So this contributes to the fact that is a special, and not a normal episode then.

Then I'm a man of misinformation which is weird cause I coulda sworn it was a double air.

Ignore my last post.

EDIT: Went ahead and deleted it myself.

A little odd that Serebii is treating this episode (881) as a normal episode while Bulbapedia is treating this episode (SS033) as a special episode. I guess both parties have their reasons.

If you look at Bulbapedia's talk page for the article, you'll see that it's just one person that's overly insistent on it without providing any kind of actual reasoning, while everyone else agrees it's a standard episode.

Just ignore their silliness. This is only confusing because one person went out of his way to make it so.

It's not a special in any way. The whole one-hour package is called a 'special', but the Pikachu episode in itself is not a special episode.

I was smiling the entire episode. And I loved how Hawlucha was Pikachu's stunt double. And it was great to see male Pikachu get to play dress up(Something I think the games should do for Libre and Rockstar) and Super Pikachu was an amazing outfit, wish that was a real one.
It was also fantastic to see Libre and his minions get blasted off due to lack of the beloved TRio.
And the gag reel was hilarious, favorite one was Ash putting Hawlucha's outfit on upside down.

What are the odds that Clemont added the blast off to the script? I'd say pretty high.

We're time traveling to the past once more, unless Serena lost interest in her Eevee for a while.

Any minute now, TR will try to steal all of the Pikachu.

Yes, any minute now...

...What creepy universe is this?!

I like how the director doesn't really say anything about his departed wife. Makes me think that wedding was for him and his Pikachu. That woman was just the Pikachu's best woman. Also, he clearly has a huuuuuge fetish for Pikachu the likes Ash will never reach... Maybe.

The bloopers were pretty good. But they'll be ruined when they notice Pikachu got buff during that jump...

Anime Ikue Otani spotted!

(It's still weird how we got this episode so suddenly. The Hoopa movie is not even on the schedule for today so I thought it was going to be a special presentation before the movie...)

I have to admit. It was an interesting ep.
As a film major, it was nice to see some of the elements in the episode about filming and video editing, voice acting, etc. The blooper reel was a surprise. Every now and then XY will crank out a gem or two.
But man, even the dialogue in the Pika film was cheesy.

I thought it was a cute episode on the side. It's nice to see the cosplay Pikachu crew, all given a neat personality.

When the director guy was giving his background history, pretty subtle hint that his wife passed away. XY's been pretty solid with a few realistic elements.

Hawlucha as Pikachu's stunt double was fitting.

I'm pretty sure having that smoke from Weezing is bad... oh well!

The Pikachu dubbing during the final movie presentation was hilarious. And of course the bloopers were great, albeit cheesy.

It's a very cute episode. All those Pikachus were quite adorable. Nice showcase of Cosplay Pikachu. Interesting to hear Ash's Pikachu have a voice other than just "Pika Pika," even if it was supplied by a voice actor. I wonder if that's what Pikachu would sound like if he could talk.

Honestly the script to the movie made me cringe. The title was terrible and the plot wasn't much better. Dialogue was poor but it was kinda cute to see the Pikachu actually talking to each other. And did they seriously give the bad Pikachu a Team Rocket style blast off. Seriously. Not sure why they added the bloopers but it was a nice way to conclude the episode.

Frank throwing the word Pika into every sentence (what on earth is Pika CGI) was really really irritating. Seriously the only one who should be using the word Pika in every sentence is Pikachu.

The episode also lacked a point of tension or a major problem for Ash and friends to have to deal with, which is usually provided in the form of Team Rocket. It's odd that despite it being an episode full of Pikachu Team Rocket didn't show up. I kinda wish they had, it would have made it that much more interesting.

Hawlucha as Pikachu's stunt double was fitting.

I can't work out why Pikachu needed that stunt double. Pikachu's made bigger jumps than that. Mind you Hawlutcha's Pikachu costume was cute so...

When the director guy was giving his background history, pretty subtle hint that his wife passed away. XY's been pretty solid with a few realistic elements.

I'm not actually sure what the point of his dead wife's 5 second appearance was. Mentioning or implying that certain characters have died is nothing new to the anime - In the Original Series Flint tell Ash directly that Brock's mother passed away. You'd think Frank would have been married to one of his Pikachus.

This was an ok episode. It was nice to see a movie get made as well as seeing the final product. The director's very unhealthy obsession with Pikachu was too strange for me though.
