Hitmonlee Lv.40
Trait:Limber
Nature:Jolly
-Meditate [/Endure]
-Brick Break [/Reversal]
-Earthquake
-Rock Tomb [used rockslide on marowak already. shall be fixed later on once i get emerald]

Marowak Lv.42@Thick Club [when i can get it]
Trait:Rock Head
Nature:Adamant
-Bonemerang
-Rock Slide
-Headbutt [to be Double-Edge]
-Leer [to be Swords Dance]

Exeggutor Lv.43
Trait:Chlorophyll
Nature:Serious [the only modest ones i've so far managed to get are females, i kept this male one for its good speed IV to breed later]
-Sunny Day
-Solarbeam
-Psychic
-Sleep Powder
purely in my team to take out agatha. sunny day and hope i hit first and take out the entire team in five psychics

Raichu Lv.48
Trait:Static
Nature:Lonely
-Thunderbolt
-Thunder Wave
-Quick Attack
-Strength [ugh. replace this with Light Screen to support the rest of the team?]

Fearow Lv.49
Trait:Keen Eye
Nature:Adamant
-Drill Peck
-Return
-Fly [i know, i know]
-Thief [again, just a utility move. i use it to try and get thick clubs]
basically just use the first two moves.

Vaporeon Lv.53
Trait:Water Absorb
Nature:Calm
-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Acid Armour
-Baton Pass
my favourite of this team. boosts defenses to pass to my more fragile pokes [most of them]

no items listed [other than for marowak] as i only have two leftovers at the moment and will just attach them to the two pokemon i am most likely to use in each particular elite four battle. i guess my levels are a bit low as well. hitmonlee was a sort of spur of the moment addition, feel free to replace him with something else. likewise raichu should maybe be replaced with magneton of something. i'd forgotten how much harder this elite four is than the one in ruby/sapphire, where practically everything falls to a combination of boltbeamers and half-decent physical sweepers with shadow ball.

yeah i know about the boltbeam weak, it's pretty sucky. i was thinking about trying to fit muk or weezing onto there somewhere, [possibly for fearow?] but i don't really want to be using all the good move tutors/tms before the elite four. and movepoolwise i don't know if they'd be that useful under those conditions. but i know the team is somewhat lacking defensively.
after i get past lorelei i don't believe there's any further bolt or beam users though.

[note. i seem to be becoming obsessed with certain pokemon the instant they appear in my member status pic. strange]

IIRC, some of Lance's Dragons use BoltBeam.

Snorlax will help you team out greatly, and his moveset you don't need any move tutors

go with this:

Snorlax@leftovers
Sassy Nature
-Body Slam/return/double edge
-Curse
-Rest
-Shadow Ball

Why use Sassy when you can use Careful?
No sence does that make. You aren't using the Special Attack stat, but you may as well keep some speed on it... lol
Careful>Sassy

my starter was charmander. charizard gets killed by pretty much anything.

curselax would have required breeding, which i wouldn't have access to the first time round. also, i fainted both of them because i'm only really going through this game to get pokedex entries for stuff i missed out the last two times, and brick break/shadow ball Tms. i may use that snorlax in my proper game tho. which trait would you recommend for him?

Maybe you should still stick with the Modest natured Executor. You can always train up others later. Charizard, though it does have a 4x weakness to rock, is quite helpful against some of the elite 4. Its flying moves can decimate bruno, one equipped with Earthquake can make short work of Electric or Rock type pokemon.

Another suggestion is to have a Dodrio over Fearrow, and to use the Legendary birds. Zapdos and Moltres, if trained to high levels, can sweep easily. Lapras and Articuno can destroy Lance.
