Legend of Zelda : The Swarm

The Legend of Zelda
The Swarm

Long before the time we know now, before the master Sword was forged, before the Sages were born, before the shadows of evil took hold, Hyrule was a place of war. It was not a war between the races of Hyrule, or with a neighbouring country. This war was against a race of beings that swept across the world devouring all that stood before them, until nothing remained. Entire cities fell before them, without warning they wiped out entire races of people before they had a chance to fight back. It was only thanks to the foresight of a few seers in Hyrule, that a defence was prepared in time. This army of destruction became known as The Swarm. Follow the calm before the storm, they swept across the land, stripping it of all life.

As their name indicated, The Swarm were insect like in appearance. multi-legged Scouts filled the forward ranks, often making an appearance before the rest. Whether they escaped from the defenders of Hyrule or not, it didn't make a difference. Soon the full force came, heavy armoured Soldiers and winged Hunters descended upon Hyrule. The races banded together, and it was not just the primary races. Knowing all to well what lay ahead if the Swarm were to pass through, beings of all forms rose up to help fight them of. Keatons lent their wisdom and tactics to the Gerudos, eternal Stalfos rose from their graves at night, to fend off attacks, even foreign races made long journeys from untouched or ravaged lands to help.

As the two opposing forces battled against each other, it soon became apparent which side was going to win. The Swarm was undying. No matter how many corpses littered the field there were always more to fill the empty ranks. If something wasn't done soon, then Hyrule would fall, followed by the rest of the world. The wisest could not tell where The Swarm had come from. Some decided they had risen from a long slumber beneath the earth, and were the natural course of evolution from the planet. Others though they had descended from the heavens, a plague brought upon the disbelievers.

Great research was done, and near the end a solution was found. Since The Swarm was driven by instinct only, and not evil intent, it would be easier to trap within a magical seal. Built by the first race that lived in the world (any details of this race remain unknown, even today), a number of temples lay scattered around Hyrule and nearby islands. Within each temple lay a Beacon. A torch with which to illuminate the shadows. Designed to trap an evil force, they were instead used to create a realm of purity that would hold The Swarm. The only thing a beacon required to light it, was a drop of blood. Each beacon required a different type of blood, and as the last fire burst into life, the blood bond created a cage that enveloped the entire Swarm.

With The Swarm finally defeated, peace returned to Hyrule, and a great unity was forged with the many races. As time passed, that union began to crumble. Disagreements turned to feuds, arguments turned to fights. As the bonds between races began to weaken, so did those of the cage. One by one the beacons extinguished, until only a few remained.

As time continued to the present day, and a dark war ravaged the land, the bonds between the last remaining races of Hyrule weakened to the point of collapse. Even after the darkness was sealed away, the pressure on the cafe became too much. Slowly, The Swarm was slipping through breaks in the cage. Though weak and small in number, they would quickly recuperate, and return to what they were doing before they became trapped. With Hyrule devastated by war, this are looking bleak. Only through the quick reactions of Princess Zelda, were the races original involved in the blood bond contacted. Representatives of each made their way to Kakariko Village, where they would learn of the greater good to which they must offer more than just their dedication. If they are not successful, it may well spell the end of all things.

Correct, I have not listed Age. Since each species would have it's own age range, I have omitted the field to stop confusion. Poor Sign Ups will be rejected outright and given no second chances. If they need improving, you will be given as many chances as I deem necessary, based on the changes between the original and updated.

Species and RPG Map

The Blood Bond of the beacons requires that each one be from a different species. That means that there can be only one of any species in the group who will seek them out. I know how easy it is in RPGs like this to go the easy route and have a Hylian, but now you can't. There are numerous races and species in the Zelda games (including would be enemies) to choose from. If you are unsure about a more obscure race, then ask, and I'll tell you what you can or can't do about it. Here are just a few choices:

Zora
Gerudo (FEMALE ONLY)
Subrosian
Stalfos
Tokay
Kokiri
Minish
Wizzrobe

This map represents Hyrule and the surrounding islands. The RPG takes place within this space of the world.

Limits, Reserves, Etc

How many places am I limiting the RPG to? I don't know, I need at least 8 characters, but will probably allow more depending on the quality and quantity of sign ups.

Reserves, I will accept from people I know will fill out the form within a few days of asking for the spot. I will not accept them from people I do not know. In a case of a double up, I will choose the better form.

May I please reserve a spot? I realise you probably don't know me too well but I promise to you, that my sign up will be fished by tomorrow. If it isn't, you may cancel my reservation as it shows I can't keep a simple promise.

