Link Battle Team

Ditto.

Master
This is currently my team used for OU Link Battling. Ive had 10 battles so far with it and have lost only once.

Skarmory: Careful
Ev's 252 Hp/ 252 Def/ 6 Speed
Attacks:
Spikes
Roar
Toxic
Drill Peck

This is a terrific starter because he can pull of spikes quickly giving me an early advantage. Before anyone comments on his nature I understand impish is generally recommended, but realisticly people who know what their doing don't attempt to attack with physicals and use thunderbolts/surf etc. while taking him down.

Heracross: Adamant
Ev's 252 Atk/ 252 Speed/ 6 Hp
Attacks:
Megahorn
Sword Dance
Rock Slide
Brick Break

Standard Heracross for the most part. Makes a great number 2 man in my opinion because he is to valuable and needs to see what my opponent begins with to prevent starting against Something with the advantage.

Claydol: Relaxed
Ev's 236 Hp/ 136 Atk/ 108 Def/ 30 Sp Def
Attacks:
Rapid Spin
Ice Beam
Earthquake
Rest

The tank of the group. Is terrific for switching into earthquakes and can use rest effectivly since I have a cleric.

Chimeco: Calm
Ev's 196 Hp/ 62 Def/ 252 Sp Def
Attacks:
Yawn
Heal Bell
Psychic
Reflect

O no what on earth is a chimeco doing in overused :O. Well this little fellow gets a bad rep due to the fact theirs better clerics out their but people to often underestimate him. He's on my team due to the fact he's my favorite pokemon so I try to build a solid team around him to make him work. Yawn buys him a free turn which is crucial because he can't take many hits. Next I use heal bell or reflect. I chose reflect over light sceen because his def is not as good as his Sp Def. Although fragile if you proceed with caution he can do okay for himself.

Blaziken: Jolly
Ev's 252 Atk/ 252 Spd/ 6 Hp
Attacks:
Sword Dance
Sky Uppercut
Rock Slide
Overheat

My skarmbliss counter. He has been really successful against curselax because most people don't switch out trying to KO him with eartquake but get outrun and 2KO with Sky Uppercut.

Metagross: Adamant
Ev's 252 Atk/ 159 Def/ 96 Sp Def
Attacks:
Agility
Earthquake
Meteor Mash
Sludge Bomb

Standard Metagross. I have recieved criticism from fellow Metagross users due to my EV Spread. However this spread is actually very effective and has worked for me.

This is why I said I recieved criticism for my spread. I won't disagree with you on how important speed is for it to work, but the def allows multiple agilities to work. Just a nice change from the standard. Any opinions on the rest of my team?

Putting Yanma on this team is far to risky. I already have chimeco as the fragile one of the group. Besides Yanma is for UU, and I already am taking a risk using chimeco so your suggestion really wouldn't work. As for your statement on the roars/whirlwinds I have Skarm to roar, but the spikes are just their for annoyance. My Skarm has done very well lately as a toxic shuffler.

the yanma suggestion was just a fun joke though haha, yea the spikes will hurt on the switch battles anyways.

On a serious note though, my slaking and snorlax were owned by a yanma on smogon once. I was very upset, haha.

Lol I thought you were joking. What the hell were you doing staying in against yanma. 99% of Yanmas are endure/reversers. Your Snorlax and Slaking have paid dearly for your mistake tisk tisk. But anyways back on subject. Any constructive criticism?

Well, that's obvious, but that doesn't mean keeping Skarmory against special attackers. If you use Impish, its still possible to get the same amount of special defense while still having a higher defense (math, anyone?)

Metagross makes a better lead IMO, nd Raikou is REALLY a problem, since most link-up Raikous have CM/TB/Crunch/Reflect or Sub. Crunch is slightly more powerful than Hidden Power and Claydol isn't gonna wall it
