Have always wonder about these 'individual' legendary, cause for the pass seems like legendary usually appears in group that are related. Recently read about the pokedex description translated by coronis. Seems like all the three pokemon are closely related to the environtment, manaphy-water-sea, sheimi-grass-flowerfield, hidoran-fire-volcano, and it is oso the conventional starter type (with exception of an extra steel). wonder if this is how they are related... =P just my speculation, would appreciate ur views, thanks.

It would make a little more sense if they were all in the same classes of legendaries.

You can only get Manaphy and Sheimi in an event while you can get Hidoran in a normal playthrough. Also, Hidoran is much bigger and can come in genders (why though?)

Aside from forming a water/fire/grass combo, they have almost nothing in common with one another.

well yeah, u might be true, but then it might be the trend in this gen? like kruseria and darkrai, they obviously are pairs, cresent feather to cure nightmare, with all stats similar, and oso same level moves, but one is event the other is not. Anyway, just a guess. and the 3 might all be the phantom of this gen ^^

no its not manaphy, manaphy is the voyage pokemon. The pokemon that goes in the trio to my opinion is fione(not considered legandary, kinda)but fione is the ocean pokemon. But thats just me

Velut luna.
Considering Phione has base 80 stats all across the board and will be NU, it really doesn't compare to either Sheimi or Heatran. Manaphy fits better because the three of them have 600 base stats compared to Phione's (lol) 480 base stats. Also, Phione sucks whereas those three don't. That simple.

More to the point, Heatran isn't connected at all to them. Manaphy and Sheimi are both welcome additions to the little legendary 600 club with Mew, Celebi and Jirachi. Heatran is just a cool monster related to nothing. Still, it is my favourite of the new legendaries. ^_^

Wow good thinking. Its all real good in theory but Heatran isnt connected to them.

They're all different. But, some had to stand alone due to the fact that there are 15 legendaries in D/P.

They really do seem to be related to the environment, but since two of them are event Pokemon, and Hiidoran can be gotten in-game, they couldn't really be related. Also, couldn't Hiidoran just be one-of-a-kind?

Off-Topic: The only four legendaries to have genders so far are Latios, Latias, Hiidoran, and Kuresuria. o_O;

The Plot Thickens
Hmm...you're right, but I doubt they are connected. It might have said in the Dex entries if they were.

well actually i dun really mean that they are a trio like the others, but i just mean that they are created as a symbol of the conventional starter type. except for hidoran of fire/steel type, manaphy is pure water and sheimi is pure grass, which is uncommon in the trend of recent legendary. Further more the environment is indeed mentioned in their dex entries unless i saw wrongly =P

Sheimi is pure grass? I could have sworn it was something else...

Also, Hiidoran is the coolest legendary EVER, and doesn't need to be grouped with anybody. Like, y'know, a free spirit or something.

Man, I'm tired. I really should be going to bed...

I don't know, but these are the worst legendaries we have gotten IMO, I miss Lugia and Rayquaza. And I don't know why did they made so much of them.

Legendaries don't all have to be all powerful god things, Heatran could be just a monster in a cave

Well, in japan they have legendary and illusionary pokemon. I guess Hiidoran would go in the second category as a pokemon that doesnt have legendary powers but is strong and hard to find/catch.

But, there is something that makes him related with legends. Hiidoran is together with Aruseus, Darkrai, Sheimi, Diaruga, Parukia, Giradina, Kureseria, Manaphy as "legendarys" with a unique move, based on there powers(Magma Storm, Judgement Pebble, Dark Hall, Seed Flare, Time Roar, Space Break, Shadow Drive, Mighty Guard and Heart Swap respectively).