This RPG looks good. I've been waiting for a decent Zelda RPG for a while and this looks like it could be it.

Dan would it be possible to have a Lizalfos? (I am not sure thats right as my games have been destroyed *glares at siblings* so I can't check *stupid google*) I am quite attached to these lizards :D

Think Different
I was considering creating a Stalfos character sign up, but before I wrote the history of my character I just wanted to clarify a few things. In my research it seems that Gibdos turned into Stalfos when they were burned in Oracle of Ages/Seasons and the Minish Cap games. However Gibdos turned into re-deads when burned in Majoras Mask.

Basically this boils down to the question: Which games will you use as guides considering the appearance of the enemies and their nature varies so much for each game?

Name: Raoul

Gender: Male

Species: Sheikah

Personality: Raoul is a calm, reserved person. He keeps to himself, and doesn’t talk much. As most quiet people, he is often overlooked, and he is grateful for that. He seems bitter, but of course, that's just a facade. In short, he is an observer of people.

Description: He has short, light blonde hair (nearly white) in spikes at the bottom, and the top of his head rests a turban with the Sheikan eye symbol on it. His eyes are an astounding shade of blue and his skin is a paleish-normal color. His outfit is a dark blue, loose-fitting robe tied at the waist. On the back is a Sheikan eye, along with the three triangles and a symbol. Black sandals adorn his dainty feet. In case you're wondering, he's about six foot, two inches.

History: A Sheikan by birth, Raoul lived in Kakariko Village as a child. Many people often identified him as the weird kid who wanted to be like Dampe the Gravekeeper, which was true for a short time. As a child, Raoul lived in naivety towards the fact that he was a Sheikah. It wasn’t until he was ten (a year after Link went to sleep) that his adoptive parents were destroyed in a small fire, leaving him alone and unloved. He wandered the streets of Hyrule Castle Market, until one day a man spotted him.
But not just any man.

It was the Happy Mask Salesman.

For five years, Raoul was instructed in the way of mask-making, and repairing. Over the years, he received a special harp from the salesman that was adorned with the Sheikan Eye.
After a while, the young man was able to learn the Song of Healing, a song the salesman used to transfer living things into masks, provided they were dead/near death.

While living in the city, Raoul was able to go to the Shooting Game store, where he eventually became a good shot. On the night of his fifteenth birthday, the salesman presented Raoul with the arrow, along with the ability to make it a Fire arrow or an Ice arrow.

That night, Ganondorf struck Hyrule Castle Market, and had his minions brutally slaughter the innocent villagers. Fortunately, after Raoul had received his bow, the salesman informed him that he was indeed a Shiekah, and should flee to begin training.

An hour prior to the slaughter, Raoul unwittingly fled the doomed city and went to his home city, Kakariko, and with that, the Shadow Temple, where he trained for a year in order to enhance his skills as a Sheikah.

Weapon: He uses a bow and arrow, along with a Deku Nut, and of course the occasional magic.

Instrument: A Sheikan Harp

Equipment: Bunny Hood, Stone Mask, Mask of Truth, and the [willeditlaterafterideacomes], and the Fire/Ice Bow upgrades

Other: Currently, he is sixteen years of age if you couldn't infer that.

Sample:

Roaring like a fierce tiger, the thunder clapped its way throughout the area. Rain droplets plunged from the sky onto a old man's face as he quietly, but quickly stolled down the empty street of Outpost City. Glancing both ways before he scurried to the right path caused him to pause for a moment. At that precise moment, a bolt of lightning impaled the ground near him; had he been there, he would be a crisp, but as luck would have it, he wasn't.

Sighing with relief, the old man walked towards the left and into a wooden shack, where he ran his hand through his thick, course raven hair. Rubbing his emerald green eyes, and arching his back, he let out a yawn. Rainy days like this always made him sleepy.

Walking deeper into the shack, he noticed there was a note on the table.

"Alferd,
I appreciate your hospitality for allowing me to stay in your humble abode for a fortnight, but now it is time for me to go. I bid you farewell with a letter, as I cannot stand saying goodbye face to face. Call me a coward if you will, but I just cannot stand doing that. It's depressing. I may visit you soon, all depending on what is going on.

May the Goddesses bless you,
Raoul"

Rereading the note, and then pausing, he sighed, knowing he probably wouldn't see him for a good while.

Vividly, he recalled the day they first met, over a six monthsago. Like today, it was rainy, and he had an errand to finish up in the Castle Market. Upon returning home, he found Raoul on the streets, and took him in for a night. Just like today, the morning after he arrived, he vanished into the night with a note similar to the one Alferd was reading.

