Looking back, should Corphish have evolved?

CyberCubed

Yeah, ok!
Corphish was one of the funniest and best Pokemon Ash owned in the entire series, let alone AG. It was awesome during Hoenn, and while we didn't see it as much in Battle Frontier, it still had some important battles, (Tucker, Anabel, and in the TR tournament).

Considering now Corphish is dumped at Oaks and who knows when the hell Ash will use it again, looking back, do you think the writers should have evolved it around mid-Battle Frontier so it would be a Crawdaunt with some possible new attacks before Anabel?

One thing that Ash's AG team had was nearly all fully evolved Pokemon. Looking back at Sceptile at the end of AG and then Treecko at the beginning of AG makes you realize how much that Pokemon went through and you actually feel real growth with its character and its power.

Should Corphish have evolved sometime in mid-Battle Frontier, or do you prefer it the way it is?

One thing I see is we're barely going to see Corphish ever again for the rest of the shows duration, so I really wouldn't have minded seeing Ash with Crawdaunt to end AG with.

Lil Brother

Just kinda there.
Yeah, I think he should have. We hardly saw any of Corphish in BF anyway, since he kept on getting overshadowed by his evolved teamates. An volution would have assured more screentime for him and given a sense of completion. Plus it would have been time better spent than Weavile or Perap fillers.

Corphish evolving would have been a heckuva lot better than that Crawdaunt filler. >>

I always thought that Crawdaunt showing up was foreshadowing a Corphish evolution, since the writers almost always showed the evolved forms first in AG to hint that a Pokemon owned by the main gang was going to evolve. (They did it with Grovyle, Combusken, Donphan, Beautifly, Ludicolo, etc.)

Odd that it never happened. Then again I thought May being so impressed with Lillian's Espeon was going to foreshadow an evo for her Eevee, and that never happened either. Better that one didn't though, I want to see her with one of those D/P evo's. :x

Clearly we're great!
It still could. Remember Phanpy.

M-m-m-m-onobear?!
But...but...Corphish is so LOVEABLE as it is now.

True, it doesn't really matter if we'll rarely see it again, but still. Its main appeal, in my opinion, is the fact that it is a tiny badass, similar to Bulbasaur but more comical. I just can't see Crawdunt capturing that awesomeness, no matter how well it'd complete the "Ash's AG captures will all end up fully evo'd" pattern. Actually, it's kind of nice that the writers didn't make it COMPLETELY predictiable like that. What's the fun in wondering "when" more than as "if", eh?

Or maybe I just like Corphish too much to let it change. :(

Almighty Zard

He has returned.
considering it lost to a chansey in it's last battle(which is embarrising, considering the caliber of opponents he faught up till that point.) i say take the gloves off and do it, then go back to that pokemon center and pop that girly pokemon's head of it's shoulders in retaliation.

I like Crawdaunt but I'm glad Ash didn't make it evolve. Corphish is super the way it is.

If Corphish evolved during AG, then Ash would have had a set of fully evolved Pokemon that were caught in Hoenn, except for Torkoal.

Uh yeah, we all know that. The question is do you think Corphish SHOULD have evolved around mid-Battle Frontier?

I wanted Corphish to evolve. It could still be the comical yet important part in Ash's team. Also, Ash's pokemon would all be evolved (as everyone knows) and because of that, it could show that Ash has become a more stonger trainer being capable of handling a team all made up of evolved pokes (I mean Sceptile, Swellow, Torkoal, Glalie, and Donphan are already on their highest forms, Pikachu is evolved one stage, so why couldn't Corphish evolve and still keep its personality?).

So yeah, Corphish evolving would've been awesome. I really do hope it pulls off a Kingler in a league (Shinou or filler league, just some sort of league).

CyberCubed

Yeah, ok!
People didn't want Combusken to evolve either...but most people liked Blaziken.

We only saw it for 2 episodes though. -_-

I'm agreeing this, Torchic had to evolve muuuuuuuuuch earlier... Then we had a Blaziken also earlier.

And i also whant a Crawdaunt... But i like Crawdaunt more for Brock or something.

I liked Corphish out of all the other water pokemon he has had. It so matched his personality. The fiestyness that both of them had. I was very anxious to see it evolve. Too bad though. For some reason, none of his water pokemon was evolving.
