Lost Horizon: An MMO Isekai RPG

Dragalge

"Orange" Magical Girl
Throwing my WIP in for now.

Name: Priscilla Seinford
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Appearance:

Priscilla is a white-colored woman whose height clocks at six feet. To coincide, her weight is at 159.2 pounds as well as Priscilla's overall physique being skinny. Her hair reaches down to her neck and the hair color is a light brown. Priscilla's eye color is blue and she wears small, silver-colored heart-shaped earrings. Finally, she wears contact lens on her eyes and wears a bit of mascara on her eyelashes.

For clothes, Priscilla's usual getup is rather simple with nothing flashy going on in her attire. Priscilla wears a red sweater with a two pink stripes on the near-bottom with the size of them around medium length. Additionally, Priscilla wears blue jeans with a black belt around the waist of the jeans. Finally, her socks and footwear consist of plain white socks and brown-colored shoes with black shoelaces.

Personality:

Priscilla is a rather overcautious person who worries about a lot of things in life. This can range from cleaning her hands often to being initially skeptical of other people aside from her family and friends before opening up to them. Additionally there are at times where she will overstock on certain items like food or even makeup until she is certain that she is well-prepared. Priscilla will even read Terms of Use pop-ups for things such as video games and other online services rather than just skipping the text and clicking "OK" immediately. Because of this, Priscilla may come off as cold to others when they first meet her.

In spite of that, Priscilla is rather friendly to those she opens up with and deeply cares for the ones she loves. While not the most intelligent student, Priscilla is an average B student and makes sure to not procrastinate when doing school assignments. Of course, at times she will constantly ask her professors if the assignments are really genuine and do not have any trick questions, tying into her overcautious self. In addition, she loves to read books, making her a bookworm and is even working on writing a novel herself.

Background:

Priscilla was born into a family with her parents, two older sisters, and two younger brothers. As a child, she first got into video games from her second-oldest sister whom, alongside her second youngest brother, would play together at the age of six. It was also at this time where Priscilla started to wear glasses too. One afternoon, at the age of ten, Priscilla and her relatives were playing outside with each other when she discovered a tarantula in her backyard. Not knowing what it was, she went closer to it and the tarantula went into its attack stance and bit Priscilla. After Priscilla recovered from that incident, she started to be more weary in her surroundings as the days went by in her childhood alongside a fear of arachnophobia.

When middle school came, Priscilla starting to be more reserved than normally, distancing herself from other students in her classes. Even in group projects, she would often have trouble speaking to her classmates when it came to accomplishing assignments. In spite of this, she was still open with her family and could talk to them easily. This quietness started to than atrophy once she got into eight grade after her parents encouraged her to talk more in school. Priscilla followed through her parents advice and was able to make a friend named Mindy who would always try to talk to talk to her before. Mindy even went to the same high school as Priscilla and remained friends since.

During Priscilla's high school days, she gradually became more open but, at times, was a nuisance to her teachers. Not because of being noisy in class but constantly asking if there would be no trick questions on exams. In tenth grade, after feeling sick and blaming in on a school lunch she ate, Priscilla began bringing her own lunches as a precaution so she would not get sick from them again. Despite the lunches being just plain sandwiches and water, Priscilla did not mind as she felt it was enough to get through the day while feeling it would help save on food-related expenses. On a more positive note, Priscilla was able to switch to contact lens and was thrilled to not having to wear glasses anymore as she would constantly clean them to ensure they were not dirty.

The eleventh grade came and she started to visit online communities as a way to hopefully meet new players after Mindy recommended her to visit a forum in relation to a video game both started playing recently. This game was known as Lost Horizon and was an insanely-popular MMO but before joining, Priscilla read the entire Terms of Use just to be sure nothing unsavory would happen. Every day, Priscilla, Mindy, and a few other new friends she made in school would play on it. She wanted to be Madam Quixoticle but a typo accidentally made her in-game name Madamt Quixoticle instead. Initially furious by it, she just stuck with it despite her friends teasing the grammatical error.

After graduation, university came but none of her friends went to the same university she did. In addition, the Lost Horizon forum she went shut down after many people favored Discord more. Priscilla was only able to still be in contact with Mindy who still played Lost Horizon. School assignments were a first priority so she spent less time on Lost Horizon as she did in high school but it was still something she enjoyed playing to this day.

In-Game Avatar Sign-up

You are currently trapped in the body of your in-game Lost Horizon avatar, which may be similar or totally different from your real-world self.

Name: Madamt Quixoticle (the t in Madamt is intentional)
Age: 28
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Weapon Type: Staff
Appearance:

Unlike her appearance in real life, Priscilla' clothing is somewhat more regal in looks but other features have simple differences such as her eye color. Her hair color is blonde as opposed to light brown and is in a ponytail. Additionally, her eye color is green but her weight is merely a pound less but still keeping the skinny physique. Mascara is still present although she has no contact lens as her vision is better in the MMO. Finally, her skin color is no different than that of hers in the real world. On her forehead, Priscilla wears a gold-colored headpiece emblazoned with symbols of two birds.

Priscilla's clothing in Lost Horizon consists of a blue dress down to below her knees. on this dress had fluffy black cuffs around the wrist and flounce area of the dress. Priscilla's dress also has a few azure-colored flower designs on the right side resembling that of roses. A necklace shaped that of a blue teardrop is also worn around Priscilla's neck alongside. Black socks that reach above her ankles alongside black ghillies consist of her footwear. Finally, she has a brown sheath Priscilla carries to hold her staff.

