Main In-Game Team (Crystal)

DoubleX

<-- want it
This is the team I used to beat the Elite Four and used in general when I got up to Kanto. Some Pokemon get removed when I'm levelling stuff or hatching eggs and whatnot, but this is my main battling team.

Feraligatr lv. 52 (M) @ Mystic Water
- Bite
- Screech
- Slash
- Surf

Bite is only there because I can't think of anything to put there. Maybe a filler move like Ice Beam.

Arcanine lv. 52 (M) @ Charcoal
- Agility
- Extremespeed
- Flamethrower
- Return

Due to the fact I use this team in the PokeCup in Stadium 2 as well, I put both Return and Extremespeed. Return's power is reset in Stadium 2, so a strong physical move was needed. This moveset is not the best, I can see that.

Gengar lv. 53 (F) @ (No Item) [usually the Amulet Coin, as Gengar's my #1 battler]
- Dream Eater
- Hypnosis
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderpunch

Thunderpunch will be replaced by Thunderbolt when I get around to it. And due to Gengar being Female I can't use my Psychic TM on her, so I have to stick with the Hypnosis/Dream Eater combo.

Golem (M) lv. 53 @ Hard Stone
- Defense Curl
- Earthquake
- Rollout
- Strength

When I can locate my Red or Blue, I'm going to get rid of Rollout and teach it Explosion and Rock Slide in place of Defense Curl and Rollout, but until then, this is Golem's moveset.

Jynx lv. 51 (F) @ NevermeltIce
- Ice Punch
- Lovely Kiss
- Mean Look
- Perish Song

Ice Punch will be replaced with Ice Beam when I can get around to it, like Gengar with Thunderpunch. Mean Look and Lovely Kiss work well in Stadium to get around the Sleep clause, which usually causes whoever I'm facing to switch (like Clair and her Kingdra), and even though it's somewhat of an obvious combo, I haven't used the Mean Look -> Lovely Kiss -> Perish Song combo yet to get a cheap KO.

Sunflora lv. 51 (F) @ Quick Claw
- Growth
- Razor Leaf
- Solar Beam
- Sunny Day

Probably my worst moveset. I don't know why I put Growth in. Growth and Razor Leaf need replacements, definitely. And I'm aware there are better Grass types, but I decided that I'd raise a Sunflora since I'd never raised one before, hence it not being a Vileplume or something.

While the movesets may not be the most optimal ones, I've found that this team and their move typings cover every type but Dark and Normal, and since Dark types are somewhat rare in the game (and in Stadium), and Normal types I can just hit as hard as I can, these two types aren't an issue.

I wonder why Earthquake isn't on here? Feraligatr has MONSTROUS attack so I'd better plant curse over screech and eq over bite here.

I'd plant Body slam in here somewhere (over return), curse over agility and minty rest. It's not like speed matters in GSC.

- Dream Eater

Uh you can also teach psychic to gengar even if it's a she, it's just that nobody cares because it covers nothing. Boom is a much better choice over Dream Eater and Ice Punch rocks also. I personally use Hypnosis/Tbolt/Ice Punch/Boom. Gengar has the sp. atk to do it anyway.

Golem (M) lv. 53 @ Hard Stone
- Defense Curl
- Earthquake
- Rollout
- Strength

When I can locate my Red or Blue, I'm going to get rid of Rollout and teach it Explosion and Rock Slide in place of Defense Curl and Rollout, but until then, this is Golem's moveset.

Curse over strength. Or roar, or Fire Blast if you hate skarm. Body slam > Strength anyway.

Jynx lv. 51 (F) @ NevermeltIce

- Perish Song

Put Psychic over Perish Song and you have my lethal Jynx set ingame

Sunflora lv. 51 (F) @ Quick Claw
- Growth

- Solar Beam
- Sunny Day

I'd never use Sunflora, but Growth is pretty much the only reason you would want to use Sunflora, except Victreebel also learns it and so does Venusaur.

Sunflora sucks so much, I'd put Synthesis over Razor Leaf since you're sunnybeaming anyway, but be aware, this will get its arse kicked within seconds. You're better off planting a Victreebel/Exeggutor/Vileplume/Venusaur/Meganium here.

And you're even better off not sunnybeaming

Without a pseudohazer, you have serious snorlax issues, only golem can really take it on (and not that well if laxen have eq), so I'd probably get round to some more reliable defensive Pokemon or make the team themed around UU, in which case Gengar is the only one you need to drop (although he is pretty cool)
