Plot:

An unknown scientist by the name of Jacob Uler has been working on experiments to make Pokémon more powerful for years. His experiments were never drastic. They were always small experiments that didn’t injure the Pokémon in any way. He would feed a Flareon chili powder to see if its fire powers would increase, try to make a Scyther’s blades sharper by polishing them at random, and try to increase Onyx’s size by feeding it pebbles mixed in with Poke food. His experiments were frowned upon because he never succeeded. All of his experiments sounded like something some small child would try. None of them worked so he always had to try something else and that something else would always fail too. After a while, Uler grew tired of his failure, and of the lack of fame that came with it. All scientists wish to be recognized, but he was too much of failure to even be looked at. When the other looked at him, it was to laugh.

Uler finally got sick of the laughing - sick of the failure. He decided that he would do something that no one had dared to do: he would create the most powerful Pokémon yet. He decided that a Pokémon that had gone absolutely crazy would be strong; if it lost its mind it wouldn’t care if it wasn’t being obedient, and it wouldn’t care if it was learning an attack that wasn’t its type. It wouldn’t care about anything. A Pokémon that is so mad that it destroys anything it’s told to; one that is so insane it doesn’t need to be told to finish its opponent off, one that he could use to capture even the Legendaries. What if he could make this? What if he could make this masterpiece? Uler would finally be famous. He would finally be able to be worthy of praise. Yes, they would love him.

He set to work experimenting on Pokémon’s minds, unfortunately, his first group of test subjects didn’t make it through the experiment. They died on the table. Uler was greatly disappointed by the failure of his first test, so he made up his mind to do something that no scientist had done before. He would test the experiment on himself. He built a machine that tweaked the nerves of the brain in order to cause loss of nearly all of one’s sense, and used the machine on himself. Uler didn’t die, but he did go crazy. He went crazy for fame and the fame that would come with the capture of the legendaries. He wanted to catch those Legendaries, so he could use his experiment on them. How powerful they would be. Then he could kill those that laughed at him. Yes, he would have his revenge.

He continued to experiment on Pokémon and then locked them away in cages. The experiment didn’t only make them crazy; it also made them look it. They would grow skinnier, their eyes would grow glazed over, and they would grow extra appendages, spikes, random features. Their colors would get darker, their fur coarse. They ended up looking like demented monsters. Not Pokémon. If you looked at them, they looked as they would kill you. Their looks weren’t the only thing that was changed. They also gained new powers, things that were unleashed by their pure insanity. These new found powers were used to get what they wanted, even if they couldn’t remember what they did want. Some of the experiments also caused the Pokémon to speak human languages, though not always English.

The experiments came in three forms. Some of them were sensible even in insanity. They could come up with plans for escape, think of logical next steps, and carry them out without failure. These were uncommon, but they were a result that was considered a failure that needed to be terminated. They were a result of the wrong part of the brain being tweaked. Their appearance was far more changed than their sanity. Others were so insane that they killed whatever they wanted for whatever reason happened to pop into mind at the time. They were the kind that laughed as they killed the Pokémon in the cage with them that had earlier been they’re only friend. They too, escaped. For Uler could not control them. These were the hardest to care for and the hardest to control. They are considered the biggest success however. They are the ones Uler’s machine worked on the most. The very last kind seemed to be unable to remember anything about themselves. They got crazy when certain words are said - things are seen, or memories triggered. They are normally shy or cowardly, preferring to hide from their enemies. This kind is hard to find, as they are hidden often. They are the most loyal of all the experiments that are somewhat a success. They’re memories were somehow hit by the machine, causing the loss of precious moments.

Overjoyed with the success of his experiment, Uler named his creation “The Maddened”. He showed the Maddened to a group of scientists who were appalled at his creation, fore he had taken Pokémon and made monsters. They bashed him, calling him a mad man and a psycho. Uler didn’t take well to this. In fact, he decided that he needed a few partners to help him make his Maddened appear all over the world. He had his loyal Maddeneds tie up the five scientists and used his machine on them. They too became insane, losing every ounce of sense they had made them love his experiment. They all wanted in on it, just as he had planned. He gave them each two or three Maddeneds and made them each a machine. He told them to spread out to different parts of the world and set up labs there.

Soon, there were areas of the world where the plants had died. The trees were broken and bent over making the areas themselves looked insane. The Maddeneds thrived in these areas: the giant circles of craziness. Normal Pokémon had fled or been killed by the Maddeneds. At the very center of these areas, laid labs- The Mad Labs- there are six of them. Five belong to the five mad scientists. Timothy Nau controls the first lab; he experiments on mostly Grass type Pokémon. Fredrick Thermon controls the second lab and specializes in Fire type Maddeneds. May McMayon controls the third lab and is most commonly seen making Water type Maddeneds. Jung Barnes is in charge of lab number four; he is in charge of creating mostly Ground type Maddeneds. Arlene Walker watches over lab five, she makes Electric type Maddeneds. The sixth, and original, lab is in the possession of Jacob Uler himself. He creates mostly Physic type Maddeneds. They all specialize in one type, but they make them all.

Your story is something different; you are a trainer. Your original plan was to beat all of the gyms and the elite four, but then you heard about the Maddeneds. Your curiosity led you to wonder why Uler was creating them; you began to wonder if he would ever stop. It was then you decided that someone had to stop Uler and the mad scientists. No one else would do it, so you took it upon yourself. You would stop Uler, someone had to. So you decided to use his power against him; you would use the Maddeneds to defeat Uler. So you set out to catch a Maddened, and when you did, you could use it to defeat Uler.

The Maddened circles are all located in Kanto Region:
Mt Moon- Jacob Uler’s circle
Route 4-Fredrick Thermon’s circle
Route 3- Timothy Nau’s circle
Pewter City- Jung Barnes’s circle
Cerulean City- Arlene Walker’s circle
Route 24 and 25- May McMayon’s circle
(everyone is starting in Celadon City)

LET THE GAME BEGIN!