In-Game Persona:

Priscilla, in Lost Horizon, still has some of her wariness over in this game but otherwise acts more prim and blunt. Here, Priscilla will criticize anyone she deems as showcasing improper etiquette. There have been at times where Priscilla would even wack anyone with her staff for those showing poor formalities. While Priscilla does not have a fear of arachnophobia in this world, she still does not like it whenever she gets dirty and thus, takes great care of her appearance as to not dirty it. Priscilla does not, however, dislike Beastskin and Ogres for their looks, knowing that she expects that they are not like Humans or Lilliput in terms of appearance.

In spite of her bluntness, Priscilla cares greatly for those that show proper form in her presence. That said, she can get riled up at times when people poke fun at her misspelled username. Priscilla deeply wants the best for everyone and acts blunt to others in hopes that they can improve their self-being. She comes off as harsh, maybe a bit too much at times, but overall is not the person to just cast anyone off unless they show that they are beyond redemption.

In the current situation involving being trapped in Lost Horizon, Priscilla is not scared of the circumstances that have ensued. She feels that if she tried to rush for a solution, it would only put her in a potentially dangerous situation immediately, especially since she has no idea what to do. Still, Priscilla is feeling a bit adventurous and is curious about what else is going on in the situation that has occurred.

Metallic Wonder
Deleted my SU and started over.

Name: Rachel Seo-Yeon (often goes by Rae)
Age: 17
Gender:
Female

Appearance: Rae is cursed to a life on the shorter size of the spectrum, peaking at a shy 5'3", somehow enhanced by her stature as she tends to keep a relatively modest composture. She has a slim physique with little to no chest to speak of, even though she looks somewhat larger due to the kind of clothing she normally wears. Her skin is pale and has an olive complexion, while being blemish free save from her light sprinkle of freckles. She has narrow dark brown eyes and thin eyebrows, framed in by a pair of square-framed glasses. Her black hair is naturally straight and goes to right under her shoulders, and she has straight bangs, ending just under her eyebrows. Rae is very low-maintainance when it comes to her overall appearance, and she doesn't wear makeup unless for formal occasions.

Rae does not care about clothing or fashion one bit, and would much rather prefer to just use whatever she feels the most comfortable in. Caught in between dressing for herself and wearing whatever her parents gets her, she hasn't established much of a fashion sense yet either, which further alienates the concept for her. Her favorite hoodie and the one she wears the most is a pastel yellow one with the phrase "Live, Laugh, Nerd" on it. Under it she normally just wears a plain T shirt or a modest button-up shirt. She wears a plain knee-lengt skirt, and white thigh high socks. She also wears a par of oddly pro running shoes in a brown-ish color that wants to be beige but just can't get there.

Personality: The first thing that you'll notice about Rae is that she has in fact been standing here for like 15 minutes but you just didn't see her. It's ok though, she doesn't mind. She's very shy, and dislikes when she's the center of attention, having a habit of just sort of shutting down and starting to mumble if she's put on the spot. She's ok with letting other people do all the talking and planning so that she can just sort of go along with others. Obviously not the sociable sort, Rae is the most comfortable either alone or with a select few friends doing something she enjoys. Focusing less on socializing and other people in general, Rae spends more time on her schoolwork and hobbies. As such, she's very knowledgable about a variety of gaming or obsucre animes and its lore, as well as more everyday things she learns in school. She's oddly practical, and seems to have an answer for most situations.

As mentioned, Rae's hobbies tends to be the more isolating ones, considering how she enjoys her time spent alone rather than socializing. She has an eye for art, and wants to go to an art college once she finishes high school. Her strengths lies in digital art, with drawing characters from games, Original Characters and backgrounds while maintaining a certain touch of modesty. That's only the drawings she shows to other people, however, as Rae's true talent corresponds with her borderline unhealthy obsession with Yaoi. She has an entire pad dedicated to everything from tasteful fanart to cold hard ****** **** ******. Rae is what can be described as boy-crazy, with her love for everything male being the one thing she absolutely refuse to reveal to anyone, restricting herself in conversations, or lying and saying she doesn't know about One Misdirection when she definitely have like 3 posters of them from that one concert where they were all wearing swimwear on her bedroom walls. She would quite simply die of embarrassment if this fact about her got out.

Background: Growing up in a third generation Korean household located in Atlanta, Georgia, Rae lived the stereotypical family life together with her parents and older brother, lying somewhere between working and middle class, thus meaning that while they lived comfortably, they had the occasional struggle. The only noteworthy struggle that would impact Rae's life in the longer run was that she was bullied in school for her heritage, which greatly impacted her ability to befriend other people, seeing as she was constantly on the recieving end of a lot of teasing, especially in her younger years. Her brother would always stick out for her though, but the age gap between them meant he would graduate grade school while she still had 4 years to go.

The teasing and bullying did eventually die out as the children grew older, not to mention all the anti-bullying campaigns the school participated in. However, the damage was done and she began keeping to herself nontheless. While other people would occasionally try talking to her, she would either just fluster up and run away or just stare at them blankly until they left her alone. Despite this, however, she did manage to get a few like-minded friends over the years, and while she was no social butterfly in the slightest, she did thoroughly enjoy spending time with the few friends she knew she could trust.

Starting high school, things became different. Meeting more people from all over was very scary for her, but she somehow managed to slither into modest group of people, cementing herself as the friend groups 'silent but deadly' archetype, even though she has no idea why that is. These friends also shared her love for drawing and creating, not to mention opened her eyes to the wonders of the online world. She would start spending so much time indoors that her family considered holding an intervention for her, but her father managed to talk her mother out of it. "It's just a phase" he would often say.

