Kids' WB weekday afternoon line-up drop

Anyone know why Kids' WB completely dropped it's afternoon cartoon line-up? I know that was at least a month or two ago, but I'm still curious.

it was to make way for Daytime WB... <_<

it happened at the begining of 06...

Yeah, ok!
Maybe after the merge with UPN this fall, could they get the afternoon block back?

I really feel sorry for the people that miss a new episode on Saturday. Mainly because repeats aren't aired anywhere, so if you miss a new AG episode you're quite frankly, screwed. :/

And not many people buy the DVDs, and even those are a year behind. (Advanced Battle won't be put to DVD until September)

The block was pulled because the syndicators weren't happy with the ratings for weekday afternoons. The afternoon block was almost always reruns anyway, so it's understandable that it couldn't grab the same type of numbers that the Saturday morning block did.

Clearly we're great!
When I called my local WB affiliate, they told me it was because of the FCC's rules on how much advertising time can be spent towards children, which is why every other network had axed their weekday blocks too.

That, and it must be because children aren't getting enough study time, and time to do their homework. And since Local Broadcasters don't have afternoon lineups for children, that gives them more of a reason to do their homework, unless Cable TV does it.

Dude, Cartoon Network has kids shows all day long, staring from like 6:00 AM to like 10:00 PM and then Adult Swim. The WB Block was only like two hours.

Newsflash, one is syndication, the other is cable. BIG DIFFERENCE.

When Cartoon Network first started up, their high point in drawing viewers was mentioning how they air cartoons 24/7 and never go off air, followed by infomercials like several other cable and syndicated networks do.

Thank our politically correct broadcasting regulatory and educationist stooges

I knew all along that the FCC had something to do with this. Politically correct stooges!
It's more than likely there's federal content regulations prohibiting childrens programming (non-PBS or EI) to be broadcast over-the-air during after school time periods. (though they can still be run on pay-TV)

If the federal government and the United Nations had their way, children would have to be in school 24/7 from birth and continue on until death. (right off of the NEA's socialist engineering agenda!)

Plus, I'd also like to thank corporate greed and how cable has spelled death for regular network television since the 1990s.

Afternoon childrens commercial programming, as we knew it, is basically outlawed (in a nutshell).

Maybe it's all a plot for Adult Tyranny, to force children to do their homework, so that the ever-growing army of Teenager forces and Adults may grow larger, and it would end up forcing the Kids Next Door to withdraw to their Moon Base.

...Or maybe it's because some older people like us enjoy the weekday afternoon lineups, so that we'd have something to enjoy, until we get jobs.

I hate that they did this since I missed some very good episodes on Satuday >> *cough8thbadgecough* I hope they realize what they've done, and put it back on the weekdays. I need something to relax with after school.

With my cable on channel 20 they air what aired on Saturday 10am-12pm which means you'll be able to catch it again the next day.