Derek sighed as he sat down on the cushy sofa and proceeded to take a large swig from his canteen. The air conditioned atmosphere of the poke'mon center cooled the beads of perspiration that had formed on his lightly tanned skin. He drifted off into thought as he waited for the center to heal his friends. He had been traveling for three years since his fifteenth birthday when he started this journey. Now eighteen and much more mature than when he started, he reflected on these past years. He had obtained many new friends than just Jack, who he had started with. Abby, Gunner, and George, he had met all of them in very interesting ways.

About a year ago, he had heard of these "maddened". It had certainly explained what was wrong with Jack and why he was so demented. Derek was a kind man and didn't like to see anyone suffer, and when he had heard of the sickening experiments these scientists were running, he knew he had to do something to stop him. Although this was what he wanted to do, he had not been very successful. Derek wasn't that good of a trainer, he had never wanted to travel and try and get the gym badges. All he wanted to do was fish everywhere in the world, but his father said he need to do both. So here he was, sitting in a poke'mon center in the middle Celedon city wanting to stop a bad guy when he didn't even have a single badge to show of his power. He felt like a joke.

He suddenly snapped out of his reverie when Nurse Joy indicated that his partners were ready to go. He stood up, brushed off his pants, and put away his canteen that had lain forgotten in his hand up until that moment. As he walked over to the counter, he wondered what new adventure would come his way next and if he would get any good fishing done soon.

“Are you sure you’re going to be okay?”

Ty sighed. He had been over the procedure twenty three times exactly, and he knew exactly what to do. It was, credit due, and excellent plan. Chad truly was an outstanding scientist. Not only that, but he had managed to capture 5 Maddeneds over the years. Ty just wished he wasn’t so worrisome.

“I am sure, Chad. Now, give me Pidgeot, I need to get there before the wind passes.” Ty said irritably.

Chad nodded. He summoned a Poke ball from his belt, and instantly a large brown bird appeared. Its head had very long, red and orange hair that made it look intimidating. Ty boarded it and checked to see that he had everything. Three Poke balls and an Ultra Ball lay in his backpack. Next to them was a sketchbook and a bag of pens. He tugged twice on the Pidgeots hair, and in an instant he was off. Chad waved goodbye to him and he nodded back.

As soon as he reached the height of the Cinnabar Mansion, he felt the wind. His hat almost blew off as the powerful gust lifted Pidgeot into the sky. Everything was going to plan. Next stop was Celadon City, where he would meet Chad’s friend Boris, a scientist who was studying the Maddeneds. His Gliscor was to be taken there to be researched by the man. Ty had had his doubts about reaching Celadon City from Cinnabar Island in one day, but Chad had assured him and he now could see that this wind would get him there in no time. He gazed at the ocean, remembering Canalave City, his home. At this moment he whipped out his sketchbook.

When he took it out he accidently nudged one of the Poke balls. Instantly, a small, acorn like Pokémon appeared. A scarf was wrapped around its body, and it fluttered in the wind. This Pokémon was a Seedot. It jumped out and threw a pinecone at Ty, only to see it fly away in the wind. Defeated, it returned to its Poke ball.

Ty sketched the ocean, glittering mysteriously in the sunlight. Although the intense wind made it exceedingly difficult to paint, he was quite happy with his work, and stashed it in his backpack. Pidgeot touched down at Celadon City, and Ty hopped off, bidding it farewell as it flew off to its trainer.

Goodbye, he thought, Farewell.

Kari walked slowly through Celadon City, just looking at the buildings and watching to people. She felt a giggle come from he throat. She hadn't been in town for a good meal since the last time it rained. That had been a good time ago, the Maddened Circles seemed to effect that somewhat. She sighed at that thought.

"How am I going to do this? I know I can't fight off a group of Maddened, not even if I let Cypher out of his pokeball," she mumbled to herself. At the mention of his name, the unruly Maddened burst out of his pokeball with a loud pop. He cackled and began to spout off random nonsense in Spanish. Kari growled under her breath and hit the pokemon in the head with her back pack.

"Bad Cypher! Get back in your pokeball this instant before people start staring at me! NOW you brat!" She continued to hit him until finally giving up and pulling out another pokeball. She threw it down and Boom appeared at his full height. His size casted a shadow over the smaller scyther, yet it only fell to the ground laughing and pointing with its blade. The tyranitar gave a low groan and lifted the creature with his tail as it continued to cackle loudly. He looked to Kari and gave a "hmph" noise. Kari noddedand threw the ball back at her Spanish speaking scyther. It was captured back inside the ball, yet a slight laugh could be heard from within it when Kari held it to her ear.

She looked to Boom and smiled,
"Thanks Boom. He just loves to pop out whenever he wants, catching him with just a pokeball was not the best idea. Anyway, Let's keep moving! We should probably get to the Pokemon Center to heal him up after my whacking him a few to many times... Plus, you could all use some healing." She laughed somewhat and turned around. Several people were staring at her. She blushed somewhat, "They think I'm weird..."

She took off in a run to avoid the stares; Boom struggling behind her to keep up. She closed her eyes somewhat, but then felt herself falling. She looked up just in time to see what she had tripped over, a young boy that looked a fisherman. She let out a slight scream as she saw the ground getting closer.

Ty turned around just to see a girl fall flat on her face, a large Tyranitar behind her. People were staring at her, as if something strange had just happened. Not wanting to get involved, Ty turned toward the direction of Boris the scientist’s house.

He trudged along the pavement, ignoring passersby. One woman waved hello to him. He turned around and stared at her with his cold blue eyes. Immediately she gasped, and left him alone, for fear of him. Keeping his head down, he proceeded to walk along to Boris’ address. He stopped when he caught sight of it. He rubbed his eyes in disbelief

The house was on fire. It was half burned to the ground. You could already see it had been a bungalow, and that the man inside was dead and burning. Ty shook his head. Now how would he contact Chad? What would he do with Ky? He turned around and headed to the Pokémon center, where they most likely had a video phone. He cursed himself for not bringing his cell.

