Legendary pokemon

How many of each legendary are there? (Not talking about the anime.)

I think there are several of each, because there used to be loads like the other pokemon but died out over time because they couldent reproduce.
And there are the same legendaries on, so there must be several.

I done the same poll on marrilandforums.com and 3 people said
There are several of each legendary pokemon, 0 for 100's of each and 0 for 1 of each.

BUT!!! Mewtwo, there must be only 1 of those, because it only was cloned from Mew once, but it can appear in many games.

slightly off topic: So canonly speaking, I just say its the same Mewtwo just owned by diffrent trainers, and just teleports between pokeballs.

I say there is only one of each.
They are legends and they are unique.

Also, for example Aruseus is the god of Pokémon, Parukia and Diaruga the Pokémon of time and space etc., there can only be one of them.

not nececarly, i agree about the god pokemon, not sure about the time and space pokes, theres more then one of nearly all legendaries, otherise it wouldent make sense, there are the same legends use likein 1st gen and xd, so there are more then one sets of birds.

When it comes to the Psychic Legendaries, I honestly think there's one of each.

Legendary Birds: Multiple (maybe 3-4 of each...we've seen about 4 Articunos throughout the pokemon series). Ho-oh...who knows. Now this is me just presuming: since Ho-oh is like a Pheonix, it may die, but have a baby Ho-oh to take it's place (so a baby Ho-oh never has a parent to take care of it).

Legendary Dogs: One of each. Why? It seems that they are tied to the elements. Raikou with thunder clouds, Suicune with the wind, and Entei with Fire/Volcanos. As long as those elements still exist, so will the dogs.

Everyone else: I honestly don't have an opinion on as of yet.

Who knows? Their could be lots of a Legend Pokemon, but they just don't show themselves to people.

They clearly stated that there were multiple Latios and Latias pairs in the fifth movie I believe.

They showed many Celebi's in the fourth movie.

They also showed 2 Deoxys in the seventh movie

Mew most likely had more than one, but most of them died out.

They showed two Lugia in the series at once.

Team Rocket may have made other Mewtwo before this one, but they all probably died leaving one.

Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, Darkrai, Diaruga, Parukia, and Areseus are definately one offs.

Jirachi is most likely only one. However, there could be tons of Jirachi asteroids out there.

The Regis, Ho-oh, and the legendary beasts are the next closest thing to being one of a kind.

Manaphy could have many by the way the dex makes it sound. Fione could be many of since they can breed.

Sheimi is the same story as Manaphy in my eyes.

It is very dubious that the legendary birds like to go to all these different regions when they were shown in the anime.

I don't know enough about the psychic trio to make an assumtion yet.

I think there are several of each because there was an episode with Multi Lugias. And it's kinda naive to think there's just one. Think of this situation: You have confronted a legiondary. You think there's only one. The one in front of you. You don't think to look behind you, and snap! The second one eats kills you from behind.

There is only 1 Mewtwo, Ho-oh, Celebi, Groudon, Kyogre, Jirachi and Manaphy. The reason that there were lots of Celebi in movie 4 was that they were all the same one. It traveled through time to that time from each time it was in (confusing I know). There is no way of knowing about Deoxys numbers because they are from another planet. Movie 5 had more than one of each Lati at the end.

Well, there is several for the game. But I think it's only 1 for each.

There's evidence for each legendary from the first to third generation that there are multiple of them, except for Mewtwo, who isn't a real legendary.

First, the evidence that is for every legendary:
-There are at least two versions of them, a shiny version and a regular version. How can there be two versions of a Pokémon only one exists of? For Mewtwo, this can be explained: there is a chance that the Mew they cloned Mewtwo from was shiny.
-Death. It is common sence that every animal, including Pokémon, die at some point. Legendaries couldn't still exist today, if they weren't able to breed in some way. Legendaries wouldn't be able to breed if there were only one of them.
-And every legendary has appeared in at least two different games (counting R/S/E as one, etc. and R/G/B/Y/Fr/Lg also as one), except for Mewtwo. All legendaries have appeared in either Colloseum, XD or both and in a handheld game.

Now for the individual Pokémon:
-Birds trio: They have appeared in R/G/B/Y/Fr/Lg and in XD and they were catchable in both. That means that at least two trainers could have them.
Also, multiple Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres have appeared in the anime.
-Mew: In the games, Mewtwo was a child from a Mew. In the diaries there, it is never said that they caught the only Mew, simply that they caught a Mew.
In the anime, Mewtwo was created from a Mew fossil. How can a Mew fossil exist and another Mew still live if there weren't multiple Mew at some time?
Also, in Emerald, which is at the same time as Fr/Lg, a Mew lives on Faraway Island.
And a is owned by someone in Stadium 2.
-Beast trio: They have appeared in Fr/Lg, G/S/C and in Colloseum. They were also catchable in all three, meaning that at least three trainers could own them at some time.
Also, it is said in Entei's Pokédex entry that one is born each time a volcano is born. That means there are at least as many Entei as volcanos. And if there are multiple Entei, there are multiple Suicune and Raikou.
-Lugia: Lugia appeared in G/S/C, XD and the Sevii Islands.
Also, two Lugia appeared at the same time in the anime and another one was at the Orange Islands.
-Ho-oh: Ho-oh appeared in G/S/C, Colloseum and the Sevii Islands. Also, after Colloseum when Ho-oh appears, Eugun says he has never seen one up so close. You only say that when multiple of something exist. It also implies he has seen another one.
-Celebi: one is the protector of Ilex Forest and one is the protector of Agate Forest.
Also, in a Pokémon movie a crapload of Celebi appeared at the same time.
-Regi: one trio appeared in R/S/E, one trio is owned by Brendan of the Battle Pyramid and one trio appears on Mt. Battle in XD.
-Lati@s: they roam around Hoenn, they are owned by someone in Mt. Battle and they are both owned by seperate Frontier Brains.
Also, many of them appeared at the same time in a Pokémon movie.
-Groudon/Kyogre: they appear in Hoenn and are owned by someone on Mt. Battle in Colloseum.
-Rayquaza: it appears in Hoenn and is owned by someone on Mt. Battle.
-Jirachi: it appears in Pokémon Channel and is owned by someone on Mt. Battle in Colloseum.
-Deoxys: Deoxys comes from space. The odds are high multiple of it live up there.
And in a Pokémon movie, two of them appeared at the same time.