Sighing now, Alferd climbed into his bed, and watched the world around him eventually go black.

Two or three miles away, outside of the Kokori Forest a young man was quickly walking towards the village of Kakariko. As the man stepped out into the sun, you could see the sunlight engross him completely. Instantly, his features were now noticable. A turban with the familiar Shiekan eye, and a dark blue robe adorned his somewhat muscular body. Below the robe walked two legs, dressed in a pair of black pants. Looking closely would allow one to see the dark blue shirt that engulfed most of his upper torso.

After about two and a half hours, he finally reached the at one time small village, which now had a population busting 10,000.

With great ease, he climbed the large stairs, and entered his hometown.

As he tried to enter the town, a guard appeared on the scene and inquired, "What is it that you need in this village?"

Fumbling for a moment, he pulled a note out of his pocket written by the Princess Zelda, with the stamp of Hyrule imprinted at the lower right-hand corner.

The guard flashed a false smile, glaring with hatred towards Raoul. With a flash of his arms, the gate was open for Raoul to enter, which he did.

Glancing around at the village, he noticed that war had most definitly taken it's toll on the town. Great buildings were now rundown, the usual Cucco that squawked around had disappeared.

"Home sweet home," was the somewhat confused utterance coming from Raoul's mouth.

With a frown engraved on his face, he walked towards the graveyard to pay a visit.

Walking up the path, he found a gate closing the cemetery off. "This will just not do," he muttered under his breath. With a swift kick, the gate opened, and he entered the resting place of the dead.

Gasping, he observed the scene before him. The once nicely kept graveyard he had spent most of his childhood in was overrun with weeds up to his knees.

Tomb stones had been damaged, and he just was not sure what he could do.

Uneasy, he took out his harp, wondering if it could work.

Plucking each string into a melody that sounded like Saria's Song backwards, the Song of Healing began to take its affect on the tombstones. What was crumbled was now fixed.

Grabbing a fire arrow, he bent down onto the ground and set the entire grassland on fire.

While it burned, he climbed on top of Dampe's old house, and watched the grass dissappear.

Twenty minutes later, he strung a few ice arrows, and put out the fires. Hesitantly, he trudged over to a tombstone in the far east.

Looking down, he read the names on the tombstone. "Fredrick and Gwyneth," read the information on the tombstone. With a lone tear appearing in his eye, he scampered out of the massive cemetery to avoid completely breaking down and sobbing.

He quickly walked over to the center of the village where a fountain pointing out the cardinal directions was recently placed. Sighing, he took a seat before the great fountain in a bench.

In somewhat awe, he muttered to himself, "It's amazing how things change over a span of four years."

Shadowfaith

Shinigami...
Main Character

Name: Talise

Gender: Female

Species: Zora

Personality: Rather childish and as most would see her, ‘adorable’. Talise is a naive Zora with all tendencies to learn more and more on her journeys throughout the land of Hyrule, even if it requires her getting in trouble now and again, though she tries to evade getting in any sort of danger, it isn’t always easy for her to do so. She is good and pure of heart, and is always willing to help anyone who appears to be in a pickle, but of course her good nature can always backfire and get her into the most dangerous of situations.

Description: She appears to be like any other Zora, a pale blue from a distance, but a silver-ish white when looked at closely. Her tail fin descends to just above the ground and is wrapped in a black thread, from the bottom of her tail, to just above half way of the extra limb. She wears a pair of black gloves, which aids her when fighting at a close range. Around her waste hangs a black belt, accompanied by a silver buckle, which holds a small knife in place for when she is in dire need of defence and a pair of black, knee high boots are present upon her feet. Both her arms are racked with hand made bracelets, made of all types of textures such as leather, cotton and even rare substances such as silver. These dark accessories lay in comparison with her pale complexion and innocent looks.

History: A traveller, who’s true home is the salty seas of the Great Bay, but preferred to wander the land in search of new and exiting things. Her travels have taught her many lessons, but it seems that a sense for danger is not one of them. True she has overcome most of her obstacles, but it is evident from the many scars and scratches upon her otherwise perfect body, that she has suffered greatly from her lack of common sense.

Her travels have taken her to the swamps of Termina to the ghostly land of the Ikana Valley. She has only recently reached the land of Hyrule and has managed only to visit the depths of Lake Hylia, where she has managed to stumble across an underwater temple, whose gates are unfortunately closed. She remembers catching a glimpse of something that clearly resembled her own species.

She travels with her small companion Luka, a Deku Scrub.

Weapon: Her fists are her main weapons, but she also carries a small knife with her, just in case.

