded with this Cleffa quickly. Jolie is the only gift his parents gave him that Andre hasn't grown tired of. She is the closest friend Andre has ever had, and ever since meeting her, he had decided that he would catch and train Fairy types exclusively.

At some point, his parents thought it was a good idea for him to start interacting with other kids, so they enrolled him in a private school. When Ande started going to school, and meeting other people his age, he got a lot of attention from them due to the fancy toys he had that they couldn't afford. At Recess, every kid wanted to play with him. Being with others made him feel just as good, if not better, than opening up a brand new toy. It was then he thought that if new toys won't help, then maybe people will. He made lots and lots of friends, and Andre was happy for a while. Soon his family had to move away, and Andre was transferred to a new school. Having lost all the friends he made, Andre was upset for a while, but he soon worked to make new friends in this new place, and he was happy again. Then his parents moved once more, and the cycle continued. He was never truly content though, because he always had to leave all his friends behind.

At the age of thirteen, Andre's family moved to Virbank City, to further their careers. There, his parents encouraged their son to follow in their footsteps, and become an Actor. They put him in acting classes, and used their connections to pull a few strings, and get him and his Cleffa a starring role in a major film. He didn't want to do this at first, but did it anyway to please his parents. While making the movie, he came to enjoy being on a movie set, and acting. When his first movie went to theaters, and became a box-office success, he enjoyed all the fame and attention it brought him. Or more specifically, he liked all the adoring fans. He also enjoyed the piles of money, expensive things, and all the glamour that being a movie star brings. He decided to pursue a film career, while also attending school when he wasn't filming. After doing that for a few years, he became as famous and successful as his parents. He is often chased by Papparazzi and crazed fans, and he is also often the subject of ridiculous rumors in gossip magazines. Usually, they involve him spending absurd amounts of money on something lavish, being seen at a party, or romance rumors with various other celeberties. (Not long after hitting puberty, he discovered how attractive people were, and the joys of love. Although he's never had a serious romantic relationship, much to his disappointment.) He doesn't mind all the craziness that much. As long as he has all his adoring fans, then all is well.

Andre has everything now, devoted fans, a luxurious life, and piles of money at his disposal. Despite this, he still isn't satisfied. He feels like something is missing, but he isn't sure what that is. He decided to take a break from making movies for a while to try the Pokemon trainer thing he never had a chance to do. He decided to travel to the Kanto Region, since he hadn't really been there before, to try his luck in a new place.

    Name: Jolie
    Species: Cleffa
    Gender: Female

Personality: She is very much like Andre in a number of ways. She has starred in several movies with her trainer, and is also a celebrity herself. She likes being the center of attention. When no one is paying attention to her, she will do something cute, to get noticed. In general, she likes to dress up, and she enjoys using her cute looks to get what she wants. Aside from that, she is a friendly and playful Pokemon, who really loves how much her trainer spoils her rotten.
History: Andre always wanted a sibling, but much to his disappointment, does not have one. When he was younger, he asked his parents to get him one. In response, they laughed and said they would work on it. Shortly after that, they brought him Jolie, and the subject was quickly dropped.
Other: She wears a large red bow on top of her head, and a diamond studded collar around her neck. Occasionally, Andre will dress her up in clothes made for her. Otherwise, she looks like any other Cleffa.

    Nickname: Rose
    Species: Flabébé

Looks like there's a whole lot of researchers in this RP.

    Name: Joseph Hildebrand
    Gender: Male
    Age: 18
Trainer Class: Pokemon Botanist (Essentially he is all about researching grass pokemon and pokemon with plant like biology)/ Aspiring Grass Gym Leader
Appearance: Joseph is a short, very short. While he will never ever really give out his height, he doesn't even manage to reach 5' 5". What he lacks in height, Joseph makes up in bulk. A combination of fat and muscle he is sometimes affectionately referred to as being built like a brick craphouse. His blonde hair is long, generally kept in a pony tail though he will keep it in a bun if it annoys him at any point. The best way to describe his face is square, his eyes are a little too far apart and his nose is long and hookish.

His sense of style, well it really isn't there. Joseph doesn't care about clothing, after all its only just going to get dirty when he's doing stuff in the dirt. So the clothing he likes to wear is stuff like work shirts and work pants, clothing made of nice and durable material. As long as it doesn't have too many holes in it, Joseph will wear it.

Personality: Joseph is a no nonsense type of guy, and he isn't afraid to say so. He doesn't like to flaff about, instead he just does what he is meant to, a result of the years he worked on his family farm. With a strong hard work ethic, he tends to find that he can't stand to be around anyone who is lazy in anyways, which has sort of made him a bit of a loner. All that being said, he can be a very pleasant person, who does like to make sure that other people are having a good time... as long as they fall within his strict guidelines for being worth his attention, of course.

Joseph doesn't like to waste time doing anything, preferring to being punctual and on time. There is only one exception to his rule, that is when Joseph is dealing with his plants, whether they be pokemon or actual plants. He could waste days upon days playing around with them, studying them and trying to figure out what makes them tick. Joseph will probably never admit it, but he is sort of obsessed with grass types and can talk for days about them if he had the chance.