As she would continue to hone her drawing skills, she started to become more and more interested in storymaking. Gaming and huge open-world RPG's became a topic of facination for her, and she would start spending a lot of time on it. Getting inspired by all of the popular Youtube she would often watch online, she eventually decided to start a Youtube channel of her own, going by the handle Raechu, after the infamous Digimon, Raichu. Here she would dip her toes into let's plays and reaction videos, allthough the majority of her channel was dedicated to her art.

It's through a few of her online friends that Rae discovered Lost Horizon: The new up and coming video game. While she hadn't had any plans for playing it for her modest channel, she had no issue with joining up with others who did, even though her friends were also all modest newcomers to the Youtube Stage.

Other:
- While the thought of a relationship scares the everliving bogger out of her, Rae is heterosexual.
- She has a small youtube channel with a 600 ish subscribers. She has yet to do a face reveal, and use a Chibi version of herself as an animated avatar instead.
- Her brother's in the army and is her biggest supporter.

Name:
CatBoy08 (goes by Cat)
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Race: Beastkin
Weapon Type: Dual Wield: CatBoy08 wields a pair of twin katanas.

Appearance: Rae's LH Avatar is a Beastkin with traits from a cat. Being a bit biased towards attractive guys, the only cat-like traits she gave him were the obligatory ears and tail, wanting him to resemble an Australian Firefighter calendar model more than just the average cat-based beastkin. Tall and slender with lean, defined muscles and broad shoulders, CatBoy08 has pale skin, contrasted by black hair in a swoopy boyband style of which his black cat ears portrude from. His tail is long and slender, also black in color and with faint dark grey stripes. Rae went out of her way to make her avatar look as anime as she possibly could, and as such he has defined facial structures and narrow yellow eyes and angular eyebrows. His default facial expression makes it look like he's always planning something devious, defaulting in a sly grin which in reality just hides Rae's own shyness.

Clothing wise, Rae heavily leans towards light armor. Very light armor, rjust revealing enough for him not to just look like your run-to-the-mill fanservice character, though it is very clear that the one behind his appearance knew well what they were doing. Rae's a connoisseur of tastefully revealing fantasy outfits, and as such CatBoy08 wears a skin-tight sleeveless navy crop top with a very low-waisted pair of leather pants adorned with dark brown leather straps. He wears a pair of thigh-high leather boots with iron armor on the leggings, and black leather bracers with a pattern matching his boots. He also wears a long black split scarf with tattered ends. Around his waist he wears two black leather belts crossing over each other, each with a holster for one of his Katanas. The belts also have skull buckles on them. Another defining visual trait of CatBoy08 is his chocker. He wears a black leather chocker with a small golden bell on it. Contrary to what it suggests though, the bell is purely aesthetic and doesn't give off any sounds.

In-Game Persona: CatBoy08, as with most peoples online personas, differ quite drastically from Rae's personality. Where Rae is shy and reserved, CatBoy08 is a lot more outgoing and talkative, easily chatting up others while being generally friendly and easygoing. Cool Calm and Collected, CatBoy08 emits a confident charm, and always keeps a clear mind even in dire situatoins. As this is, after all, just a game, CatBoy08 can chat you up and help you on a quest, only to stealthfully rob you blind and leave you right after. Rae has toned this behavior down considerably after getting stuck in the game, taking her newfound reality a lot more seriously. This inserts more of her Irl personality which translates as CatBoy08 being more silent and brooding, seeming more like a confident loner than anything while in reality, it's just Rae's shyness shining through. While a big shock at first, Rae adapted to the new reality quite fast, knowing that she can use her cunning, combat skills and CatBoy08's dreamy abs to somehow solve the situation and return home.

Oh and CatBoy08 is also a hardcore third degree simp. What's hotter than guys? video game avatar anime-esque skimpily clad muscular dreamy guys of course.

Other:
- Rae spent 5 and a half hours creating CatBoy08's avatar. Every body detail is carefully placed, and every color carefully selected.
- The focal point of CatBoy08's appearance is his tastefully revealed rock hard abs, and Rae is not ashamed of it one bit.

Here's the state of my current application, nearly finished and should be done soon!
EDIT: I got to it and it's finished!

Name: Quinn Mazrin
Age: 29
Gender: Nonbinary (born female)

Appearance:
FkAAAAAElFTkSuQmCC.png
WjhQ4SY.png
FmYfQvk.png

Quinn is on the short side, just a couple inches shy of five and a half feet. Their skin is of a darker shade and constantly riddled with scratches. Most notably, they have a scar across their forehead from shrapnel, white in color after healing properly. Their hair is glossy black and kept short just below their ears. It's voluminous, but cut at varied lengths to give it a shaggy look. It doesn't matter much as they usually wear hats that cover most of the hair. Their eyes are a golden, hazel hue.

In terms of fashion, Quinn likes to be casual when not on the job. They like bold, often clashing colors and wild patterns with simple jeans. This is strongly contrasted by their strict wardrobe at work; full uniform of shorts, collared shirt, boots, and hat. It's similar to how their military dress used to be and they find comfort in it. Still, on their own time, Quinn likes to be more outgoing in their clothing choice.

They have fairly intense body language most of the time. When faced with a problem, Quinn will have more stiff, focused movement, as if trying to not waste any more time moving than they have to. Their resting face is usually an intimidating half-scowl and it can be difficult to get a full blown smile from them. They generally respect personal space and are highly aware of their surroundings.

Personality: Quinn has two sides to her in the real world; business and home. While there's definitely overlap between the two, any one can notice the difference that once they're in a comfortable space, they almost become a different person.

