Anybody else love this excellent manga?

I love it! I've read every volume at least 5-6 times and i still can't get over it. It's just a great love story that's very touching. But insanely hillarious at the same time!

I now call Ken Akumatsu "Akumatsu-Sama" ^.^

Yes, I love this manga! I'm a big fan of Akamatsu-sensei's works since Mahou Sensei Negima, and particularly a fan of Aoyama Motoko and Tama-chan!

I'm particularly fond of Shinobu. I also love Tama-chan! One of the funniest things in the series was when she left Hinata House

Pretty meh romantic harem comedy manga. Still a hell of a lot better than the anime, though.

Same, except replace "meh" with "horrid."

The only thing that I liked about Love Hina was the art. It had at least had that smooth appeal about it... otherwise, repetitious characters, plot points, etc. are not what I look for in an "excellent" manga, or piece of fiction altogether.

I don't get how it's repetitious, but all their own.

I'm male, and I love my action... but this i the first manga to ever make me go "OMG SOOOO KAWAAAII!!!". I'm not kidding. I was literally rubbing the manga against my cheek becuase of some of Shinobu's reactions. :)

There are better comedy manga out there. There are better romance manga out there. There are better harem manga out there (though the majority of them still suck).

And this is besides the point that the male lead is pretty much tied with the guy from Shuffle for worst anime lead ever.

Did you even bother to read al 14 volumes?

There was honestly no real progression in characters, the same cliché jokes were used over and over again, and the plot twists didn't help, either.

I'm male, and I can appreciate a good ol' fight here and there as well, but I still can't stand the series. Shinobu is also one of the reasons on my long list of reasons why I hated myself after reading it.

To your last point, Ah! My Goddess and Tenchi Muyo are the lone exceptions -- mind you I haven't read much of either, but enough to realize this.

You must not have ever heard, let alone read Ichigo 100%. He makes Keitaro look like a goldenboy (not to be confused with the Keitaro from the anime OVA and manga Goldenboy).

Relatedly, Goldenboy kicks the *** of Love Hina by far.

Can't speak for him, but I know I did, and I know I lost at least a few brain cells after doing so.

You'll lose more brain cells reading Negima if you don't like Love Hina, so don't do it. Although I love both series, I respect your opinion, as you seem like a very intelligent person.

I'm currently in the process of buying the first three volumes of "No Need For Tenchi!". I loved the anime when i was younger and I like harem/action manga. So it should be a good fit for me.

I have one question though... did you buy all 14 volumes? If you did... why did you spend most likely $100+ on a series that you didn't like?

I've read all fourteen volumes of the manga (thank God I didn't buy any of them; that would be a waste of money) and I liked the first three volumes, but after that, it went downhill rather quickly.

There are so many things the manga-ka could've done on some parts too, like when Keitaro went to the United States. He could've actually done things there, or have something interesting come up or SOMETHING, rather than skipping ahead and having him come back in the next chapter. T_T;

Love Hina is another overrated series, although it's enjoyable to a degree in some areas but droning in everything else, especially the perversion comedy that keeps repeating itself (the manga author probably thinks people will still think it's funny after the one-billionth time). e_e

Yes, the "pervert" jokes did and are old/stale. But now I read it for the inspiring storyline. It shows you no matter how much you fail, or how many times you get punched into the stratosphere, you can do whatever you want to do. Many people don't actually see this through all the repetitous jokes and fanservice.

I've read all of Ichigo 100%, and there's one thing that makes Manaka better than Keitaro: Manaka actually has enough of a spine to make a decision in the end.

Keitaro made his decision in like book 7. >.>

Check out Oh My Goddess, preferrably the new unflipped volumes, as well. Good read from what I've read so far.

They're called "scans," if ya didn't know.

"Inspiring storyline"? I got that whole "theme" that was common through the manga, but that whole idea has been presented much more commonly, not to mention better, in other manga and anime. Plus, the theme is a bit too optimistic and doesn't show much as far as consequences go, something that say, an U.S. movie like Forrest Gump did VERY well.

Eh, Keitaro makes a choice as well, but he just doesn't act on it. When looking at the situations that Manaka when through, no real guy would honestly act that stupid, oblivious, and "innocent" as he did.

Well, I spent $140 on all the Love Hina manga+tax. Which I can't say that it's dissapointed me, becuase it's my favorite japanese-made thing i've ever had. Including my Honda Accord. :p

Hahaha... paying $140 when you could easily pay $0 for it.