History: Joseph grew up on a farm in Johto, close to Goldenrod City. The farm primarily dealt with Mareep and Miltank, Joseph working hard shearing and milking the pokemon. However, when he was ten his parents decided to try something different and imported some Gogoats from Kalos as well as several Skiddo. Joseph was tasked with looking after the Skiddo, and the time he spent raising them planted the seed that would blossom into his love of grass pokemon. Interested in the grass types, he started to read published research about the different types of grass pokemon, eventually moving on to reading about botany in general.

Joseph was able to commandeer part of his family's farm to turn into a flowerbed. There was where he truly did realise what his dream was. He wanted to be a botanist, but specifically a grass pokemon botanist. When Joseph got the letter from Professor Oak, he was delighted to be able to go Kanto. After all there were grass types over there that he had never seen before, plus maybe he could visit the Celadon Gym. Armed only with his 'research' journal, Joseph was ready to start his new adventure in Kanto.

History: Gotten as a starter from Oak.
    Other: N/A

    Nickname: Talon
    Species: Pidgey

    Name: Zachary "Zach" Lascelles
    Gender: Male
    Age: 18
Trainer Class: Pokemon Trainer. Dark-type enthusiast

Appearance: Zachary is a tall and elegant young man, though he appear taller at times due to his posture. He have a slim figure, despite being fairly fit in general, due to him working out quite a lot in order to look his best. His skin is fair, and is mostly pale with a slight tan, as he doesn't get that lovely Miami-Tan when outside, but rather the color of a grumpy Darmanitan due to being pretty sensitive to sunlight. His eyes are calm and collected, and shows little to no sign of emotion in their icy blue color. He has medium long, dark brown hair, which he keeps in a fashionable style at all times. His eyebrows are curved in a way that gives Zach a flirty and serious look on his face at most times. Many people would consider Zach t be very pretty, and he is well aware of that.

Growing up in one of the more fashionable cities in Kalos, Zach has developed a good taste in fine clothing. He has a special discount in all the boutiques there, and he uses it well. His style consists of mostly elegant designer clothing in dark colors. His regular outfit consists of a long-sleeved lavender-colored shirt which he keeps unbuttoned at top which reveals his chest and necklace, and a pair of slim, dark blue designer jeans. He also wear a pair of matching black formal shoes. His overall outfits are anonymous and elegant, as he gets to try out the newest of the newest fashions in Kalos. He also wear jewlery like rings and bracelets etc. He has a simple black leather bracelet and a silver ring on his right hand, as well as a couple of earrings. He Also has a matching silver necklace with a Key Stone charm.

Personality: It isn't that difficult to determine what kind of character Zach is. Being the son of two rich parents does have a somewhat effect on your character. Zach have been nurtured and spoiled during his entire childhood, though his parents were strict in letting him know that nothing is free, and that you have to work for it. He is a suprisingly reasonable person that takes nothing for granted. He enjoys the finer things in life, and is not satisfied unless he gets the best of the best quality. He's a little full of himself, and have a habit of letting everyone know when he enters a building. He enjoys being the center of attention, though he doesn't crave it. He's a social butterfly that can almost always be found at the hottest parties with the hottest celebrities in the hottest cities in the hottest regions. More or less everyone knows who he is, and he enjoys taking advantage of that. In social settings, he's a flirty individual that can talk his way into anyones arms. He's not that into relationships though, and usually just enjoy the chase. Despite being an intelligent guy, Zach often acts dumb around others, just for fun. The fun part comes when they believe he is just a dumb blonde, and he proves them wrong by showing off his intellect.

Zach is a fan of everything black and dark, not evident by his appearance, as he usually keeps it to himself. He enjoys the dark and often take strolls at night if he's not at the latest party. This applies o dark colors, gothic clothing etc. He also have a more matching aspect to his persona to reflect this. He has a generally cold attitude towards most things, and he does have a dark sense of humor. He may also crack an inapproperiate joke at times. He's the kind of guy that would ominously laugh for himself if someone trips, gets a flower pot in their head from above, or if anyone falls down the stairs. Zach also have a habit of being a little too ironic and cynical at times, mostly when people annoy him. . Despite having it all, Zach has a rather grim outlook on life for reasons unknown, even to him. He is also known to have a rather short temper at times, snapping at people with no warning if they do something not acceptable (by his standards). Despite being an overall creepy character, Zach is a pretty nice guy once you get to know him. He cares deeply for his friends and Pokemon, and is a very reliable character.

He speaks in a kalosian accent, though he doesn't overdo it.

History: Zachary was born in the finer parts of Kalos, more spesific in Lumiose City. His childhood can be described as simple as simple get, as he had everything he ever wanted handed to him and more. His mother was a famous News reporter, and his father the owner of the most ritzy restaurant in all of Kalos. Zach has been in the spotlight most of his life, though he had a tendency to keep to the background most of the time. Since his parents were sucessful worksmen rather than something ritzy as movie stars etc. They were rarely ever bothered ith the paparazzi, who Zachs mother did well in avoiding. His parents did work a lot though, and Zach often ended up in the care of the housekeepers. He was initially homeschooled, but he wanted to go to a public school, which his parents eventually allowed. It went pretty smoothly, no one really recognized a young kid by his parents, at least not children themselves.

It wasn't until he turned 14 that he started to make a name for himself. He had been scouted by a modeling agent when out in Lumiose City with his mother, and was asked if he had ever wanted to try modeling. Not really sure what to expect, Zach agreed to try it out, to his mothers displease. He ended up loving it, and scored a contract with one of the biggest agencies in Kalos, thus starting his career.