At work or doing anything professional or in public, Quinn never lets their guard down. They are constantly alert for anything--something they desire, something unexpected, something to avoid--and they have a calm and collected look to their actions at all times. They do everything intentionally and try not to second guess or hesitate. Time in the military definitely taught them to be able to make snap decisions and that's carried into their everyday life. They're able to quickly adapt if a plan goes wrong and always seems prepared for anything. While they may appear intimidating to some this way, they also emit an aura of safety. If a fight were to break out, they would jump in to stop it quickly and keep innocents safe. Towards troublemakers, they show no mercy, but don't harm until attacked first. They do have honor and integrity to uphold, but it goes out the window if anyone clearly crosses a social line. It doesn't happen often, but they will let loose if the circumstances are right.

On the other hand, behind the right closed doors, Quinn loosens up entirely into a laid back jokester. They love practical jokes and just shooting the breeze with those they're close to. They have a soft spot for cheesy romance movies and manga, getting invested in the relationships of fictional characters all too easily. All the tense stature leaves them and Quinn will be incredibly open about anything and everything. Ask about their sex life at your own risk. They also adopt a more motherly appearance; they are open-minded and willing to listen to your problems, offering advice where fit and showing genuine concern. There are privileged few who get to experience the raw Quinn, but many of these traits will blend in and out during an average day.

Background: Quinn was born the third of 4 children; two older sisters and a younger brother. She looked up to her sisters who would pretty themselves up for cheer meets and do incredible flips and routines. She also loved talking care of her brother and would play little games with him as he was much younger than the rest of them. Their parents were present and supportive, and when Quinn joined gymnastics the whole family showed up to competitions as much as they could. It was an ideal life, but something just felt wrong to her as she matured.

It was when her eldest sister went to college when things went wrong and Quinn's feelings we realized. Her sister was at a party where a boy slipped something in her drink and took advantage of her. She didn't come out about it right away, but their mother could tell something was wrong so they quietly told the police and informed the family something had happened, but left out the details. There was a court case and he got out with a slap in the wrist, the sister was distraught but determined to take better care of herself.

The event stirred something in Quinn. While her sister recovered well and dedicated to her studies, Quinn felt the wrongness of it and wanted to do something about it. Initially, she was interested in joining the police academy. Unfortunately, her grades wouldn't quite make up for it as she loved to slack off in class and preferred video games over studying and homework. Instead, she looked into enrolling got military service and went that route instead. With her background in gymnastics, she made it in and did a short tour of duty. She only saw action once, killing a handful of enemy soldiers and being taken off the field when shrapnel struck her head. She got her purple heart and was discharged, likely for the better as she once again had an odd feeling that something wasn't right.

Back at home, Quinn lived with her parents who still cared for them all and picked up some odd jobs around town. She made new friends with locals, meeting new faces as more people moved into their quaint town. While working at the local cafe, she made friends with a group that would change her life. Among them was their nonbinary friend, opening Quinn's eyes to a reality she didn't know existed. Though it took quite a bit of introspection and self actualization, she eventually came to the conclusion that she too felt that her gender was neither female nor male. From then on, they embraced this identity and their family was as supportive as ever.

Since this revelation, Quinn has felt much more motivated to improve their lifestyle. They applied to more permanent, full time jobs and had interviews of all sorts. The job they felt most called to was a position as a park ranger. There was ample free time with it and lots of physical work involved which they looked forward to. After a glowing second interview, they were accepted and went through their training. Quinn has been happily working in this position since and had adopted a husky mix to be their companion on longer shifts.

Race: Liliput
Weapon Type: Bow

Appearance:
240997_bl5rH31P.png

Quinn went with a straightforward approach when creating their avatar for the game. They decided on a Lilput to hopefully stand out, but then usually wears normal, everyday looking attire to make them further stand out in a world of wild, fantastical players. The body is short as expected, coming in at just around four feet, and the skin is a couple tones darker then their real life skin tone. The hair is large, curly, and and in a semi-afro, but with braids going down in the front, all light, leafy green in color. Overall, they like to dress in adorable, seasonal clothes that have a touch of practicality. They wanted to go for a girl-next-door look and likes to pretend their character is a gardener in their free time so the outfits often reflect that with overalls and floral accessories. In battle, they wear simple, flexible armor, usually leather, and keep to more muted tones to avoid being detected by enemies.

In-Game Persona: In game, Quinn loves to just take their time and explore the world. They're much more relaxed and enjoy being surprised it caught off guard by this. They'll wander into caves or poke enemies with weird items to see what happens. They're curious and good at finding trouble. They're also incredibly sociable and like to hop from guild to guild to experience as much of the server that they can. They also really like shirking responsibilities on other members and hates having to make decisions. Now that they've been transported into the game though, Quinn has their no nonsense personality up and is determined to take things carefully to get to the bottom of what's going on. They'll take the lead if they have to and aren't afraid to die a few times in the way.

Fire and Ice Combo
Name: Alexander Nathaniel Thorton
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Appearance: Alex can only be described as average in most aspects. His height in the normal range for his gender and age, not tall but not short either. He has a skinny build with little muscle and fat, so he doesn't look like anything special. His skin tone is pale and with no blemishes whatsoever anywhere on him. Other than his skin is a little too white, there not much else to say about him. Alex's eyes are a medium shade of brown, nothing that a majority of the population doesn't have. Though his eyes sometimes have a bit of a sad, downcast look expression most just think it's his shyness shining through. His hair is a medium brown color that is cut short and neatly. Though he has naturally straight hair, it sometimes looks messy due to a lack of taking care of it when he has no intention of going out.

