Majoras Mask Opinions

I just got (after all this time I could have gotten it) Legend of Zelda Majoras Mask. I wanted to ask opinions from people on what they thought about it. I started playing it this morning when it came in the mail. I like it but its very confusing and frustrating. Is it a really good game, and does the game always have the 3 days to do everything in? Cause I am not liking that.

My opinion is its liek the BEST Zelda game ever.. The ability to be a Zora, Deku or Goron is awesome.

O hai you guysh !
It's brilliant, but Ocarina Of Time is the superior.

It was alright. I didn't like the fact that you had to do everything in three days. Like, if you were doing a dungeon and you'd got pretty far in it but you were quite well into the 2nd day, you'd have to go back to the first day and trudge through the dungeon again.

It was a pretty good game, but definately not the best. Zelda goes thusly:

Ocarina of Time > Minish Cap > Wind Waker > A Link to the past (snes or GBA) > Majora's Mask > Original Zelda > Zelda II.

In my opinion, of course - you're all entitled to your own. I just didn't like Majora's mask is all - it just wasn't Zelda.

I bought the game and only played it a single time and have no intention of ever picking it back up and playing it again. =/ What does that tell ya?

The 3 day time thing was a chore and I found myself getting bored with it and taking long breaks. Then at one point I just decided to make myself finish this really tedious game.

To me, this is a game you'll either really like, or really not like. The fact that I picked it up for a dollar at a yard sale when it was still pretty new tells me the original owner shared my opinion of the game.. =P

I thought it was a good game, but theres just some many sidequests to do and such. I mean, to get into one dungeon, you need to do anyother quest basically to get in. I never finished the game. I just thought there were to many small things to do in it.

if it were me id switch Minish Cap and Wind Waker but thats just me.

I personally didnt like the majoras mask with all the repeating that needed to be done. I don't like repeating. Like once when i was playing OoT:MQ the power went out after beating the water dungon in for the first time. It took me like a month to pick that game up again and repeat thr water dungon. But again thats just me.

Majora's Mask is a very good game. But Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker are more exciting, imo.

In my opinion, Majora's Mask is, by far, the greatest Zelda game thus far. It has an incredibly deep and dark story, has awesome puzzles, and FD Link>>>>>>anything that any other Zelda game has. Trust me, the time system isn't even that much trouble. You can slow down time, and if you're running out of time, just play the Song of Time.

Well I picked up the Collector's Edition a few weeks ago and still haven't finished Majora's Mask.

It's a good game in general, but the time system is kind of annoying. For example I saved at an owl after killing some aliens to get another bottle and the game decided to crash. That means going back to the first day (so no bottle :( ). The 3 day system is certainly interesting (and has its moments), but it's not the best idea IMO. It sort of feels like you haven't completed the temples once you warp back. OK you can easily go back and take down the boss but it's not something I really want to do.

I will complete it because it's not a bad game at all and I want to see the ending, but it's far from my favorite Zelda title.

I agree 100% percent. Ocarina of Time was overrated although I am a diehard SariaxLink shipper and cant stand ZeldaxLink.
This game was unique, out of the same old save princess Zelda. The only thing I didn't like was that [SPOIL]you couldn't stay around Termina after the carnival of time after you beat the game and that you couldn't actually play during the carnival.[/SPOIL] Now that would've been awesome.
IMO, Termina is the Houen of the Zelda world, hints of modern society everywhere. And I lurved all the bright colors and the sky color of the sunset on the last day.

VERY GREAT GAME!
it is all very fun and all but the three day thing is stoped with the ocarina of time. you remeber the song zelda taught you from Oot. the only thing wrong is that the game is short.

That only warps you back to the first day, and having to do this all the time is, quite frankly, frustrating.

But hey, it seems like a marmite game - you either love it or hate it.

I thought it was a pretty good game. The three day limit was different, something I wouldn't have expected in the Zelda series, it was an interesting concept and made the game harder, although it can annoy you at times. The story and plot were dark and mysterious than any other Zelda game I ever played, that's for sure. The thing I really liked about the game is that you didn't have to save Zelda (which is pratically in every game in the series), this game was a nice vacation out of the usual Ganon-captures-Zelda-Triforce plot. My favorite part is that you can change into a Deku Shrub, a Zora, and a Goron and have different abilities and instruments when you wear their masks - that was the actual unique concept of the game.

And on a side note: The Happy Mask salesman creeped me out...which he didn't really do much of in OoT....Now that I mentioned it, what was he doing in Hyrule and how did he crossed through the dimensions? The dude is wierd. In fact, this game gives us timeliners an interesting thing to put in our timeline theories.

All I have to say is, Majora Mask isn't the best Zelda game in my opinion, I actually enjoyed OoT and TWW more. Though, it's a really good game and it's really fun to play it in your spare time. Plus, it's a really great break from Hyrule and Ganon.

With Twilight Princess still to come I'd have to say that in my opinion this ranks equal first with Ocarina of Time. I don't know what you all have against the three day thing... but then considering a lot of you pointed out that you never finished the game, I guess you didn't really get far enough through to realise exactly how much this game relies upon that feature.

What makes it so great IS the three day idea, seriously what the hell are you guys thinking... "the three day thing needs to be removed". Err you do realise that in doing that they would have destroyed the whole theme of the game? Of course it's all down to personal opinion as o whether you like the feature or not but the idea of removing it completely is just stupid.

And I don't see how it gets annoying, it's actually quite a long time between saving and reseting the clock. And I hope you all realise that there is a way to cut the speed time passes in half? With double the normal amount of time I don't see how you could have any trouble in that respect.

And to the guy that played the game once and ditched it... I take it you're the type of person who listens to 10 or 20 seconds of the beginning of a song, reads only the first page of a book, or watches the first scene in a movie before jumping to the conclusion that the whole thing is rubbish. You my friend are going to have to learn a little thing called patience, give things a bit more of a chance.

I'm only talking to a few of you up there of course. And no I'm not saying everyone has to like this game, just have a decent reason next time.

Majora's Mask is great once you learn the system.
That is definatly true. I mean, it is not just learning it, it is getting used to it. I also have to say, that it is a game that gets better the more you play on it. It is full of loads of side quests.

I mean, there is:-
-a classic trade sequence, although short
-collecting heart pieces
-collecting masks
-filling your bombers note book.
-finding the fairies in the dungeons

I have to say, i did not used to like this game that much, but now i think it is one of the best Zeldas. And I have to deffinatly disagree about it not been as good as Minish Cap. And, IMO, i prefer it to Wind Waker. I think that it was the last truly great Zelda game. I just think that the newer 'Cel shaded' generation of zelda games is not as good.

All in all, i would highly recommend this game. There is loads to do, and despite what people say, there is not that much back tracking to complete the main story of the game. That is, unless you want to get 100%. But even so, that is not to bad, because you always find something new to do.

I think it's a tid bit better than Ocarina of Time, if you have to ask me.

Not to start a debate, but this game was really fun, and you were pressured to do things in a certain amount of time which made the game difficult, and like said, frusterating at times.

The concept, however, is terrifying. The entire land is going to be destroyed within three days, and you have to save it by going back in time.

But of course, there's always the song of inverted time, which made things somewhat easier.

By the way, I actually liked the Salesman in this game. It gave him a little more character, and just a creepy feeling that he could have thrown you across the room and be done with you.

That's just my opinion. The sidequests are plentiful, and the masks are just wonderful.

Totally underated though, with oh so many "zomgootpwnzmmuluzers wut were u thinkin"

Meh.