Instrument: A golden flute that she carries at her belt, this is securely attached as it is of great value to her.

Equipment: All she carries is a small pouch with healing herbs and a small knife.

Other: N/A

Side character

Name: Luka

Gender: Male

Species: Deku Scrub

Personality: A little weak in physical strength, but is by far the one with the most common sense. A little shy and embarrassed around anyone other than Talise, but certainly has the courage to stand up to enemies when he is in a pinch, but this still doesn’t mean that he doesn’t depend mostly on Talise for his protection. He may not be the smartest or the strongest of his species, but he is certainly there to give his companion a helping hand whenever she needs it most.

Description: He looks to be like any other Scrub in general appearance. A necklace of leaves encircle his neck and wrists and a strange colouring of leaves sprout from his head, mostly of purples and Yellows. He wears small brown boots and a small pendant, made of an unknown texture accompanies the circle of leaves around his neck. This was given to him by Talise when they first became friends.

History: He once lived a secluded life in the depths of the swamps when he met a strange being who he learnt to be a Zora, only around a year ago. He had helped her to escape the clutches of the Deku King when she had stupidly wandered into their territory without much thought of the consciences. They quickly became friends after that, and Luka had shyly asked if he could accompany her on her journeys through the different lands.

Weapon: Deku nuts

Instrument: Nothing

Equipment: Nothing

Other: N/A

Sample: (Will edit)

Erik - Though I don't think it would take 20 minutes to get through the dense mountain range seperating western Hyrule from the rest, along with the distance between Outpost and Kakriko, Approved.

Shadowfaith - Accepted. I assume the Zora is one of the main 8, and the Deku Scrub an additional character?

Name: Sherry
Gender: female

Species: Gerudo

Personality: Sherry is extremely curious and has a loud mouth. She is a smart alick and takes nothing from noone.Sherry likes to steal and likes to ''spy'' on people.

Description: she is 5'6'' tall, and she has long red hair. Sherry's eyes are red and her skin is tan because she is usualy outside. She has a nice body build, she has a cut stomach that has scars from being beaten by her mother.

History: when sherry was around 5 her mom had started to teach sherry the tools of the trade to become a gerudo warrior. She learned to steal, fight, spy, and learned to talk her way out of any situation. Later, as sherry grew up her mom had started getting abusive with her. Her mom had beaten her on a dayly bases and wouldn't let up until she started to bleed. When sherry was 13 she had enough and with her sword cut her mom's right hand off. As her mom was dieing Sherry said ''Thats for all the pain and anguish you've given to me. I hope you don't die to quickly either.'' As sherry started becoming a full fledged Gerudo warrior, she started to seclude herself from everyone else and did her own thing.

Weapon: Sabre- a 3 foot long blade that is bent for slicing better. The sword is 1/2 feet wide and has the insignia of the Gerudo's on the hilt of the sword.

Equipment: Sherry has a brest plate armor, and her pants have metalic plates on her thighs, and her shins. She also has a horse named Esic

Sample:
Sherry was riding esic with her hands up in the air playing around with him.
"Sherry!" a familiar voice rang out into the morning
"What?" Sherry screamed back knowing who it was
"Come the elders want you" A Gerudo came up to Sherry riding a horse of her own
"Alright" Sherry said as she grabbed the reins of Esic and directed the horse to the fortress.
As Sherry rode into the fortress the Elders where all outside awaiting for her arrival.
''Sherry, we need you to go to Kakriko village, you've been chosen by the council to go there and join a quest thats going on'' said the elder with not hand.
"Alright, when do I leave?" Sherry asked
"Now'' said the same elder

With hearing that Sherry rode off out of the Gerudo fortress and through the canyon. As she was reaching the Hyrulian fields she noticed it was ashy and chared. Sherry rode passed the castle and saw it was smokey, she stopped for a second to veiw the scene but then continued on riding towards the Kakriko village.

Sherry reached the town and hoped off Esic and noticed that there was a conjigation happening and awaited for it to start.

salmorj - Denied. Personality and Description are both too short, and your sample is poor, not to mention it has a poor Gerudo reaction considering the time period this RPG is set in.

Damsel mostly Stressed.
ok its not complete as I'm having writers block. But you can check out what I got so far...

Name: Nanaea

Gender: female

Species: Lizalfos

Personality:

Nanaea is quite boastful and proud of what she is, she often tries to relate everything to her own kind and when something is different tends to look down on it for not being apart of what she is. Her hissing laughter can often be mistaken for an aggressive growl (they are very much alike). If she decides someone is worthy of her presence she will deem then her friend and will often call them that. But being the skilled warrior she is she doesn’t often do that and more then likely will just call one by their race. She will respect those she deems a strong warrior but still may just call them ally or companion. She is far pickier of her friends then she is when she gets a crush, which she is known for.