He doesn't wear anything special normally, a t-shirt, hoodie, sweats, jeans, sandals, and tennis shoes make up the majority of his outfits. There really isn't much to say about how he dresses other than it doesn't look worn out and it fits him.

aoQwO3Z.png

Personality: Alex is an introvert and a very quiet one at that. He barely has two words to say unless prompted to do so. He takes everything with a smile, whether they be praises or criticisms. Even when things make him miserable or irritated, he just keeps it all to himself. He never shows his grieves to anyone. Alex is a helpful sort that puts aside his needs in favor of others. And he does so without asking for anything in return. Though these acts are mostly for close friends and family, he can sometimes be persuaded by the desperation of others. With friends that he is close to, he still quiet, but they can start a conversation with him. Kind and considerate, most people just find him enjoyable to be around.

Only when there is nobody around will Alex's normal smile transform into an expression of frustration and sorrow. He locks himself in someplace as he silent just vents all of the pressures, annoyances, and griefs that he experienced that day. Alex really doesn't like himself or his life. Any praises he receives, he only believes that people are just being encouraging to such a quiet pitiful child. He has little confidence in his abilities and no hopes or ambitions for the future. But so that people don't worry about him, he pretends everything all right, that he is all right. As the pressure of the enormous decisions he has to make about his future grows closers, his worries have started to become visible to others. Alex has become evasive when that subject comes up and unwilling to talk about it.

Background: Alexander's parents were more well-off than the average family. Though unlike the ordinary, his parents' job had them moving around the states a lot. So in his youngest years, he rarely stayed in one place long enough to create a strong bond with kids his age. His elementary school days were incredibly uneventful and Alex merely just went through the motions to get through another day. He was a good kid that no one could say anything awful about him, however, he could only form shallow relationships with the knowledge that he would soon move again.

In between their busy work schedules, his parents began to notice. Their son never hung out with friends and would spend days off watching TV or playing video games alone in his room. They began to believe all this constantly moving around was turning their well-mannered boy into a recluse. So after 4th grade of elementary school, Alex permanently moved in with his Uncle Randy in a suburban town in Missouri. His year as a 5th grader wasn't any different from any other year of his school life. But as he moved up to middle school, there was a shift. His peers began to form their little cliques, and he struggled to let go of his old way of interacting with people. By the middle of his first years as a middle schooler, he was all alone.

Bullies picked Alex out of those that didn't have a group to hang with and slowly whittle away at his self-esteem. He found it harder to get even superficially close to people but still not wanting his uncle and parents to worry, he said nothing. As the years continued, Alex began to dislike himself more every day and hated having to deal with people. Yet he continued his little facade of pretending he was a perfectly fine, and well-behaved teenager.

When high school came along, his situation got surprisingly better. The guy that used to bully him ended up at another school, and somehow he ended making a small group of friends. Alex had a hard to truly put himself out there, but it was comforting to not be by himself all the time. Not having to lie about having friends. And not being surrounded by people that always put him down, was a nice feeling. His new friends introduced him to many online multiplayer games, which he found so much easier to communicate than in real-life. It became his way to vent, express himself, and be a person he wanted to more like.

Online gaming became his life for most of high school until the approach of his senior year. Then came all the pressures about his future. He couldn't sit around playing games forever but had no confidence in making anything of himself in the real-world. As all the stress was eating away at him, he suddenly found a new MMO to draw his attention away. Lost Horizon, would be the stress-reliever he needed as he moved forward into the future, he hoped.

: QT-Pi

: 22
Gender: Male
Race: Beastkin
Weapon Type: Dual Fists

Appearance: QT-Pi is a very tall being, probably in the mid-six feet area in real life, towering over a lot of the normal height avatars. He is very toned with overall defined muscles and abs. The legs of the avatar look the most muscular. He is mostly humanoid with normal human hands and bends in his joints. His feet are animalistic with noticeable paws with some pointed nails coming out of them. There is also a pair of bunny ears instead of human ears coming off the side of his head. That last animal characteristic is a cute fluffy bunny tail popping out just above his bottom. There are no scars and blemish anywhere on his body from want people can tell.

As a beastkin, QT-Pi is covered in sleek, bronze brown, and black fur. He has black on most of his head, his back, back of his arms, and his legs and feet. The brown fur starts just below his eyes covers the front of him, his cheeks, chin, inside of his arms, and palms, chest, and abdomen. All brown coloration ends when it reaches his legs. Lopped bunny ears rest on QT-Pi's broad shoulders, somewhat blending in with his silky straight hair. The bangs that sweep across his forehead, the strands flare out in the back, tickling his neck. A messy bun sits on the top of his head. A few pale green streaks in the bangs help draw attention and adds a little color to his head area. Big and round crimson red eyes really stand out from the dark coloration that surrounds them. They have a very bright and inviting expression.

QT-Pi isn't much for clothing only have a brown leather bomber-style jacket unzipped with no shirt on underneath. There is some light brown color fur around the collar of the jacket. A plain red bandana is tied around his neck. A pair of khaki short shorts barely cover his upper thigh area. He has a hip bag that is the same color as his shorts. Other than some small silver hoop piercings in his lopped ears, there is nothing else being worn by him.

In-Game Persona: Unlike his low-confidence, restrained norm personality, as QT-Pi, Alex is much more talkative and lively. He is not afraid of talking to people that he'll never see in real life. And if friends question him, the teen merely feints that he was into rping his character. Because of this, he loses his polite speech and worries less about how people think about him. QT-Pi is much more lively, boisterous, and spontaneous without that hanging over his head. While he won't do things that might get him banned in the game, he refuses to take crap from anyone. He has become a new stronger person that won't be trampled by others. Trusts his gaming skills are better than most, he has confidence in himself that no matter what challenges are placed in front of him, he can make it work.

