• Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future
Sorry for any inconvenience with this and sorry for any lost posts.

Not saying it's bad or anything, but Pokemon Trading Card Game for GB. Come on, it didn't even have real Pokemon in it!

Pokemon Trozei was ....pathotic.

But for the regular RPGs, I'd have to say 3rd gen. A lot of things disappeared that were awesome in gen 2.

i agree! that game had no worth to it!

Krake

Flabebe's Kids
Generation 3, even thugh I enjoyed playing it, the Pokemon were too much like old ones (Krabby/Corphish, Seel/Spheal, etc.).

Pokemon Trozei.

Of the main series, they're all pretty significant. Maybe gen II is the least, it added some significant stuff, but it isn't much compared to the later games.

The most pointless game that I thought was made was PBR because it let me down
thinking there would be some kind of story. Also, the old pokemon had the same
animation as before in GC games

I think the TCG's and Trozei were pretty pointless. Out of all the generations I think that the only one I didn't like was 3. I mean honestly they didn't even make new sprites of old pokemon they just revamped some of them. I liked secret bases and thats about it.

Wow, this is the worst poll ever, why is it still alive? The poll and the topic are asking two completely different questions, so what's the point of answering if you don't even know what you're answering?

The least significant one was the one with the thread in the wrong section.

Which game was that? Sorry if I'm missing something.

Wow, this is the worst post ever. It doesn't contribute to the topic in any positive way.

Anyways, I'm not sure I completely understand the terms of your question. Do you mean which specific generation was the least significant, or which game in particular (including spin-offs that belonged to no certain generation, I mean).

I guess technically the least significant games would be things like Pokemon Snap, Pokemon Stadium/Colosseum/Battle Revolution, Pokemon Pinball, Hey You Pikachu, Pokemon Puzzle Leauge, etc etc, because most of the spinoff games have no impact at ALL on the main series (With the exception of a few games that you can get rare pokemon for transfer to main series games on.)

But I think out of the main games, the least significant was Yellow. It was pretty much like "let's take Red and Blue and make it more like the anime."
As much as I am not a huge fan of 3rdGen, I think yellow was more useless/had no impact on the game series as a whole at all.

But there's absolutely no reason that the poll should be contradictory of itself, and I nor anyone else knows what people are voting for. It seems like in general people like the second generation the BEST, but it also has the most votes in the poll, of which the topic title and the post itself are asking which generation was the least significant, while the most popular answer seems to match the most popular game. You see what I'm saying?

Least significant is definetly 2nd Gen, it added a few things, but for the most part, wasn't amazing, and soon after came 3rd gen.

1st gen - Start off, created Pokemon.
2nd gen- Added shiny pokes, a load of underused pokemon, genders.
3rd Gen- An extremely large gen, created EV's, Natures, etc.
4th Gen- Broke a record for amount of copies sold in ~2 days, not sure exactly what it was. Utilized touch screen and used Nintendo Wifi for trading and battling.

You forgot eggs and the breeding system in second gen, which is a pretty big thing. And double battles.
And the addition of two new types(the only gen so far to have new types, besides the first one obviously). And the realtime day/night system. And the introduction of a feature that lets you fight trainers youve already fought again.

Don't underestimate
I have no clue to which one is the best. the 4th one could have been alot better. i think alot of people liked the 2nd one becuase it was the first new pokemon game.

for the worst im going with Pokemon Mystery Duengon. it adds nothing, its boring, and is'nt fun at all. i mean even though Pokemon Ranger sucks (which it does big time) i will play the game just to get that manaphy egg. (which isnt really much of a prize in my eyes) but i digress it doesnt help in your real pokemon games, it isnt fun and you want to kill the little *******s inside the game.

I would like to say Gen 3 was the least significant due to my almost obsessive hate for it, but it wasn't . It added natures and abilities, but also it de-innovated(removed day/night, no backwards compatibility etc) so that may balance it to be the least significant. But it was probably either Battle Revolution or Pokemon Box. No wait, its Pokemon Channel.