Behind the burning house, stood a deformed Magmortar…

Eli crouched outside the city looking over the bustling metropolis from a large hill. HE gave a sigh as he got up and turned to the two beasts behind him. One was a gigantic dragon, whose scales were a deep blue hue. Red wings shone in the sunlight as he gave a smile to his trainer. Who seemed almost half awake from the looks of things. The Dragon's name was Basilisk, the Salamance.

The other one had a bit more of an intellectual look on his face, the Mushroom cap atop his head shaded his eyes slightly. Obviously a Breloom by appearance and it's gait. However, this was no ordinary Breloom, this was Constantius, the maddened. His four arms swayed as he walked, slightly less bulky than a Machamp. The spore spheres dotting his body shook as he approached Eli. The maddened spoke with a heavy English accent.
"Well, are we going to get going or Wot?" Constantius inquired, Eli put his hand to his chin,
"Are you absolutely Positive that some of the members from your Hinduist organization fled here?" Eli spoke, he seemed tense about the idea of bringing Constantius to such a large city, it would seem to him the tolerance of Maddened varied from place to place. And Celadon just seemed like the kind of area that would gawk at such a mutant.

"Look," The Breloom began a little triad, "Celadon is the Hub of Kanto essentially, it's such a large city that I'm sure the chances of at least one of my men fleeing to here is more than 80%. Besides, do you have any better ideas?"
Eli had a prideful smirk on his face,
"Of course! How about we go into a Maddened infested zone, train till our joints bleed, and then knock Uler's lights out?" Constantius gritted his teeth at this, things got along such much better when his parter didn't think he was the greatest thing on earth.
"While your, how shall I put it, 'Team' of loosely confederated problem Pokemon is certainly powerful, it will take much more to knock out Uler. I can see why you'd want to take out the main man, so that all the smaller pieces will crumble, correct?" Constantius asked, waiting for a reply before continuing his rebuttal. Eli rolled his eyes and nodded. Constantius ignored the body language and continued, "Well, the source is going to be impossible TO take out with all the smaller minions guarding it, so we round up my old rebels, and sock it to Uler's henchmen, before blasting Uler himself." The mutated Breloom finished, finally stopping the multiple hand gestures he had been doing with all four arms, it certainly added to his speech abilities.

Eli sighed,
"Fine, I suppose." He turned around to look over the chaotic city again. The young man opened his mouth to speak once more before Basilisk gave a roar, and gestured in the direction of a certain burning building.
"Holy...Nice eyes Basilisk! Sorry Constantius, your Hindu friends will have to wait. I'm going to go see if anybody is left in that smoldering wood heap. I might even make the Celadon papers if we save somebody, come on!" The trainer took off running down the hill.

Constantius was fuming, but then quickly calmed down, he supposed saving a few human lives along the way wouldn't hurt their mission. Though if only Eli was in it for simply that. He knew as well as anyone that the Trainer was merely taking the chance to win a little bit of prestige. The maddened shrugged his four arms, and bounced down the hillside.

Eli juggled his Pokeballs looking for Panzer's, by the time he had made it there, the Jewish man had indeed found his Blastoise's Pokeball, however, Eli simply stopped. For a few seconds the trainer just stared at the spellbinding flames, sending out his timid Blastoise while still in this almost trance like state...

Derek gathered up his pokeballs from Nurse Joy, blushing slightly when she said she hoped to see him again. He knew that she said that to everyone, but he was just so bad with girls they could say anything to make him nervous. Still caught in his thoughts, he turned to exit the center. He winced his eyes as the bright sun glared into his eyes when he walked out of the automatic doors.

Still squinting from the suns cruel rays, he couldn't really see where he was going. All of a sudden, a warm body crashed into him sending the person and his pokeballs that he had been cradling in his arms flying into the air. Quickly he kicked into fisherman mode, his adrenaline rushed and his muscles tensed as he readied for action. He quickly caught the falling person with is right arm while simultaneously catching his falling pokeballs with his left arm.

"Are you okay?" Derek said in a slightly husky voice, the voice of a boy just turned man.

Once he calmed down enough to get a glance at the person whom he had saved from a fate of crashing into the ground, he almost dropped them. Looking back up at him with large hazel eyes was a lanky girl with short choppy hair. His heart started to race in his rib cage and as his pulse quickened, he realized that she was very cute. Knowing that he was starting to stare and not do anything but hold her in his arm, he quickly put her back on her feet and blushed as he asked her again, "Are you okay?"

Kari turned very red. This nice guy had just caught her. She blushed a little bit nodding more to herself than to him and watching and Boom came sauntering up.He looked down at her with questioning eyes, then to Derek. He shrugged and sat down near by waiting patiently.

"I'm fine, thanks. That was so cool!" Kari did a slight spin as she commented on the boys actions, "first you caught me and then those pokeballs and you're really cool! My name's Kari!" She smiled wide and giggled slightly. This boy was so awesome. Then again, almost everyone was awesome to her. She did another slight turn and began to rant somewhat,

"What's your name? Like I said, mine's Kari. I'm out here wandering about looking to defeat Uler. Oops, I shouldn't have said that, oh well! The tyranitar over there is mine. His name is Boom. I've had him since I was three! Are you a trainer? You kind of look like a fisherman..." She widened one of her eyes at that. She blushed slightly when she realized that she had just completely invaded this poor boy's personal space. She backed up with a giggle and looked to Boom, who just rolled his eyes.

(This is a common thing in the story. You're allowed to be in the Point of view of a Pokemon, in order to do this, do as I am)
--Boom's Point of View--
Boom glared down at his master as she spun in circles like a little girl. She was far to old to act that way, then again, it made her much easy to tolerate. Or maybe harder to tolerate. Boom crossed his arms in a bodyguard-like way. He sniffed the air for a moment. There was definitely smoke in the air. He just put his head down and looked at the boy who had so kindly caught his master. He seemed awkward.