Because some of his real self is still there, he does feel bad when he makes people unhappy. And will apologize when he knows what his actions have caused people some discomfort. And despite frequently creating idealistic and sexy avatars, he still gets incredibly flustered when people actively flirt with him. He tries to act the part and play along, but he is obviously awkward. Most of his original personality comes out when he fails. QT-Pi suddenly becomes so meek and self-doubting that his happy-go-lucky attitude just vanishes.

I see I'm the only one without a WIP up, so let's change that.

Real-World Character Sign-up

Name:
Wesley King
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Appearance:
GpHJJzw.png

Wesley stands with the aid of specialized crutches at a height of about 5'4". He weighs only about 105lbs, so is notably small for a boy his age, with a very thin, frail frame. He was born with spastic diplegia and his walking gait is slow and awkward, but he prefers walking to using a wheelchair unless he is going a long distance. Typical of those with his condition, he walks with his feet turned inward due to stiff leg muscles. He keeps his brown hair short (his mom will buzzcut it for him every couple of weeks) so he doesn't need to do much upkeep or style it in any way, especially as even when it does grow longer it's pretty straight. He has large pale-green eyes.

His clothing attire is usually casual, preferring jeans, sneakers, and t-shirts. He particularly likes shirts with Japanese kanji on it, or shirts with characters from anime or video games that he likes. He's amassed quite a collection of them, and typically only wears the newest ones, "retiring" the others for safekeeping.

Personality: Wesley can be a little shy when first meeting somebody, but he's a fantastic friend once he finally lets you in. He is the type to always be on top of other people's birthdays or other important events in their lives - if you mentioned you were having a bad day, Wesley will probably follow up on it. Granted, he doesn't have a very large circle that he does this with. He will consistently put others before himself and will get really embarrassed if he is the center of attention. That said, he does a lot better if he can hide behind a mask - like he does in his youtube video reviews that don't show his face, or in Lost Horizons behind an avatar.

Wesley loves video games and anime, and though he'd be too embarrassed to label himself as a nerd, he totally is one. He can juggle watching dozens of different anime at a time, though recently he's put this on hold to play Lost Horizons (which he is also planning on releasing a review on). Though his arms are largely unaffected, he has a bit of a hand tremor that makes drawing too frustrating, which annoys him as he would have loved to pursue art.

Wesley hasn't thought a lot about what he wants to do for the rest of his life, and is still immature in a lot of other aspects too, like having literally zero cooking skills. His parents are happy to do things for him due to his disorder, but he doesn't have a huge desire to be independent yet. Really, the thought scares him, especially without his closest friend Oliver around to figure life out with.

Background:
Wesley was born in Melbourne, Australia, with spastic diplegia, a form of cerebral palsy that primarily affects his legs, due to birth complications. He has had eight surgeries over the course of his short life to improve mobility, but the recovery time and subsequent physical therapy always made it feel like it set him back more than it helped him. His parents were older when they finally got around to having him, so he has no siblings. They were therefore able to pool a lot of time and funds into Wesley, to give him the medical and specialized care he needed growing up. He attended a private school, and while his classmates went to piano classes or soccer practice after school, Wesley went to physical therapy.

This made it a little difficult to connect with other kids his own age, and his classmates seemed almost afraid of him - it was like he was invisible as they wouldn't so much as make eye contact. It didn't last too long, fortunately, as another boy in his class named Oliver sat down next to him and point-blank asked why he walked funny. Wesley explained that he had cerebral palsy, and then Oliver asked if Wesley wanted to colour with him. From then on, they were best friends. Oliver had a large social circle and was really popular, which sort of allowed Wesley a broad social life, even if he didn't connect with any of them the same way he did with Oliver.

One of Wesley's favourite activities was to play video games with Oliver - he couldn't exactly best Oliver in real football, but he beat him every time in FIFA. Wesley's dad was a big football fanatic, so Wesley grew up watching a lot of it on television. He participated in a Special Olympics program for kids for some time, but mostly in individual sports like track (which he didn't excel at, but he still had fun doing). It didn't matter that he couldn't play real soccer, since he taught his dad how to play video games, too.

As Wesley grew older, he gossiped with Oliver about the high school football team, about the cute girls in their class, about the parties they'd attend when they got to high school - then he watched Oliver make the high school football team, get his first girlfriend, and talk about that time he got wasted at an initiation party. Wesley felt like he was living on the sidelines of somebody else's life. He was happy for Oliver, but he felt like he'd never get to have those same life experiences. Wesley shut down Oliver's attempts to play matchmaker for him and to drag him out to parties he wasn't invited to - he regretted it afterward, but nobody invited them to parties themselves, and no girls even looked once at him, let alone twice.

Wesley sunk himself into an online world instead, putting his many, many hours of watching anime and playing video games to use by making video reviews of popular ones he's watched. He used the online persona "Senshi" - meaning "Warrior". He's slowly amassed a bit of a following, which Wesley is all the more proud of since he used his voice, which is mostly unaffected by his disorder, but not his image. His followers have no idea of his physical challenges, which allows it to be one of few areas of his life where he can feel "normal", or equal to any other person.

At the end of senior year, Wesley didn't want to attend prom, but Oliver relentlessly insisted he go, and he even decided to host a huge afterparty since his strict parents were finally going on vacation. Wesley attended begrudgingly, and it ended up being the best night of his life. People were a lot more friendly with some alcohol in them, and turned out he didn't care as much either.

But... then everything was over. High school was finished. Wesley had graduated but still didn't know what he wanted to do with the rest of his life. But Oliver had gotten a scholarship to an American school, so after one last summer together, they said goodbye.

Currently, Wesley is keeping himself occupied by researching education and temporary job opportunities, and in the meantime playing a new game that had come out called Lost Horizon, in between reading the texts he gets from Oliver describing his college shenanigans. He lives with his parents, having neither the funds nor the skills to live independently yet.

