As we know Kukui did fight Lance at one point and lost.
I re-looked on Kukui's Team and it seems quite anti-Lance:
1. Alolan Ninetales- a solid anti-Dragon type with its typing, could go well against Dragonairs/Dragonites
2. Midday Lycanroc - a Pokemon with a priority rock-move. Good against Aerodactyl, Gyarados, Dragonites, Charizard
3. Magnezone - tank Electic type. Good against Gyarados, Aerodactyl, Charizard, Seadra (if you want to count)
4. Snorlax - a solid tank which can withstand few hits
5. Braviary - the odd one here. Tailwind can help rest of the Team though. Also it can hit quite hard.
6. Starter - well this one is to be strong against the Player's starter.
As a bonus, his Battle Royal Team also has Crabominable, another Ice-type.
What do you think? Am I looking too much into it or might it be another interesting hint.