But how much of each exists, I don't know.

Also, don't come with the "Mew is the creator of all Pokémon" or "Groudon and Kyogre created the land and oceans" crap, because it is never said anywhere, in neither the games or the anime.

i say,there is one of each ledgendary,but most ledgendarys only live for about 500 years or so,and before they die,they are re-born,like a phoenix.
of course,that wouldn't apply to aruseus,groudon,kyogre,rayquaza,the regis,dialga,palkia.
and i'm sure there's only one deoxys.as the pokedex entry does not say it split into multiple deoxys when it got hit by that beam in space.

I agree with many points there, Groundon didant create the land it was an acient pokemon so he wasant around since the begining of time.

Bird trio- Many sets seen in Kanto atleast 5 sets and 1 set in XD and those eggs in snap.

Mewtwo- The hardest one to explain. They might of cloned more then one, like you said they must of cloned a Mew in r/b/y and a shiney Mew in fr/lg so atleast 2.

Mew- There was the one in Kanto which was extremely rare, and the one in Hoehn, which might be the shiney one, but the Mew in movie 1 is diffrent to the one in movie 7, it sounds different and loves to transform.

Dog trio- Again many sets, the most sets are in the Jhoto region, when one lots runs out of the burnt tower another lot might come in later, and Entei is also owned by a frontier brain.

Lugia/Ho- oh- Again this might be hard, theres more then 1 of each, the protector of Orre, and the many (atleast 3) around jhoto, like with the dogs when they move like get caught or run away beaten another may move in. There are also about 3 located in the sevil islands and a Lugia was probably stolen from Jhoto or Navel rock to create XD002.

Celebi- Its not clear yet, but there may be only a few left like Mew, we no theres atleast 2 so far, the one in the GS ball and the one in Orre at the shrine, and I agree in the movie I think that was the same Celebi aswell from different times.

Regi trio- I belive there are many of these sets residing in the same cave mabey 3 and battle revelution might have them in, also they are owned by a frontier brain.

Lati@s- There has to be loads of these, but most have died like in movie 5, there are mabey 2 of each left.

Groundon/Kyogre/Rayquaza- They are not creators of anything, just masters, like we are at pokemon. So there are a couple of sets only in Hoehn and they were caught by trainers and used in MT. battle. So theres about 2-3 of each I think still in Hoehn

Jirachi- Its realy Unknown about how many Jirachi there might be there might be only 1, more likely it might be more like the others and there has to be a shiney counterpart, but who knows?

Deoxys- We saw 2 in movie 6, so theres more the 1, I'm thinking about 3 or 4 of course it unknown about the space virus that causes them?

Psychic trio- I'm geussing theres more then 1 set, Emurrito seems to be the main one, mabey Nintendo are hinting the 3rd version might be based on it? There are mabey 3 of each. Just a hunch.

Diaruga/Parukia- Again its unknown about ow many there are there might be only 1 of each but probably 2 for their shiney counterpart.

Hiidoran- There a defenetly more then 1 of this badboy, becuase it can also be a bad girl and theres also the shiney boy/girl so theres mabey 3 of these non shiney.

Regigigas- Im geussing theres as many of these as there are sets of Regi, so mabey 4, 5 if you count the frontier leaders 6 for mt. battle trainers. But theres probably less mabey only 4.

Giradina- Theres not enough info, yet mabey theres more then 2 but I can't tell at the moment, probably 3?

Kureseria- It seems likekly also that there are many of these pokemon again i say 3-5.

Fione/Manaphy- There are loads of Fione as we can tell, but only 1 Manaphy? Or 2? The shiney?

Darkrai- It would be thinkable that theres more then 1, the shiney and there are many people who may see this pokemon in their sleep at once so there might be lots.

Sheimi- It seems to be a flower, thats about it, there are probably loads around shinou but trainers dont notice them because of its camaflage abilities.

Aruseus- Sounds like Seuz, anyway its the creation of all pokemon theres only 1, the shiney version might just be it transforming, or there might be 2.

So in conclusion, the Mewtwo of R/b/y was cloned of Mew but in fr/lg it might of been cloned of shiney mew, they might be set after and so they tryed to re-clone mew.

Bird Trio- Theres the trio in the orange islands, a zapdos in johto, and an articuno in kanto. There must be a few of them

Mewtwo-Only one. Unless they cloned another which is unlikely.

Mew-I dont know if the one in movie one is the same as the one in movie 8.

Dog trio-Only one set of these. They were created by ho-oh.

Lugia-Theres 3 of them if im correct. Theres the orange island one and the mother and child one in the whirl islands.

Ho-oh- As far as i know theres one

Celebi-I dont know if the celebi in movie 4 is the same as the one in green guardian so i dont know.

Regis-I think theres a few of them. Theres the trio in movie 8 and the trio owned by brandon

Latis-Must be a lot of those.

G/K/R-i think theres one of each

Jirachi-I think theres one

Deoxys-Theres 2 of them from movie 7 and another from the deoxys episode

Manaphy/Fione-Must be a lot of them if they can breed

Arseus-IOf its a god there must be one