Several years later, when Zachary Lascelles was one of the hottest name in the fashion industry, Zach seemed to have it all. His parents were proud of him, of course, but there was still something that Zach felt was missing. At first he thought it might be the "real love" clichè, but he quickly discovered that wasn't it. To him, it seemed that what he lacked was a real friend. A true friend, as most of his associates only leeched off on your fame and ditched you eventually anyway. It wasn't until he was doing a job in the new boutique opened in Anistar City, in which he would display a winter collection during a shoot in the snowy route 17, that he met Sneasel. during the shoot, the Pokemon jumped up behind Zach in one of the photos in a comical fashion. It appeared to have taken a liking to Zach, for some reason, and it made it obvious it wanted to tag along him. Not really being customed with Pokemon battles, it battled the Arcanine belonging to one of the producers, where it showed off both its strength and speed. eventually being weakened enough, Zach caught him in a Luxury Ball. This would prove to be what was lacking in his life, and Sneasel became his one and only true friend.

Ignited with a new spark, Zach decided he would go on a Pokemon journey like he hadn't done earlier with Sneasel, in order to learn more about Pokemon, as well as meeting new friends and allies. And of course to see new places, new fashions and all that.

    Nickname: Faust
    Species: Sneasel
    Gender: Male
Personality: Faust is a cheerful Pokemon that always has a mischievous smile on his face. He likes to battle, and is proud of his strength and speed, to the point where he gets depressed and sad if he lose.
History: Zach met Faust during a photoshoot at route 17. At first, the pokemon seemed to want to play, but eventually it challenged Zach to a battle.. kinda, and he caught it.

    Nickname: Tira
    Species: Spinarak
    Gender: Female
Personality: Tira is a playful Pokemon that is usually in a good mood. She doesn't enjoy battles, and is quite unexperienced, despite her strength. She also have manipulative tendencies, and finds joy in toying with other Pokemon and their feelings.
History: Tira walked up to Zachs face after he was resting from running from a horde of Spearows. The two of them befriended before he caught her before the group came to Viridian City.
Other: Tira is young, and knows the Egg Move, Night Slash.

    Nickname: Robin
    Species: Murkrow
    Gender: Male
Personality: Robin is a Pokemon that radiates a somewhat spooky aura. It doesn't usually do much, and doesn't really say much, but would rather sit on Zacks head, staring at you with a judgemental glare. It is a strong battler, and sometimes taunt opponents during battles if he has the upper hand. It is a generally loving Pokemon towards Zack, allthough it doesn't really go too well with other people or Pokemon. It is also somewhat of a Kleptomaniac, being attracted to shiny objects, which it will steal.
History: Robin was met immideatly after Zack arrived in Viridian Forest. The Darkness-Pokemon swooped down to steal his Key Stone, which it took up to a hidden location in the treetops. Faust was able to defeat the bird and retrieve the stone, and Zack later captured him.

    Nickname: Jace
    Species: Ralts
    Gender: Male
Personality: Jace is a Brave Pokemon that always stand up for the ones he care about. He values friendship deeply, and show respect to those who deem worthy of it. He also somewhat adopted Zacks appriciation of beauty after being caught, due to his synchronise-Ability. He is proud, never backing down from a battle even if all the odds are against him. Truly an inspirational Pokemon! A pokemon worthy of its name!
History: Zack didn't see the two Ralts initially, but was dragged unto the scene by Andre. When seeing the bravery Jace showed when protecting his friend, something just clicked in Zack, and he knew he had seen the most beautiful scene he would ever experience. after a brief battle, that touched Zack deeply (And somewhat freamed Faust out), he caught the brave little solider.
Other: Jace is a Shiny, and knows the move Confuse Ray.

    Reserve me a spot, please!

Also damn you, Mon. You make me wanna reuse Sigur now 8P But I already have him in one Kanto trainer rp.

EDIT: Actually, I've got dis, I know who to reuse. The rp for this guy never started, so here's to a second chance.

    Name: Cedric Dupont
    Age: 18
    Gender: Male
    Trainer Class: Pokémon Trainer

(His left foot is the injured one, so the cane should actually be in his left hand. But Tektek's left hand canes were cut in half with non-standard feet 8I I should just draw him later.)

Cedric stands at a relatively average 5'9, although he loses a few inches due to his injured foot and the slight hunch it brings. He's somewhat tanned, although he has grown paler lately due to not spending much time outside in the past few years - something that's likely to change soon enough once he sets out. His facial features are sharp and angular, giving him a somewhat sly look that is further accentuated by his piercing blue eyes and the constant smirk found on his face. He always carries himself with confidence and pride, and gives off an aura of a cocky jackass looking for trouble most of the time.

He's fairly muscular and it shows to an extent even through his clothes; after all, the guy's spent most of his childhood either in the not-Pokémon-related gym or otherwise practicing for his dream of becoming the best mixed martial artists out there. He hasn't trained as much as he used to ever since the incident for certain reasons and that has definitely left its mark, especially in his legs. Speaking of which, his left leg was badly injured a few years back and while it has recovered enough to allow him to move around without his wheelchair, he still needs a cane to walk properly - and likely will for a long time. There's large scar running along his thigh to his shin from the bite, along with smaller surgery scars. He doesn't particularly feel ashamed over any of it, but at the same time he isn't likely to show them off. Which, you know, considering his personality, is rather rare and means he's actually taking the whole thing seriously.