She is also known for her temper and being very blunt, which means she will let you know what she thinks and if you don’t agree she may get angry, or at least spit at you.
She also has a disliking for magic, as she thinks it’s cheating out what a real warrior should be.

She often takes a liken to young men of almost any race and tends to ‘flirt’ which is more of a hard pat on the back that sends them spiraling and sometimes she gets overprotective. Even acts foolishly when she has a crush and forgets her own strength. Though it’s easy to know when she has a crush as her strange purring cooing gives it away. But be warned, she does not take rejection lightly, she easily falls in love but she falls out of it like a boulder rolling down the hillside.

Description: Nanaea is a Lizalfos which is a cold blooded lizard humanoid. They are not mammal and so do not nurse their young. Which means it is hard to tell a female from a male. Nanaea stands almost six feet tall, only a tad shorter then the male species. She has the basic build as one and while being a tad slender is still often mistaken for a male. (Some even believe Lizalfos have no females) it doesn’t help that her voice is deep like one as well though doesn’t quite hold a solid man like voice its raspy and can be mistaken easily. She has the basic build of her species with the darker green scales on her back and arms while a creamier belly.

Her lizard like head is decorated in certain tribal paints which indicate her skill with her weapon and her level in her tribe. The red markings over her eyes and across her muzzle look much like blood but are actually a red dye mixed with mud. On her head is what looks like hair but really is colorful bird feathers gathered together and tied to hang down like hair, a sort of wig though it has much ritual history. Her tail is also ringed around with the red paint making it like racoon marks though not as thick.

Around her thing three fingered arms are two gold bands, not real gold but cloth that is tied around her upper arm and her wrists. Around her lizard like legs and waist is a loin cloth, long and decorated in bright colors reaching her a little past the knees. Her chest has a simple silver breast plate to protect her; it has leather straps over her shoulders and a plate on her back. A belt goes around her shoulder and under her aim which she carries her axe while strapped to her leg is a small simple dagger. One eye is yellow and has a sharp look about it while the other is faded as she had a bad run in with a Keese and lost her sight in that eye.

(Pretty much a Lizalfos with an axe a feathered wig and a lion cloth that got painted on)

History: Born and raised inside the mountian ranges around kanto. Mostly inside caves and cavrens that go throughout the range and rarely this species goes outside. Nanaea often was the one to go with trading parties and groups of such as they would often run into problems with gorons who shared the same home as they.

Nanaea was born into a 'pure-blood' family and being the youngest daughter out of seven girls her parents decided that she would be the warrior of there linage as no son's could take this as they had none. Nanaea took this with great honor and determination and went on about the various rituals that a lizaflos must go through to become a weapon wielding guard.

Nanaea has never heard of the swarm like most of the world, it has been forgotten. She has grown racist against other species and when some strange things began to go on she couldn't belive SHE had to be the one to go out from her home. But she took the duty with great honor and prepared for the trip.

Weapon: A battle axe, from blade to the handle is about waist high and she tries to sharpen it often.
Also she has a small dagger that while she isn’t as skilled with uses it when in very close range scuffles.

Instrument: http://www.music.iastate.edu/antiqua/shofar.htm
Cuz I can just picture her playing that to annoy people. Though if her character was a tad different I’d give her a banjo… come on banjo playing lizard woman…

Equipment: Chest plate, claws (better for climbing then anything.) she can survive pretty well on her own otherwise.

"Just kidding!"
I have a basic knowledge of Gerudos...I tried to capture their personalities. I think I failed, but....

Name: Naomi
Gender: Female
Species: Gerudo

Personality: She is very agressive, fiery tempered, and quick witted, as the female residents of Gerudo Valley have the same personality as well. Unlike most of the Gerudos she lives and trains with, she is overly-agressive and might even come close to killing her opponent just to win. She has a quick temper and can be easily angered. She detests being underestimated, and dislikes being teased with a passion, although she does love teasing others. She is not one to foolishly fall in love with various different men, but if you play matchmaking with her and another guy right, she will warm up to whomever. She does not exactly trust guys yet, but she will cooperate with them. Sooner or later, she'll learn to trust guys instead of just viewing

Description: She stands at 5'3" and dark, tanned skin from training outdoors. Her fiery red hair is tied up loosely in a long ponytail that almost rivals the hair color of the goddess of power, Din. She wears a sleeveless, sea green shirt that stops mid-way to expose her stomach. She wears thick sea green pants with a gold belt with the Gerudo insignia on it and a gold amulet around her neck. On her feet, she prefers sea green, flat soled shoes and long, sea green gloves on her arms that have finger holes. Around her wrists are gold gauntlets. She still has various scars and cuts from overworking herself.

