Ok so this is my first fic. Feel free to be as harsh as you want. I encourage and accept any criticism so go right ahead.
Prologue
The psychic pokemon lashed out with a psywave knocking down the group of scientists that were examining him. The purple catlike pokemon began to float out of the room when a siren suddenly went off and lights began flashing rapidly. It proceeded down the hallway when a group of scientists and men in black clothing blocked its path. They quickly let out their pokemon, all Zubats, Geodudes, and Magnetons.
In one sweep of its hand, the psychic Pokemon knocked its foes away effortlessly. Floating past the unconcious bodies, it was nearly at the exit. The Pokemon than stopped when he heard a voice from behind him.
"Stop Mewtwo!" Mewtwo turned to see a bald man on top of a Rapidash. Mewtwo was about to use Psychic but a shrill sound rang in his head. It was too powerful even for the mighty Mewtwo to handle. The Pokemon fell to the ground panting before passing out.
Blaine, the scientist who had stopped him, hopped off his Rapidash calmly towards Mewtwo. In his hand was a small remote that had caused the noise to disable the psychic pokemon. Blaine pulled out a needle and extracted a large vial of blood from the Pokemon, storing it in his lab coat.
"We'll have to stop that from happening again." He said with a frown. As for the vial, Blaine decided he'd keep it secret from the rest of the organization.
Vs. Growlithe!
3 Years Later
It was a chilly morning on Cinnabar Island and very few people were out and about. One of the few was a twelve year old boy, Warren, and his Growlithe, Lithy. The boy was scrawny for his age and his large orange shirt and green pants made him look even smaller. The boy's hood was on, hiding the boy's messy hair from view.
The pair finally arrived at their destination, the Cinnabar Gym. Warren crossed his fingers and walked through the gym doors, his Growlithe following at his heels. The boy was immediatly greeted by the doorkeep of the gym.
"Good morning, Warren." the man said with a smile.
" 'morning sir. Is Blaine here?" Warren asked the man hopefully.
"Nope." The man replied casually.
"Do you know when he'll be back?" Warren questioned the man as Lithy began chasing a fly.
"You know I don't." The man saw the boy's despair at hearing this once again. "I'm sure that he'll be back soon though."
Warren left on this remark and Lithy gave up on capturing the fly and followed his trainer out the door. The boy continued to wonder where Blaine might be, he had not seen him for over a month and Warren was beginning to worry. Blaine had been his mentor while he was there and was even the person who gave him his first and only Pokemon, Growlithe. His parents were worried about Warren being associated with Blaine because of the man's past with Team Rocket but seeing Warren happy ceased their worries.
As Warren was walking by, a boat pulled up on the side of the island. The boy quickly went to see who it was, lately there were no visitors to the island and was excited for anything that might end his boredom. When he walked up to the boat two men popped out, one a sailor and another who's face he had learned from Blaine. The second person was none other than Bill, the creator of the Pokemon Storage System. The two ran right past him in the direction of a Pokemon Center.
"Come on Lithy, lets see what they're up to." Warren turned around to find the dog Pokemon no longer behind him but travelling up the ramp onto the boat. "Lithy, come back here."
The Growlithe was already in the boat though, and didnt hear his authors plea. Warren chased after his Pokemon into the boat nearly knocking over the middleaged couple who were near the entrance. The boy looked frantically down the hall for Lithy to no avail. Warren then spotted pawprints leading down the hallway. After apologizing to the couple, he followed the pawprints down the hall.
The prints eventually led to a storage room with the door ajar. Inside was Lithy sniffing his own shadow. Seeing his partner.\, the Growlithe let out a happy bark and jumped into its trainers arms. Almost immediatey after the two touched, the boat lurched forward.
Warren went flying into the door, closing it and operating its automatic lock. He quickly looked for Growlithe but once again the dog was lost. Warren heard a whimper and realized he was sitting on the dog pokemon.
"There you are."The boy picked up the Growlithe and held him firmly.
He was about to cry for help but then a thought popped into his head. This could be his ONLY chance to leave the island. He remembered listening to Blaine telling his adventures and Warren longing to go on his own one day. Warren decided to stay quiet, opened the porthole for some fresh air, and sat down.
Warren was beginning to drift into sleep when he saw something in the corner of his eyes. The boy thought it was just his imagination but suddenly Lithy stood up fur on end, uttering low growls.
"Come out, whatever you are" Warren called into the darkness.
A figure came out from behind the boxes and moved into the light. It was an orange and green color with tentacles for arms, In the center of its chest was an orb of some kind, glowing green. Warren had bever seen or heard of a Pokemon like this before, not even from Blaine.
Lithy began to whimper in fear as the creature advanced towards them. Warren stroked the dog's fur to keep him calm, but he began to shake even more. When the creature was withing five feet of them, Lithy jumped from Warren's arms directly out the porthole. Warren cried out as he heard a splash from outside. Knowing the weakness Lithy had to water, Warren dived through the porthole after his companion into the cold, blue water.....
