Legend of Korra: Book 4 - Balance - Starts October 3

The scene where she was fighting, was probably a Pro-Bending-like tournament where you fight 1v1 and I feel like she's going to get into some trouble there.

The earth kingdom is mid 20th century china. think about it. Kuvira wants bandits to be "productive members of society" who else wanted that? Mao Zedong and Sun Yat Sen. (Su Yin?) Kuvira's unified Earth Kingdom is mirroring the people's republic of china. She's a socialist villian. Zaheer was an anarchist. Unalaq was a religious extremist. And Amon, slightly similar to Kuvira, was a communist revolutionary. All 20th century ideals. Taking place in the Avatar world in the early 20th century. Just thought that was something significant to think about...

The Awesome Guy

You bet I am...
I'm so excited for the new season! Everything seems so dark on this one... Like a feeling of sadness... I'm thrilled to see which battle was korra into in the trailer

Well Michael and Bryan already said during ATLA's run that the Earth Kingdom was based on China so your thoughts would be correct :)

It's a Christmas miracle. Korra is back on iTunes

Eh..Korra is one of the few series worth buying on DVD/Blu-ray still. Those commentaries and bonus features are usually worth it.

Where's that "the more you know" .gif when you need it the most.

Either way, I'm just kind of sad 'cuz I know at some point, there's going to be some revelation that Kuvira pulled some pretty major strings to get so many colonies to join her (like as one person said, having some bandits she recruited drive the people of colonies into poverty to the point of signing up with Kuvira out of desperation).

I bet the next episode will explain how Korra became a underground fighter. I still think she's shaken up by the events of the season 3 final and doesn't think a Avatar is needed anymore. Or maybe it's something else. And the only reason she's losing is because she's not focused or something. I don't know.

Or it could be both

Friday's episode is called "The Forgotten Ones". Definitely sounds like a flashback episode.

Where did you get that ? o: Can't find it anywhere...

I've also been thinking that she might participate in those types of fights because she wants to reach her old fighting level. Let's not forget that she only left the South Pole 6 months ago, meaning that she recently "fully recovered" physically from her injuries. Losing like that (without even really touching your opponent) to an Earthbender must've been kinda hard on her, especially for someone like Korra.

I loathe what Korra has been reduced to, but I'm still interested in how that happened. And truthfully, with the Earth Kingdom in chaos ever since Zaheer's coup, why would Korra think she wasn't needed as the Avatar? Isn't restoring order part of her job? :x

I don't know. I'm not in Korra's head. But at the end of Book 3 her friends were advancing to new levels, Jinora and her baldness, Bolin and Lava Bending, the Air Benders pretty much stopping Zaheer from killing her and reviving the Air Nation, and she's in a wheel chair in a weak state. Who knows what's going on in Korra's head right now? But I don't think it's just a coincidence that all that happens when Korra's having nasty visions of Amon and the other villains taunting her that the world doesn't need her anymore. Now, I could totally be wrong about what's going on with Korra. Maybe she doesn't think she's a good enough Avatar instead. But I am really excited to see Korra's development this season. I can just tell Korra is going to be at her best here and that most of us if not all will be rooting for her.

Toph's return was just as good as Iroh's return in Book 2 imho. I'm just glad that there's another ATLA character back since I found Aang's friends to be way more interesting than the cast of LoK, but that's probably just me. I look forward to how Toph will help Korra.

Toph returning is all I asked for from this book. A retired police chief turned swamp witch is amazing.

As long as we get to see Lin and Su reunite with Toph I'll be happy. A scene with Zuko and Katara would be great as well. It would be awesome is Toph, Katara, and Zuko helped in the final battle with Kuvira's troops.

Nickelodeon confirming that Korra, Kuvira and Prince Wu are going to be the main focus of tomorrow's episode. This means three things;

1- It won't be an episode excluding Korra like I feared it would be (like, uneven episodes being on her friends and even ones on Korra until they reunited).
2- We probably won't see much from the Airbending kids, meaning that they might not start looking for Korra just yet. My guess is we're going to see them set off.
3- Korra being focused basically means more Toph!

Eh, it's kind of a meaningless tweet. More Kuvira means more Bolin and more Wu means more Mako as well.

Easygoing Luxray.
Episode 3 has been crushed in Kuvira's hand.

Finally, Mako. You tell Wu what's so wrong about him after everyone so casually tossed him aside in favor of Kuvira, who hasn't realized yet that the word "empire" automatically deems it as evil.

Toph is still being the same young girl from before, loving to beat Avatars around for her amusement...though I'm surprised Korra has still poison in her and she wants it there subconsciously.