His hair is naturally brown, but according to him brown is "too damn boring", so he never lets it remain in its natural color for long. At the moment his hair is orange, a color he feels represents energy and passion - and by extension, himself. Just don't be surprised if you one day find him sprouting a different color; he gets bored of things fast. He always prefers warm colors to cold ones however, and he absolutely loathes blues of all kinds - call it a weird extension of his fear of water. These preferences show in the way he dresses; he often dons reds, oranges, browns and jut because he considers it cool, blacks. At the moment, he wears a red t-shirt underneath a dark brown jacket with a fake-fur collar, complete with black, somewhat loose jeans (as he hats skintight clothes with a passion) and simple black shoes that won't stay tidy for long, knowing him. His right ear is pierced and he has red straps wrapped around his wrists to bring him more color. Finally, he has a bag wrapped around his waist, decorated with small skulls, zippers and whatever pins he felt like attaching to it at the moment. The cane he carries is dark and often decorated with belts or the like.

Personality: Flirty, hotheaded and stubborn as all hell, Cedric comes equipped with a needlessly loud voice and an admitted attitude problem. He's boisterous, he's impatient, and if you ever point any of those flaws out to him, he'll likely thank you for the compliment. This guy loves attention and he absolutely needs things to happen wherever he goes. If nothing's going on, he'll cause ruckus or stick his nose in other people's business - anything to get things moving. He has what people call "a good - but extremely short - memory"; if things don't happen right after they've been discussed, he's liable to just forget and move on, so don't count on him to be on top of any long-time commitments he might have agreed to. He can turn a cold shoulder to things that don't interest him and be very distant and cold to people who he thinks are wasting his time or weighing him down. At the same time however, if he's genuinely interested in something or someone, he'll go through mountains for them. Passionate and extremely diligent when the situation calls for it, this is the guy who meticulously spent time lifting weights every day, even at the 'high cost' of having to party less as a teen, just to reach a goal that mattered to him; he'll do it again if needed. That isn't to say, of course, that he wouldn't always find some time for fun as well. Priorities; he can lose a few hours of sleep or skip a meal if that's what it takes. No big deal. He's weird like that, a curious mix of a disciplined martial artist working hard for his dream and a laid back skirt-chaser who lives life on his own pace and doesn't fret over the small stuff. Does the combination work? Well, not really - it leaves him unpredictable and unreliable, the kind of guy you wouldn't leave to watch after your children because you aren't sure if your kids have to end up watching after him.

But wait, it gets worse. Cedric is also competitive, and while he will never retort to physical violence unless the other party initiates it (call it a moral code of sorts, a small memento from his days as a martial artist), he will engage in arguments pretty easily if he feels someone's attacked his pride or challenged him to a battle of wits. Sure, he'd prefer a Pokémon battle, but no harm done in little banter either, right? Right. Oh, and speaking of which - he's always right. You aren't. He's not exactly a follower, and will cause trouble if he perceives someone trying to take control of a situation he believes he could handle himself. And in the highly likely scenario that he's actually proven wrong or ends up making a mistake, he'll burp out so many excuses that you won't even know which way's which once he's done. Complaints or attempt to educate him will go in through one ear and out the other, and in most case he'll just handwave warnings. See, he has this nasty habit of not taking things seriously when he should - and then taking them seriously when he shouldn't. Battles are serious business and a matter of pride, for one. As such, they have to be fought fairly and for the right reasons. Yeah, Pokémon are fun to bully from time to time and their main purpose is to fight, but that doesn't excuse mistreating them on purpose. The exact same goes for humans, actually; while Cedric can come across as somewhat mean at times due to making fun of his peers, he doesn't mean anything bad by it and isn't looking to really offend anyone.

So, see, there are good qualities to him too. Are there any more of those? Of course there are, they're just very effectively buried underneath all the not-so-good traits. But they're there! For one, he's not violent. He loves Pokémon battles and arm wrestling and will definitely indulge you if you wish to partake in either, but he will never use his strength to actually hurt someone. Also, for all his cocky talk and recklessness, he is actually fairly perceptive and learns fast from mistakes. Because yes, when he makes a mistake, he does actually recognize it and think of ways to never repeat it - he just does it all in the confines of his mind so as to not lose face. Appearances matter to him, and he wants to look cool, self-confident and like he's always in control of any given situation. People have worried over him for far too long. He's tired of it. He can take care of himself, and what better way to prove it than to be arrogant and not let people feel considerate for you? He's actually far deeper a person than people give him credit for. His smartass comments are often thought through rather than something he's able to produce on a whim, and he is capable of weighing his options before acting - he just often chooses not to. Before anything else though, he's ambitious. He wants to succeed, and he wants the praise that it will undoubtedly bring. Acceptance despite everything. That'd be cool. And for that purpose, Cedric's always looking upward towards the sky, no matter how many times he's knocked down - and he's willing to spread that way of thinking to others who might teeter on the verge of giving up. After all, he's been there and he's done that; seeing others in that same, hopeless state of mind pisses him off. That's why he's helping, okay?