In-Game Avatar Sign-up

Name:
Shiori Queen
Age: Early 20s?
Gender: Female
Race: Ogre
Weapon Type: Heavy blade - two-handed sword
Appearance:
ANjOJUq.png

Wesley named Shiori after a character in an anime that he liked, picking it partly because it was phonetically similar to his online persona "Senshi". He gave her the last name "Queen" to mirror his irl last name "King". He picked an ogre because it was the least used class, and therefore the most interesting to review. Shiori has pale green skin, the typical pointed ogre ears, dark green horns that curve back over her head, a long pointed tail, and white dreadlocks with a tinge of blue. Her eyes are a deep royal blue. Wesley added a lot of body paint and ear piercings, as many as he could fit onto the character without it looking ridiculous. She is quite tall, as is typical for ogres, around 6'1".

She wears some furs to cover her chest and shoulders, short brown shorts, and tall brown leather boots. She wields a large two-handed greatsword. Overall, his goal was to make a way more attractive version of an ogre than the game's examples depicted, and he feels like he did a pretty good job - though the games default dialogue hasn't changed any, which Wesley finds kind of funny and is planning on making fun of in his review of it.

Given Wesley is Australian, Shiori has an Australian accent as well.

In-Game Persona: Compared to Wesley irl, Shiori is much more confident and very okay with striking up a conversation to get what she needs. She is strong, fast, brave - everything Wesley wishes he was. Wesley generally prefers playing female characters in video games, admittedly partially because he just prefers staring at a female avatar over a male one, but also because he sort of feels a connection to the traits women and disabled people are supposed to have - weak, passive, empathetic - Shiori is none of that nonsense.

Or, was supposed to be none of that nonsense - Wesley of course is in shock to find himself in her body, but at the same time, now the mask he used to hide from the world is his reality. Forget having super strength or a massive sword, he can walk across the room with zero problem. Wesley is a little worried he's in some sort of coma or died in real life and this is his weird fever dream or his heaven, but whatever, he never wants to go back. Though... he does kind of want to figure out what's happening. What if his parents are worried about him?

Thanks for adding your WIP, I await your final character.

Due to the number of people who have shown interest, I've made a few decisions:

1. I won't be participating in the RPG as a player. I'll act as DM and play the NPCs, monsters, and other characters in the world.
2. The Guild will be split into two groups, which will go on separate adventures. I'll act as DM for both simultaneously. Everyone will be part of the same Guild, and these groups will not be set in stone; you'll be able to exchange members, and you'll come together for climactic story events.
3. In order to round off the number of players at an even 10, I'm allowing GoldenHouou to sign up as well.

Dragalge: Yeah, that works! Approved.

I've also approved Tangeh's character, who informs me their SU is complete.

We're just waiting for GoldenHouou and we're set.

Real-World Character Sign-up

Name:
Bradshaw "Brad" Tanner
Age: 19
Gender: Male

Appearance:
download20201202014812.png

Brad isn't a particularly difficult person to read, and a lot can be surmised with a glance. His stride hints at confidence, and the fact that he never shuts up paints him as an extrovert. If his athletic build isn't good enough a clue that he does sports on the regular, the varsity jacket leaves little room for doubt. Emblazoned with his college's initials right below their badger mascot, it's a staple in his wardrobe and his pride and joy. Whatever shirt he wears underneath matters little. His shoes tend to be worn, but as much should be expected - after all, he doesn't skip out on daily jogs. Anything to get out of the house early in the morning. He stands at 6'3', with an angular face and a prominent nose. He hears it runs in the family.

Then there's the trinkets, which seem at odds with the rest of him. Watches, bracelets, sometimes necklaces, all conspicuously shiny and on display, almost as if he was flaunting them on purpose. But while they might look expensive to a casual observer, those in the know might be able to tell they're counterfeits and worth little actual money. Oh, and the wear and tear you sometimes spot on his jeans? He'll tell you they've always been there, and that it's a fashion statement. But he's not a very good liar.

Lately, his bad habits have started to catch up with him. His lungs aren't quite what they were before all the smoking, and he's not sure what's up with his liver. He tends to reek of at least one addictive substance at any given time, and sometimes finds himself in a coughing fit.

Personality: Loud and boisterous, Brad tends to leave some sort of an impression wherever he goes. Name a party - or any social gathering, really - and you can be sure to find him there. If not trying to find a drunken hookup, then making a name for himself at the pool table. Unless he's passed out under said table, that is. You would think that the son of an alcoholic would not so readily touch alcohol, but you'd be sorely mistaken. While he tends to turn to the cig more often than not when nervous or stressed, nicotine isn't quite as good a mind number as alcohol and leads to way less fun. It's fine, he can control it - he's just drinking cause his bros are. He doesn't have a problem, okay.

As is quickly clear, Brad tends to talk a lot and loves to socialize, even when it's completely one-sided. That is to say, even if you don't talk with him, he's going to keep talking at you like you're friends regardless. He's prone to thinking out loud and throwing 'clever' one-liners where he sees appropriate, even in situations that don't warrant it. Brad loves to laugh and loves making people laugh, but his humour is definitely not for everyone. He has a bad habit of showing affection by teasing or messing with people - something that has caused conflict between him and some of his peers in the past. He can be a bit 'too much' at times, and what he considers friendly teasing could easily be considered bullying when directed at someone unwitting. He also tends to insert himself into people's personal bubbles and drag them along for figurative and literal rides, oftentimes forgetting to get the others' permission in the process. After all, he didn't have bad intentions - and he hasn't quite grasped that intent isn't everything.

