Legendary Birds

I have a question: Are the legendary birds (Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres) really that good? On some sites I've read they're not that fantastic .. And which one of them is the best and worst?

Articuno's the worst of the legendary birds, because pretty much anything that can take Ice Beam and has Rock Slide can take it out. Heck, an Octillery with Rock Blast can take it out! But it does have it's advantages, such as stalling pretty much every water type out there, absorbing Sleep Powder and Spore, and nullifying Snorlax. But it takes some prediction to use correctly.

Zapdos is the best of the legendary birds, because it doesn't have a 4x weakness to Rock types, like the other two do. It has the highest Special Attack stat of all the legendaries, along with Moltres. Send it out with a Special Sponge, and it'll devour an entire team!

Moltres, obviously, isn't as good as Zapdos, but it's better than Articuno. It has the highest Special Attack stat of all the legendaries, along with Zapdos. Use Sunny Day, and it can inflict heavy damage on all kinds of stuff.

well if you want to complete your pokedex, yah gonna have to catch them all anyway

Personally I like all three of them, my friend Mitchell once trained a very powerful Articuno, very few people that fought it could beat it.

If I had to choose one though, I would go with either Zap or Mol due to the fact that I'm primarily a Fire and Electric trainer, but I honestly dont think you can go wrong with any of them along as you train it properly and find a good moveset for it.

I suggest you use them separately and get a feel for each one so you can form your own opinion on which one you feel more comfortable with. You may find that your Articuno is stronger or something like that. Just get some experience using all of them.

Yeah uh, 'Crimson Raven' you posted twice.

I'd go with Articuno as a slow-but-painful-doom pokemon because of its tactical move pool.

If you use these moves (in order) in a hard-to-beat battle you should hav no problems.

Toxic
Reflect
Mind reader
Sheer cold

Usind Toxic to weaken your opponent slowly, then using Reflect to stop any physical sweepers from serious damage then Mind reader to make a sure hit with Sheer cold , then taking down the opponent is simple

Thats only one way. I do prefer using Articuno to Zapdos, but then Moltres is kinda the same.

Zapdos is pretty decent.

Articuno and Moltres are pretty bad though since both have a 4X weakness to rock.

So yeah Zapdos>Moltres>Articuno

i love articuno though. In FR and LG he or it is the perfect pokemon to use against the elite four, especially lance. the only flaw i see is his weakness to rock. he easily gets creamed by aerodactyl he does not have a higher speed level.

yeah use mind reader first then sheer cold. with this combo articuno is one of the best pokemons ever cause it can kill EVERY pokemon in TWO turns ! i have it in lvl. 100

what are the pair of you talking about, any half decent trainer will simply switch out as soon as you use mind reader

Their Stats suck. Moltres better than Zapdos than Articuno

Remember, you only SIP the alchohol, don't down so much like that, you might get hurt.

Their stats are great, however, their movesets suck. That said, Zapdos is not half bad, Articuno is the only Pokemon that can pull off the OHKO move near flawlessly, and Moltres (like Entei) sucks.

Pokemon with sturdy block OHKO's. And when an Articuno uses Mind Reader, you are going to switch to something faster and has Rock Slide such as Aerodactyl. So no not every pokemon dies to Articuno.

Well it all depends on the person raising the pokemon. You could have a mewtwo at level 100,but if you keep its default moveset your gonna get creamed by a houndoom. But thats not the point. The point is the pokemon sucks as much as the trainer does.
