how do you get the light ball, i know you can find one by a pikachu but are there any other way

1) find it on a wild pikachu in the R/S/E safari zone

2) download a pikachu at JAA (now nearly over), since it comes with a light ball.

sadly no but on emerald to find a light ball on a pika easier ether have a pokemon with static in the front of your party or a pokemon with compoundeye in the front (static raises chance of finding electric types/ compoundeye makes you find wild hold items very common)

If you don't attend JAA, go to the safari zone with a pokemon that has static first in your party. You will almost always find pikachu. Catch them and when you are finished chaack all of them for light balls. Repeat if you still don't have one. The static trick only works in emerald, so if you have R/S you will need to just look for pikachu and catch as many as you can.

Acually an easy way to get it is eighter in emerald have a electrike with static or a nincada with compound eyes.Static makes it so you have a 50/50 chance of find wild electric pokemon where you are but compound eyes make it so it doubles the chance for it to hold a item.I would choose electric because u will find more pickachus and probally find a lightball with in 10 min.

also, do these abilities have the same powers on FR/LG, such as flame body decreasing the egg steps?

NO, I don't think there is another way to find a light ball. The only way you can catch a light ball is by catching a pikachu(i think)

Pikachu are rare in the Safari Zone, and finding one witha Light Ball is even more rare.

and yeah, Flame body does help cut the Egg Steps.

no. the added effects of synchronize/flame body/static/compoundeyes and so on only work on emerald.

Theres 2 ways, 1. Catch aload of pokemon untill you find one, or 2. Get a pokemon thats knows steal or the other moves that can steal items from wild pokemon, Personally i think the 2nd way is much better than the first.

I have a Light Ball. I found it by luck, in my Ruby/Sapphire version.

Off Topic: Why do items disappear when they are traded? (like Deepseascale/deepseatooth attached to a Clampearl) I KNOW that Clampearl evoles with those items, I'm not stupid. But why did they have to make them disappear? Now I have to beat my back-up game just to get that item back...*kills stupid pokedex* WHY MUST I COMPLETE YOU! lol