Lastly, it should be mentioned that Cedric has a serious fear of water. Or, rather, large bodies of water big enough for him to possibly drown in. He's also queasy around big water type Pokémon, and Gyarados are the absolute worst things he can imagine. That's partly why he's taken such a liking to electric types; they fend off the water Pokémon he dislikes. He also can't swim to save his life.

History: Being born as the son of a previous Pokémon League Champion wasn't as amazing as it sounded; with a Champion for a mother and an otherwise accomplished trainer for a father, Cedric was the center of expectations and rumours from a very early age, especially among family friends and gossiping locals. Would he become a Gym Leader or an Elite Four member like many of his relatives overseas? A Champion like his mother, perhaps? Surely he would grow to be something remarkable; it was in his blood, after all! Cedric was always an ambitious kid, so it wasn't the expectations themselves that really bothered him, but the fact that his passion wasn't directed towards Pokémon. Sure, he did enjoy the company of Pokémon and did play and train with them over at the local Pokémon Gym like the rest of the kids his age, but that was pretty much it. It was fun, yes, but he never considered it anything more than a silly little hobby to pass time for him. It was childish. Besides, he already had a dream to chase after; he wanted to become the world champion of mixed martial arts. He wanted to be the absolute strongest man out there, like the people you saw on TVs, taking on Machoke on their own. Yeah, I know; "how weird a dream to have in a world filled with so many opportunities for careers related to Pokémon!" That was exactly what his neighbours thought too, even if they tried to keep the whispers from reaching his ears the best they could. They weren't vile, after all; just disappointed and baffled. His parents were much the same; disappointed and somewhat sad, but nevertheless approving. It was their son's life, after all. If he wanted a career unrelated to Pokémon, that was up to him.

However, with Cedric and the rest of his family having completely different areas of interest, they naturally did grow a bit further apart with each passing year. His cousins and parents had to attend various battling-related events held around the region (and sometimes even overseas), with Cedric opting to stay behind whenever he could. Naturally, he had a babysitter back when he was too young and reckless to be left home alone; a nice young girl from their neighbourhood who didn't mind helping out and was in some need of extra cash. She was kind but knew how to be strict when needed, and considering how often the young boy was left alone with her, Cedric eventually started to seek approval from her instead of his parents - especially as he reached adolescence and started to view his young nanny in a completely new light. He developed a crush on her, but seeing how she was close to twenty and he was nowhere near of age, it never went anywhere. It didn't stop him from trying, of course, and overtime, as he became a teenager, his want to be noticed spread to all members of the opposite sex. It wasn't helped by the fact that he was somewhat popular as well, and the attention he received from girls served to boost his confidence in what he did. Who needed the approval of his family anyway, when he had this many pretties to cheer on for him, huh?

Still, although fooling around was fun and all, Cedric always focused most of his time and attention on keeping himself in shape and practicing for his dream. Well, that was, until a certain accident out in the sea took place. It was a stupid idea to begin with; a group of half-drunk teenagers playing around in the harbour, daring each other to do the craziest stunts. It started out as a competition on who could swim the farthest before chickening out and turning around, evolved into a diving competition and finally culminated as they found a sleeping Gyarados near the docks and decided to see who had the guts to go bother it. Little did they know that the Pokémon was already injured and not in the most forgiving of moods, so naturally the dragon didn't take kindly to being bothered by loud, possibly dangerous kids. And, once it was Cedric's turn to go and poke the beast's side, the Pokémon finally retaliated with a bite that sent Cedric to the hospital for weeks - right after he was rescued from almost drowning in shallow water dyed with his blood, that was.

Lying in the hospital with a newly acquired phobia of water and no idea whether or not he'd ever walk again, Cedric slowly and painfully came to realize that his dream was pretty much over. He'd never be the strongest now. How could he, when he couldn't even get to the bathroom by himself? And even if he did somehow make a full, miraculous recovery, his leg would never be able to give him the support he needed for martial arts again. As such, unable to attend his usual practice, the crushed teen slowly drifted back to "playing with Pokémon" as he referred to Pokémon training as. He started to spend more and more time in the local Gym with the electric Pokémon there, battling but not really caring for it. He still considered it childish, much like playing with toys or trading cards. He was fifteen, already! He was so over the age of stuff like this.

Then, one day when he was just idly loafing around the gym in his wheelchair, pulling the tail of one of the many Pichu there, a new challenger appeared to the gym. At first, Cedric didn't really care; he'd seen challengers come and go and didn't really consider the battles that ensued different from the mock battles the local kids had among themselves with their family's Pokémon. Still, he didn't really have anything else to do, so he stayed and watched. The kid who challenged the gym was around Cedric's own age, but with a body much weaker and frailer than his, to the point the boy looked like he could collapse any minute; he was coughing and shivering, and judging by his looks and reactions to whatever was going on with him, it was pretty much the norm for him. It wasn't a nasty flu that just happened to catch him at a bad time; that sickness was his life.

Weak. That's what the guy was, through and through, Cedric thought.

