Luster purge/Mist Ball or Psychic

Well for my Latios and Latias I am debating which one to keep attack wise of the topic. As theres no point in keeping 2 of the same type of attacks. Mist Ball and Luster Purge have that 50% chance of working there special lower (Mist Ball) special attack or special defense (Luster Purge) yet they only do 70 damage. Now if luster purge worked right away it would do more damage then a psychic. Both have a nice percentage of working to. Both my guys are lvl 100 now so pp isn't a major issue. Psychic will do more damage but its only 20 not including STAB of course. Also don't note what looks cool and what doesn't I don't care lol I am going for stratagy.

This is what I have so far

Latios
Dragon Claw
Psychic
Ice Beam
Recover

Latias
Mist Ball
Thunderbolt
Ice Beam
Recover

Since both my guys know Ice beam not sure what else to teach to replace one of them. I use the ice beam for dragons basically. So what would you choose Psychic or Mist ball/ Luster Purge

Psychic has more PP and power, and I think Luster Purge lowers Sp Def. and Mist Ball lowers Sp Att. LP and MB's special effect might be more likely than Psychic's(I can't remember), but overall Psychic is a better move.

Psychic is better than both luster purge and mist ball. They may look more impressive than psychic, but it's more useful than the other two. Like others have said, you'll get more PP and power out of psychic. I prefer to lower sp.def with psychic. If it does, then it will take fewr phychic attacks than luster purges or mist balls to KO opponents. Lowering opposing pokes sp.atk doesn't seem useful to me anyway...

LP is a weaker Psychic. Psychic is all around better.

Psychic is most effective especially if your playing vs other players...
ingame it doesnt matter, you can have fun with Mist/ Purge, but overall Psychic is better

I'd go with the signature moves.

Sure, there not as powerful, but a half accurate effect to it is really good.
Mist Ball lowers Special Attack 50% of the time and Luster Purge lowers Special Defense 50% of the time.

I like all three. Psychic is more powerful but you can't deny those lovely effects of Luster Purge/Mist Ball. ;D

Comes to warn you...
Luster Purge has 50% of lowering SDEF. Mist Ball = same for SATK. Go for Psychic on both, 20 more power. Also more PP for long lasting battles. Latias, however, in 2 on 2 better takes the role of supporter, and so may want Mist Ball.

Assuming you use them in 2 on 2, have this set:

Latios
D-Claw
Psychic
Recover
Thunderbolt

T-bolt works better for Lati@s than Ice Beam.

Latias
Helping Hand
Recover
Icy Wind
Mist Ball

That way, Latias gives Helping Hand, then uses Icy Wind on the foes, lowering Speed, and Mist ball lowers Special Attack, while Latios sweeps away.

For individual sets, go with what you have, only switch Mist ball on Latias for Psychic.

Yes, more power, more accuracy, more power points to spare with psychic, so I don't see how much longer we can drag this point out, unless somone adds more numbers to the mix.

a 50% Chance to hit the opponents with a Loss to Special Attack is pretty big, if your running around with a Soul Dew I don't think It willl matter either way as his special attack should be pretty extradorinary that way, one proc of Luster Purge would let him wipe everyone else out with his other attacks, so its not a bad choice, the main problem is in long battles you might be short on PP.

So Do what you want, as far as latias goes, since her special defense is what gets higher, she can make a pretty good tank