However, despite his 'devil may care' attitude and outwards confidence, Brad isn't without his sore spots. For one, he's a sucker for attention and is just as addicted to his friends' approval and praise as he is to nicotine. This makes him incredibly prone to peer pressure, often to a concerning degree. He isn't above breaking the law or putting himself (or others) in danger just to elicit a few amazed gasps and giggles from people. And though he will readily and audibly declare himself the leader of any group he finds himself in, his need for approval tends to make him unlikely to act in a way that would ruin his reputation - even if it would be objectively the 'right' thing to do. He can live with guilt. He can't live alone.

Speaking of being alone however, if you do manage to catch him without his group of friends, you'll find him somewhat more tolerable. He's still a reckless dude in love with his own voice, but he feels like he has less to prove to total strangers and isn't as likely to throw anyone under the bus to save his own face. His methods of talking to people and befriending them do remain unorthodox and forceful however, as does his lack of respect for personal boundaries. At the very least, he will fiercely look out for those in his inner circle, should you find yourself included in it. Sometimes he just needs a proverbial slap back to reality and a big hefty "NO."

Background: Brad's childhood is not something he readily brings up in conversation. From what he's gathered, his parents weren't in any way ready to raise a child, and his birth was the final straw in an already strained relationship. For as long as he can remember it's just been his father and him, living in a small house that reeks of alcohol and bad life choices. He's been told his mother was a ***** and a skank, but considering his father's laundry list of personal problems, many of which deal with addiction and anger, Brad's inclined to believe otherwise. Just in case, though, he's never dared try and find her.

He has often found himself wishing his father would've left in her stead, though. Jason Tanner is - and always was - the nasty kind of drunkard, raising both his voice and his fists at each and every source of perceived insult. Growing up felt like navigating a minefield, and Brad did not come out unscathed. Needless to say, he avoided staying home whenever he could. It wasn't like there was much there, anyway; the Tanner family grew up quite poor. They did have a roof over their head and food on their plates (which was more than could be said for many other families out there), but not much else. The sports car Brad always wanted was a distant and unrealistic dream, and he was always aware of the fact.

High school was a turning point for him. He ended up joining a football team, if for no other reason than to find an excuse to spend time away from home. As it turned out, though, sports changed his life. Not only did he earn himself a sports scholarship, he became pretty popular - to a point where he started to feel like he had to hide his family's financial situation. A lot of his friends came from rich families, and he didn't want to feel like a loser among them. So, he started to fake it until he could make it; he took on part time jobs to at least get replicas of expensive brands and never brought anyone home. His car, he told everyone, was totaled in a street race (which he won, of course). He got a "new" one eventually - a rental ride he showed off whenever the need arose.

Things looked up for a while - as they always tended to, just before going downhill. His father was hospitalized recently, and although Brad hated him with every fiber of his being, the asshole was still family. The only family he had. As a result, he's been trying to take care of him, the house, and all the **** his father apparently neglected to mention to him over the years. Like the fact that he was deep in debt, or had a criminal registry. Or that apparently, Brad's mother had tried to contact him at some point - 5 years ago. He's willing to bet there are more surprises in store among the rest of his father's papers, but hasn't had the nerves to go digging after the initial round of discoveries. As a result of the stress, Brad's started smoking again, a habit he'd managed to drop when he first got into sports. He already feels the effects, but can't bring himself to quit. Last time he tried, he ended up turning to alcohol instead.

He might have tried Lost Horizon as a drunken joke, but perhaps a small part of him hoped the game would bring him some sort of a distraction from real life. To its credit, it seems that it did. Too well.

In-Game Avatar Sign-up

Name:
The (very unfortunate) name he initially chose for his character was Hotbabe69, but upon finding himself in her body, he quickly started to go by Bae instead. It's a slight improvement at least, until he finds it in him to admit to his real name.
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Race: Beastkin
Weapon Type: Whip, a weapon chosen as an extension to the joke. It has turned out more difficult to use than he'd initially imagined.

Appearance:
download20201202030006.png

Bae's appearance was based on a girl Brad had a fling with back in high school, just amped up to eleven. He chose beastkin partly to excuse slapping on a pair of cat ears on a girl, but also because the ex he based her on was very 'catty'. He thinks it's hilarious. As a result, she has two cream-coloured ears and a tail, with a bell tied to the tip of the latter.

Despite being petite and standing only at 5', Bae has an unrealistic hourglass figure and ample curves. Needless to say, sliders were slid all the way in quite a few places. and dresses in garments that can hardly be called 'armour'. Frills and bows are abundant in her outfit, which looks like a particularly skimpy minidress or a nightgown.

She gives off major preppy vibes, walks with a sway. Or at least, she used to when she was just a character and not Brad himself. Ever since he found himself suffering from the decisions of his drunk past self, he's tried to cover up more and lost some of the more exaggerated mannerisms as to avoid dying from embarrassment. He's also found new respect for people able to walk - or hell, run - in heels.

In-Game Persona: When Brad originally created the account, he did so in a drunken spur of the moment. What followed was a handful of drunk dudes behind a monitor pretending to be a girl according to their very limited knowledge of the subject; and so, a preppy caricature was born. Brad never thought he would actually find himself stuck inside a joke he created though, and isn't quite sure how to act now. Should he... hide who he is under the avatar and just pretend to be a girl? Laugh it off? Just strut like he owns it? Damnit, he needs a smoke right about now.

GoldenHouou: Approved! Love your character, excellent job.

Since we're just one player short of an even ten, seems like I will be signing up after all. Expect my sign-up between tomorrow and Christmas, and expect the RPG to begin shortly before New Years, or possibly shortly after. In the meantime, please give the RPG Cafe thread a look, and if you have any questions, ask them there.