Then the battle began. To this day, Cedric can't really remember what sort of Pokémon the boy used, nor can he recall the name he introduced himself with as the Gym Leader took his stance on the opposite side of the room. To be honest, he doesn't remember much of the battle itself, either. But what he does remember vividly is the way the boy's eyes shone during the battle and the way he commanded his Pokémon with a hand that not once trembled. He remembers the strength that radiated from every single cell of the boy and his Pokémon companion, and he remembers the terror on face of the Pokémon the boy faced. They all fell, one after another. It was an overwhelming victory, and it was the most amazing thing Cedric had ever seen. It wasn't a childish game to the boy or his opponent; it was a battle, a real fight. And the weak and sickly boy was undeniably stronger than the ex-soldier adult he'd challenged. The boy left after his victory and Cedric never had the chance to actually talk to him, but the impact he left remained. Was this what his parents saw when they battled? Was this why they loved Pokémon battles? Was there some other way to be strong than to... to physically maim your opponent? There was, it seemed. And he wanted in. He wanted his second chance.

Unfortunately, he wasn't in any condition to set out on a dangerous journey all on his own. He didn't have functioning legs, he didn't have any experience from proper battles and hell, he didn't even have any Pokémon. His parents appreciated his interest but they forbade it, too concerned for their son's safety. The thing was, nobody ever denied Cedric anything. If he got his mind set to something, there was no stopping him. If his legs were the problem, he'd spend every single waking moment in rehabilitation to gain back his ability to walk. If no experience was the problem, he'd battle with Pokémon while rehabilitating. If no Pokémon was the problem, well, he'd catch one. And so, Cedric spent the next four years working hard for his new dream. Slowly, he managed to leave behind his wheelchair and started to learn the different type matchups of Pokémon, the moves they learnt and the ways they evolved. The electric Pokémon in the Gym liked him, and while he never did say it outright, he liked them. Sorta. Not in a sappy way, mind you.

But the one problem that remained was his lack of Pokémon to call his own. The ones at the Gym weren't his own, and he could not bring them with him if he left - not that he had a permission to go, anyway. But he didn't really need permission, now did he? He was an adult. All he'd need was a Pokémon willing to share his dream and he'd be set. Which was why he requested to officially become a trainer in the not-that-far region of Kanto in the first place.

And yeah, his dream? It wasn't to become the Pokémon Champion or whatever. His mother had already done that. That wasn't enough. If he was going to do this whole Pokémon thing, he'd become the absolute best in the entire world. He'd hunt down all the strongest trainers, be they Gym Leaders, Elite Four Members, regular kids on the block, or old grandmas living in isolation on the mountains, and he'd kick their asses. Oh, and Legendaries? He'd hunt down those and kick their asses too. He'd become the absolute best at battling. Anything less than that would be a waste of his time.

  13. *Jean Grey*

    *Jean Grey* Night Triumphant

Reserve me as well, hehe. XD Interesting to see the dynamic if Team Rocket comes into the picture. This girl's a runaway grunt after all. XD

    Name: Jessalyn MacDougal (Jessie)

    Age: 18 (December 1)

    Gender: Female

    Trainer Role: Pokemon Trainer

    Appearance: [IMG]

Jessalyn is a tall, dark beauty. She is 6'1" tall, with a lean, toned, long-legged body and a light skin tone. Her long raven hair is slightly wavy and goes down to her waist, though it is usually styled in either a messy, loose braid or in a simple, unkempt ponytail, with long bangs falling to the left of her face. Her facial features are strong and can be described as "dramatic", with dark, arched brows, a straight nose, an angular face shape and striking emerald-colored eyes framed with long, dark lashes often coated in black mascara - one of the few types of makeup she chooses to wear aside from black eyeshadow and black eyeliner. Her teeth are slightly yellow, as she smokes on occasion. Her breasts are very large and prominent - and she isn't shy about them either. Jessalyn's navel is pierced and decorated with a gunmetal-colored skull stud. Her other piercings include three on each ear, decorated with dark cross-shaped studs and dark hoops, and one on her left nostril, adorned with a gunmetal-colored hoop. She also has a tattoo of a tribal-style wolf on her upper-left arm. Her hands and forearms have scars of varying lengths, caused by a number of accidents in the laboratory assisting in dangerous experiments while she was still under Team Rocket.

Jessalyn is one who dislikes particularly girly or classy clothing, as well as light colors. She loves black, and enjoys wearing dark styles. Her most common outfit is a black hooded zip-up vest decorated with a skeleton motif in dark gray, the front of hood having a skull print, and the torso part having a ribcage print. Under this, she wears a black low-cut tank torn above her navel. She also wears short black denim shorts with frayed edges, decorated with a black belt studded with gunmetal spikes. For shoes, she wear black lace-up combat boots over thigh-high black socks with rips. She wears black leather fingerless gloves and two necklaces, one choker-style and studded, the other longer with a black skull pendant. She also often wears a black newsboy hat with a Celtic Cross pin on her head.

