Legendary vs. common pokemons

What you think about,is legendary pokemons better than other pokemons?
I think that many peoples use legendary pokemons, because they thinks that "My
Lugia is far more powerful than my friends Lanturn"
It is true that usually legendary pokemons have good stats and powerful attacks
like Sacred Fire or Aero Blast.
But if you first breed your pokemons, and train it from 5-level to 100-level,
it gets much experience and stats, what actually can be more than what legendary pokemons can ever get.Like Zangoose can get more attack than Rayquaza, but Rayquaza has better defenses etc.
But that Zangoose still can beat that Rayquaza.Maybe Zangoose is little bad example, because it's defense is so poor.Back that Lanturn,it has quite good
special defense and defense.Plus it has quite good special attack.I guess that it can beat many legendary pokemon easily,if you use it right.
So I think that these common pokemons, are maybe actually better than legendaries, but I still use both of them.

What you think about it?Are legendaries better,or not?

Sorry,if this kind topic was here before.I'm new here,so I can't remember that kind things.I checked some old post, and I can't find this kind topic,so if there is sam kind topic, forgive me :(

Well as you say, the legendarys do tend to have much better states but that doesn't always mean that they are better in battle.

If you do train your pokemon right (get the right nature, IV's and moveset), and train it to a fairly desent level. Then you can beat them without much effort (after all the effort you put into getting your pokemon this far)

I like and dislike both Common and Legendary Pokemon

Dislike
Legendaries: Used way too much
Common Pokemon: Some are useless

Like
Legendaries: Some are cool and very powerful
Common Pokemon: They could be very powerful if you train them well (Well...Some, if you train a Magikarp and put your hard work all into it it'll be completely useless)

If I'd choose between Legendary and Common Pokemon I'd choose Common Pokemon

Of course legendary Pokemon are going to be better than common Pokemon, but some Pokemon can be just as good if trained well and given the right movesets.

I prefer common pokemon (which doesn't include borderline legendaries like Metagross and Tyranitar) because they seem more unique with strengths and weaknesses

I sometimes use legendaries in-game to feel cooler than whatever AI trainer I'm against. ;o I remember I'd make a team in my old Gold version consisting of my Lugia, Ho-oh, Mew, Suicune, Raikou and Entei just to flash it about to in-game trainers that didn't care, hehe.
Either wait, it's a nice feeling to use your self-caught legendaries (of course, Mew wasn't one of those here) when you've spent time looking for them (Entei, Suicune and Raikou) and time / effort catching them without Master Balls.

Yeah,I know what you mean. But it is good feel too, when you train your little Mudkip to big powerful Swampert, and it wins often. Then I am usually little proud, especially when I battle against friends.
Thats why I normally use more common pokemons, but I use legendaries too, because some of them are enought powerful to me and are cool (like Ho-oh and Rayquaza)
I have noticed that some peoples use "only" legendary pokemons in their team,because they don't like train something 5-level pokemon to 78.That is strange.;202;

You can argue that some legendaries are useless, too. Namely Registeel, Entei, and pre-XD Articuno.

Good point Rudoku!
I find same thing too.And I think that all Regis are little or more useless.
I never used them really.I tried train them, but they are very hard train. And my friend who uses Regis, battled against me,and I beated them very easily, without type advantage.Entei is very useless too.

Common pokemon are much better, because of versatility, which gives you the element of surprise. Spiking, thunderwaving then destiny bonding qwilfish is a great example. However, legendaries have no surprise at all. All lugias tank, all groudons sweep, etc. Whereas pulling a dugtrio on a raikou is very fun indeed.

Legendary pkmn (or 'Ubers' as some ppl call them) are WAAAY too... *thinks of word* predictable. you also can't breed them to get the right nature. sure, you can keep catching them until you get the right nature, but if you have already used your master ball this can be annoying. If you train common pkmn from level 5 and max out their EVs early then they get to go up more levels and get more stats.

(started by SapphireL --->) If you use commons more, copy and paste the para in my sig into yours. (i may have rayquaza on my TC, but thats just cos it looks cool)

My team working together can defeat 3 legendarys my brother uses with their decent movesets. The only problem is he uses all legendarys, and my greatly weakened team can't survive long enough.

Legendaries are cool and all, but I like common Pokemon. They seem to have more personality. And from what I've read, the Regis are meant to be tanks rather than sweepers. It was still fun kicking their lifeless boring a*ses with my Lanturn, Skarmory, and Donphan though.

Both of them are very powerful. But I like more common pokemons, because they have often some special skills, like Shedinja's wonder guard,Shuckle's incredible defense and special defense etc.
When I was young,I thought that legendary pokemons are best and so on,but after some years,I noticed that common pokemons are very good and powerful too.

I find legendaries unfathomably soporific. WOO THEYRE RARE AND POWERFUL AND YOU NEED TO TRAVEL TO NEW YORK TO GET SOME OF THEM! And it ends there. You only get one unless you reset your game, and you can't even breed them for good natures or the like. How tiresome. ;[

Common Pokemon wield the pizazz that legendary Pokemon wish they could muster.

I always liked the common Pokes more, since I was really bad about catching Legends on my first times. But even now, I don't use them too often. Aside from Lugia in Silver, but I used it more for the coolness factor. And in Emerald I only got the Regis, even after finishing the League (and I'm only using Registeel, for contest purposes). A legendary can be strong or weak; it depends mainly if the player is skilled or not.

And slightly off-topic: What happened to Articuno in XD, exactly? He is my favorite Bird legendary, and the fact he sucked competitively saddened me.

Jirachi can be beaten by a non-legendary quite easily. Oh and ubbers don't equal legendary pokemon.

Legendaries are initially more powerful but if you train a Pokemon from a low level, it will eventually have better stats. Most legendaries have the ability "Pressure" also.
