Well I just bought a GBA to GB Link Cable so I can trade over my Colo/X D Pokemon to my Emerald. So I save at the Pokemon center then connect my Link Cable to my GBA and my GB and it says that the cable is not connect and it won't let me trade. Can someone tell me what I did wrong?

I don't think Emerald works with Colo. But Colo should tell you that there's a wrong cartridge, not a bad cable connection.

Try cleaning the contacts on each end?

I think you need to complete Coloseum and XD to trade to the gba games. Did you complete the games?

Try to hold it in, push it in as hard as you can, anything to keep the connection. I don't think it's you that's messing up, I think it's the cable. If nothing works, just take it back and get another.

I tried to push it in but i dosen't work.I bought 2 cables and they both don't work!?!??

Out of curiosity, what kind of Gamecube/Game Boy Advance cables are you using? The official ones, or some third-party knockoff (like Pelican)? Also, are you plugging the cable into the first controller port on your Gamecube, or one of the others?

This is why you buy offical Nintendo-certified link cables.

yeah, put the cable in slot 2, and make sure that in the gba pak, you saved in a pkmn center!

You have to be doing something wrong. Both cables shouldn't screw up. Tell us everything you do.

Hmmm...the only thing I can think of...
Are you turning off the gameboy before trying to trade?
If you don't, it won't work, either.

As long as the game requirements (National dex, beat Evice/Greevil, Fix Machine) have been met, the process is easy.

Save the GBA game in a pokemon center.
Turn the GBA off.
Plug in the cable securely
Go to Phenac city, pokemon Center basement level.
Follow on-screen instructions.

If that doesn't work, then the cables have a problem.

Ok i have had the same prob
question: where did u get the game cable
and
how much did it cost
if it was in some low cost shop OR of the internet an it cost next to nothin it may be a faulty cable
i had the same problem an i had to buy three or four before i got a good one.
WARNING always shop around before you buy equipment....

I saved at the pokemon center in my Saphire then I put my cable in the GBA and then the GC. I go to the trade place upstairs in the Pokemon Center and go to the lady that lets you trade. Then on on my Coloseum I go under the Phenac City Pokemon Center and go to that Lady that lets you trade. Then it says, Connect a Game Boy Advance system with a GBA Pokemon Game Pak to Controller Socket 2 using a GCN-GBA cable and turn on the power. But I did all that.