"This guy seems alright. I won't kill him, yet."

--Back to Kari--
Kari did another spin and looked around. She suddenly realized she had been talking non-stop and hadn't given the boy a chance to answer a single question she asked.

"I'm sorry. I should probably calm down, huh?"

Kfira (Kif) Ferrer
with Odette the Meowth

The Celadon City Gambling Corner: a playground for adults. This place was full of shady figures, strange men who gambled their days away in hopes of hitting the big jackpot. However, a few honest people sat at the slots, or around the card tables, simply passing the time as they silently hoped they'd get lucky. One such person was a young lady named Kfira Ferrer. She sat hunched over upon one of the 1-coin slot machines - the cheapest in the whole corner - with a tiny Meowth perched upon her head. Her thick brown hair fell around her face, hiding her scars from anyone who may be looking. She concentrated deeply as she watched the reels spin. The Meowth on her head, Odette, also watched the reels with intense curiosity.

Click, click, clank! In close succession, Kif pulled the lever, stopping each reel. She grinned from underneath her hair and muttered a "Yes!" - on the screen, three Poliwag could be seen in a perfect horizontal line. That was a fifty-coin payout! The coins started to flow out, catching the attention of the Meowth. She mewled loudly and jumped down into Kif's lap, pawing at the stream of shiny coins as they came out of the machine. The girl's smile widened at the sheer cuteness of her dear Odette. After the coins had all come out and cease to amuse the cat Pokemon as they had while moving, Kif scooped them up into her coin case.

She sighed in relief - the case would count her coins up for her, which was wonderful considering her collection. After spending the day puttering around the slots, she had managed to collect 1,034 coins. Her good flips at the card table had certainly helped with that amount, too... in fact, the other players had kicked her out because they thought she was cheating. She wasn't, of course. She was just particularly lucky today... A bad sign, Kif thought to herself as she took the case up to the window. I usually have terrible luck, or moderate luck maybe. This has got to be some kind of omen.

Whistling happily, Kfira placed the small, cylindrical case on the desk. For one thousand coins... she couldn't get much, sadly. But there was no point saving her coins since she would leave soon, so she looked anyway. She didn't need any TMs, and all the Pokemon were far too expensive (and she wasn't interested in collecting them anyhow). So what was available? After a moment of deliberation, Kif asked the attendant to hand her an adorable and very soft Eevee plushie. If nothing else, Odette would probably like sleeping with it. Besides, it was cute. So she paid the attendant her due 1,000 coins and took the plushie, walking idly out of the Game Corner. A good day altogether, she mused, hugging her new plush as Odette looked down curiously from her usual perch upon her trainer's head.

As she walked, Kif noticed something strange. From a small distance away, there was a column of smoke rising. That couldn't possibly be good, she thought with a mutter. Odette mewled quietly, sensing her trainer's distress. The city was too crowded to let Leonardo out... so she kept Odette alone for company. Still, that smoke stack was bothering her. Curiosity got the better of the chocolate-haired young woman as she walked briskly toward the source of the smoke, her blue-eyed Meowth watching the people around them.

((Kif is not dead-set against Maddeneds and honestly doesn't know what they are. She ran into Jaser, but she didn't explore too terribly much after a really nasty Maddened bug thingy attacked her while she was drawing. xD Liberties were taken with the Game Corner.))

((OOC: Krug, I assume that the building is the one I described...
Also, I am making up the Pokémon Center fire department; it’s something you can just assume exists))

At the Pokémon center, Ty walked casually up to the nurse at the front desk. Of course, this is not normally what you would do when a house is on fire, but Ty didn’t want everyone looking at him.

He said in a calm voice, “There is a house on fire up the road; we need someone to put it out.”

The nurse, however, freaked out, immediately calling the Pokémon Center fire department, and screaming FIRE! FIRE! Instantly, two uniform clad men rushed out, accompanied by two Floatzels. Ty slapped his forehead as he saw the nurse hyperventilating. He followed the fire department, leaving a confused crowd of onlookers to stare at the nurse, who had passed out on the floor.

From the back of the house, Ty caught a glimpse of a mutated Magmortar. Its entire body was a dark red, contradictory to the light, fiery red of most Magmortars. It was about twice Ty’s height, standing taller than the building but unnoticed by the firefighters, due to it being in the shade. The arm that acts like a cannon for most Magmortars is now iron-clad, and much larger than the other arm, that seemingly hadn’t changed. Ty saw the fire department too far away for him to warn them, as the Magmortar began to launch fire…

As soon as Derek set the girl back on her feet, she was immediately off like a fire cracker. She was spinning and twirling while also chatting a mile a minute. He managed to catch her name through the wave of information she was throwing at him. Kari, he thought that was quite a pretty name. A pretty name for a pretty girl. He also caught something about a guy named Uler, it sounded familiar, but he really couldn't dwell on that thought for very long.

Suddenly something hit him like a ton of bricks, she had said he was cool. Exclaiming about his feat of catching her while also catching his pokeballs, she twirled around and around like she was so excited about that. A girl had never said he was cool, well a girl had never talked to him so he couldn't have really ever been called cool by a girl. He realized that it was nice and he like the thought of being "cool".

His head started to spin a bit as she continued to invade him personal space and talk his ear off. His body began to feel warm, especially around his cheeks. He noticed her voice began to grow faint as if she was walking away from him. The sky also suddenly came into his vision. The last thought that passed through is mind before he hit the ground was that the girl's tyranitar looked slightly scary.

Derek lay passed out on the ground, he had fainted from the excitement Kari had induced in him. When he had hit the ground, one of his pokeballs had been released. All of a sudden, George decided to pop out of his pokeball. The two headed magikarp flopped about on the ground both heads alternating a phrase of "Karp, Karp, Karp!" If Derek had been conscious for any of this, he would have felt very uncool.