History: She is a native Gerudo, born and raised in the Gerudo Valley. Tradition stated that all Gerudo must be taught how to steal and fight. Day after day, she went through rigorous training, learning how to fight and defend with two, sabres. Along with that, she had to learn how to accurately shoot an arrow at targets, on horseback or on foot. She admired Nabooru, the famous (or infamous) thief and aspired to be just like her. With newfound motivation, she began to try improving daily to the point to try to be considered an equal, or at least second-best to, her idol.

Even if she didn't admire Nabooru, she would still dislike Ganondorf. One day, while she was training, she accidentally bumped into Ganondorf. She tried to apologize to him, but he merely sneered and pushed her aside, mumbling about how weak she and the rest of the Gerudos were. She was knocked to the ground and went skidding across the hard, rocky ground, cutting her skin. Her temper flaring, Naomi tried to attack Ganondorf. She soon was on the receiving end of his most powerful shadow attacks.

With that, he was on his way to the direction of the Hyrule Castle. She soon put that encounter behind her and began to set out on a journey to improve her skills. She occasionally steals from citizens in the Hyrule Market and has stolen her horse, Nafa ("Nafa" is arabic for useful), from the Lon Lon Ranch, along with two cows.
She might also be seen in the Gerudo Training Grounds or practicing near the Desert Colossuss.

Weapon: Two long sabres and a bow and arrow
Instrument: none
Equipment: Gold Gauntlets, Bow, Fire/Ice arrows
Other: N/A

Sample: Naomi walked outdoors, where the hot sun beat upon her dark, tan skin. Her hazel-brown eyes shone with fierce determination as she picked up her sabres. She grabbed her bow, stacked up on arrows, and began to make her way towards her horse. With a satisfied grin, she jumped aboard Nafa, her trustworthy chestnut brown horse with a honey-colored mane and tail and began to ride off for target practice.

A Gerudo guard watched her cautiously as Naomi drew closer and closer, but upon recognizing her face, smiled as she stepped aside. Naomi made sure her horse was galloping at high speed. When she felt she was riding at the approximate speed she wanted, she pulled out her bow, swiftly grabbed some arrows and began to shoot them at targets. Each time, the arrow hit the targets dead-center.
Before she could even manuever her horse to turn around, the Gerudo thief Nabooru stood in her way. Pulling the reigns, Naomi stopped Nafa.

"Are you the one named Naomi?" This sounded more like an order than it was a question.

Naomi jumped off her horse to face Nabooru. "Yes, I am. What does the great Nabooru want from me?"

There was a glint in Nabooru's eyes that was unmistakenly a look of curiousity. "Tell me...out there in the fields of Hyrule, what have you seen in the past?"

Naomi was confused. Why was she being interrogated? Was she going to be punished for traveling outside Gerudo Valley? It didn't make any sense.

"Well...the Hyrule Fields have crisp, green grass. The wind blows in gently and gives the Field a tranquil look. Plus, the skies are blue and clear. It's a perfect place to go horseback riding, and at night, enemies appear for me to fight with. In the past, anyway. I haven't seen the Field in a long time; nor has anyone else."

Nabooru was becoming more interested in the girl's spirit, while also drinking in every word. She then turned to Naomi with a serious face. "Come with me. There is something you must see. There is a reason why we haven't seen the Fields in a long time."

Nabooru led Naomi outside Gerudo Valley. Naomi, finally allowed to see the Field after a long time, expected the fields to look as she had seen them a long time ago. What she saw surprised her instead. The once bright and sunny atmosphere turned into a dark, frightening world.

The sky was now a dark purple, blanketing the Field with darkness. The emerald green grass had become shriveled and wilted. The trees now had soot-black leaves and the tree trunks and branches were a sickly brown color, like that of a diseased tree. It was like the world was going to end soon.

"Who could have done such a thing?! I need to do something right now!" Naomi raged, struggling to break free from Nabooru's grasp as Nabooru stopped her from doing anything rash.

Naomi fell silent as Nabooru began telling her vital information. "The Gerudos and I have decided that you will become the Representative of the Gerudos. In Kakariko Village, you will learn why this is happening. Will you accept the will of the Sage of Spirit?"

