Link between Skarmory and Bayleef?

Heh, I noticed that a long time ago... But didn't think much of it. I just think that particular shape was a cool design and they decided to use it for both Pokémon. No relation whatsoever, I'm afraid.

This is pretty much as useless as saying marill and gyarados have a link as they are both blue in colour :/

Just a bit of unoriginality in the design. It doesn't mean the two Pokemon are related in any way...
What do you expect some kind of Crane and a miniature Brachiosaurus to be? Sisters? ;3

Mayb Skarmory uses it to attract in prey or lure in bayleafs 2 feed apon.
OR Not!
U could say the same for Apom and Skitty have similar tail shapes!
Clefairy and jigglypuff 4 both being pink, cute (well not clefairy its freaky looking) and basically giant heads with arms and legs.
Mayb they was designed by the same guy.

THAT has got to be the silliest thing I've ever seen. First off, Aipom and Skitty DO NOT have the same tail shape, Clefairy is Flesh-colored, not pink. And of course they were designed by the same person!

Anyway, there really isn't a significant link between Bayleef and Skarmory, just laziness in the character designs.

mabe later in 4th gen or higher the will make somthing bigger about the? just a guess but probaly wont happen.

They both have that and they're both Johto Pokemon... that's almost all they have in common. Interesting find though.

It's just a hole in a part of their body. Doesn't mean laziness, it just means they wanted a similar distinguishing feature for both pokemon. It is meant to show that both Skarmory & Bayleef have a battle scar to emphisize that they are tough fighters. Wartortle & Clefairy have the same marks on their cheeks, yet noone goes on about it.