Kari stared as Derek fell to the ground. She stared for a moment before looking to Boom. She then got teary eyed.

"Oh no! What if he's sick! Maybe he needs and insulin shot! Or iron! Get me a banana! Wait bananas don't have iron... Boom! What should I do! Is that a two headed magikarp?!" She directed herself to George. "Wow! That's really cool! This guy is pretty neat, huh Boom?" Boom rolled his eyes at his master with a slight "hrumph."

"Wake up mister... Mister... Hello... Wake up!" Kari giggled and sang, "Why don't you put on a little make up!" She stopped. "I need to stop listening to System of a Down..." She then seemed to have an idea out of no where.

"You! Magikarp! Use water gun on your master to wake him up!" She yelled with enthusiasm. George just flopped up and down retarded-like. Kari sighed, "Oh right, it's a Magikarp..." She pulled out a pokeball and threw it in the air.

Joker popped out with a flip and landed on his front legs in a sort of hand stand. He smiled at his master, then Boom, who simply glared. The Vaporeon just swished his tail and looked questioningly at his master. Kari patted him on the head and pointed to Derek's out cold form.

"He's kinda dead. Wake him up please."

--Joker's Point of Veiw--
"Oh heck no. What do you think I am, some sort of hose? I don't go around wasting my water power on imbeciles. So what makes you think I would waste it on him?" He mumbled to himself. Boom snorted loudly.

"You heard her Joker, do it now, or you face me," the Tyranitar growled. Joker mocked him somewhat under his voice before releasing a small stream of cold water on Derek's face. He then stood proud and gave a "hmph."

"Foolish human boy can't even look at our low classed master without fainting."

--Back to Kari--
Kari held out a cookie for Joker, who of course turned his nose up at the offer. She sighed and tossed it to Boom who caught the small object with a snap of his jaws.

"Are you awake now Mister?"

(OOC: Yep, that's the one. BTW I'll be doing my Pokemon in First Person to mix it up a bit from the main point of view.)

The pokeball dropped to the ground, and with a flash of white light, a weary blue turtle sprang out. It looked from one side to the other, first at the Fire, then at the oncoming Firemen. Back and forth, back and forth, its head turned in a constant rhythm.
"Great, here come the Professionals..." Eli groaned, it would seem that he wouldn't be making a stake in the news today. However, his thoughts were cut short, when Panzer, as always had his breakdown...

----Panzer's Point of View------
"FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRE! FIRE FIRE FIRE!" I panicked, my skin crawling with anticipation. I was supposed to be a water pokemon, but most other Water types were too stupid to realize they could get burnt too! If I were still a Squirtle, I could have gone all the way back into my shell and hid. However, those days were now behind me. So instead, I merely put my hands to my face, hunch over, and shake. With one eye peeking out, I saw the commotion, thank Arceus I wasn't part of it. Firemen rushing in, facing death head on even! My master, Eli was yelling at me, I could care less what rabble he was saying though. I'm SAFE! That's all that matters right? So what if other Blastoise are strong, and brave, I'll LIVE LONGER! Hah ha-

A sudden shockwave caught my attention, as it did Eli's. My master turned to the Firemen, now running in fear as explosions of flame seemed to shoot from nowhere! I gasped and stumbled backwards in shock.
-----Regular POV-------

Eli growled slightly at Panzer as he fell. Somewhere in his soul, Eli had a place for his problematic pokemon. But usually the Blastoise was a burden, only rarely showing his true potential. Besides, Eli had to focus on the Firemen, something with an uncanny aim was shooting balls of fire right for them. They scattered before finishing the fight against the Flame. Constantius hopped right next to Eli, in front of Panzer, and Basilisk flew in behind them.

"Well, those Bloody Flames sure are out of control." The Quad-Armed Breloom gritted his teeth in the heat. Eli simply stared at the wreckage gone out of control.
"Something's in there, something smart, shooting Fireballs at the Firemen." Eli turned to his Partner, explaining the situation.
"Well then, I suppose you could send i-" Before Constantius could finish, two more Balls of Fire shot from the Inferno. The trainer and his maddened quickly rolled out for the way. Panzer gave a Reptillian yelp as the flames crackled before him.

Eli turned to Basilisk, flying above him now,
"Basilisk, you're the most Flame Resis-" The dragon just gave him that look, and Panzer was a mess, so this meant only Two usable ones remained.

"Alright! LETS DO THIS! Queenie, Duce, come!" Eli threw his Pokeballs to the ground, the Vulgar Toad and Scrappy Dog materialized. Seeing them as a challenge, the mysterious fireball arsonist leaped from the fire.

Before Eli's gang stood a horribly mutated Magmortar. Lurching to them in a Battle ready stance. The trainer gave a Glare, this was going to be quite the show...

Pokemon Petter
((OOC: For everyone who is battling Magmortar, it is a Blood Thirsty Maddened and I do not plan on catching it.
lol, 'thank arceus'))

The Magmortar was shooting balls of flame at the Firemen and their Floatzels. Although it had little effect on them due to being water type or wearing fire suits, it was distracting them from the building.

Ty looked at the Magmortar. He did not know what to use. Wy would be too big for the city, and Sy was no match for a maddened fire type. Zy would be weak to fire as well, and Ky would freak out.

Sighing, Ty decided to summon Zy. Hopefully is anger against all fire types would prove helpful for once. He ran over in a good position, only to see a second trainer with a Granbull and a Toxicroak ready to fight the beast. Too late, Ty was in mid- throw and Zy was out already.

The metal Pokémon hovered about a foot in the air. It was large and shaped almost like a bell. On its face, strange patterns that looked somewhat like eyes were drawn. Its large metal arms spread out and shone in the reflection of the fire.

----Zy’s POV----
Zy took a good look at his surroundings. Then he noticed fire. He hated fire. He would destroy fire!!!

Instantly, he saw a large red Pokémon. Fire was being produced from its arms. He used his psychic powers to levitate it off the ground. Struggling with its weight, it faltered, but then continued to raise it.