Personality: Jessalyn is someone who's difficult to get to know, and her attitude can be described as prickly and troubled. Not the most sociable person, she finds it difficult to trust people and warm up to them. At times, she even pushes them away. She has a pretty good reason for being pessimistic however, as she's lived most of her life around people most would not consider as trustworthy. She's haunted by her past as a low-level Team Rocket grunt under her own caretaker, and as a result wants to fix things as much as possible and cut off any ties she might have with the organization. It's obvious that she wants a normal life, one free of abuse and threats, and tries her best to turn back on the things she regrets doing. She is however a free-spirited, rebellious and headstrong person by nature, not one who enjoys being bound by strict rules, especially rules that she doesn't agree with, and prefers to do things according to her own set of principles on what she thinks is right. She's not a fan of institutions in general, and relies on her herself to choose her own path, and for her, what's right is what works best and most effectively. She doesn't want to be anyone's tool, and lashes out against those whom she perceives will try to use her. She's the opposite of an idealist, preferring to be practical in her approach towards many things, and would willingly throw propriety out of the window any day, especially if it gets the job done. She's an independent girl who would much rather rely on herself to take care of and fix things rather than choose to lean on others, evidently seen in how she tried to ensure her brother's safety. Rather than choosing to deal with the authorities who had the inclination to turn a blind eye towards Team Rocket's activities, she took matters into her own hands and earned money by hustling at pool, participating in motorcycle races, working as a bartender and using her expertise at card games, just so that she could make sure that her brother really was safe. Her heart is in the right place most of the time, it's just that the methods she prefers and her way of thinking can sometimes make her seem uncaring and cold.

Jessalyn is not what one considers feminine, and is actually the farthest thing from a girly-girl, with boyish and far-from-refined interests. She's streetwise, reckless and far from proper. For her, trying to be a "lady" would only cause her suffering and headaches, hence, she chooses to just be herself, without compromising anything. She's not affected by what others think about her tendencies, and makes no effort to please. She swears a lot and isn't ashamed about it. She's also especially skilled at pool and many card games, and is not fazed by opponents bigger than her, being trained at fighting (the one thing she appreciates from being trained as a grunt) and is naturally strong (her punch is particularly painful) herself. She's one to take her bets seriously, and hates it when people try to cheat her when for her "a deal's a deal", usually resorting to violent methods if people don't cooperate. She does think that "might makes right" applies in dealing with and fixing a lot of situations and acts on this a lot, which can get her into trouble at times. She's a risk-taker by nature, preferring to take her chances than do nothing. A brave and fearless girl, she believes in her own capabilities, as mentioned above, and never backs down from a challenge. Under this however, she is still a caring person, and has a certain way of looking out for people that isn't exactly the softest. She might be difficult to get along with and is often suspicious of others due to her trust issues stemming from her youth, but once she opens up and learns to trust, she's someone you'd be proud of to be your friend. She helps her friends in her own way, protects them the best she could, and stands up for them when needed. She might be intimidating, cynical and difficult, yet she does have a tender, if hardened, heart somewhere in there. She might be moody and easily angered, but she definitely has a better side, though it's rarely seen and manifests in less-than-traditionally-gentle ways. In terms of romance, she's pretty reluctant to get into a relationship due to her previous experiences with Erik, and would like to think that she shouldn't be falling in love. Like every normal person though, she has emotions, and is not immune to perhaps falling for someone. Expect her to deny it a lot when it happens, though.

Jessalyn is surprisingly a great cook, and knows how to utilize even the oddest ingredients in creating meals, a skill she learned from one of her roommates. Though she might not look it, she has a lovely soprano singing voice, something she is particularly ashamed of because of how her caretaker used to praise her for it, and would coerce her to sing for him. She never reveals this particular talent of hers, and prefers that nobody knows about it, as said skill is very contrary to how she is, and also reminds her too much of Erik. Her taste is dark, enjoying things such as loud, rough metal music, dark clothing, Dark Pokemon and macabre motifs. She enjoys many different types of alcohol (being a former bartender herself), and has an expectedly high tolerance level.

History: Jessalyn's life can be described as rather complicated. The oldest child of impoverished parents from Goldenrod City, her parents had a difficult time supporting their children and were often between jobs. In order to take care of her and her younger brother Alastair, they took on grunt jobs in Team Rocket, and left them in the care of their Erik, their superior, who was an ugly, scarred man and one of the most prolific scientist admins in the organization. Jessie and her brother thus, grew up in comfort for the first few years of their lives. Erik initially seemed to be a doting father figure, taking care of them in an uncharacteristically tender manner that seemed so opposite his face and his reputation within Team Rocket, even allowing their real parents to visit them at times. The girl grew up to be strong-willed, stubborn and sociable, enjoying roughhousing and playing with the other kids of Team Rocket members, thinking at that time, that everything was going to be alright, and life was going to be normal for her. Erik was particularly doting towards her, often praising her for her looks, her stubbornness, her skill at pool (he was a very good player and taught her) and the lovely voice she was revealed to have after he caught her singing one of the songs he often listened to. Sometimes, he wished for her to be more feminine and to be less rough around the other Team Rocket kids, but he felt that it was a small price to pay for taking in someone who could potentially be an asset to Team Rocket, though neither Jessie nor Alastair knew about his plans.