Naomi was speechless. She knew about the other Sages, but had no idea who the Sage of Spirit was until now. Clenching her fists, she accepted the task. She whistled for Afa and soon went on her way to Kakariko Village. Before she left, Nabooru slipped in a note into her hand and waved Naomi off. Naomi approached Kakariko Village. She rode up to the guard, who blocked her way as soon as he noticed it was a Gerudo. Various Gerudo had plundered Kakariko Village, and he was not willing to allow that to happen under his guard.

"What business have you here?" the guard demanded.

Naomi gave the guard a fiercesome smile. "I have been assigned to come here, by orders of the Sage of Spirit."

The guard tried not to cower under her stern gaze. Clearing his throat to hide his nervousness, he bravely sneered at her. "The Sage of Spirit told you to come here? Ha! Such a foolish excuse. If you can prove it, I'll let you through."

"And if I can't?" Naomi tried.

"I don't let you in. Simple as that." The guard gulped nervously. Glancing into her eyes, his eyes widened when he saw that she was dying for a fight.

"Fine. If my proof is not enough to convince you, then I'm afraid I'll need to take you out." Naomi said, licking her lips and reaching for her sabres.
Naomi gave him the note Nabooru slipped into her hand earlier and watched the guard as he reviewed his carefully.

The guard, while reading the note, was also earnestly looking at Naomi cautiously, just in case she decided to attack. Finally, the guard gave a sigh. The note was proof enough.
"Y-You may come through."

No sooner had he said that when Naomi rushed past him on horseback. As Naomi ignored the stares and gasps she obtained from the townsfolk, she grew more excited by the minute.

'If every race from Hyrule is being summoned here, then it must be more important than I think it is. This...is getting interesting.'

I think I'll give it a shot. Goro.

Name: Torrog

Gender: Male

Species: Goron

Age: 37

Personality: Like any other Goron, Torrog can never get enough sleep, rocks, or rolling. He's a bit dimwitted and goofy, but can be a fierce warrior and even a leader when the need arises. Because of his mother, he is a very devout worshipper of Din.

Description: His father was a Biggoron, and his mother was a Terminian Goron. As a result, he's larger than most Gorons and has retractible spikes that cover his body. Very muscular, but has a large belly like Darunia. Unlike most Gorons, he has completely blue eyes rather than black. He doesn't wear clothing, as it restricts his rolling abilities and he's durable enough without them.

History: Torrog was born and raised in Termina, and lived in Snowhead until he was 22. When a devastating blizzard hit Snowhead upon Ghot's return, Torrog and his mother moved to Hyrule. Torrog's mother became a priestess of the Fire Temple in the Kakariko mountain range where a small Goron tribe existed, and Torrog himself settled down to a quiet life of bomb planting. Unfortunately, this new, happy life could no longer be when 15 years later, Torrog's mother, along with most of the Gorons, fell victim to the Hylian war and the Fire Temple was mostly destroyed. That was one of the last battles in the war, so by the time Torrog learned of this, the war was over and there was nothing he could do. What he did learn was that Princess Zelda was looking for a group of heroes, and he was being summoned by the elder of the tribe...

Weapon: Megaton Hammer

Instrument: None

Equipment: A nearly endless supply of bombs in a Biggoron's Bomb Bag. He recieved the bag from his father before he left Termina.

Other: When rolling rapidly, his body becomes covered in spikes like the Gorons of Termina. He is also skilled in hand-to-hand combat, using a Goron wrestling style. Because of his dedication to Din, he has the ability to cast Din's Fire once before his magic is depleted.

Sample:

Torrog was taken off guard by the elder's summon. His mother hadn't even been buried yet. Nevertheless, he had to respect the wishes of the elder, so up the mountain he trekked. The elder lived on the tallest mountain in all of Hyrule, a mountain which, according to legend, had once been much taller. It was called Death Mountain, but now it was known as Mt. Rebirth because of the plant life which grew on it almost miraculously. It was also home to the Fire Temple, or what was left of it.

Torrog, a skilled mountain climber, reached the top in record time and entered the Elder's chamber, kneeling before him.

"Rise, Torrog," the elder said. "For it is you who will deserve honor if you accept my request."

So the elder had issued the summon to ask him for something. Anything for the elder, he figured.

"What would you want me to do, goro?" He asked.

"Well, young Torrog, it has come to my attention that the Hylian Princess, Zelda, is issuing a summon herself. She wishes for a group of eight powerful heroes, each from a different race, in order to stop a force that may threaten and destroy all of Hyrule. I feel it would be most appropriate if the Gorons, mightiest of all races, were represented in that group. After consideration of all the members in our tribe, I felt you would be most fit for the job."

"Me? But why me, goro?"