Then, he realized the others. One looked like a large dog, the other like a frog. They had battle ready looks on their faces, and Zy thought they were going to attack him. He began lifting these two in the air as well. He heard his master’s voice, “NO!” but he had to. These Pokémon were helping fire, and fire must be destroyed!

Under just the weight of the Fire- maker, Zy had been fine, but with the additional weight of the frog and dog, he weakened, and dropped all three from the sky, back on to the ground before he blacked out…

Liam was excited as he strolled down the bustling Celadon streets. It was his first time ever in Celadon and he loved it, everything was so...clean. A stark contrast from the filthy maddenned enclosures he now spent most of his days cleaning; it wasn't nice work but he enjoyed being around the pokemon so he didn't complain. He stopped briefly at a small cantine and bought a fresh doughnut, it was delicious; crispy on the outside but soft, sweet and chewy inside. He could feel one of the pokeballs around his waist rapidly vibrating and writhing. "Alright Ruby, outcha com then." he said with a submissive sigh, throwing the pokemon into the air there was a brief flash of red light before a small Vulpix took shape on the street. She immediately began sniffing around yapping excitedly and rudely barging past people in the street, Liam tried in vain to get her to return but being the self-preocuppied pokemon she was, Ruby would not come back.

After fifteen minutes of rather embarrasingly chasing a small Vulpix around the city Ruby decided she'd had enough and ran back to Liam. Or so he thought, as he bent down to praise her for coming back she snatched another pokeball from around his belt, running off so that Liam couldn't catch her she released Slink, her favourite playmate. When Liam saw Ruby come around the corner, along with Slink, he went mad. Slink was a Zorua, an incredibly rare pokemon and one that his mother had warned him the mad scientists would try to steal. Yet here was his Vulpix was parading him around Celadon city. Slink seemed to sense his anger and reluctantly withdrew into his Pokeball, Ruby however was outraged that Slink had defied her and refused to return to Liam.

------From Ruby's point of view-----

"That insolent rat! How dare he return, we were having such fun playing adn yet whenever the oversized oaf over there calls him he runs back without a whim. Can't he see that I'm more important!" Ruby huffed furiously, she herself had no intention of going back to her master when he wanted. She'd go back when she felt like it. Although she was adamant to defy her master she never truly strayed far from him, as she lead him round one corner a familiar and revolting scent filled her nose...Vaporeon. She bounded off down the street, determined to pursue the smell and dispose of the disgusting cretin.

-------Back to Liam------

Ruby barked furiously and raced off down the street in furious determination, Liam tried and tried to call her back but she was having none of it; did she ever listen to what he said or was he chasing a lost cause? He rounded one more corner and fell flat on his face after tripping over the bristling Vulpix; she was snarling loathingly at a Vaporeon standing over the body of a young woman who was helping up a young man, just awakening? "I am so, so sorry." Liam cried "I'm Liam, and errr...this is Ruby my devilish Vulpix." He quickly grabbed the troublesome pokemon and returned her to the ball on his belt. 'God I hope nobody noticed Slink.' The thought struck his mind as he finally caught his breath, looking wearily up at the striking girl.

Everything was very dark, but Derek could hear the voice of Kari asking him if he was okay and various other statements he couldn’t really understand. Even though he could hear some of what was being said, he couldn’t respond to them. Then all of a sudden an ice cold stream of water splattered into his face ripping him out of his blackout. He let out a very feminine shriek as he bolted upright and proceeded to shiver. As he came to his senses, he noticed that George had somehow managed to release himself from his poke’ball, and he was flopping around in a very retarded manor.

There goes any coolness I had,’ Derek thought. 'Oh well, I knew it wasn’t going to last long anyways.

He was jerked out of his thoughts as he heard Kari asking him if he was alright. He immediately blushed at the thought of such a pretty girl worrying if he was injured or not.

“Y-y-yes, I-I’m fine. T-t-thanks for as-k-king,” he managed to stutter out.

Whether he was stuttering from the cold shower he just received or because of the beautiful girl gracing him with her presence, no one would know. He scratched the back of his head as he simultaneously returned George back to his poke’ball. Derek always wonder why he would keep that retarded oaf around, but then he would see George’s two heads and be reminded of how cool that having two heads is even if it was just a Magikarp.

Suddenly, a group of people came bustling out of the center he had just exited and they were yelling something about a fire. He swiveled his head around looking for the source of the “fire”, neither sensing nor seeing anything, he shrugged figuring it was just the cruel prank of some dumb kids with nothing better to do than waste the time of the local authorities. Derek really disliked people who did things without thinking of the consequences that would come later on.

Directing his attention away from the people running down the street, he noticed a random man coming around the corner chasing a very angry looking Vulpix. The man then proceeded to trip over the aforementioned Vulpix and go hurdling towards the harsh and unforgiving pavement. Derek winced as he hit the concrete, but he almost immediately got up and introduced himself as Liam. He also mentioned that his Vulpix was named Ruby as he put her back in her poke’ball. Her name seemed unfitting for such a feisty poke’mon. Also her attitude was very uncharacteristic of most Vulpix as they tended to be loving and adorable. There was something that bothered Derek about Liam. He seemed like he was hiding something, and he didn’t want anyone to find out again. Derek didn’t dwell on this idea for very long and decided he would think about something else.

Derek once again found himself wandering in the land of endless thoughts. Who were these people? Would they become his friends? All questions that he hoped would be answered in due time. He had always traveled alone although he had attempted to make friends. Unfortunately, they ran away from him as soon as he decided to let Jack out of his poke’ball. Derek really hoped that these people wouldn’t be like that.

Kari smiled as Derek woke up. She was glad that he wasn't dead. Something caught her attention though, a barking. What was that? She turned to see a Vulpix barking wildly at Joker. She stared at the creature for a moment until its master came up and introduced himself as Liam. Kari watched as he returned the Vulpix he had mentioned was named Ruby. She smiled at Derek and him at the same time.