When Jessie turned eleven, an accident in the Lake of Rage under mysterious circumstances killed her parents and left her and Alastair orphaned. Erik, then, became their sole guardian. While at first, he still remained his normal self, it only took a short time for him to start showing his admin side around the two, especially Jessie. It started with small, menial tasks, but it gradually escalated into something that rang warning bells in the young girl's head. Suddenly, messages had to be delivered to other places in Kanto and Johto known for being Team Rocket hotspots, mysterious packages had to be smuggled past high-security places, and the girl started to learn how to do things such as create small explosives and fight. Now fighting, she took to very quickly and admittedly loved, as she was already a rough-and-tumble child to begin with, but she did not enjoy being ordered around doing the other things expected of her. Suddenly, she realized that life wasn't going to do her any favors after all. Fearing that her brother was soon to foliow, she struck a deal with the man she once saw as her father. She was going to do whatever he asked alright, as long as he would never, ever involve Alastair in any way. This turned out to be a double-edged sword, as yes, Alastair was kept out of things, but Jessie virtually became a slave as a result. At thirteen, she embarked on her first sabotage mission, and at fourteen, she was made to put on her first Grunt uniform, stole her first haul of Pokemon and started working as a laboratory assistant to Erik and other admins, who often made her do dangerous things. What made matters worse, Erik started making advances on her when she was sixteen, using tender methods and better treatment in order to lure her. Sad to say, it worked sometimes, and Jessie found herself both hating Erik for forcing her into becoming his puppet, and yearning for his tenderness and affection, as said gentleness extended both to her and Alastair, though it wasn't all the time for her. At first, she would allow herself to accept his hugs and touches, sleep with him in his room and would oblige to sing for him when he asked, if only to keep Alastair in the dark. Being a self-aware individual, however, it only took a while for her to be disgusted with herself as to how low she had gone, and began rebelling. She started resisting duties actively, and moved out of Erik's house, choosing to stay in a small studio apartment and using her more mature looks to take a job at a local pub as a bartender. Erik knew exactly how to make his little rebel comply however, and started to threaten Jessie using Alastair, bringing up her promise. He knew that she cared for her younger brother very much, and for a while, it forced Jessie to cooperate, if only to make sure her brother was never involved. She did not want to give Erik an easy time however, and purposely made things more difficult for him, to the point that other grunts had to take her from her apartment and bring her to Erik when she was needed, often using various means such as drugging her drinks while she was out at work. She did not want to willingly keep him company at night, sing for him, kiss him or feel his touch any longer. She had a life, she had a responsibility and she was going to make sure that whatever bravery and resourcefulness she had was going to see her through.

Resolving to free herself and her brother, Jessie worked twice as hard so that she could have a chance at a normal life. She wasn't going to rely on the authorities, knowing them to be lazy at times, and who often turned a blind eye to Rocket's activities. Instead, she took longer shifts at the bar, learned some card games from her roommate, and used these newfound skills as well as her talent for pool to hustle and gamble in order to earn some more money, enough for her to be independent and for her to send Alastair away to Unova, having gotten in touch with her mother's younger sister, who lived there. Doing so wasn't easy, as she had to keep her activities away from Erik's knowledge, which was not always an easy thing, especially when she began to enjoy said things, appreciating the freedom they gave her, and the way said activities allowed her to be her daring, confident self. It took a year of working twelve-hour shifts, enduring Erik's requests and hustling before she earned enough to buy herself a motorcycle - to assert her independence and bring in another source of income in the form of motorcycle racing, and another year before she gathered a good amount of money for Alastair, enough to send him to Unova and for him to take up more art lessons to nurture his talent for painting, hoping that he would indeed become the artist he aspired to be. One day, when she was eighteen, she took Alastair out with Erik's permission, under the guise of it being a simple trip to the department store. Instead, she took him to Olivine City, having purchased a ship ticket for him that will take him to Castelia City, and parted ways with him. Also resolving never to look back, she left Goldenrod and headed for Kanto.

Now on her own, Jessie finally has her freedom, something she was deprived of during her stay in Team Rocket. Knowing that she could now choose what she wanted to do, she decided to become a great Trainer, to become strong and to forge her own path of success, said success she wanted to attribute solely to herself. She caught, rather stole her first Pokemon - a tiny male Zorua - shortly before taking off from Goldenrod. Of course she isn't exactly out of the woods yet. Erik, having lost his so-called "dark siren", is still searching for her, mostly out of a need to put Jessie in her place and take her back.

    Nickname: Tristan

    Species: Zorua

    Gender: Male

Personality: Despite his size, Tristan is a very proud individual who could be cocky to a fault. He enjoys showing off his strength (he's strong for his size) and doesn't at all balk at the thought of danger, instead preferring to jump right into any situation. He's rather prone to accidents however, as he's the impulsive sort.

History: Tristan was a Pokemon captured by Team Rocket for possibly experimental purposes, held in one of the Goldenrod warehouses along with several other Pokemon. Jessie broke in before leaving Johto on the Magnet Train, and decided that her first Pokemon was going to be one of them, as she knew that Rocket technically didn't catch the Pokemon anyway, very much aware of their usual methods of utilizing nets and other devices rather than Pokeballs. Tristan was the smallest of the bunch, and the one who first caught Jessie's eye due to its rather proud nature despite its size. Seeing a bit of herself in it, and having a secret soft spot for smaller Pokemon, she immediately decided to catch it with the few balls that she had.

Other: Tristan is tiny, much smaller than average with a height of 1'00".

Reserved! Same for Jean Grey and GoldenHouou. I Don't have time to go through the SUs now; but I will do it later when I'm not on my iPhone! Gentle reminder that I capped the age limit at 18, though.

With that, all of the spots have been reserved! I wont be accepting SUs from anybody else who isn't reserved at this point, though you can ask to be put on a wait list if a reserve drops out. Thanks!