"You are the amongst the strongest of our people. It takes a mighty Goron indeed to harvest so many Bomb Plants. More importantly, your father trained you in the way of the warhammer, did he not?"

"I don't mean to brag, goro, but it is my weapon of choice."

"Excellent. I want the Goron representing our tribe to have the ability to wield... this."

Torrog could hardly believe his eyes. Was that the Megaton Hammer? The legendary weapon that had slayed the great dragon Volvagia ages ago?

"I could not accept such an honor, goro."

"But I insist." The elder handed Torrog the hammer, and pointed to a nearby boulder. "Go ahead. Try it out."

Torrog took a swing at the boulder. It shattered like a pane of glass into tiny fragments.

"Wonderful! Now, go forth to Kakariko Village. The heroes should be meeting there.

"What about my mother, goro?"

"We all knew and loved your mother, Torrog. But this is much more important. We'll give her a proper burial when she gets back."

Torrog was hesitant, but the elder was giving him a direct command. "Alright. I'll do it. Goro."

"The tribe is grateful, Torrog. You are doing us a great honor. Now go! There is no time to waste!"

Startled by the tone of this last command, Torrog immediately rolled into a ball and sped down the mountain. He'd be at the village in no time flat.

Side Character: Stryker

Gender: Male

Species: Hylian

Age: 32

Personality: Cold and ruthless, cares about nothing except getting the job done and will cruch anyone who gets in the way. Harbors a great hatred towards all non-Hylian races. He's one of those people who just gives off an aura of menace.

Description: Dressed sort of like from that godawful Disney movie, he stands at about 5'10 and has a slim but well-toned physique. He has a jagged scar across his cheek, brilliant green eyes, and scruffy brown hair hidden under his hat. Not very good dental hygiene.

History: Stryker doesn't like to talk much about his past. He was abandoned by his parents at the age of two, where he was taken up by an orphanage in Hyrule Market Town. He spent his childhood years pickpocketing and swindling, spent a lot of time at the shooting gallery, and he eventually found himself in thee bounty hunting game. He was very good at it- the best in Hyrule. If you wanted someone dead, Stryker was your man to turn to. He had made a lot of money working between sides, assassinating important figures during the war in Hyrule. He bought himself a mansion in Aqita, but was called out of his short retirement for one last job from an unnamed client: Somebody wanted a group of heroes being assembled by Princess Zelda dead.

Weapon: Uses a dagger in close-range combat, but prefers to wield his crossbow.

Instrument: Has been known to play the harmonica from time to time.

Equipment: He has all sorts of equipment back home, but for this particular outing, he has brought a few of his patented heat-seeking Bombchus, a pair of binoculars, his dagger and crossbow, a quiver filled with poison-tipped darts, his harmonica, and his wallet, packed to the brim with rupees supplies by his most recent client.

Other: Skilled with most light weapons, and can intimidate easily. As one of the most wanted men in Hyrule, if you see him, you're probably going to be willing to cooperate with whatever he tells you to do or else your life might end pretty quickly.

Sample: Although the wind was with him, Stryker had been travelling on his sailboat for the better part of the day. It was a long way from Aqita to Outpost City. But he was finally there, and glad for it, too. Stryker didn't like travelling by sea. He was much more comfortable with solid ground beneath his feet. He looked around the once beautiful port at which he had arrived. It looked like... well... a warzone. Which is exactly what the city was not too long ago. Last time he was here, it was on business- some colonel who was enjoying his latest victory at the local pub. It was a simple matter of disguising himself as a waiter and slipping some Deku Plant acid into his drink- nothing special. He was dead minuted after Stryker collected his tip for the "excellent service."

"Oi. Sailor," Stryker said gruffly to a man who had just arrived from Labrynna to deliver some jewelry. "I heard the princess was calling for a group of heroes. Know where she might me?"

"According to today's paper, it'll be in Kakariko Village. Near the old Skulltula place." The newcomer obviously had no idea who Stryker was. Good.

"Thanks, stranger." Stryker headed off to the nearest stable and rented a horse of a red rupee. Soon enough, he was facing Zora River, where his horse came to a stop.

"Oh, come on!" Stryker shouted in anger. Of all the horses in the stable, he had to pick the one that was afraid of getting its hooves a little wet. No wonder it only cost him 20 rupees. The nearest bridge was miles out of the way. For all he knew, he could have missed the assembly by the time he arrived in Kakariko because of this delay. But if he didn't catch them there, he'd catch them later. Stryker had only missed two bounties in his entire career. One he passed up because he was feeling particularly generous, and the other is a different story entirely. This, his final bounty, certainly wouldn't be a third.