"I'm meeting lots of fun people today! Hello Mr. Liam, I'm Kari. This is Derek. I just ran into him. He's really cool. You look cool too. So that was your Vulpix, hm?" She looked up at Boom who just grunted. She then looked to Joker who seemed upset for some odd reason. She patted his head and looked back to Liam.

"The big one is Boom, and this little guy is Joker," she glanced to Derek, "Joker is the one who woke you up! I think he likes you!" At that Joker spit a small stream of water at Derek's face with a very bored expression. Kari giggled and looked to Liam. She then noticed that she was the only one sitting on the ground.

"Oh wow, I feel super short now, but I am short compared to you guys." She stood brushing herself off. She looked to Joker who simply barked and walked over to Liam and sat next to him. "I wish I knew what he's thinking..."

--Joker's Point of View--
Why had this new boy put up that simply gorgeous Pokemon. She was absolutely beautiful. She didn't deserve to be cooped up in that tiny ball. He leaped in air, snagging the ball from Liam's belt and grinned wagging his tail.

"Oh ho! Now I am the winner! Now how do I open this silly thing..."

Boom laughed in the background and Joker simply huffed.

--Back to Kari--
Kari watched as Joker stole the pokeball from Liam. She stared for a moment before realizing what just happened. She got up and chased Joker in several circles yelling at him.

"Joker you rotten brat! Give that back to Mr. Liam! It's his!" It sounded somewhat like Joker laughed. "I said give it back Joker! It's not funny!" She tripped and fell on the poor creature who dropped the ball. They both gave a groan.

"Owww...," Kari mumbled angrily. She grabbed the ball and handed it to Liam. She had a good bit of dirt on her from falling, but seemed fine. "Sorry..." She looked at Joker and shook a finger at him, but he just rolled his eyes. She giggled somewhat and glanced at the two boys before hugging both of them.

"New friends! I haven't gotten to talk to people in forever!" She spun in a circle before an idea came to her mind. "Hey, do you to wanna have a battle! It would be fun! I'll go easy on you! I promise! Oh please please please!" She smiled wide and clutched her hands together.

She returned Joker to his pokeball. She pulled out another and looked at it for a moment as if thinking. She threw it on the ground and it took a good five seconds to react. Then it busted open to show the small form of Skritch the Sandshrew. He looked up and down before staring expectantly at Derek. Kari giggled at the funny creature.

"Even better idea! If you don't wanna battle, then do you guys wanna help me fight Uler! I can't do it alone..." She watched as Skritch grew closer to Derek, eyes widening. Kari made a face that was trying to hide her laughter.

"If you don't wanna travel with me, that would be sad..." She snickered a little, "But I would be okay. And... And...." She busted out laughing as Skritch got even closer to Derek. "H-He thinks you have Candy!" She laughed harder. Then noticed that the others must think her very strange.

"Um, yea, anyway. Traveling, battling, all of the above?" She smiled. Boom face palmed at his masters silliness. Skritch just continued to beg for candy.

Not a Seadra
Kfira (Kif) Ferrer
and Odette the Meowth

Within a short time, Kfira arrived at the source of the fire. Around it, people panicked, as the fire department's sirens rang out. Calm as usual, she stood her ground, just outside of the manic crowd as she watched. It seemed like a normal enough scenario, she observed carefully. Odette also watched with wide eyes; she let out a small mewl as she stared at the fire. However, Kif's eyes were not surprised; rather, they were discerning and sharp. Years of adventuring had indeed honed the woman's eyes and reflexes, giving her especially sharp senses.

She jerked back slightly when fireballs started to rain from the house. Odette shrieked and clawed her way into her trainer's jacket, where Kfira held her carefully. What was going on here? The crowd begun to disperse in fear, but Kif stood ever-still, her eyes fixated on the scene. Two trainers were fighting against... something in the shade. As soon as she realized an enemy was near, her sharp brown eyes met with the deformed Magmortar beside the house: the origin of the fire. The woman's body tensed; so they were fighting against this thing... was it like Jaser, mutated? It had to be; she had traveled to a volcano once and seen a wild Magmortar... she withdrew her sketchbook in one fluid motion, and observed the differences from her drawing and the creature present.

No doubt about it, Kif thought with clenched teeth, something was wrong with this thing. These trainers didn't seem to be getting along at all... one's Brozong stopped the other's Granbull and Toxicroak, completely screwing up the battle. She tensed further; they would never win like this! At that, the Bronzong had now passed out, and wouldn't be useful anyhow. Kif hugged the shivering Odette closer to herself as her good hand fuddled around her belt for the rather ordinary pokeball she kept Leonardo in. Jaser was a Shuckle, which made him somewhat weak to fire... besides, he was a cowardly thing, and probably couldn't fight anyway. Leonardo may have also been fire-type, but he was brutally strong (since he was Kif's only real protector)... She replaced the sketchbook as she grabbed the pokeball, cursing her kind nature that she couldn't possibly walk away from this fire knowing its cause.

Kfira held the Arcanine's pokeball in her right hand as she ran up beside the boy who had released the now-fainted Bronzong. She kept her Meowth close to her chest, inside of her red, green, black, and white plaid flannel jacket, using her left arm (bad wrist inclusive). "Sorry to steal your thunder," she said cooly in his direction, not trying to be snarky (though she may have seemed it). Her dark cocoa colored hair flounced thickly - wild as her style was, it was a wonder it flowed at all - about as she turned her head sharply toward the Magmortar. In a small voice, Kif commented, "I guess we're fighting fire with fire, then, Leo."

She released Leonardo smoothly from his pokeball and gave an exceptionally simple order: "Leonardo! That thing's causing this fire. Take care of it!" - after all, Kif knew a lot less about fighting than her instinct-driven, honed fighter companion. Giving him orders would be an insult to his intelligence more than anything else; he was used to fighting without instruction.

Leonardo the Arcanine

He burst from the pokeball, standing a good foot taller than his already rather tall trainer. The Arcanine immediately hunched down into battle position. So this thing was starting a fire, he thought with a growl. It looked big, but the wolfish Pokemon honestly knew no fear. Leonardo raised his lip in a snarl and rushed forth at the creature using Extremespeed. Its fire attacks didn't hurt him; he was also a creature of fire, of course. As he approached, he calculated at light speed his odds: the creature was a good bit larger than himself, and one arm covered in armor. His offense and defense was all in that arm... so if Leonardo could evade that arm, the rest of the creature would be less than armored.

Running with the speed of a legend, the Arcanine whizzed by the fallen Toxicroak and Granbull, as well as the unconscious Bronzong. The Magmortar was a bit addled from the fall, too, giving him a clean opening. Leonardo barreled wholly into the huge creature, using Take Down to remove whatever balance it might have regained. The creature sat somewhat addled, trying to regain its composure, as Leonardo stood next to it, snarling still.

He turned back to the other pokemon and barked, "Come on now! I shouldn't have to tell you this is a golden opportunity!" Leo's battle voice was coarse and sharp, not unlike his trainer's at all, though his age and sagacity were apparent. He commanded attention, somehow. He circled the Magmortar carefully, eying it for whatever tricks it may have up its sleeve while he caught a breath - after all, the Arcanine had launched two attacks just now, both highly physical. A minuscule breather was in order.

((Leonardo = beatdown. No offense meant by it, since no one else got in a good attack. He had a perfect attack of opportunity with Kif's timing. Krug, you should definitely be able to get in a good hit now. Drifblim, I have a very hard time keeping track of your characters' names. o_o))

Liam was surprised, this girl 'Kari' had taken Ruby's callous interruption very well, in fact she seemed delighted. "New friends! I haven't gotten to talk to people in forever!" She iggled, wildy spinning in circles."Hey, do you to wanna have a battle! It would be fun! I'll go easy on you! I promise! Oh please please please!" Kari burst out again. Liam smiled, he couldn't help but feel happy in the company of such boundless enthusiam. "Even better idea! If you don't wanna battle, then do you guys wanna help me fight Uler! I can't do it alone..." this girl never stopped! "Thats not the kind of thing you want to go around shouting on the streets..." Liam cut her off "Uler is a very 'influential' person, he has contacts everyhwere." The girl seems sad at him scorning her and was staring glumly at the ground. "Hey! I'm sorry, i didn't mean to be so harsh on. It's just i know alot about Uler and its dangerous to say things like that. He'll find you eventually. But as an answer to your question. Yes. I'd love to help you fight Uler." Liam smiled warmly, it would be fun to have some companionship on the long journey ahead. "Now about that battle..." he grinned "I don't think this is really the right place, people would be happy if a stray fireball crahsed through their house. Back home we couldn't let the pokemon fight each other because they were all recovering from the madenning process. So instead we had them race, whoever got round the course fastest won. So...How about it?" He smiley slyly, Slinks ball was vibrating furiously on his belt again so he quickly removed it and put it in his rucksack. "SH!" he whispered fiercly. Slink was easily his fastest Pokemon but he couldn't let him out, Ruby was his next choice. He took out her ball and tossed it casually in the air, waiting for Kari's response.

(Ooc: Yeh if you don't wanna race thats fine, just thought it would be a good thing to do from a Pokemon's perspective.)

Kari's eyes widened at the suggestion. A race? She had never thought of such a thing. it certainly sounded like fun, but would it be fair? Kari looked to her Pokemon. Boom was slow, very slow, and he knew it. So he had to be the worst choice here. She knew joker was fast enough to keep up with a Vulpix, but he would probably cheat. She picked up the pokeball containing the one and only Cypher. She looked at it a moment before putting it up. Cypher was far to crazy to let out. She glanced to Skritch, who was still begging for candy from Derek. Skritch could be fast when he curled into a little ball, but he had a tendency to hit things when doing so. She didn't want to hurt the poor thing. She sighed to herself. That left one choice.

She pulled the last pokeball from her backpack. She looked at it for a moment as a smile came to her face. This won't be very fair, but it will be fun!She looked to Derek, then back to Liam.

"Is he racing too? It would be fun with three of us," she spoke with a small giggle. She patted Skritch on the head and placed the pokeball in hand on the ground. The ball burst open with a shroud of black light. The flash didn't last though, and there stood Rein. He glanced around for a moment, before letting his eyes fall to Liam. He snarled somewhat, but still took the moment to introduce himself.

--Rein's Point of Veiw--
"Good day, sir," Rein spoke with a dark, gravely voice. He bowed somewhat with just his head. Who was his so called master talking to know? He knew far to well that she would talk to a brick wall for the satisfaction of it not leaving as she spoke. He grinned slightly and turned to the other boy, Derek. He nodded to him. His fangs gave him a very dark look, and the grin wasn't helping.

"Kari, what did you feel the need to drag me out here for?" he growled slowly. Then he glanced to the small yellow object that was catching his eye. It was Skritch of course. He flashed the small thing a smile and spoke to it in its native language.

"Hello Skritch, wanna play a game of ball?" He laughed at the creature.

"Shhh. I'm begging for candy. Leave me alone, " The tiny thing replied. Rein just laughed at its sheer inability to do anything useful with its time. Rein shook his long mane and waited for just and moment, before knocking Skritch once in the head. He gave a squeak and curled into a ball. Rein laughed at the reaction. He began to bat the ball around in a bored way.

--Back to Kari--
Kari stared at Rein for a moment. This guy was quite the jerk. She walked over and sat on his back.

"Liam here suggested a race. I thought it sounded like fun. Do you wanna?" She spoke with a smile. Rein looked at her then back to his "Ball." Kari frowned a bit at the reaction. He was always like this, it took him to long to think up an answer to anything.

"Why not," He answered slowly. She jumped off his back and cheered with a spin. She then looked to Liam.

"Alright! It's on!"
